On Sunday, August 18th I received an email from NextDoor Representative(***) informing me that there had been a report that I was using a "fake name" and my account was suspendedI immediately responded confirming that I was not using a fake name and that I felt I was being retaliated against by the person I reported for abusing their role as a NextDoor LeadThis person has been a lead for years on NextDoor and has been abusing their right as a ND lead for yearsI reported him and because NextDoor notifies leads of reports against them, he took it upon himself to report my account and have it removedI am offended and feel not only was this a horrible thing to do as I am a member of the HOA board and use NextDoor to communicate important and useful information to the community, but how could someone make such a accusation against meFurthermore, prior to suspending my account why wouldnt NextDoor ask me first so I could provide them with any information necessary to prove
Nextdoor.com is an exclusionary, discriminatory service They publish press releases and advertise themselves as a service to bring communities together but they actively discriminate against certain members of the community including registered sex offenders and their entire families It is one thing for a company to perpetuate an idea that people who committed a sex related offense ever in their life should not be allowed to interact with their neighbors or be notified of community events It is clearly another to decide that the entire household of that person is not worthy of that information Nextdoor advertises in their own member policies that user accounts are issued to individuals, not families, couples or households Given that, it is clearly outright discrimination against family members who have committed no crime to exclude them from membership This company is not what it claims to be and does more to DIVIDE neighborhoods by isolating entire families than it does to bring them together

Anytime a neighbor post pictures of your home without permission violates my privacy Nextdoor of Manhassette Community in Arlington Tx said this was fine And did not reprimand the perpetrator be reprimanded the owner of the home This has happened on several occasionsIt is unfortunate the privacy that is violated belongs to people of color
Depending on your community some leads are dirty hypocrites,no one should run a family website then leave ditigal foot steps behind on dirty websites.Nextdoor leads remove church postings,leads troll for Christians and shut them down.Company cooperate through research breaks members first Amendment rights yet they support abortion,gay rights and god is dead.Hoping class action lawsuit will level these people out of business.I contacted the leads in my area to let them know there were no convicted sex offenders on the site and they closed my account down for punishment.They have cleaned out some emails to destroy proof against the behavior of the leads.I write this for others to understand this is a site for lost dogs and crime
I tried to change my address to another neighborhood, upon moving into my new homeI tried to complete verification by credit/debit cardI entered the number and the message read that you couldn't verify the address because the billing address didn't match! Bunk! The Credit Union, which issued the card, has even printed my checks with the new address! They send the bill to the address! So how come you can't instantly verify this? Even the gas company, when I buy gas can verify the zip codeFurther, now I have to wait a full 3-days for a postcard to comeIsn't this a bit egregious?

A message popped up saying my address was flagged as a sex offender saying I was blocked from using the site and that I had to contact local law enforcement to get my address off the sex offender registry for New York StateIt said I could NOT be a member until it was resolvedI contacted the police but they counldn't clear up the member because the registry was based off last name, county, zip codeThe site never gave me information as to what their database had on fileI then called Albany, New York state registry for sex offenders and told them of my shock, concerns and fearsWas there a sex offender living in my building I had no knowledge of, with three children! Another individuals post was deleted and he was "warned" for sharing a very short, had possitive biblical verse for the day
Again, HORRIBLE app, HORRIBLE people mismanaging, and HORRIBLE experiences

As a Founder & Lead, I spent a lot of time setting up, recruiting and editing my neighborhood A recruited over people to the site and shamed my city into participating on Nextdoor After years my account was deleted because I left negative comments concerning sponsors (*** *** *** *** ***) because of personal dealing with each company that was backed by many more comments from my neighbors It's sad that Nextdoor censors its users with such a heavy hand and protects compaines from real opinions of real customers
