1File.org Reviews (460)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,[redacted]
1File.org uses and Internet address (.org) typically used for non-profit organizations, schools, and open source projects – it turns out that they are a for profit third-party business entity. When they contacted me by phone, they had all my personal information to include loans, dollar amounts, loan status, school information, academic status, department of education files numbers, and lender information. They said that they would be able to “assume the loan” (take over the loan) from my lending institution as part of a Department of Education loan forgiveness program. When asked should I contact my lender the response was “no” that the paperwork would be submitted and the transfer was an automatic process. They have all of my personal information to include birthday, SSN, banking account information, school information, financial information, tax information, and student loan information. Coincidentally, yesterday, September 29, 2016 someone tried to set up a fraudulent internet banking account in my name and attempted a Western Union money transfer of funds from my accounts – apparently those involved had all of my personal and banking information.
I was contacted multiple times by 1File.org both by people and recorded messages to sign up for Department of Education student loan debt relief and forgiveness programs even after I had signed up with 1File.org. Each time I spoke to a person, they offered “better rates” and the last offer said that all I would need to do is pay the $899 then $39 per month for 25 years (300 months) and the loan balance would be forgiven. Doing the math 899 + 39x300 = $12,599. After consulting with my student loan provider (Great Lakes https://www.mygreatlakes.org/educate ), I could qualify for the income-based loan forgiveness program with no cost or processing fees; additionally, NONE of the fees collected by 1File.org would be applied to either the loan principle or interest as was mentioned. All the money is going directly to 1File.org (aka EDUNET). According to Webster’s dictionary – Default: “A failure to pay financial debt.” If the principle or interest of a loan is not paid for 25 years, this meets the definition of default. If a person is standing at the edge of a cliff, one need not take a step to know what the end result will be.

After having contacted my loan lender, the Department of Education (DOE), and discussed the loan information and repayment status and available plans. It was here that I was made aware of third-party companies misleading individuals that they represent the DOE regarding student loan consolidations and repayments. and examining Revdex.com (Revdex.com) reviews on 1File.org, there were similar patterns of deceptive practices that I had experienced. After conducting this research and speaking with my loan provider confirming that the loans had not been taken over and that they had never heard of 1File.org. I also spoke with my bank regarding payments made to “EDUNET.”
Examples are emails received during my student loan forgiveness processing. The emails appear to be an official request from the office of student aid, US Department of Education. Apparently, 1File.org was able to access and change my DOE student loan passwords, which adds to the impression that they are connected with the Department of Education.

Finally, if details and conversations are recorded, then 1File.org is aware of their practices.

Client signed a simple English agreement which clearly states our relationship and clearly states you can do this on your own, Much like filing your taxes., and in the same way if you call the IRS and ask if they have heard of my Accountant the answer will be NO. GREAT LAKES, failed to tell client he was eligible for years, only after we delivered the approval did GREAT LAKES now explain the options. You don't have to believe a word I say to search GREAT LAKES on the internet and find the same complaints. We exist because government contractors like GREAT LAKES are not advising the millions of borrowers of their options, The 2016 Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Report confirms bad practice among all Government contracted servicers. The emails from FSA are from FSA we do not spoof any email headers. 2. Nature of Service; No Legal or Tax Advice. 1FILE.ORG is a private company not affiliated with any government agency. Client acknowledges that the programs that Clients is seeking are available without cost to Client. Clients has retained 1FILE.ORG to perform work and processes that the Client could have chosen to do themselves. The Client acknowledges that 1FILE.ORG is not a law firm, and that no legal or tax advice can or will be provided under this agreement. Client acknowledges and agrees that the Services do not consist of any renegotiation, restructure, reduction or other adjustment of the terms of any existing loan or debt.- WE ALSO RECORD THIS IN A QUALITY CONTROL RECORDING WITH THE CLIENT AND A THIRD PARTY VERIFICATION CENTER.

This complaint was directed to the wrong company. [redacted] is not a client of ours. I completed a thorough search in our system, and we have zero information in our database of this person. He should double check the name of the company who processed his payment, because it was not us.

Client had her loans consolidated and payment reduced from $451 on April 16, 2015 to IBR $0 FEDLOAN approved. She hired us for a result and we delivered better than promised.

I appreciate the loans being fixed just still mad because 1File.org was misleading and I feel I gave 500 dollars away. I will like that money back.

the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As complainant, I am dissatisfied with the offer by 1file.org because I distinctly asked the question for clarity at the very beginning, "are you asking for my total income or just my income from my salary with my current employment?". I was told to just provide the income from my current employment. The IRS forms the company requested clearly showed the income I received from my current employment, without question, but complainant feels that there was a plan to intentional deceive complainant to process bank card and to later deny that all along, that the company had a strategic plan to collect funds for and charge more than initially offered complainant to pay each month. Nevertheless, whether the agent was deliberately deceptive or not, complainant should not be charged with the company's error. Agents represent the company and the company is responsible to fully refund complainant for the company's error
Regards,
[redacted]

In order to address each and every one of your concerns I will in the order of your complaint.
1. I did not authorize the company 1file.org to debit my account for 199.67 on Feb...

8th 2016 but they did on their own.
RESPONSE: We have a copy of a signed Credit Card Authorization and Services Agreement stating otherwise.
 2. The agreement was that I would contact 1file.org and let them know what my finances were if the payment could be done on the 8th.
Response: That is what your signed agreement states, to which you completed a Verification and Compliance call explaining our relationship at the time of the agreement. The same agreement you deny knowing about above and then acknowledge in the next item of your complaint.
3. I did not call them because I applied for the service they do myself for free.
Response: At the time we contacted the client, she had not enrolled in the federal program we made her aware of, A program she had been eligible for years and had not yet applied until we explained to  her in a consultation. Our agreement clearly states we would need to be contacted in order to cancel a client.
4. In the midst of trying to call them and contact the proper persons was virtually impossible. I kept getting voice-mail and or no answer.
Response: Above you stated you did not call us. We have numerous methods of contact sent to all clients upon enrollment and throughout the process.

5.   I'm very disappointed in this company it's a scam. I think their license should be under investigation because they are not legitimate. I've never come across a business as such who would outright say no refund and then threatened they want to halfway comply. All I want is my money back and them to not so anything for me.Thank-you in advance
Response: We are not a scam as you could see our earned reputation and Revdex.com accreditation when you filed this complaint. There was not a refund due as you had already charged back the debit with your bank and the money was returned.

We will look in to this outside agencies phone calls to you, I can assure you 1file.org did not make harassing phone calls, The call are from an outside marketing center which sends files to us to process the paperwork correctly.
As...

a gesture of good will we are willing to help you do this on your own, we do not want you upset. We also will reach out to this Marketing center and make sure that you do not get called again.Sorry for any Inconvenience.

Mr. [redacted] has been enrolled with us since 1/29/15. In the contract he signed with us at the time of enrollment (attached), it was very clear that we would be processing documentation on his behalf through the Department of Education and also the loan servicer, which is Fed Loan Servicing. Emails are created for clients to enable us to properly manage their accounts, and all information is then forwarded automatically to the client's personal email accounts which they provide to us.
Mr. [redacted]'s claim that the Dept of Education or loan servicer was "unable to contact him", is simply NOT true. Mr. [redacted] has been receiving correspondence to his personal email since the day he enrolled with us on 1/29/15. We completed an Income Driven application for him last year and he received an approval from Fed Loan Servicing for a $0 payment for 12 months. When it was time to recertify his repayment plan, we contacted him several times via email and phone with no response to us. Below, you will see screenshot of an email opened and read by client and also detailed notes written in his file.
He has since cancelled his enrollment with us and filed this complaint.

Yes I did do my research after deciding to go through with your company. However, in the contract it says that if you want to opt out you can call, write, or send an email. Yes towards the top of the contract it says there's a "cooling off" period, but further down the contract it says to opt out. In that portion of the contract it doesn't specify or indicate a length of time required, it just says to call, write, or send an email. I've sent two emails all ready stating that I do not wish to use your services anymore. Another reason I am upset is that [redacted] shared my personal information with my sister. [redacted] can only share limited information, and the only person whom they can share that with is my mom. You guys on the other hand disclosed all my loan information to my sister, that could've been someone I don't even know. Another thing, just to prove how much of a scam artist you all are she gave you guys a fake name and SS#, the second time she called, and you guys lied and said that you could help her. You guys told her the same thing you told me, "we can forgive 55% of your loans and all you have to do is pay $600 and $39 each month after that". So that's why I blocked your guys' number and why I refuse to pay you. Now this will be my third time telling you guys again I do not need your services. My loan holders are doing a better job than you guys. They are able to hold my loans in deferment and I don't have to pay them anything while in school. You guys are asking me to pay you $600, in four installments, just for filling out an application. On top of that I have to pay you guys $39 every month for 25 years! When I spoke with an agent from [redacted] (the company in charge of my student loans) told me it was free to fill out and when I found out that I qualified for the program, they said I didn't have to pay anything for a year. All I had to do was reapply every year, but since I am in school they said I should put them in deferment.

The Client acknowledges that 1FILE.ORG is not a law firm, and that no legal or tax advice can or will be provided under this agreement. Gina, my consolidation representative was very helpful with ensuring me that this company was trustworthy. Whenever I needed to get in contact with her or had doubt about anything she was easily accessible. This made me feel secure about my investment in this company.

How is it fraudulent, when the client admits we've been trying to get a hold of him repeatedly and he admits he did not respond? Client has been receiving our emails phone calls yet would not respond and then he wonders why his account did not get taken care of correctly. The only thing that...

didn't get taken care of is he wasn't recertified for the following year which keeps his payments high ,no damage happened to his credit.

This Company is now calling me and screaming and threatening me about further payment they attempted to collect out of my bank account DESPITE I HAD TO DO THE WORK THIS COMPANY WAS PAID TO DO. Also despite on this Revdex.com website they responded stating they would not be collecting any further payments from my bank account and I would dropped as a customer. Just today 12/12/15 SATURDAY I'm receiving these very rude calls and insufficient fund calls stating I owe them still. This has now become harassment, I thought I could handle this myself but I clearly will need assistance legally if this continues.  For anyone reading this Just call your student loan company they do not advise this company they also ADVISED me to call the attorney general office to get info on this company and or file a complaint. I truly want this situation behind me but if they continue to attempt to take funds from my account I clearly can't move on.

I am glad they have me a refund,  but these people have sloppy, shady practices.  Unless they are forced to change their ways I would expect more complaints from others.  Otherwise my situation had been resolved.

HOW CAN 1FILE.ORG HAVE AN A RATING, WHEN MOST OF THE REVIEWS ARE NEGATIVE AND THE COMPLAINTS OF COURSE ARE ALL NEGATIVE. HOW IS THAT? THESE PEOPLE MAKE MONEY BY BEING PUSHY AND SCAMMING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY. ONCE THEY GET IT AND YOU DECIDE TO CANCEL...THEY ARE NOT GIVING YOUR MONEY BACK. THEY SUCK!

[The statement given by 1file goes against my story entirely. I repeatedly asked about [redacted] loans specifically and was told that if it's here then it'll be consolidated. It was never stated that the loans were not there. I am not going against the assistance I was given or denying the savings, however I firmly believe that I was tricked into signing up for something thinking that I would receive some asisistance with the [redacted] loan included. I specifically stated that repeatedly and that I couldn't afford paying the [redacted] LOAN on top of the monthly payment to 1file. My complaint has nothing to do with the service because everything would have been 5 stars, my issue lies with the way people get signed into the initial contract. I expect 1file to abide by the agreement terms and return all funds to me immediately.]
