Terms of sale and refund not clearly advertised on website and not on product packaging. No invoice/receipt.
Ordered a skin cream as a free trial product on 10/5 (paid 4.99 for S and H) and after 2 weeks they charged my card $89.92 for the product which was supposed to be free in the first place.
Called them and was informed at point of sale on website, the terms where there requiring a 2 week cancellation to avoid a full charge - for what amount, not stated on website or on packing slip in the package. Deliberately hiding and slipping a charge to customer by not including an official invoice/receipt with package.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of $89.92 to my VISA card and stop doing business- they're a big scam.

Thank you for mediating this consumer complaint from our customer, Case Number: ***. Our company strives to make sure that our customers are 100% satisfied, so we take consumer complaints very seriously. Before customers commit to our 14 day free trial, our customers have to affirm and acknowledge the terms & conditions for our autoship program by marking the T&C check-boxes.

According to our records, the customer ordered our skin cream on a 14 day trial basis back on 10/05/2017 and paid the shipping and handling fee of $4.99 . The trial expired on 10/19/2017 and due to the fact that the customer didn't cancel they were charged $89.92 for the original shipment.

The customer contacted our Customer Service on 11/02/2017 and requested for the subscription to be cancelled, which we did. The customer emailed us on 11/03/2017 requested a refund so we provided a full refund in the amount of $89.92 for any misunderstanding when placing the order. Here is the refund confirmation:

BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM Free Trial then they charge your credit card twice 0 stars DO NOT FALL FOR THIS

This company is a scam. I ordered 2 "samples" for a total of 9.95 ( I have the email receipt) and they charged me 89.92 and 89.95 on my credit card.
In August 2017 I saw an offer online for some samples of skin care that looked like something I would like. I ordered 2 "samples" for a total of $9.95 ( I have the email receipt). A month later on my credit card statement there are 2 separate charges, one for 89.92 and one for 89.95. I immediately filed a dispute with my credit card company and they sent me a new card because I never purchased anything for this amount and thought it was frauduelent charges. Now, 2 months later, my credit card company somehow sided with the "Amabella" (not sure what their research process is) and the 89.95 and 89.92 are BACK on my credit card. I just called again, and spoke with my credit card company and told them I found the receipt and they are again going to dispute, I also called the # the credit card lady gave me for the "Amabella" (I had no # for them) it is 1-888-868-6305 (in case anyone else is having this same problem) and spoke to a lady who told me my "subscription" (which I never signed up for) was cancelled (should I believe her?) and that she couldn't give me a refund since I had already disputed it with my credit card and therefore it was "out of her hands, because I didn't not give them the opportunity to refund it". WELL if you get TWO charges on your account for almost $90.00 each from the same day and DIDNT order anything for that amount, I think the first thing someone would think is FRAUD and contact their credit card company? Plus there were no numbers or contact information for this company to even reach out to them. Anyway, this is a definite scam, I don't know how they are still in business and how this isn't disputed. I have disputed it AGAIN with my RECEIPT this time and will see what happens. I cant believe this type of deceiving thing takes place but I guess not everyone is hard working for their money and just tries to scam innocent people. I really hope this gets resolved and I don't get anymore charges on my card because I can not afford $200 a month for products I did not order and they wont take back or refund. I am very upset and sad about all this.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be refunded the 89.95 and the 82.92 that was not authorized. I understand about the 9.95 (I will even return the product). I HAVE MY RECEIPT! This is just not fair and not a good business to run scamming people out of something they did not realize by trickery!

Before customers commit to our 14 day free trial, our customers have to affirm and acknowledge the terms & conditions for our autoship program by marking the T&C check-boxes.

According to our records, the customer ordered our skin cream and eye serum on a 14 day trial basis back on 08/17/2017 and paid the shipping and handling fees of $4.99 and $4.97. The trial expired on 08/17/2017 and due to the fact that our customer did not contact us to cancel their trial they were subsequently charged for the original shipments on 08/31/2017: $89.95 for the eye serum and $89.92 for the skin cream. The following month on 10/01/2017 we attempted to charge the customer for new shipments: $94.92 for the eye serum and $94.91 for the skin cream but the charges were declined.

Unfortunately on 10/03/2017 the customer's account was flagged as a chargeback and their subscription cancelled due to the customer filing a dispute with their financial institution, in which their financial institution has ruled the dispute in our favor. At this time we are unable to provide the customer with a refund, we appreciate your understanding.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is a trickery scam. By the time I received my "sample" that I paid for, they already charged my credit card for $89.95 for the eye serum and $89.92 for the skin cream. Luckily I called my credit card company (bc I never ORDERED anything from this Company) and got a new card or else they would have kept scamming and charging my account. I NEVER ordered this product and would like a refund for the 89.92 and 89.95 because this is basically stealing money from my account since I never ordered anything! I will pursue this further if you do not credit my account. I have the receipt that all I agreed to was the sample for the shipping and handling fees of $4.99 and $4.97. This is stealing money from people and I will pursue this further if you do not refund my account. There are other people I have been in contact with in the same situation and if I can gather them all we do and will have a case against you. I have attached my receipt showing what I agreed to pay. If this is not settled I will pursue this further. Thank you.

Ordered Amabella online through my phone on Aug 26. It read free trial offer was $4.95.No invoice. On Sept 9, billed me for $179.87 and wont refund.
On August 26th, I placed an order for a FREE trial offer for AmAbella skin cream and eye serum. I paid shipping and handling. When I received the product, there was a packing slip without ANY phone numbers or ANY PRICE on the products. NO INVOICE!! I thought the product was indeed free to try!! On my next credit card statement, I was surprised to find of $89.92 and $89.95 posted on Sept 9. In the meantime I had just received another box of these products. I called my credit card company to find out where this billing had come from and then found a phone number to call them. They cancelled my subscription and did refund the items from the second shipment that was billed in October. They will not refund me for the $179.87 that they billed me on September 9th. I guess I didn't read the fine print under "Terms and Conditions" on my phone. But WHY doesn't the LAW REQUIRE them to put an INVOICE IN THE BOX that shows the PRICE and explains the "Terms and Conditions" in the BOX! Had I seen such a thing, I would have known what to EXPECT!! This company is PREYING ON CONSUMERS through the use of DECEPTION!!!! I tried the products and they are not that good!!! Even the person that I talked to at the company said so. I did not get results close to what they showed on the website. FALSE ADVERTISING if you ask me!! This product is worth about $10. I had NO IDEA that this was an automatic subscription. The only way this company is making ANY money is fooling people into thinking that they are really getting a FREE TRIAL with no strings attached. By the time you get the bill, it is TOO LATE and they make almost $200 on a $10 item. NO REFUNDS AFTER 14 DAYS. I trusted this product because they got a deal with Laurie G on SHARK TANK. Laurie, I love you but I am done watching SHARK TANK and very disappointed in you if this was your idea!! Check out Facebook.. FaceCreamFraud to see more unhappy customers like myself.

Desired Outcome

They advertised. FREE TRIAL!! NO INVOICE in box to WARN you that you had 14 days from the day you ordered to return the product or be billed $179.87. NO WARNING that you would be signed up for auto shipments. Also NO company address or phone number in the box. How would I even contact them?? I want a refund of $179.87 and would be happy to return the product!!! NO written statement of "Terms and Conditions" for consumer to read upon receiving shipment of package. The product does not perform as described. I received poor cheap products at a much overinflated price so the company can make lots of money at other peoples expense.

I appreciate the company understanding my concerns and that they have refunded my money
I DO believe there should be a law requiring that an invoice with pricing and terms be included in the package!
If this company believes in the quality and value of their product, then they will WANT to be courteous and include a written invoice and details of the susbscription IN THE BOX WITH THE PRODUCT when it arrives at the customers door.
I believe that there are many customers out there who have been duped...like myself... and didn't speak up. This is not a good way to do business. If you truly have a great product... the product practically sells itself.

Thought I was only paying shipping, this company charged me full price, unbeknownst to me, without my consent.no where did it state I would be charged
Order #***, purchased on 08/20/2017. Thought I was being charged for shipling only, which totaled like $11 a few weeks later I'm being charged two seperate amounts, $89.82 &$89.85. I called to cancel these charges but the bank says they have proof I made the purchase and will not refund me the amounts aforementioned. This company is a scam, no where on the email they sent nor the ad that I bought it off of on snapchat did it state I would be charged these amounts.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund for the extra money they charged me without me knowing or my consent.

They are deceitful in their business practices. Otherwise they would not have so many complaints against them. I don't mind paying that much for eye cream skin care, however I'd like to know what I'm paying for up front. Not wayyy later after I was tricked into something I did not consent to. In addition, this company provided false information to my bank who I did try to fight the charges with. But this company already knows what it's doing by lying to consumers that they gave consent when we did not because it's not visible anywhere on the so called webpage they claim. I have the receipt that I received from them, after my purchase which does not state anywhere on the receipt that I signed up for a trial or that further payments will be deducted. Deceptive practices!!! My receipt is totally different from the one issued to my bank, and this was not a point of sale, this was an electronic purchase on line. This company sent me two receipts, they had two opportunities to tell me I was in a trial subcription and would be billed at a later time. Again, this was never mentioned or I would have called to cancelled. This company is tricking consumers for sales. Again, deceptive.

Refund provided

This "business" takes peoples money without authorization, and then claims that you signed an agreement to pay full price for the sample you got. When I told them I did not authorize them to take money from my checking account, and I was going to call my lawyer and the Revdex.com, I got my money back. There is no agreement, all they have is the IP address where you ordered the sample from. The customer service people are rude, and they are told not to give in, but they know they are scamming people. What a dishonest way to make a living!

Offers a free trial with no warning that you have to cancel within 14 days or check a box to continue.
On 10/14/17 I ordered a 'free trial' of their Allure skin cream. My order number is ***. When I went to purchase, the website tried to take me to another screen to purchase another product of which was declined by my credit card before I even clicked 'purchase.' Since I still wanted to purchase the initial 'free trial' while paying shipping only, I authorized the initial transaction of $4.99. Nowhere on the website did it say that I needed to cancel the transaction within 14 days or else my credit card would be charged the full amount of the product. There was no where that I saw on the order screen where 2 boxes could be unchecked before placing the order. They tried to take me to another page to buy another product to distract from any form of terms and conditions that were not clearly stated on the initial purchase screen. This company is a complete scam. I tried to call customer service and the lady I spoke to was completely unreasonable and rude. I have not even opened the product yet and was told they do not offer any returns. On 10/28/17 my credit card was charged the full amount of the product, which is $89.92, and as I stated I did not knowingly authorize this transaction nor did I have any clue that I needed to cancel anything to prevent the charge from occurring.

Desired Outcome

I want to return the unused product, have the company refund my money, cancel all future deceptive ordering in my name or account and never hear from this company again. The company should be shut down in all honesty. They are misleading and purposefully deceptive. The customer service representative supposedly cancelled any future order/ correspondence in my name and/ or account, which I did receive an email confirmation stating my order from 10/14/17 was cancelled but that is the same order they already charged me for that was unauthorized and that they claim they will not refund me for.

Thank you for understanding my complaint and rectifying the situation.

This company is a scam! Ordered my Free trial. Do not remember checking any box for order refills. I received another box of the stuff and sent it back to some obscure mailing address. Shipment did not come with any return instructions or further contact information. My credit card was billed for a product I returned. I found the customer service number which is just a call center. They told me they do not accept returns. Which is ridiculous! The girl was very nice, but she cannot do anything about the refund.

This company is very deceptive! I tried cancelling my order the day I placed it and was told I couldn't, I had to wait to receive the product. The email confirmation states "cancel at anytime". I would encourage anyone who has been scammed by this company to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission! Maybe if enough complaints are filed they will investigate. AMABELLA ALLURE IS THE BIGGEST SCAM OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paid $4.99 for trial size AMABELLA cream and was charged $89 for it and wAs sent another and was charged $94.
I was not told to cancel before 14 days otherwise be charged monthly. Nor was advertising stating 14 day cancellation upon receiving trial offer. I cancelled their services and their customer service was very rude when I questioned my charges to my credit card. I had to eat the $89 charge and pay $35 to the back to stop further payments to this crooked company. I felt like I was scammed.

Desired Outcome

This business is a scam and need to be put out of business. They are selling false advertising and are deceiving customers with deceptive practice To take your money.

What a scam! Ordered the face cream and eye serum. Scammed into an e-magazine that I did not want and then charged a monthly fee. Got the "free trial" of the face cream and eye serum after paying only for shipping. The 'free trial" starts the day you order, not the day you receive the products- that is where I got caught! I called to cancel after reading about how others got charged outrageous monthly fees, but I was 2 days late. After calling and getting transferred multiple times, I finally reached someone who would "reduce" the charges I already received while he continued to try to up-sell me! It took over an hour when I finally agreed to a reduced charge and cancellation! The cream and serum were cheaply packaged and did not make any difference in my skin. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRODUCT AND THE SCAM!! I wish I could give 0 stars.

Felt tricked into buying $180 worth of products. Advertising shows free trial, doesn't explain what they'll charge after.
There was an advertisement to try this eye serum Ama Bella for shipping and handling on tryamabellaallure.com. While I was filling out the form, I was afraid they were going to have my credit card information and didn't finish, exiting and removing my credit card information, yet I then got an email confirmation that says you can't respond to on 10/7/2017. How did they place the order when I removed my credit card and didn't finish check out? Then I received an eye serum AND some face cream, which I didn't want or or know about, looked at the packing slip that was delivered with it and there is no phone number to call so I can question or return. Next thing I know I am contacted by my credit card as they believed there was some fraudulent charges made by a Pyper Investments. I told them I had no idea who that was and they gave me a phone number. It turned out to be this Ama Bella eye serum trial nonsense that arrived. $89.00 each!! I told them I felt tricked and explained that it felt like deceptive advertising. I told her I wanted to call after I received the product but there was no number, that I didn't want the face cream, I never wanted it, thought it was only eye serum. Told her it wasn't even open, still sealed and I would return it. She said I couldn't. She could offer me a discount of 35% to resolve and get me out of my contract. "What contract?" I told her my husband was a lawyer and I would let him handle it. She offered her employee discount of 50% to close this matter. She clearly has needed to do this before or wouldn't be offering 35% then 50% to get me off the phone and get their money. I had to pay $44.97 on 10/23/17I feel completely hoodwinked and know 100% other people are getting sucked into this same exact situation as what they are doing is not clearly posted. She told me "if you click on "terms and conditions" you will see it. Who scrolls all the way to the bottom of the page and opens that when it doesn't even look like something you can click on. The mere fact that I removed my credit card info and exited the webpage since I got nervous about them having my credit card information and they used it anyway (which I don't know how since I removed it and didn't complete checkout) is wrong. I have face cream I don't want or need and had to pay 50% just to not have them try to collect this as an outstanding balance. Feel abused and scammed. If you go to the website it shows it is no longer available as I'm sure others have had this same problem. My credit card wS used when I didn't finish checkout, I have the product to return. Please have them return my $44.97.

Desired Outcome

44.97

However we feel for our customer's concerns and do apologize for the inconvenience, thus we will be providing a full refund for the charge on 10/23/2017: $44.97 for the eye serum for any misunderstanding when placing the order. Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I called because I had a fraud alert from my credit card - not to cancel my subscription. I didn't even know I had a subscription until they told me I did. They only offered the 50% after I was complaining that I felt swindled. The first offer was only 30%. I was really upset that she told me I needed to click on terms and conditions at the and on the very bottom of the page (IT IS NOT CLEAR YOU SHOULD - I am not stupid or naive). After I said I would take further action did she offer 50%. I told her there was no contact information on the sheet enclosed with the items I received. I had no idea why I received face cream, I didn't want face cream, but there was no information to contact anyone or where it was sent from (again I believe purposely). I can only imagine how many people have been sucked into this and didn't know what to do. They returned the money for the eye cream but not the face cream that is unopened and never used. I told them I didn't want it, never ordered it and would return it and they told me they wouldn't accept it. Why am I still paying for this face cream? Their answer was worded nicely o you like they were going to just accommodate me for my inconvenience and that is not at all how it went. Their advertising needs to be changed so that people know EXACTLY what to expect. I can't imagine anyone wants a free trial and then $160.00 unexpected charge. Why is there no contact information on the sheet enclosed with the items so they can be returned within 14 days? I didn't have a choice in my "agreement" to pay the reduced amount. I had products I didn't want, no information of where to return and a lady with an attitude on the phone, definitely not the person who responded above. I wanted to send the products back and not pay for things I didn't want and that wasn't an option. Very shady and deceptive advertising that needs to be changed so more people don't get stuck like I did.

AH Media Group Response

Thank you for forwarding our customer's response,
As we previously stated, before customers commit to our 14 day free trial, our customers have to affirm and acknowledge the terms & conditions for our autoship program by marking the T&C check-boxes.

We attempted to charge the customer because they ordered our skin cream and eye serum on a 14 day trial basis back on 10/08/2017 and paid the shipping and handling fees of $4.99 and $4.97. As a courtesy we will provide an additional refund of $44.97 for the skin cream via check. Here is the refund confirmation:

$44.97 Trans ID: XXXXXXXX dated: 11/21/2017

A check will be mailed to the customer's address in 4-6 weeks. We hope that providing this refund will consider this matter closed and we appreciate your understanding. Thank you

This unscrupulous company uses deceptive marketing tactics, using "free trial offer" to snare customers into $95 a month non-refundable subscriptions.
This company offers a free trial offer of skin cream, supposedly developed by Joanna Gaines of HGTV Fixer Upper fame, to create trust. They claim they will send it for only $5 S&H. After 14 days, they bill the credit card for $89 for that supposed "free trial" sample. With Hurricane Irma and the aftermath, I did not catch the fact that they had billed me. On October 21, I have now been sent another jar of the cream, and they state, when contacted, that I checked a box that supposedly means I agreed to a subscription of this product. I have now been charged another $95 on my credit card. When contacted they first said I could not cancel, then did finally supposedly cancel the subscription. They are stating that I cannot return the product and they cannot give me a full refund, even though I never approved any subscription. They offered a %50% discount on the $95 billed amount, which I declined because I want a full refund of all the money they have charged to my credit card. I am disputing these charges through my credit card company, but these types of marketing practices are unscrupulous and deceptive. The customer service person was quite abrasive and rude as well. If the company uses manipulations and deceptions like this, I would be afraid to use the products anyway, since their whole ethic must be called into question.

Desired Outcome

Complete refund of all deceptive charges: $184.73 and for them to honor their cancellation, with no further charges.

I bought a trail that was advertised to pay $4.99 for just the shipping to try their product. Then I got a charge for $89.92 which was not authorized.
I am complaining about the business practices that Amabella Skincare company used on me. I was on Facebook when, I saw this ad about shown on Shark tank. So, I clicked on it. Then, it advertised to pay $4.99 to try their product. I paid the $4.99 then, I immediately got a phone call from them asking if I wanted their eye cream which I declined to buy.
About a week later I got the product and tried it a few times. This Sunday, I got a charge from Gal*galbskincream for $89.92 which, I didn't recognize. Well, it turned out to be Amabella skincream. So, I contacted them first thing Monday morning to get my refund because, I did not authorize them to charge my credit card account. The representative, Erika, refused to issue my refund and said, I "had 14 day to tell them if I like the product or not." I said" no where on your website when I was buying the trail told me to do that." Then, she proceeds to offer me "another free trial and I would have till November 30th to call them and cancel." I said "no way I don't trust your company and I want my money back that you stole from me." She said, "we can do that and then, went on about the results of the product." I asked for a manager. She got Jason and he said "we won't give me my money back it's in the receipt they sent me and I'll send you an email with the membership cancelation. I told him I "never signed up for a membership all I did was pay $4.99 for a trial of your product." He lied as I new about the instruction to call or email them being on the receipt also I never got this so called cancelation letter in my email.

Below is the email I sent to [email protected] on Monday 10/23/17.

To AmaBella Skin,

I am contacting you because, I did your trial of the face cream by going to a website I saw on Facebook. Your site had me pay $4.99 shipping to try your product. Last night, I got charged $89.92 which, I never authorized the charge in this amount. So, I called to get it refunded and I spoke to customer service and they said they "will not give me back my money." But then proceed to offer me another free jar of the product which I declined and explained I no longer trust your company. I just want my money back. However, your representative, Erika, refused to give me my money and said she couldn't because, it was a 14 day trial. I did not sign up for a trail.
I am extremely angry because, I did not approve your company to charge my bank account. Please review the phone call that was recorded (XXXXXXX). I got that number from the manager Jason (the only manger with that name as I wanted his employe number but, he said "they don't have numbers.") You can listen to all the lies they told me. I have proof that no where in your receipts your company sent to me does it say "you have to call or email to cancel." I never signed up for anything to cancel. All I did was pay shipping to try your product and if I liked it I would have went back to the website to buy it but, now I am mad that your company has tried to steal my money. I am contacting you to express my concern of these bad business behavior that your employees are doing. To have this issue resolved I want you to better train your employees of what your website shows; the emails that you send to customers; and refund my $86.92.

Sincerely,
***
XXX-XXX-XXXX

I also resent this email to [email protected] today 10/26/2017

I have never gotten a email nor a phone call response from them.

I don't want this company to every use my credit card and I want my money back that they stole from me.

Desired Outcome

To refund the unauthorized charge of $89.92 and never charge my credit card again.

The customer contacted our Customer Service on 10/23/2017 and requested for their subscription to be cancelled, which we did. The customer later contacted our customer service on 10/27/2017 and informed us that they had filed a dispute through their financial institution so we then directed them to drop the dispute so we could provide a refund. Unfortunately on 11/01/2017 the customer's account was flagged as a chargeback due to the customer filing a dispute with their financial institution, in which their financial institution has ruled the dispute in our favor. At this time we are unable to provide the customer with a refund, we appreciate your understanding.

Customer Response

After, I made the complaint to you and my credit card company Allure finally contacted me. I explained that I contacted them within me having their lotion for 10 days. They told me that they will return my money if I drop the complaint with the Revdex.com and my credit card company. I am not sure what to do because, I feel that they are doing wrong business practices and other consumers should know about it. Also, my Credit card company already has the dispute open. Do you have any advice?

Thanks

This was advertised as a free product cost was for shipping only. Subsequently, 2 charges were automatically charged to my credit card without my approval. Both charges were billed by 2 different companies! Customer service did not offer that I could return items for credit! I have never heard of this. I had an allergic reaction to the moisturizer and will not use these products. Advertised as product for all skin types. Not!
Product of Marie Osmond? Shame on you!

Got the product, used it for two days and had the worst allergic reaction ever! Had to see a dermatologist! Did not understand the cancellation process. Did not cancel during the required 14 days after receiving product. Suddenly a second supply of the dreadful product arrives 10/25/17. Began making calls 12:30 pm same day. 1:00 pm FULL refund is credited to my credit card. Advice: prepare to spend at least one hour on phone - 888-312-9445,and do not give up! Insist upon speaking to supervisor. You will be told non are available. Precisest! Do not accept any PARTIAL refund. Be adamant! They must follow a protocol and it is like buying a used car!! Be firm. Insist on a full refund and you will receive it! Referring to info on Revdex.com is big time helpful! Go for it! Last person I spoke with was very cordial and helpful.

WARNING!!!!! Buyers please Beware of amabella allure. The products do not give the results as stated and advertised. The products are $99.00 each (way too expensive) . You would be better off purchasing over the counter skin care products or just simply visit a dermatologist.

I thought I was ordering a trial jar turns out not only was I being charged for trial also was being charged almost $90 dollars for subscription I immediately called and cancelled order plus call credit card to advise I did not authorize any subscription and no where did I see any info about it

I received what was promoted as a sample of two products for the cost of shipping ($9.96). Nothing in the written paperwork that came with the product indicated that I would be billed, about a week later, almost $180.00 for these products if I did not cancel my subscription within a certain number of days. I have called twice and received no satisfaction regarding a return/refund. The customer service rep claimed that the website provides the time line for withdrawal of the ongoing receipt of these products. This is shameless and these products are falsley advertised and not worth $180.00!
