NextDoor is an excellent tool for your neighborhoodIt has lots of options like posting your business and advertisingThe problem with that is people want to constantly post their business on the main page instead of making one post where it belongs in classified or recommendation(where is will stay for others to look up their neighborhood or local businesses) others get offended at the constant posting and some respond irresponsibly out of frustration from continuing to see advertisements which is not the true purpose of the page.and they may put negative comments on that businessHowever, I am happy that people who advertise cannot go in with a lot of response, they can simply remove their ads and do their marketing the way have always did I absolutely love NextDoor as a president of my neighborhood watch and HOA it is a powerful tool to keep your community informed about all kinds of things events, crimes, safety alerts, so for those who are crying about how someone has trashed their business they can simply go in and remove the business and just use the site as it was intendedGet to know your neighbors

Nextdoor.com claims to offer a safe and secure online space for neighborhoods to form a communityThey claim to only allow in users who are "verified" to actually live in your neighborhood, and claim to disallow fake user accountsThis is patently untrue, as our neighborhood has been fighting a Troll who creates multiple fake accounts per day with the sole purpose of harassing, intimidating, and threatening the other residents in our neighborhoodNextdoor.com is unable, or unwilling to deal with this issueAs customers, we have no way of actually discussing the problem with Nextdoor.com as they will not accept calls, and all emails and complaints are met with form letter repliesNextdoor.com continues to advertise their service as safe and secure
Let me start with saying I am totally confused as to how Revdex.com rates Nextdoor with an A+ when of reviews written are negativeSecondly let me say that it is of my opinion that Nextdoor was created solely to give second chance to those who were not fortunate enough to become HOA police, they can now be Nextdoor policeIf anyone gets a bit butt hurt from the truth being spoken on Nextdor, The Nextdoor Police will come to the rescue
They pride themselves with saying they want to be respectful to the neighbors yet they encourage all to act like elementary students and tattle if some one using the word "crap' or "BS"What a bunch of pink panty wearing sissieshave they heard our president speak? This App is for the faux people who get caught up in words that may offend them while losing all reality of what is really happening in their communities
This app is the exact equivalent to a soap opera General Hospital...It allows people, if even for just a moment, to feel like they have a purpose in life
A guy personally attacked me on nextdoor.com and when I defended myself they kicked me off without any warning or contact but yet didn't kick off the guy who attacked me on the website ( Selectively bias )Furthermore the website is very badly managed by people they call "leads" who are selectively biasAlso, when people report your post the website automatically removes your post from what I have heard without even a lead or admin personally looking at the postSo basically a few people who disagree with you can have your post removedWhen I emailed Nextdoor.com they never responded backMy last complaint is they make your profile show what street you live on which is dangerous
Nextdoor has become a troll havenSome background: A Lead is a member that has been noted as contributing or a founding member of a Neighborhood, a Nextdoor community, typically created by inviting several neighbors to the websiteLeads are meant to help stem the flow of trollsThe only tools Leads have is to remove posts from their own neighborhood (and posts that show up in the moderation queue once enough Leads voted) and sometimes that doesn't even workMeanwhile trolls are permitted to continue to harass and threaten in the larger multi-neighborhood feed, which is the most visibleNextdoor claims a Profile Report feature can be used, but the response time is absolutely unacceptable (24-hours, sometimes longer), and the admins that review these posts are sometimes just as rude and arrogant as the trolls themselvesMeanwhile, the trolls that get reported can run unfettered, continuously threatening and harassing members that dare stand up against themThe trolls recognize that the Leads that got pushed into the position of moderating the postings have virtually zero ability to stop them, and can be banned for any reaction towards to constant onslaught of harassment, threats of violence/property damage, and vile verbal attacks towards family membersI submitted a complaint as a Lead toward a group of trolls that was allowed to run unfettered for multiple days and was subsequently banned for "public shaming" , for simply asking the worst of the trolls to behave themselves and reminding them of the rules they agreed to upon joining NextdoorThis ban was given without official notificationI had been moderating on Nextdoor for years at this pointI had to email Nextdoor Support to find out that I had been banned with zero appeal processThey claim it was because I violated their "public shaming" policy for asking the users (trolls) to behave with a modicum of respectInstead of apologizing for an extremely poor experience on their website, they blamed the victim This is absolutely unacceptableNextdoor does not give the leads the tools that they need to police the neighborhoods they helped createNextdoor has several complaints of this nature in their National Leads Forum and my story is far from being the only oneI have given Nextdoor an opportunity to apologize and correct their serious error, but it will not be open indefinitely
