First and foremost, there's no need looking out for the cheapest electrical option when doing a major project like a basement development because you would end up spending more money at the end. Scott was the lead on a major electrical project at our residence recently. We found him to be very courteous and pleasant in his interaction with us and professional in his approach to the work that was done. I had an electrical problem due to improper use of a portable air conditioner. I had a melted electrical outlet and had 4 Star Electric (Brad) come to provide after hours service. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Brad took the time to explain the problem and why it had occured. He also tested my entire panel and each breaker for as part of the service.
Nearly two weeks later, the breaker that controller the newly fixed electrical outlet tripped repeatedly, causing me to call back. After waiving the dispatch fee, Shannon was dispatched to fix my issue. She found the problem to be yet another melted electrical plug on the breaker, this time the plug was melted on the inside where I couldn't see it. She not only replaced the plug and the arc fault breaker, but took the time to check every electrical outlet on that breaker (the whole 2nd floor) to alleviate my concerns about a repeat occurence of this problem. So far, so good! I would recommend 4 Star Electric to anyone who needs electrical work done. They were prompt, honest and upfront about the cost.

We had an emergency situation arise on Sunday with the power in our home. We called 4 Star Electric and they sent Thomas L. over. He spent a lot of time trying to solve our issue. He was unable to find the problem that night but did give us all of the power back on a temporary basis. We live in an old house and we have aluminum wiring. He returned the next evening and gave us a quote to bring the house up to code. We accepted the quote and they were able to start the next day. It took them 2 days but the entire time they were very professional and courteous. Neither my husband or I were home during the process but they took good care of our dog. I had a truly impressive experience with Luke L. and his colleague. I sought out three quotes to install a ceiling fan on a high, 13 ft ceiling, which was not under the attic space. This meant that the job would require an electrician to fish wiring through various walls and along the basement ceiling to get to the electrical panel. All other electricians told me that would need to punch holes in my walls and high ceiling to get the job done. They were also going to siphon off power from an existing outlet, which "may or may not result in me being able to use the ceiling fan and kitchen toaster at the same time" These electricians also stated they couldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be more damage after they started the job. When Luke came I found he walked around more than the other electricians to inspect how the house was set up. After assessing the situation he said he might have to make one hole, but could hide it behind a cupboard. He said it was even likely that he wouldn't even need to make any holes at all. I was a little dubious about this. I mean every other electrician told me damage was inevitable. So, Luke described how he would perform the work and I could see the logic in his plan. When the work was actually performed, Luke discovered that one of the pathways he was relying to fish the wires though wouldn't work. But he didn't revert to the "hole" method. Instead, he used a camera to look inside the ceiling and discovered a different way. Bottom line- no holes! No additional expense or hassle to fix them! All the work was done on time and everything was cleaned up. I was very impressed with Luke's (and his colleague's) expertise. I was also impressed by the great customer service on I received on the phone. I told one colleague that I used 4-Star and she said that her husband was also very impressed with their work.
