This company doesn't leave you alone I am not a customer, but they've kept sending me emails and now snail mail The snail mail is very deceiving as it comes with a return address from the person who started the group It makes you think the mail is actually coming from someone in your neighborhood I have no interest in becoming a customer of nextdoor and I've made that abundantly clear to the company, but still I receive snail mail which appears to come from neighbors Very deceptive and annoying
I wanted to know a little more about the neighborhood I was moving into, so I used a random address as my own, but when I saw the address verification screen, I realized my mistake and exited the page, leaving the siteThen I got an email from NextDoor saying that they're sending a postcard to this address because I must have "accidentally" navigated away from this pageSo some stranger is going to get a piece of paper saying my name and saying that I claimed to live at their houseI assume that this will alarm both the resident and myselfI did NOT request this postcard, and I am very angry at this company

Nextdoo*** is by far one of the most unprofessional networking mediums I have ever experiencedBy separating neighborhoods and not allowing users outside of those neighborhoods to view or respond to feedback left for local business, they have created an extremely unfair and illegitimate site for locals to attack a business or organizations without not only their consent, but also without a way to view or respond to the feedback with their side of the story or situationI own and run a local audio video business, and gave a local neighbor (within mins of my office) a free estimate on what it would cost to mount a TVShe was a very impatient and unhappy lady from the moment I walked in, and at the end of the consultation, she didn't like my options/pricing to complete the jobI did not charge her for a consultation, which is usually $I left and never heard back from her to follow up and complete the job, which is perfectly fineI am not the cheapest A/V business in town, and I would never expect to be hired for every estimate I give outThe problem is this; a couple days later, she left a negative comment about my business on nextdoo*** for her immediate community/neighborhoodBecause I am not apart of that community, I could not see or even reply to the negative feedback that was left about my businessSo, not only did she get a free consult, and did not hire my company, she went and "trash talked" my business behind my back on Nextdoo***, which is completely unfairAs the business owner, I should be able to see AND respond to ALL comments/feedback left about my company, regardless of what neighborhood it came fromEven Google reviews allows for business owners to see and respond to reviews, allowing them to comment back and explain their side of the situation (not every customer is "right")Nextdoo*** is completely responsible for allowing this sort of slanderous activity to take place, which is likely on the borderline of being illegal, and I truly hope legal actions will be put in place against Nextdoo*** as soon as possible by users/businesses with the power/legal representation to make that happenThe second part is this; I associated my personal user account on Nextdoo*** with my business listing on Nextdoo***I posted a listing (like other small businesses in the area) promoting a holiday special for my businessMy posting was immediately flagged and removed with a response of basically, "you're not allowed to promote your business with postings and such like this"Is that not the whole point of the site? The privacy concerns of many members are valid and Nextdoor is simply turning a bling eye in its efforts to have members (numbers) for potential investors This is why it is so difficult to actually delete your account (you almost have to ask permission from Nextdoor); by only deactivating, you are still a number in the total headcount to investors Your information is readily available to anyone in your neighborhood to export - even though Nextdoor says this is not allowed They have taken no steps to prevent this from happeningThe original idea was novel, but it is quickly becoming nothing more than a 'lost puppy hotline' and *** ***, with bullies - from the top down - running the show
