1800Accountant Reviews (181)

Review: I have paid 1800accountant a fee of $149 per month since July 2014 for full bookkeeping services. Since that time, I have had numerous issues with them - cancelled appointments, rude customer service, non-responsiveness to my issues, and most importantly they have failed to provide the services I agreed upon:

1. I was told by the sales rep they would complete my 2013 personal tax return and later told by the accountant that was incorrect. They offered to do them for an additional fee of $500, which I declined.

2. I was to receive monthly financial statements and later told that it would be quarterly, but I never received ANY financial statements during the 4 months.

I contacted the company on several occasions inquiring about the whereabouts of my financial statements. In mid October, I was told they were behind due to the tax season and would finalize my statements shortly. Three weeks later, I contacted them again. Initially, I spoke with [redacted] who hung up on me and was very rude. Next I spoke with [redacted], "[redacted]". He said I didn't send my financial transactions in until the end of October, which is inaccurate. I have emails to validate my information was submitted on Oct. *. I asked [redacted] to provide validation of my late submittal, he did not. I asked the company to refund all fees paid since July since the company did not provide the agreed upon services and was refused.

1800accountant did not meet the contractual obligations of our agreement, therefore I am entitled to a refund of all fees.Desired Settlement: I am no longer interested in doing business with them, therefore my account has been closed to prevent additional charges. I would like all my fees refunded for 4 months-$596.00.

Response:

We have reviewed the client's file, and have determined that we are willing to offer a 50% refund. This decision is based on the fact that we completed the client's first quarter of bookkeeping but needed one piece of additional information from the client but since there was a delay in the time that the bookkeeper received the documents, the client no longer wanted to provide this information and just wanted to cancel. We tried to rectify it internally but the client opted to go through the Revdex.com. If the client accepts the refund offer, we request that she inform us through the Revdex.com and we will issue her refund within 48 hours of receiving her acceptance. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business states they requested additional information that was never received, this is false. All required documentation for the financial statements was submitted on Oct *. 2014. After that date, there was no follow up from the business only my emails inquiring about the status (see attached). Please have the business provide a copy of the email sent to me for additional information, since they are reporting this caused the issue.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We will only be refunding three fees as we completed the client's books but were awaiting one other piece of information in order to finalize it. We are also willing to send the client her statements but a full refund will not be refunded at this time due to the fact that the client's books were completed and we are trying to reach a middle ground by issuing a 75% refund. If the client accepts the refund offer, we request that she inform us through the Revdex.com. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me if $447 is refunded. Once the funds are deposited I will consider this matter resolved.

Review: I contracted with this business to Form me an llc. Per advertisement and email sent from one employee named [redacted]. The electronic filing take 3 business days. Because of time sensitivity, I decided to use them to form my llc. In fact after 6 business days I decided to call this company and they gave me the run around stating my card was declined and they didn't have a chance to call me. I called my credit card company and in fact it was not going through because they incorrectly input the expiration date. After they previously correctly charged my card for their initial fees of 199 dollars. They stated they will fix it and [redacted] charged my card and stated I should receive my document within one business day. AFTER THREE MORE business days I had received nothing I asked for a refund repeatedly and they refused and then I left messages for [redacted] and asked to have my compliant relaid to the [redacted]. NO RETURN CALL NO REFUND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I finally hear back 2 Business days later with nothing and thanking me for my service. This company takes your money and runs.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund. This company has not delivered per their advertisement. They have not kept good communication with me as a customer. They have been non responsive when asked for a refund.

Response:

We have reviewed the client's file and have determined that she is ineligible for a refund. This decision is based on the fact that services were rendered to the client. The service that the client purchased was for prepared incorporation documents and online filing of her business. Our records show that we attempted to file the client's prepared incorporation documents on January [redacted] 2015 but the client's credit card was declining when we tried to register her business with the state. The client provided us with an updated card which resulted in us refiling her corp documents and registering her business on 1/**/2015. The delay in filing the client's documents was due to the declining of her credit card not anything that we did incorrectly. To date the client's business is registered with the Secretary of State [redacted] effective 1/**/2015 therefore she remains ineligible for a refund since the service was provided. If any documentation is needed to substantiate the above referenced information, we would be more than willing to provide that upon request. Thank you for your assistance regarding this matter.

Review: I enrolled with 1800accountant in October 2015 for $695 annually, plus $30/mo for ongoing accounting services. I found their service to be unresponsive, always confused and late, totally unorganized and incompetent. When I requested a prorated refund for the unused term of my annual enrollment, I was told I had to opt out in the first 30 days of enrollment. I did not have a need for service in the first 30 days and only became aware of their service and quality gaps during the 2015 tax prep process for my business conducted over the last 30 days.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund for the unused portion of my annual enrollment fee of $695. I was enrolled for 5 months of the year, thus I expect $405.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

I paid over 1000 dollars for their inclusive services last month. They made me an appointment to speak with my accountant a few days later. When I did not receive a phone call at the specified time I attempted to reach anyone from the company. The number on the website gives a dead end option for existing clients- it hangs up on you. It says the party cannot be reached. DO NOT use this firm for anything. Their sales team was so friendly and seemed competent but they will take your money with absolutely no follow through.

Review: Formed an LLC wrought with errors. Company has corrected most after 6 months. I expect a refund for all problems their errors have caused.

Needed to form an LLC expediently and engaged their website that was not working properly. [redacted] from 1800Accountants called to place the order. Nothing was submitted correctly including the name of the LLC. The company did resubmit to correct the documents after 5 months and I am still waiting for the correct EIN tax number, 6 months later. The incorrect name on the LLC has made it difficult to create a bank account, get utilities opened, and government licenses have been delayed causing delay in opening the business. I paid $299 for an expedited LLC that is still not complete after 6 months. Although the filing was eventually corrected, it does not account for the money lost due to the delay caused by their error. As a business, I would expect them to at least refund the cost I paid for an inferior product. I am not asking for compensation lost due to their error.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund of the $299 I paid for a service that was not delivered and the delay in trying to get it rectified has cost me more money. Please note: I am still waiting for a part of it to be resolved, all paperwork has been submitted but the resolution has not been received.

Business

Response:

We rectified the errors on the client's documents and paid for the revisions and online filing therefore the client remains ineligible for a refund. We appreciate your assistance regarding this matter.

Review: We signed up for service with 1800Accountant. Services we were promised were never delivered. The accountant we were assigned failed to return calls or emails in a timely manner resulting in tax compliance issues. In addition the online interface and system for submitting taxes was not functioning. While we were just over the 30 day window, 1800Accountant refused to issue a refund and we ended up losing over $2000.00. We feel that 1800Accountant breached the contract we had with them and they did not provide the service and guidance we were promised at the time of signing up for this service.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the initial fee we were charged of $1890.00.

Business

Response:

We have already rectified this with the client and have issued a partial refund in the amount of $1417.50 on 3/*. That credit should have already posted to the client's card. If the client has any questions, he can contact us directly. We appreciate your assistance regarding this matter.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

When I first signed up for 1-800-Accountant, I was initially able to speak with a supposed accountant to give me advice on my business. As the year progressed, I noticed it was much more difficult to get ahold of any accountant. When the tax period came about (April, 2015), no responses were provided to my requests for assistance. I waited 6 weeks for a response that I submitted 3 times. No response. The hub that answers the phone, when the customer calls, does not know the full name of the accountants in their purview. Nor do they know when these accountants will reach out to the customer. In no way is this company customer focused. Their price is very high for a very low level of service.

I strongly do NOT recommend this company. It appears to be a scam company that should be shut down. Do not use this business.

Review: I was referred to this company by [redacted]. Their representative Adela, who is not an accountant, informed me that I would need an accountant to do an immediate tax filing status for my LLC. She stated that I could possibly file as a S Corp or C Corp to save me money. I did not have the $1490. She connected me with immediate funding for that amount through a company called Behalf. I was told I had 39 days to cancel if I did not like what I heard after speaking with an accountant so an appt was set up. I was called by a Jason W[redacted] as well as emailed by him under another persons email. After our conversation we had decided the service was not for us because we would still have to file for a partnership until we made 20 k from the business. We decided that it was a lot of money plus $30 to use their online service just for me to do basic business accounting. I filled the procedure of a request to cancel via email on Monday February **, less then a week of signing up. I also followed up with a phone call leaving a message with Adela that I was cancelling. I received a CC on an email sent to Jason W[redacted] where Adela tells Jason "what have you done". I spoke with the finance company, Behalf as well. They told me they need notice from 1800accountant that I am cancelling before funds can be returned to them and my account won't be dented $531 on March **, 2016. All of a sudden I stopped hearing from Adela and no one from 1800accountant following through with my cancellation. Less then a week and they can't cancel? There were no forms filed and no services used except consultation with accountant which was "free".

Business

Response:

This case has already been rectified as the client financed the charge of $1490 and once cancelled within 30 days, we informed the finance company to close the client's loan and to not charge the client. This request was completed by the finance company on 2/**/2016 and the client has no current or future fees to pay since the loan is closed. We appreciate your assistance regarding this matter.

Review: For months now I have been trying to get my bookkeeping going with 1800Accounts. They rarely respond to emails, now I can't reach them via their 1800 number or the number of my accountant. They were supposed to provide me a secure means of file upload. While I can log in, the web application does not allow me to upload any files. They, to this date, have not provided any bookkeeping services. They prefer I use drop-box but that is not very secure even with a password. I have emails my bookkeeper many times and have not had any response. In my eyes this is an epic fail of service.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the fees paid by me for the bookkeeping service and a pro-rated refund of the account fees.

Business

Response:

We have reviewed the client's file and have determined that we are willing to offer the client a full refund minus a 15% administrative fee for only the bookkeeping service. As for the services, the application for the client's bookkeeping is down but the client also has the option to either mail us or email us copies of his originals which we have not received. As for the unlimited access to an accountant, that fee will not be refunded due to the fact that the client activated his membership and once activated, that fee is non-refundable. If the client accepts the refund offer, we will issue the client's partial refund for the bookkeeping services. Once the client's acknowledges acceptance, we will issue his refund. We appreciate your assistance regarding this matter.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that I have no choice but to accept this offer. I am an IT professional and I find email, areas such as [redacted], etc to not provide the security required by me for my financial statements and quick-books file. While accepting this offer, I do not agree with the 15% admin fee as virtually nothing has been done from 1800Accountants side concerning the bookkeeping. .

Sincerely,

Review: I was referred to 1800Accountant by Daymond John Academy. After I had paid 1800Accountant I had dropped out of the Daymond John Academy and I could not use their service as they told me my tax preparations for that year was beyond their scope as it involved legal issues. So I had to use my regular accountant to file the taxes for 2014. So I asked for a refund then which they promptly refused and told me to use their service the following year 2015. I am asking for a refund of $1639. I also noticed that there are several complaints about 1800accountant online and their poor and faulty service. I am hesitant to use them for my taxes. I would like a refund.

Business

Response:

We have reviewed the client's account and have determined that she is ineligible for a refund due to the fact that her account is over two years old. At this time, the most we are willing to do is rendered the clients services as the client is well beyond our 30 day right to rescind timeframe. If the client has any questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your assistance regarding this matter.

Review: I made the mistake of signing up for help in setting up an LLC. When after a month of growing charges and still no LLC in sight, I cancelled their services. Yet they continued to charge me a $20/mo. "resident agent" fee! When I called them to complain, they laughed and said I had authorized the charges and had only cancelled the LLC services. What scammers!

Very scary is that the phone number they provided to my bank for these withdrawals is a bogus, non working number!!!

Beware of this company.Desired Settlement: I would like $200 reimbursement for unauthorized charges made to my credit card from 7/**-4/**.

We have reviewed the client's file and havefound it to invalid as the client purchased our services online on 6/**/2014. This was not a purchase made over the phone rather the client selectedonline when she purchased her corporate documents and operating agreement. Based on this, the client is not eligible for a refund due to the factthat she made the purchase and allowed the monthly fee to continue to bebilled. The client also claims that there was “no LLC in sight”but according to our records, it looks like we prepared the client’s corporatedocuments and emailed them to her on 6/**/2014. The client was supposed to sign those documents and submit them to thestate in order for her business to be registered. We cannot be held responsible if the clientfailed to do that. As for our phonenumber, it is active which is how the client was able to contact us to discussthis matter and request to cancel. Atthis time, the client remains ineligible for a refund due to the fact that theclient selected and purchased this service via our website. We appreciate your assistance regarding thismatter.

Review: My company signed up with 1800 Accountant to do our bookkeeping and tax filings. We had no problem getting someone on the phone when we were being courted by this company. (They were referred to us through [redacted] - I am also following up with them) As soon as we signed up and made our first payment, we couldn't get anyone on the phone about their services or our account for over 3 weeks. They provided no instructions or tutorial on how to use their services (website). When we were being pitched their products, we were told they had a fully functioning website as well as a phone app that we could use to upload our receipts and view our account. Those were there key selling points for us, on top of them managing our receipts and prepping our taxes.

We quickly found out that the phone app didn't work at all. It didn't connect to their company, the phone number attached to it was a line not in service and their website had issues. They said the website was new and they were still working to get it up and running properly. On top of that, in every correspondence, either by phone or email, they could't get our names right. That gave us absolutely no confidence in their ability to be able to file our taxes properly with the proper names. We also had no confidence in them making sure the proper social security numbers would be with the proper individual.

We felt as though we were guinie pigs for their company. Taxes are a very important part of every individual and company, and to not have confidence on top of them not able to provide the services we were promised is a big deal. I was particularly annoyed when they didn't have a tutorial on how to use their website, they just threw us to the wolves and let us figure it out. They eventually had someone walk me through the website after numerous attempts to speak with someone on the phone about it. Not to mention, I couldn't upload any documents for over a 6 week period of time where their website was obviously not working properly.

Needless to say, we are not happy with their services and I'm not satisfied with their amount they offered as a refund. We feel this company greatly exaggerated their services, especially when they are still having website issues and completely misrepresented what they offer.Desired Settlement: They have offered $531.50. That involves a charge of $250 (they are claiming they have a right to a 15% admin fee), a charge of $200 (with another 15% admin fee) and one month of service of $149.

We spent a total of $897 and would like to receive that amount IN FULL, with no admin fee charged.

Response:

We have reviewed the client's file and have determined that he is ineligible for any further refunds as the client accepted our refund offers in the amounts of $212.50, $200 and $149 despite the client cancelling the service after our 30 day right to rescind timeframe. As for services, the services were available to the client to utilize some of which is rendered in 2014 (taxpreparation) but the client opted to cancel because they were not using the services which we can not be held responsible for. Due to the fact that we have resolved this dispute internally and the client accepted the refund offer, no further refunds will be issued. We do appreciate your assistanceregarding this matter.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

This was their final email to me regarding this matter:

"I am sorry but the refund offer is final as you cancelled after our 30 day right to rescind timeframe and technically after that timeframe, we do not issue any refunds but as a courtesy, we offered a partial refund."

They obviously weren't even willing to negotiate as it states it was their final offer. I took it as I figured they might balk out entirely and I wanted to get something and I would pursue further action after the fact. Their 30 day policy - they kept saying, give it a little more time and us the chance to fix things. The website was not working properly for over 6 weeks (I couldn't upload any documents needed to properly execute my account) and their web app (Which they highly touted during their sales pitch as a great tool to make things simple and easy) never worked from the get go. So that 30 day policy is flawed and we feel we sere scammed as they tried to keep us past that 30 days and now they can throw that out as an excuse. Their services were NEVER on par with what they advertised when selling us.

They were blatantly selling a service that they do not have the means of being able to execute. Their app DOES NOT WORK. That was the main selling point on why we signed up so it would make things easy and convenient on our end - that never happened. It was a headache from the get go. They were very graceful and easy to get a hold of prior to us signing up, then when we did sign up and after they received payment from us, it took 3 weeks to be able to get anyone on the phone, explain to us how to use the website or to be able to speak with our book keeper. And quirt frankly, we received conflicting information from them on how to handle our bank accounts and payments.

They could not get our names correct in any correspondence with us and showed us no confidence in their services. These are the facts. Regardless of what they are saying, I agreed to what they offered because I was afraid they'd blah and we'd get nothing back. They are not willing to show any humility in the fact that they are still trying to figure things out on their end.

I caution anyone who is interested in using their service to do their due diligence. People are better of using a local CPA who they can interact with on a personal level. The consultant fees are worth it if you have a very simple and basic company set-up without a lot of paperwork. We are now managing our receipts and paperwork ourselves and will turn them over to a CPA who works in our industry and will be costing us far less and not leaving us with unanswered questions.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

The client obviously forgot to put in the entire communication he had with us. Initially we offered the client only a refund minus 15% for only the quarterly estimated tax payments and the client's additional partnership return. The client stated that that was unsatisfactory and wanted a full refund for the quarterly estimated tax payments and the personal return in addition to one months of fees at $149. We then re-reviewed the client's account and changed our offer to a full refubnd of $200 for the partnership return (which he requested), a refund of one months of fees (which he wanted) and we maintained the refund minus 15% for the the quarterly estimated tax payments. If this is not compromise then we are not sure what compromise is in the client's eye since we increased the refund offer based on his requests. Below is the email communication that the client omitted in his response to you. Thank you for your time.

I replied the way I did because I wanted to be sure I'd get something and that they wouldn't balk out entirely on me getting some sort of refund. As I stated in my previous correspondence with them, I was never satisfied. I figured I'd be nice and cordial with them in order to at least receive the amount they were giving me, but in no way am I satisfied and quite frankly, when they say they are giving me their final offer, it makes me feel like they will gladly turn around and walk away from the conversation and give me nothing.

Their business practices and dealing with the customer is atrocious. I would have pre freed to actually speak with someone, but they won't even call their people back other than put someone on the phone who doesn't have the power to maker any of the decisions I'm looking for.

Also, I don't appreciate them cutting and pasting my email address on this board where I'm told could be made public, which is why I cut and pasted only the body of their email and not the persons email address. Where is the sense of privacy and professionalism?? Obviously there is none and it speaks volumes on how this company conducts their business.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I am asking [redacted] for a full refund of what I paid for their service. The full refund would be $1,789.90 that includes the initial sign up fee of $1,490.00 and ten months of paying $29.99 to keep my account open. They didn’t provide the services that they promised. I’m a first-time business owner, and they took advantage of that.

On my original call 11/*/2014 with Michael B[redacted] (what I thought was my accountant but it turns out he’s just a sales person,) he stated that I could file my S-corp in Nevada and move to California and run it from there. Additionally, he was very convincing that the service is something that I needed as a first time business owner. He also told me that I would get my money back for my start-up costs and that I could claim the initial fee on my 2014 year taxes. He said that I should hurry and get everything done before 12/**/14, and that sounded logical and not knowing any better I signed up and paid in full that day.

It was all downhill from this point. I was excited to talk to my accountant and get advice. I was called, but I honestly can't remember the person's name, he barely spoke English. I had a difficult time understanding him the entire call, and he gave me conflicting information. He stated that I couldn’t run a business in Nevada from California. He also told me I should have filed my e-commerce business as an LLC and not an S-corp. I told him one of my professors, who's a practicing lawyer, told me that since it’s a nationwide e-commerce business to avoid legal problems it needs to be a corporation. He then admitted it’s not his expertise. I was left feeling extremely confused and didn’t know what to believe. I reached out to Micheal with concerns, and he told me he would get me another accountant.

I was called in early January from a very knowledgeable accountant, we talked about my business, he told me that they’ll be getting my papers filed, and he’ll be in touch. Weeks and weeks passed with no word, so again, I contacted Michael. I always have my taxes filed by Feb [redacted], so I was concerned I never heard anything back, and it was two weeks into February. He explained they have many clients and be patient. I would have appreciated a more clear time-frame in the beginning. I did ask for a full refund, so I could just go pay a local accountant to get my taxes completed. He stated that he would check with that department. Then I get an email saying that my account has been deactivated but nothing about a refund.

I reached out to Micheal, yet again, and asked him am I receiving a refund. He stated it was over the refund time. I then said I would like my account re-activated then so I can at least still get my taxes filed. He said he would have it re-activated. At this time, I was starting to regret my decision to waste all that money on a service that's pointless. I could have had my taxes filed for a fraction of the cost and hassle. Plus, my business wasn't making any revenue, so I should have been informed that I didn't need year-long accounting service. Instead, I was tricked into thinking I needed this service. They knew that I didn't know anything, and they jumped at that. I feel completely taken advantage of.

Unfortunately, this nightmare gets worse. So, finally I'm contacted by Levon L[redacted] an accountant who filed my taxes. The very first time I talked to Micheal, he made it sound like I would be getting back $5000 of my start up costs, but at this point after all the misinformation and a little research of my own, I came to the conclusion I would be getting back much less. So, it wasn't a huge surprise when I only got $1,709 as a refund.

A few months go by, and I get a letter from the IRS stating the taxes were missing a document. This was very stressful, and I felt overwhelmed at how much stuff is going wrong. I messaged Levon, and he said he'll take care of it. A few weeks ago, I received another letter from the IRS saying the same thing. I lost sleep over this and spent countless hours trying to reach the IRS. Between my regular job, running my own company, and juggling a writing career and strict deadlines, I found getting a hold of them nearly impossible. So, I wrote Levon, and he said he corrected it but then escalated me to a different individual. Who knows why and this was the straw on the camel's back.

At this time, I am completely emotionally burnt out, and I would like a refund for the full amount of $1,789.90. There was no service given, and now I am paying to go to another accountant and having them double-check all the work done and also explain the IRS papers because I don't trust this company.Desired Settlement: That I'll receive a full refund in the amount of 1,789.90.

Response:

First we want to apologize to the client for any inconvenience she may have experienced but after reviewing her account, it looks like both her personal and business returns were prepared and filed. The client’s membership also provides unlimited access to an accountant for questions but this portion of the service is rendered upon request and as the client stated, appointment were held for her. Since services were rendered but there were a few missteps and the client was not fully satisfied, we are willing to offer the client a refund for just the monthly fees. The client made seven payments of $29.99 which equates to a refund in the amount of $209.93. As for the amount refunded on the client’s taxes that is based on numerous factors such as expenses, profits and losses and can only be fully determined once the client’s taxes are actually prepared. We do inform client’s however that they can claim the amount paid to us as a business expense as long as their business is operational in the year that the service was purchased. As stated above, we can understand the client’s frustration which is why we are extending a refund offer to her but services were rendered and/or available to her therefore a refund of the total investment will not be issued. We appreciate your assistance regarding this matter and the client’s patience.

Review: I paid for my personal taxes to be prepared so I made an appointment and followed the instructions to submit all my paper work on their website. Once it came time to have the appointment I was not contacted so I made efforts in contacting the company as much as I could but I had not luck until I contacted my original sales representative. He found out who my accountant was but only sent an email to that person and only provided me with an name, email and a phone number but the phone number seems to be disconnected, this is unsatisfactory. I should have received an email from my accountant when I made the appointment and also received one when the accountant could not make the appointment along with a rescheduled appointment.Desired Settlement: I want my taxes filed by April [redacted] with a confirmation from the company along with my folder of my taxes and if they do not make the deadline I want them to pay the fees to the IRS for not making the deadline.

Response:

I have received the tax folder and the complaint ID [redacted] can be closed. However their tax folder and service I do not consider professional. I hope they from this experience and use it to better themselves.

Sincerely,

I am having terrible experience with this company. They promised many things last year, charged me four times more than any other tax CPA and still did not file my tax returns. I submitted everything on time, and they did not return my calls or have responded my emails. Lost $1400.00.

Review: 1 800 accountant advertise themselves to be a bookkeeping and tax prep company my first complaint was once I tried to get them to help with bookkeeping I was told no they don't do that. My second complaint has to do with their website it's a terrible software that did not work for me I was told that the monthlbooks of 29.99 I paid was for the website. As a result I stopped paying that fee. 1800 accountant then cancelled my entire membership forgoing the $1,400 that I paid for the tax prep for personal and business and consultation.

Another issue I had was that my S Corp filing was due March [redacted]. An email should have been sent out but I did not receive it as a result and have to pay a penalty because the accountants that I hired did not make sure that that information was communicanot me.Desired Settlement: I'd like to receive a refund for the service if not 100% at least the majority because I do not believe they did their jobs.

Response:

We have reviewed the client account and want the client to know that he has not lost the service as his membership was cancelled due to the outstanding fees on his account. We are more than willing to prepare the client’s taxes once the client provides his tax documents and completes his tax organizer. If the client has already prepared his taxes outside of our firm, we are more than willing to rollover the unused tax preparation for next year. In regards to the client’s penalty, we request that he contact us directly in order to review his penalty letter from the IRS but we did send an auto email to all clients regarding the tax filing deadline. If the client has any other questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your assistance regarding this matter.

The only reason I would have ever even considered this company is because of the recommendation from [redacted]. This was the single biggest mistake I have ever made in my professional career. Everyone in the company made a concerted effort to get my initial information to begin services and then follow that up with a phone call to get a satisfaction review. The problem is, all they had done at that point was get my info. After that, I had to beg for bookkeeping services, which took over six months to get my first quarter! [redacted] was supposed to be my accountant. She told me I wouldn't need to pay third quarter taxes. ) I was later fined by the [redacted] when I filed taxes later). Then she guessed at what we would owe for the fourth quarter! It would take weeks to get a return phone call, until she eventually quit returning or taking our calls. We later found out that all of my receipts and expenses that we had been submitting monthly were never even opened.

When our taxes were finally prepared, it took over 5 revisions before they were correct. Huge errors that would have cost me thousands in back taxes luckily were caught by my wife before submitting. We never did receive our third quarter book keeping. No one in the company will return phone calls or emails. When I called this morning, there was no one to answer the main phone number and the voice mail was full. BEWARE! This entire outfit is a SCAM!

Review: The expectations and promises I was told were not fulfilled as per my agreement with 1800Accoutant. When I needed to speak with my accountant, responses were unmade unless I followed up on multiple occasions. This left me with no trust for the service I had come to expect. I only became aware of service and quality gaps after the 30 days of enrollment. Other issues such as them bringing me in as a client for 2015 tax services when I wanted to be brought in for 2016. They did nothing with my account at and I have come to the conclusion I do not want their service.

I tried to reach out to cancel my account and explain the situation, Tracy refused to cancel my account and stated I was out of luck and was after the 30-day window. I feel I am not being treated fairly as a customer and there is no lack of care of the overall best interests of the customer. I feel trapped, giving money for something that I have not used.Desired Settlement: At this time, I am requesting a FULL refund of $1,890 that was charged on February **, 2016 and refunds of the monthly $29.99 charges.

Review: I signed up for a $1490 service in November, and traveled to Thailand for a month. When I got back, I tried to schedule a call with my accountant, but they told me my accountant had changed. The new accountant didn't have availability for 3 weeks, and when I finally got on the call with them, they were unable to answer any questions I had. They said there seemed to be some confusion over the services they offer. I agreed and said I would like to cancel because what they do was not something I needed. Once I cancelled, they sent an email saying I would only be refunded $895 because it as past the 30 time period for canceling. They did nothing with my account at all, and I got on one phone call to set things up only to find that the service wasn't what I needed for my business. The call lasted approximately 10 minutes.Desired Settlement: I would like a FULL refund of the price I paid for the service because the service was not used and was not what I was told I was signing up for.

I called 2 minutes ago to check the status and the same guy that I talk 2 weeks ago told me that they sent me an email requesting more information. I did not receive any email and I check all my folders and there is 0 emails from this company. I ask the guy if I can cancel my service with them and get my money back. he transferred me to customer service and I been waiting for over 50 minutes and nobody has answer. Don't get this company this company has the worst service. I think this company is a scam.Desired Settlement: I want my money back ASAP
