The worst moving company I ever had to deal with, they promise false deals and prices initially but after the packing and loading is done they start blackmailing that they would take away the belongings unless whatever they say is paid.
This is not a trusted company but a total scam

Review: On August 2, 2015 I had 3 movers from All My Sons move my belongings. Ultimately, I found the next day that an Ethan Allen mirror was not amongst the items that they had been asked to move. I called the Cudahy office and spoke with a [redacted] who is the office routing dispatcher or something along those lines. While on the phone I asked if the item was left on the truck. He called he 3 men that had moved my belongings and they all denied that the mirror was left behind on the truck. While on the phone with him I said my concern was that it might have broken and the 3 men may have thrown it away. He went to the dump at their work while we were still talking and confirmed that the men had in fact broken the glass and thrown it away at their home office. He said he would call around and get quotes to replace the glass. We had texted a number of times since then but he has since cut off communication. They still have the frame for the mirror which is 33 x 47 inches (approximately).Desired Settlement: I would like the mirror to be repaired or replaced and delivered to my home or for a check sent to me for a comparable mirror $850. They are not in contact with me any longer and have my property in their possession. A resolution needs to take place in the shortest order possible.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].

I am waiting for business to respond.

This company was extremely negligent in their service. They were late in picking up and delivering our furniture. They did not practice safe lifting rules to transfers our furniture to and from the truck. One employee had an altercation with me. They did not bring sufficient supplies to complete the job (wrapping blankets, tape, tools to disassemble beds, etc.), they broke a ceiling fan off of the ceiling when moving a mattress, they scratched some of our furniture, at least one employee that came was completely untrained and ill-equipped to do the job. They took twice as long to load the truck. They did not load the truck properly in order to fit everything properly (we actually left a piece of furniture behind).

Review: I had a moving truck scheduled between 12 and 3 p.m. today. I received a call from their manager, John, at 12:10 p.m. canceling my move. He was very rude, hung up on me and did not refund my $50 deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like my $50 deposit refunded.

Response:

The refund has been credited.

Review: I hired All My Sons Moving and Storage (AMS) to assist with a short Saturday move within the downtown area of Milwaukee. The move consisted of collecting items from a storage unit and a home on the East Side of Milwaukee and moving an apartment adjacent to the Marquette University Campus. Upon delivering my items to the apartment, I noted that a wooden dresser unit had been severely damage. A portion of the laminate dresser surface had been totally ripped away and the edge of the unit was scratched and defaced from one end to the other. One of the movers told me that his partner, who had been on the job for 2 days, was guilty of trying to "move too fast" and had dropped the dresser unit off the delivery truck to the asphalt parking lot surface. The on-site AMS mover contacted his supervisor to alert him of the damage. Without seeing the damage the first thing out of the supervisor's mouth was that the bill needed to be paid in full. He further stated that he would send out a claims handler on the following Monday in order to assess damages and effect repairs. I stated to the supervisor that I was uncomfortable paying the entire amount because it would leave me without any incentive to get AMS back to repair the damage. To make matters worse, the movers were arguing with each other throughout the entire process and ultimately had to be separated from engaging in a fist fight with each other. The professionalism, or lack thereof, that had been displayed throughout the course of the day gave me no reason to trust that this company would make good on its promise to repair my damaged item. When I expressed this to the supervisor he became extremely agitated and stated in no uncertain terms that the bill would need to be paid in full on that day. The total bill was approximately $440 excluding a $50 deposit that had already been realized by AMS. As I continued to express my objections the supervisor began to threaten and insult me. He even stated that I should not have hired AMS if I "could not affrord to pay". I told him that my ability to pay was not an issue. The issue at hand was the poor professional service that I had experienced all morning from AMS which left me without any confidence in their ability to handle this matter in a professional and responsible manner. To that comment I was then threatened by the office manager that if I did not pay the bill in full the Police would be called. I told him "thank you". That comment alone was proof positive of the low moral ethics and standards by which this company operates. I told him that it is my understanding the the Police are involved in criminal matters as opposed to civil disputes. Secondly, if he typically uses statements like that to deceive people into paying bills, it let me know that this company probably strong arms a number of its customers into doing things against the customer's best interest. I would never use this company again and I would warn anyone in the market for moving or storage not to use this company either. At the end of the day, and under protest, I told them I would pay $150 for now and the balance upon receipt of reasonable assurance that my furniture would be repaired or replaced to its condition prior to the AMS damage. To that statement I was once again threatened that the movers would not leave the apartment until the bill had been collected in full. To that statement I told AMS that if these fighting, cursing and disorderly men did not leave the apartment immediately then they would not need to call the Police because I would do so. They left but not before the manger hurled a number of additional insults regarding my perceived inability to pay. Milwaukee residents and businesses should never use this service as it is managed by people who are obviously very incompetent to do what they do. Of course no one has contacted me from AMS regarding my issues this weekend. At the end of the day I probably paid too much and should receive at least $100 refund for the unprofessional way my move was executed and managed.Desired Settlement: Billing refund and apology would be in order to begin. I have no confidence that they will repair the damage to my furniture, however, I should be compensated for this loss as well in the amount of not less than $250.

Review: I set-up an in-house assessment for a long-distance move from Wisconsin to Florida and I really enjoyed [redacted] who was the sales reps for the milwaukee office. She was very thorough and told me that the estimate was a true estimate and the actual bill would be based on the number of boxes used to pack the kitchen, the hours it would require to pack the kitchen and the actual weight of the truck. She also told me that the movers would arrive at 8AM and would be on the road within 4-6 hours after arrival to our house and that 3 movers would be assigned to this move. The day before the expected move I received a call stating that the movers would not arrive until 12-2PM but the movers arrived at 2:30PM and only 2 people showed up. They started complaining about [redacted] and complaining about their own company which was very surprising. They were tired from a morning move and visibly irritable. Only 1 person packed the kitchen and completed the packing in 1/2 the time that was quoted. They used less than 1/2 of the estimated boxes. They did provide 5 wardrobe boxes, however 4 of them were beaten-up used boxes with missing pieces and torn sides. They forgot both sets of mattress covers which was promised in the quote and then "magically" they found 1 set of mattress covers for the queen bed. The movers finished packing around 9PM and then had to park the truck at their main office overnight. We met the movers at our Florida house they made us sign the intake form prior to unloading the truck to state that everything arrived safely. When they unloaded the truck we noted that they used very few blankets and a lot of plastic wrap. We found that nearly most of our furniture had large gashes in them, lots of rubbing-type marks on our tables and chairs and a 1.5 tear in leather dinning room chair. In addition I have not seen a finalized invoice for services and they have not credited me since the estimate was higher than the actual bill.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate working towards fixing the broken furniture and torn leather seat (either as part of refund or information about how to file an insurance claim with their insurance). I would also like to receive a correctly adjusted invoice and a refund since the estimate was higher than actual costs.

Review: I called the company and quoted 3 - 4 hours time to move my one bedroom apartment. The men arrived timely 8 am. By 11 am they were still loading the truck. I called the office and spoke to [redacted]. I wanted it noted that the men were resting in the back of the truck and taking their time to move. They finished packing the truck around noon. The arrived at the new location and would not unpack the truck until I paid the bill in full. Once they unpacked the truck they left. I went into my bedroom to plug my radio clock in and I discovered the double mirror was missing two of the four brackets that held the mirror on. The movers pushed the dresser against the wall and never said anything to me. I call [redacted] and complained. He said he would talk to the movers. I was very upset and hung up. That was on August 26th. I have not heard from [redacted] as to a resolution about my mirror. I have since discovered that almost every piece of furnature they moved had scratches and dents there were not there before they moved the items. I am horrified by how these people operate and get away with it.Desired Settlement: Provide the brackets from my double mirror ( all 4 ) that were on the dresser before they moved it. Take care of the stratches and dents

Review: We hired AMS Milwaukee for a 10 miles move. I asked for an estimator to come in my house to avoid fake phone estimates. The movers came in late (3:30PM instead of 9), understaffed, under equipped and the entire move went wrong. We were particularly disappointed with the overall move, from the fact that the estimator lied to us on may points (timing, China, mattresses, experience of the movers, un-assembly of large furniture), to the lateness and under-staffing of the move forcing us to pay for a hotel room and an unpaid day off work. The rudeness of the office staff and being asked to pay 40% over the estimate only added to our frustration.

By the way a quick look on the internet (http://www.consumeraffairs.com/movers/all_my_sons.html) shows that many other customers have experienced the exact same prejudice (lateness, under-estimation, over pricing, rudeness…), so I’m really convinced that this is a well run bait. I'm adding the full letter as attachement for more details.Desired Settlement: I would expect though reimbursement for the hotel night as well as the unpaid day off on top of the regular damage compensation

Response:

#[redacted] - I am willing to credit back $200 to resolve claim. The original balance for the move was$2,439.88, due to the late start and confusion that occurred on the day of the move (there was a lot more to move than what was estimated), we agreed to only charge the amount that was on the estimate ($1,704.40). This balance of $735.48, in addition to the $200 I am willing to credit back, is a discount of almost $1000, which I feel is more than a fair resolution. If the customer wants to file a claim for any damage done to furniture during the move process, he would have to pay the $735.48 balance before we could start the claims process.

Review: We hired All My Sons moving and storage to move us from [redacted]. We just had 10 items to move, one dresser was scratched and nicked, also our computer desk was completely damaged. We bought this desk at American TV on March 18th, 2013 and paid $231.40. The man in charge of the move was John Medina stated someone from the company will call on 10-15-2013 to talk to us about the damage. No one called us. So on Wednesday 10-16-2013 we called the company and spoke to Justin because the main boss was not in at that time I called. We explained the damaged items to him and he said he was going to talk to the owner and the owner was to call us back, never called. So we called again on Friday 10-18-2013 and spoke to the owner, explained again what happened and he said I can't believe my best crew would do this kind of damage even though he got the damage report. He stated he was going to talk to the crew that moved us and will get back to us. He never called.

We did sign a paper stating that there not covered for pressed wood items. But this was damaged be on repair. We did take pictures of the desk put do not know how to send them to you over the internet.Desired Settlement: We would like our dresser repaired and the cost of the new computer desk we had to buy. We bought the new desk at Office Max the cost was $137.00.

Thank You

This is a response to the complaint [redacted]. The paperwork signed by the customer states that we are not responsible for pressboard. There is a waiver that is signed by the customer in the initial paperwork. We sent 4 guys out to the customer house that would have been rate of $159.00 per hour. We only charged her for 2 man rate $94.00. If the rate was at 159.00 per hour then she would have been charged $524.70. However we only charged her $310.20 for this move. There is a difference of $214.50 that we did not even charge the customer. Therefore, I think this is adequate resolution. If you need anything else please let me know.

Yes we will accept the offer from All My Sons for $125.00. What will happen next?

Review: I hired All My Son’s moving to move items from my old home in Milwaukee to my new home in Kenosha. I had a representative come out on 12/10/2014 to provide an in home estimate. I was quoted an amount of $438 for the service. This amount represented 4 hours of labor for approximately 3,000 lbs., and supplies (tape, and mattress covers). I was advised they will wrap items such as dressers, TVs, and mattresses. The representative Michele also advised the crew can disassemble and reassemble items and that I did not have to remove items from the drawers of dressers as they will be wrapped and moved.

On 12/20/2014, the crew arrived at my home at 9:00 a.m. I walked the crew through the house pointing out items to be moved. I advised the crew I had a bed frame they needed to be disassembled. At 9:10 a.m. I was informed the crew did not have any tools to disassemble the items. I had to locate tools and disassemble the item myself.

At 9:20 a.m. one of the crew members advised that his partner had attended the company Christmas party the previous night and is still intoxicated / hung over. He apologized for his partner’s excessive odor of alcohol.

At 9:30 a.m. A member of the crew asks me for tape so that he can move my dresser, by placing a moving blanket over it with tape to protect the dresser.

At 9:45 a.m. The crew is attempting to move a large dresser onto the truck. The crew advised that the ramp on the truck did not work, so they had to lift it on the truck themselves. The two members (one of which smelled heavily of alcohol proceeds to attempt to lift the dresser onto the truck. Both men were struggling to lift the item. They forced the dresser up and onto the truck breaking off the stabilizing bar and denting the front of the dresser.

At 9:50 a.m., I contacted the shop to advise that I wanted a new crew and an explanation as to why I was not receiving the services I agreed to. I informed [redacted] at that time of the broken item.

From 9:50 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. The crew stopped working and was waiting on the arrival of the manager [redacted].

When I received the in-home estimate I was advised that the movers would wrap all the items to ensure safe delivery. They would have tools to disassemble items and that they are professional movers not contractors and that I had an easy move.

By 9:50 a.m. they had already failed to meet any of the expectations set forth in our agreement. They were not professional, they had already damaged a piece of my property and they did not have any of the tools to do the job or supplies I was being billed for.

[redacted] arrived at 10:50 with a replacement worker and advised that he could fix the damage to the dresser and that he will remove the other employee and that he had provided them with the tools they needed to finish the job. He informed me at that time he would not be billing me for the full price of the move because of the issues I was having.

The movers continued with the additional items. Now using the ramp that I was told was previously inoperable.

The crew member indicated that he doesn’t like to use the ramp because it slows them down, and that the other member that was removed was not strong enough to assist with the move. He himself was working with a broken hand. When I asked him how he felt he was able to move my items with a broken hand he informed me that he had no other choice because the company doesn’t provide benefits for being injured on the job.

At the time of the in-home estimate I advised them of a treadmill that would be included in the move. When it came time to move the treadmill, I was informed that the crew did not have the tools to disassemble the support bars to move the treadmill. I again had to attempt to provide tools to get the item disassembled. Since the crew did not have the proper tools even after the manager came to my property and advised me they had the tools to finish the job; my item had to be left at my old residence because they were not able to disassemble.

The crew arrived at the new residence at approximately 12:50 p.m. After arriving the crew informed me that they needed to handle the billing. In order to do so, they needed to use my personal cell phone because the crew member did not pay his own cell phone bill and is not provided with a company phone to perform the necessary billing call back to the office.

At 12:50 p.m. the crew member contacted [redacted] and [redacted] informed him that I would be charged the full agreed price of $438. At this point they had only performed 2 hours and 50 mins of work. As they had halted movement from 9:50 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. awaiting the arrival of their manager to my property to inspect the damaged goods and remove the intoxicated employee.

No discounts were applied for the lack of proper tools and materials (supplies they charged me for in the estimate)

After making the payment over the phone. They proceeded to bring in my items. They damaged walls bringing in items and leaning items against the walls of my brand new home.

The dresser they previously broke was flipped over and shoved up the stairs. To which the crew member responded “good thing it was already broken today, because now they can fix these other scratches. I asked the crew member, why was I informed to leave belongings in the dresser if it’s too heavy for them to move. He responded with the company doesn’t care about the “help”

The movers left my home promptly by 1:50 p.m. They had completed a total of 3 hours and 50 mins on my move. I was informed by [redacted] he would contact me with on Monday with a person who would fix the damages to my dresser. On Monday 12/22/2014 I sent an email to the sales representative that set up my move. Enclosed is a copy of the email sent. I have yet to be contacted to this day regarding the overcharges of the service and the repair to the dresser.

I have photos of the damages, copies of my call logs, and three adult witnesses who were present during the move.

I feel that All My Son’s moving was negligent in providing the services I agreed to upon accepting their estimate. I also feel they were negligent in providing me with the proper personnel and tools and negligent in causing damage to my property.

I do not feel that I should be billed for materials not used that were included in the estimate. I also do not feel that I should be billed a full rate as they did not perform any disassembly or reassembly of items. They were only at my property a total of 3 hours and 50 mins. They did not wrap the dressers and other items they indicated they would. They also did not provide the mattress bags as included in the materials fee. They caused property damage to dressers, and walls in both my homes. They failed to comply with sending professional sober and capable employees to preform my move. They also required the use of my personal cell phone to finish the billing transactions.Desired Settlement: I would like my property professionally repaired or replaced if it can not be repaired. I would also like a refund for half my bill as services were not performed in a professional manner ( the inxtoicated employee and other with a broken hand), there was an hour delay in my move resulting from the negligence of the intoxicated employee and supplies and services were not provided as included in my charges.

I called around moving and storage companies in the greater Milwaukee area to do my move. We were moving my entire 3 bedroom house and basement. Their estimator Steve came in and I showed him the entire house, all closets and all storage. He estimated 1 truck and 3 men for 1,200 dollars.
Day of the move I was in closing and having someone there in my place to let them in and start moving until I got there. The movers came over an hour late and walked in and swore profusely that there is NO way all this would fit into one truck and they sat around for an hour not moving anything. Just swearing loudly in anger. Then left and yelled job is off. They did try to call me but I was in closing and had other personal issues I could not answer the phone.
I called back and the owner blamed me and yelled at me that it was all my fault. Telling me I put more in my house to move and that I was not clear on what needed to be moved. I corrected him and stated I showed Steve everything that needed to be moved. He said call Steve and have him deal with you. He said he would not help me. I called Steve many times and no response.
I called the owner back and finally got him to help me at least move the big stuff the next day. But, the movers lost a drawer full of clothes. And, just threw $100 at me saying sorry it happens.
This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. I have never in my life been treated horribly, yelled at or swore at as much as I did with this company. Please beware.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!
The movers arrived late and the third thing out of the team leader's mouth was about a gratuity. I've hired moving companies for the last 5 moves I've done and this one ranks with another for absolute worst service. I've never seen slower movers. Two guys to work a dolly. The whole point of a dolly is for 1 person to move several boxes at a time. I understand the movers won't sprint between truck and house but the pace they displayed was beyond ridiculous. One of the guys was so small of stature that he was constantly struggling with heavy boxes and pieces of furniture. The other guy was just plain lazy and not trained. The constant barrage of profanity from 2 of the movers was also a real treat. Rather than simply carry up a dresser to the second-floor bedroom, the movers decided they would use a strap and harness system. I can understand wanting to save their backs but the one guy had not been trained how to use the harness system. The result was a Three Stooges display of bungling that took them 7 minutes to get the dresser up 15 stairs. I timed it. And let's not forget the multiple scratches and gouges in the drywall on the wall of the stairs because the movers couldn't carry things up without bouncing off the walls. Rather than just pull the pins on a door to remove it one of the movers took it off its hinges! The result is now a door that doesn't hang properly. At the end of the move that took at least two hours longer than the same amount of furniture and belongings (2 bedroom apartment) the last time I moved with 2 Men and a Truck, the movers refused to put the bed and dresser/mirror back together at the new home (they disassembled at the old residence). Overall these were some of the most incompetent movers I've ever had the displeasure of seeing mistreat my belongings.
The operations manager at the Milwaukee office [redacted] is a real treat. Despite my call complaining about damage done to my new home and furniture (chest of drawers smashed - I suspect beyond repair) on the day of the move, his response was that we would deal with it next week. Well, surprise, surprise no one from the company called back. I called today to find out that I need to call a different department to begin the claims process. One would think an Operations Manager could have informed me of that last week. I'm not holding my breath that the sales manager who booked the move [redacted] will be responding to my calls to get things sorted out with the price. He guaranteed in writing that the price would not exceed his quote and yet with the wonder team it did. And [redacted] has been right on top of confirming this with the sales manager - hopefully the sarcasm comes through on this. Instead, he gets belligerent on the phone when I complain that no one is calling to make things right. Ah, customer service is writ large with this company. One step BELOW used car salesmen!!!
The entire experience was a joke and I would advise anyone else to avoid at all costs.

Response:

This is in regards to complaint [redacted]. This complaint is inaccurate. Quick background of the move history: The customer was in our storage facility for a time and contracted with us to move his items from Cudahy, WI to Delaware in January 2014. He was told at the time of signing, and upon receiving the estimate, that his items would be on a truck with 2 other shipments. He agreed with the circumstances and his items were the last to be loaded onto the truck. Due to DOT federal regulations, the total weight that our truck is allowed to carry is less than 26,000lbs (with weight of truck and shipment included). After loading all 3 shipments, the total truck weight was 26,891 pounds. Since we were over the legal weight,I called the customer and explained to him that I would need to put some of his items either on a different truck at a later time, or I could deliver the items via UPS. He agreed to go the UPS route and I sent everything I had taken off of my truck to the UPS store for delivery (a $375 charge that I did not charge to the customer). Since the UPS process has been completed, I assumed everything was in order until I heard from the customer until today (4/7/2014). The customer and his wife were both argumentative with me from the beginning of the phone call and continuously tried to talk over me while I was trying to explain a resolution. I told the customer's wife (and later the customer) that I would contact UPS and attempt to find the missing box since I still have the tracking numbers. In regards to the fragile items that were damaged, our contract and policy, which was signed by the customer, clearly states that we are not liable for damage to items that we did not pack. All box packing was done by the customer prior to being placed in our storage unit.

Do not use this service. They cancelled on me on the last minute. They lied and said my wife cancelled on them. My wife never talked to them. Left me high and dry on moving day. They directed me to a competitor who said this was the third time in the past week that they have done this.

Review: Scratched/nicked several of my furniture pieces, asked them to be carefulwith my new leather furniture, couch, table, dresser drawer, my love seat in the rec room has a hole in it, speakers that were packed in their boxes, big nick on it, stereo stand. Also had to deliver to 2 places withthings, bed frames and my book shelve sent to wrong place, held my ex-husbands stuff on the truck until I had to give them some payment, also they took their time at my old house that I was moving from, I also had to carry boxes out for them, being charged by the hour. They scratched the doors of that house. Once we got to my place, they nicked the wall inside, I won't get a security deposit back if I don't fix that. Very careless, very unprofessional. Also, had to back to the house(was sold) to pick up their dolly they left behind. I also called the company to send 2 times a complaint form, which I still have not received as of 2-23. Moved 1-26-14Desired Settlement: $500.00 taken off the Total was $785.80, I can't fix the nicks and scratches, very hard to fix, stereo stand was made by a friend of oursthat passed away, very sentimental to us. I don't want anyone else to haveto go through what I went through, very upset.

Response:

This is in response to the customer assigned ID [redacted]. She has currently filed a credit card chargeback with our company. We are in the process of sending over all documentation stating that the customer authorized charges for services provided. Once we have decision on chargeback we can move forward with resolving the customer's claim. She is more than willing to file a claim with our claims department however, until the chargeback is determined we cannot move forward at this time.

Thanks,

Consumer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Hi,

Trying to rip me off $105 which they overcharged me. The paperwork stated a different amount but they overcharged my credit card . They also rescheduled my move date because they said they were overbooked. Some of my furniture also got scratched. This is a terrible company and I do not recommend anyone to use them.

Review: I moved with this company and my elliptical was broken beyond repair. I was not notified of the damage at the time it occurred during the move. When I discovered the damage I called in a claim and was informed that I have to wait for forms to arrive in the mail, submit photos, and have documents notarize to get the $60/pound. I called the manager to get the elliptical moved out of my home as it is too heavy for me to move, and he said he would charge me for another move, and the only way he could waive the fee is to speak to the owner. He promised to call the next day. That was 3 days ago. I was promised by the driver that I would be refunded $65 as the move did not take 4.5 hours but only took 4 hours, and my credit card was charged for 4.5 hours. I have called customer service several times and have had no resolution to any of these issues.Desired Settlement: I would like $65 refund for the move of 4 hours instead of 4.5 hours.

I would like the elliptical removed from my apartment as they caused the damage that made it inoperative and no longer useful, and failed to disclose the problem in a timely manner to handle the situation.

I would like an expeditious recovery of insurance costs at no cost to myself - a notary costs money.

I would like a customer service agent that is able to respond to these concerns in a timely manner and returns calls when they say they will.

Response:

We used this company back in November of 2014. First of all, they were hard to get a hold of to make a confirmation. Secondly, they arrived late to our home to start the move. All they had to move was the big items--nothing really small because we already took care of that stuff. When they moved our items into our new home, they broke a mirror and did not offer to compensate for this. They also broke a rocker/recliner. We did not realize it until we were moving our furniture. Finally, they charged more than they quoted us. They charged for an entire hour but did not work for the entire hour. Plus, the plan was for 4 people to move us and they brought along a 5th man. I am very unhappy with the whole set up.
