Prior to speaking with our company this client had a payment of over $300, we made her aware of a government program she is eligible. We contracted a fee to file paperwork for her to get enrolled in the government program, which she could have done on her own years ago, she did not. After completing...

the work and getting her approved she then complained about being able to do it on her own. She completed a Quality control verification call prior to enrollment which discloses all the details of the program and where each dollar she pays is going, and she chose to enroll and have us do the work for a fee.

These people are quite pushy and, to be honest, it felt like a scam the whole time. But they are also quite convincing and knowledgeable: they said that the Repayment Program they offered would be $39 a month with an initial 3 months of $200 and would be for a term of 120 months. I told them I already had an Income Based Repayment Plan for which my payments were effectively $0 for the next year and adjustable for the full 120 months. They countered that the terms of my Plan were actually for 240 months. This was incorrect--a form of misdirection, misinformation or simply bad information--my terms were as I understood them. The clincher for me was that they wanted my credit card number over the phone and sent me a boiler-plate contract over email (after I insisted that I needed to see the information in writing). I said I wanted the contract by mail and was promptly both promised this and dismissed (after being transferred to three separate representatives, each with a more official title but none with substantively different information or authority). We'll see if it comes. Equally suspicious, they would not give me their physical address. They claimed to be a part of another organization: USFLCC out of Baltimore, but their office is California (even though everyone in the background was speaking Hindi (not a racist comment, I know the language)) but then they could not tell me the physical address of their company beyond the fact that they are in Huntington Beach. Incidentally, the California office of the USFLCC is in Pleasantion, CA, half-way across the state. This business may be legitimate, may be accredited, but it certainly does not stand up well to intelligent scrutiny which should be a warning to anyone considering doing business with them.

The price they say I'm now paying isn't correct, they're off by about 80 dollars. They do now have a clue. Someone really needs to look into their practices.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Yes I did do my research after deciding to go through with your company. However, in the contract it says that if you want to opt out you can call, write, or send an email. Yes towards the top of the contract it says there's a "cooling off" period, but further down the contract it says to opt out. In that portion of the contract it doesn't specify or indicate a length of time required, it just says to call, write, or send an email. I've sent two emails all ready stating that I do not wish to use your services anymore. Another reason I am upset is that [redacted] shared my personal information with my sister. [redacted] can only share limited information, and the only person whom they can share that with is my mom. You guys on the other hand disclosed all my loan information to my sister, that could've been someone I don't even know. Another thing, just to prove how much of a scam artist you all are she gave you guys a fake name and SS#, the second time she called, and you guys lied and said that you could help her. You guys told her the same thing you told me, "we can forgive 55% of your loans and all you have to do is pay $600 and $39 each month after that". So that's why I blocked your guys' number and why I refuse to pay you. Now this will be my third time telling you guys again I do not need your services. My loan holders are doing a better job than you guys. They are able to hold my loans in deferment and I don't have to pay them anything while in school. You guys are asking me to pay you $600, in four installments, just for filling out an application. On top of that I have to pay you guys $39 every month for 25 years! When I spoke with an agent from [redacted] (the company in charge of my student loans) told me it was free to fill out and when I found out that I qualified for the program, they said I didn't have to pay anything for a year. All I had to do was reapply every year, but since I am in school they said I should put them in deferment.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Problem: I was contacted by one of their representatives that was trying to offer me lower payments on my student loans. However, the person lied about the whole thing. After paying the process fee, which I thought goes towards the student loans. They never mentioned that there was a monthly maintenance fee of $39. I had asked the representative twice just to be sure that I'll be saving money. Apparently that was a lie. Basically I went from paying $80 a month to $177 a month with the new lender plus the $599 processing fee, $39 maintenance fee. How is this even consider as Student Loan Forgiveness? Long story short, I was lied to and misinformed thinking 1file.org was my new lender.
Desired Outcome:
I want them to cancel my contract for misinforming me about saving money on student loans. If they do record the conversation that I had with the rep. They should know there was proof. I called and ask for an audio recording or some sort. But they were giving me a hard time.

[redacted] claims. All of which are misleading and untrue enclosed is proof ofservices rendered prior to receiving payment as shown below.[redacted] was provided the services contracted us for, we negotiated with her servicer, getting her loans outof Default status and taking her monthly payment from $173.25 and impending wage garnishment to $0 (YES ZERODOLLARS) with the federal government paying her interest through the William D Ford Act as well as got a majority of hisLoan forgiven through the same Federal program she is eligible.Enclosed is a signed contract dearly outlining how she could do this on her own or she could contract us to do itfor her, Much like you can file your own taxes or hire a professional to get you the most savings. We provide the service prior to getting paid and once she received the benefit he didn't want to pay as agreed. We alsohave a compliance call recording verifying the above was agreed to by the client. We have everything we need to send herto collections and collect the remaining balance if we so choose. We chose not.Her claim is we lied, which is ironic as her whole basis of complaint is a complete and total farce.Sincerely[redacted]1. She did not pay as agreed $5992. Her loans where consolidated and at a Zero payment with no interest as proof in the enclosed letter fromFEDLOAN and the Department of Education.Process

In all fairness to the client I want to respond to each and every one of her concerns as outlined in her complaint in the same order:1. "However, in the contract it says that if you want to opt out you can call, write, or send an email. Yes towards the top of the contract it says there's a "cooling off" period, but further down the contract it says to opt out. In that portion of the contract it doesn't specify or indicate a length of time required, it just says to call, write, or send an email. I've sent two emails all ready stating that I do not wish to use your services anymore."  RESPONSE: We have canceled the client at the time she called and canceled, she has been refunded all 149.75 that she paid. - "Another reason I am upset is that [redacted] shared my personal information with my sister. [redacted] can only share limited information, and the only person whom they can share that with is my mom. You guys on the other hand disclosed all my loan information to my sister, that could've been someone I don't even know." RESPONSE: We do not share any information as well as the Information we retrieve from the Department of Education and all of the Federal Student Loan Service's have security safeguards in place to assure this does not happen by security questions and passwords that only the ' PERSON" in question would be able to answer.

A # from Connecticut repeatedly called me. I finally accepted the call. It was 1file.org. My 'spider sense' immediately went off and my gut was telling me "NO!!!" They had all my info, said I qualified for 'Student Loan Forgiveness' from the Department of Education. "The offer was to good to be true". I always 'sleep in things' and was adamant to not give him a payment at that moment!!! I immediately went to research them and found all these negative reviews. Here's one more!!!

Client charges we hurt his credit by 90 points, and claims we caused him to default. He receives notice from us as well as his loan holder at the same email address since enrollment. Client was enrolled in February 2015. Approval for a successful consolidation and Income Based Repayment was completed 30 days later on March 30th 2015. Client received a zero-dollar payment with eventual loan forgiveness, just as we promised. Client failed to respond to our calls and emails contacting him for his annual recertification on 02/12/2016 which is only needed when circumstances change, which did in this case.  Email opened receipts included) So we know the emails where opened and he failed to respond. Below is a copy of the notes from the first contact with client after he became PAST DUE  Not DEFAULT as he claims) : General 08/2016 [redacted] Client called in, requesting cancellation Client was due for a recertification Sent email informing client of recertification, requesting for updated FSA information, which client opened the same day on 02/12/2016  Client's [redacted] account is linked to the same current address, phone number and email address on file. [redacted]'s electronic mail of the recert/past due payments gets delivered to [redacted]@gmail.com Client never made the effort to contact 1file.org or [redacted] to provide the updated information needed to complete the recertification application. Notified: [redacted], [redacted]   Client charges we hurt his credit by 90 points, and claims we caused him to default. He receives notice from us as well as his loan holder at the same email address since enrollment.

Client agrees we completed the service contracted yet insisted a partial refund as a resolution. Our contract is simple and easy to understand...The program this client is in requires a yearly vetting process which we do year in and year out for a small monthly fee which clients in a zero payment are happy to pay. If this yearly action is not taken or filed improperly the client goes back to their previous much higher payment.
There are many other benefits to 1file.org managing your loan repayments.
Much like Tax preparation, you can do it yourself or hire a professional.
Bottom line is we delivered as agreed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Refund Process:One of the key reasons that a credit card refund takes as long as it does is the number of steps involved in the refund process. When you initiate a refund, as when you return merchandise to a store, the seller requests a refund by beginning a new transaction request on the credit card network. The card company must receive this information, check it against your purchase history, confirm the merchant's request, clear the refund with its bank and transfer the credit to your account. The credit card's billing department must then issue a statement that shows the refund as a credit, which serves as the final step in the process. Each step is an opportunity for delays due to human or computer error, or due to waiting for a billing cycle to elapse.Timeline:Credit card refunds can take anywhere from two to 30 days before they are complete. The first 24 to 48 hours of this period involve the initial refund with the credit card company. But credit card companies use major banks to supply the funds they lend to cardholders to make purchases, which means that the credit card's policies as well as the bank's policies can delay the refund.

"So again I restate this company lies..they dont give 100 percent money back guarantee because if they would, I would not be in this website requesting for my money." We have a 100% Money Back Guarantee, it doesn't apply when we completed the approval for the application and the results are documented.5. All refund requests must be made within 90 days of any loan application denial by the DOE. 1FILE.ORG will reimburse 100% of the Service fee paid by Client. If the client has a DENIAL letter please produce it.

Back in June, I contacted 1file.org for student loan consolidation. I never signed up with them after I seen how much money they were trying to rip me off when they sent me the quote. The representative took information from me and without my knowledge he set me up to an FSA (Financial Student Aid) ID. It is now the end of September and I went to the studentloans.gov website and it asked me for an FSA ID number. I went to create it and it said I was already in the system. I called FSA and they said I created the account in June and I told them that I hadn't, then I put 2 and 2 together and realized that 1file.org did it and I asked the FSA representative did he see any information with that name on there and he said yes. I was then transferred to another representative who can help me and she said that they get countess calls about companies like these using people's information without their authorization. Now I have to reset it and it takes a few days for me to be contacted. So I called the place to complain and they end up giving me the information for me to get into the system. I was able to get in, but they spelled my name wrong so because my name didn't match with my actual name, they wouldn't except my form. This is extremely unacceptable and violating.

Review: Spoke with one of the customer representative on my student loans. He made me a deal stating that my loans will be offered $40 a month after the initial payment of $140 a month for a total of $499 after signing. I repeated myself to him if I signed this will this be $40 after. (must of been an audio recording of my conversation) Later, I received a payment request from another company ([redacted]) for $142 a month, thinking 1file.org was my service provided. Apparently I was under [redacted] now. I thought to myself, if I was in debt and told them my situation, isn't the point of re-consolidation is to save money? I was with [redacted]) and I payed only $80 a month. Now I'm paying twice the amount! I called 1file.org and they denied that one of the reps would mislead me like this and they can't do anything about it.

I felt that this was a scam!Desired Settlement: If I can be switched back to [redacted].

Response:

21,992.00 in Federal Student Debt with [redacted] the client was paying $142 in a standard program. After we completed consolidation and IBR application, Client is consolidated and in an Income based repayment of $0, The payment he is looking at from [redacted] paperwork sent in the mail is what the payment would be without the help of us putting him in an Income Based Repayment, It is common for client to misunderstand the paperwork sent in the mail from the servicer.
