Allstate Insurance Reviews (%countItem)

The short version: allstate mishandled my claim, ignores evidence that implicated their driver, and then repeatedly changed their reasoning in decision of fault so that they wouldn't have to pay for their driving crashing into my car on my lane. At one point they actually told me that no amount of evidence would change their decision. When I complained to their HR, she was extremely rude interrupting me to the point I could not speak, and claimed the crash was my fault for not having my coverage despite that having nothing to do with their drivercrashing into me. She even tried to guilt me by stating "can you imagine what would have happened if people in your vehicle were injured or killed?" I then complained to NY Department of Finance. Allstate then provided the DFS's investigation a different version of their driver's statement than what they gave me, and a different version than what my insurance progressive had on record. I even provided Allstate official documentation from progressive proving their driver's statement is inconsistent. They did not care. Allstate then lied by stating the rental car company Enterprise agreed with them despite documentation explicitly stating otherwise. And again Allstate used as defense for their decision of fault that I did not have more coverage. When I complained and told my story about this clear show of bad faith practices on their social media account, they deleted my posts and blocked me (to be clear, I was respectful, cordial, and objective with not a single use of profanity; their agents on the contrary were repeatedly insulting critics). They have not returned explanations for nearly a month since I last objectively laid out to their HR clear breaches of honest practices.

To sum up: they dishonestly handled my claim, refused to consider evidence that implicated their client, had inconsistent records of the accident and their client's statement, lied to the Department of Financial Services in NY, and then censured anything I put up on their social media that honestly and objectively told what happened to me.

What Allstate did was illegal, and they should be held accountable for it. I am concerned by how many more driver's have been treated this way by Allstate's team.

I had a water leak in my home 6/3/2019 at which time I reported to my insurance company Allstate Ins. At which time a came out estimator came out and estimated repair far below market value based on three estimates from local licensed contractors of which I had performed. I made numerous attempts to contact the estimator, Clam Rep, and 1-888 claim office. This commutation was done by phone of which I have records provided by my provider an by written email. Few communication have been returned however I did receive a letter stating I had 20 days to proved the an appraiser that would work on my behalf. that was approximately 30 days ago. The appraiser nor myself had heard back for the insurance company. To date all repairs have been made out of pocket totaling $10k. The appraisal process requested by the insurance company was entered into out of sequence and without good faith attempts to negotiate as outlined in the policy purchased.

To date this company appears to be going out of their way to make this process a difficult as possible and refused to communicate to myself, my son who is working this issue on my behalf, and now the appraiser that we have retained to work this issue on my behalf.

0 Star, in fact -0 stars! I was backed into by someone driving an Allstate customers car who was driving without a license and 7 weeks later they have still not paid out my claim. I had all the evidence that the accident happen and the person driving was at fault, INCLUDING PICTURES of the dude still driving the same car that he told the police he was not driving. Their excuse is they have to talk to the person who was driving the car, who has not and will not be calling this dude at Allstate back. I have since put my car in the shop to fix it myself and I'll be taking them to small claims court. If you get hit by someone with Allstate insurance be prepared to take them all the court to get your money!

I totaled my 2014 *** on Saturday. Immediately filled out a claim and nothing. So I called today to find out that while I had rental car coverage during my last accident it mysteriously was not covered this time and no one can tell me why. Also I am without a vehicle and there will be no review of my claim or inspection of the vehicle for a week. All of this is unacceptable. I went to my agents office Albert *** and he could have cared less. Said I never had rental car coverage, he wasn’t my agent and he couldn’t help with moving up the the appointment for looking at my car. I have car, motorcycle, home and renters policies with him and he acted as if I was bothering him with my problem. Horrible service, and the world needs to know.

Allstate Insurance did not provide rental coverage for Mr. on his prior claim. A coverage adjuster reviewed his policy and determined that since the policy inception date of 4/25/2016 rental coverage was never on the policy. The inspection for the insured’s vehicle will take place on 9/27/2019. The field adjuster spoke with Mr. on 9/26/2019 at 6:08pm eastern time and verified the vehicle’s location. Mr. advised the adjuster that he planned on being present during the inspection to remove personal items. The agent of record for Mr. is *** Financial. Mr. was advised that the agency should not add coverage of any type to a policy and back date it in order to provide coverage for a loss.

I am rejecting this response because: I see no response regarding the horrible customer service I received. I did get a rental car at Allstate’s expense last time regardless of the failed investigation. I will only close this once Allstate speaks to me about the customer experience and finishes this incredibly slow claim process. Also I never received follow up about the promise to backdate my policy. Why would that be offered if it couldn’t be done? Can someone explain that to me? Your response makes it look like I was doing something wrong but it was offered to me. Perhaps your trained agents shouldn’t offer something that is not allowed. Unbelievable.

Sincerely,

Mark

I came across Allstate when I was looking for the insurance coverage for my two cars. I give them a call. The agent was nice so I decided to give it a try. The next day I got email where the agent requested a review about my experience with Allstate. It was unclear to me why they were pushing me that soon… Well a couple of months later the fun began. I noticed that my monthly payment was increased without any notifications or signed agreements. I tried to contact them but “ the nice agent” simply ignored my calls. I would advise to stay away from them.

On 8/17/*** (31 DAYS AGO!) I made my first attempt to file a home insurance claim. I spoke with Allstate and explained my situation. On 8/17/*** at approx. 1530 hrs The home directly behind and up hill from my home (*** Von Braun Avenue ) had a large above ground pool wall burst open and the entire contents of their pool rolled over a wall and emptied into my homes basement via the boiler exhaust pipe gushing into my boiler and causing a massive flood of mud and dirty water in my homes basement. The agent at Allstate claims Dept.( Karen ***) who sounded right off the bat like she had no intention of helping me went on to advise me even after I explained to her the flood was not caused by ground water and was from a pool that I would not be covered and that I needed to fight it out with my neighbor who's pool it was. I asked her to send an adjuster and she again told me I have to basically figure it out alone and chase the homeowner. Me not knowing any better, reluctantly hung up and proceeded to try to " Figure it out " on my own. For days I made attempts to try to hunt down the property owner and when I finally did make contact with their insurance company they explained to me that my insurance company lied to me and stated that the water from the pool in their clients yard could not possibly be considered ground water and would with absolute certainty be covered. Their insurance provider strongly advised me that it was in my best interest that I contact Allstate again. After much research and guidance by their insurance company. I called Allstate back and was again told I would be contacted back and that an adjuster would come. for days and now weeks I have been trying to find out the status with no answers anywhere in sight. I keep on getting told someone would call me back and no one does. The amount of damage this flood has done to my home is already too much to think about and each day it gets worse and worse. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too hard to get claim processed. Cant use print out straight from appointment at the doctor's office or insurance form sent after service. Constantly having to send more forms. Takes forever to get paid on anything. Worst insurance I have ever dealt with!

On 6/8/19 my then 3 year old daughter who weighs 30 lbs was hit by a driver that is insured by Allstate. Thank God she walked away with minor injuries. I got a call from the adjuster assigned to my case saying they were wanting to pay my daughter $2,000 for pain and suffering. SMH her medical bills were at least $6,000. I thought it was a joke considering that my daughter is probably going to remember this accident for quite some time. They are a joke.

According to Alexandra's Insurance Agency rep, Mr. E ***, manager in Dallas, Allstate's Underwriting group made unsupported, inaccurate adjustments to my policy. These were made without my knowledge or consent. Namely Allstate: 1) increased the replacement cost of my home on October 23, 2017 to $206,269 (from $191, 000) after the company indicated they performed an external inspection, but did not notify me, and AFTER I had received a declarations statement and the policy was agreed to and in effect on October 14, 2017. 2) increased the replacement cost of my home again on November 15, 2017, to $309,208. This change was made while the original, agreed-upon policy was in effect and without discussion with me. 3) increased the replacement cost of my home to $314,234 on October 14, 2018. This change was made at policy renewal; however, I was not alerted to the change because the premium cost did not significantly increase.

After the roof loss on April 13, 2019, I discovered these three Allstate errors in replacement cost. Review of my on-line account revealed that the basis of the two latter increases in replacement cost were based on inaccurate details. Allstate's information indicated the house has: (a) three stories (my house is, in fact, one story), (b) a designer kitchen (it does not, in fact, have a designer kitchen but instead is builder's grade with exception of granite countertops) and (c) two luxury full baths (it does not, in fact, have two luxury baths but instead has builder's grade bathrooms). No interior inspection was conducted by Allstate at any time. Mr. confirmed on July 13, 2019 that Allstate's underwriting group had no evidence to justify any replacement cost increases. He also indicated he inquired with Allstate's Risk Management group, and that group found no documentation of authorization to increase the replacement cost.

Re: Complaint against Allstate
Our Client: Sheran M. ***
DOA: 4/25/19
Insured: Harry ***
Claim #: ***

Allstate has accepted liability for this claim, yet it has failed to issue the $1,000.00 deductible payment for damage to Mrs.’ vehicle. Our office contacted Allstate on various occasions inquiring about the status of the check, resulting in different representatives giving a different version for each call. One rep claimed that a check was issued to our client’s address, but she could not provide tracking or confirmation number. Another said that a check was reissued to the client. Today, Jared (another rep) stated that they had sent a check to *** carrier (***). *** adjuster (Andrea ***) explained to Allstate that they never received a check. The Allstate rep said that no check was issued to anyone because they did not have Mrs.’ apt number. The client has been waiting over four months to be reimbursed for the deductible she paid out-of-pocket.

My kids (one has been under age of 18) were rear ended when they stopped at a stop light, by a driver who had Allstate insurance. Other driver so Allstate was at fault, my kids had medical complaints including of their back neck and lower backs. They had visits to medical care providers. I have followed up with good faith to complete whatever Allstate asked for as paperwork but Allstate claim adjuster slowed down and stopped communicating with me, playing down the injuries and health claims as I learned claim adjuster is no longer with the company. Especially for the my kid who is still not 18 and I never closed her claim or released it. My multiple attempts for the many months to contact with Allstate leaving messages etc arent returned. I am a disabled person and low income, I feel like Allstate is knowingly Pushing us back in bad faith.

I can’t say how utterly disgusted I am with Allstate and the customer service they provide or should I say fail to provide. I have had my roof inspected by 4 separate professional companies and all have stated that my roof has wind damage and that it is not in any sustainable condition to just repair specific shingles and that it requires a complete replacement. The integrity of the rood is brittle and was inspected by Allstate twice now. The initial inspection was conducted by a third party ( someone that doesn’t even work for Allstate) in which wrote a report stating there was no damage what so ever and took 100 pictures. When speaking with the claim adjuster Stephanie in the catastrophe dept. She initially denied any damage but when I clearly pointed out through the pictures they took there was damage from wind she agreed to replace 5 shingles then quickly stated that they would be less then my deductible and that I would have to pay for them to be replaced. When I told her my contractor said that the roof needs to be completely replaced and that it is to brittle to just repair a few shingles. Allstate then told me to take more pictures and resubmit. I had my contracted to so and then was told they couldn’t make out the pictures that they were to blurry. After trying to call countless amounts of times and leaving message after message and never receiving a response back I finally called and spoke with someone else in the department. They read the notes that Stephanie out and that the paperwork said they were waiting on the contractor to provide more pictures and that the estimate was for 2 shingles - I have never seen such terrible service from a company that parades themselves on the idea of telling it’s clients that they are in good hands. Another storm occurs and caused more damage in addition to the damage already ( that Allstate claimed want there). So I open another claim - Here is the next experience so I called another roof contractor and explained what I just encountered and he conducted an inspection of my roof and he as well as another colleague found that the roof had wind damage pre existing and current from this recent storm. When the Allstate adjuster came out Johnathan Gein, he brought with him an inspector as well. ( which he at no point even informed me of) but proceeded to do the inspection while My roofer and the inspector inspected the roof - both finding 29+ points of damage in addition to this the inspector slipped and almost fell because the shingle gave way and cracked off the roof as he was walking up it. All of which were clear indications the roof is not repairable. The Allstate inspector did three separate stress tests on the roof and wrote in chalk F indicting it failed. After all of this the adjuster from the ground yells at his inspector to not inspect the shingle by lifting them up - he was trying to control the level or dept that his partner was preforming. After the roof was finished the adjuster went up the ladder but did not scale the roof as the inspector had he went to the closest spot and claimed that the roof was repairable and that the damage shingles would be the only thing that Allstate would address. However the inspector and the roofer both showed him the roof was not in a condition to be patched and needed to be completely replaced. He refused to scale the roof and look came back down and called my roofer a liar right in front of me and then as my roofer began to say how unprofessional that was I also stated that the roof has been checked by several professionals and has all been the same determination. Which is when he turned back to my roofer and stated yeah that’s because they are just in it to get money so they all lie. He then said there is nothing wrong with my roof and I stated his own guy damaged it because the shingles gave way. He refused to acknowledge that and so I said to him you are really going to deny what just happened and finally said well we will add that shingle only then. I was so upset, that this guy could countlessly deny the obvious. Not only that but to be as rude and unprofessional as he was through out the entire time. I asked him because he said it was his decision to write what he quotes and that he was not replacing the roof I asked him to go up on the roof and check the roof like his colleague did and he refused. He said the one spot he checked was all he needed to determine the rest of the roof was fine. He didn’t want to go up there because he was afraid he would fall like the other guy almost did because the roof is brittle. Throughout this entire conversation my roofer was polite and was trying to explain this to him and each time he was extremely rude and called us both liars I then asked for his supervisors name and number which he provided and I proceeded to call right then and there. And wouldn’t you know she didn’t answer her phone ( just like the last one) I left a few messages for her she clearly stated on the voice mail she was in the office - no response - This is the scam insurance we pay for they take our money tell us we are covered. And when we need it they give you the run around, send adjusters that rather then do their job with integrity call you a liar and refuse to uphold their end of the contract. This is disgusting and a pathetic company and anyone interested in signing with Allstate you are paying for nothing!!!!! Johnathan Gein It is very clear you intention is not to do what is right and your attitude and ethic and manner you present yourself is appalling.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: My dispute against Allstate has not been resolved. Their response did not address my complaints nor did it offer a satisfactory resolution. Also, today is September 11, 2019, yet their response to my Revdex.com complaint states they have a record from September 26, 2019. How can this be? It is clear that Allstate is accustomed to providing false information as they did when they spontaneously increased the basis of my property value based on unjustified, false details about my home without my consent during my policy term. This resulted in my deductible being nearly $2,500.00 more than it should have been. Allstate’s error has caused financial hardship for me and my family. Allstate’s lack of care has real consequences for busy consumers doing their best to live their lives and provide for their families. They should have a duty of care by which lying and misinformation isn’t tolerated by their regulating agencies and consumers.

Sincerely,

Catherine

I filed a collision claim on 8/22/19. To start, the first person that I spoke to, was half asleep it seemed, then hung up on me half way through the filing process. I received notification that my claim was filed, however someone wont be contacting me until 8/30/19 through 9/10/19. I called back the next day to see why it would be so long, first person told me its due to the holiday weekend coming up, second person told me its the area that I live in (AND with that they had my old address from 4 years ago listed as the inspection site, even after confirming it multiple times). Because I called back, it essentially "reset" my claim status and now someone wouldnt be contacting me until 9/3/19 to 9/11/19. I called my local office today, where I initially set my policy up and she was of no help. In fact she told me, unfortunately because of the storms in the area, my vehicle is not as important as other home owners claims in the area. She hardly listened to me, instead laughed and talked over me, while I described the customer service I have been receiving. She told me I can write a letter to explain my frustrations and sent a text with the address. After getting off the phone with her, the claims department called me to let me know my "claim is still in que and someone will be contacting me"...I expressed my frustration around as it is 15 days later and no contact. All she said was "Im apologize, but someone will be in contact with you". When dealing with other insurance companies, its been handled in days. My local office is located in Cottage Grove, MN - claim was filed with the claims department.

I was involved in an auto accident on the August 14, 2019 in San Francisco, CA. While at a near stand still in post-workday traffic, a vehicle - insured by Allstate and operating as a *** (with a passenger) - was attempting to bypass the traffic by illegally driving in the bike lane (heading southwest on Townsend St. just past 4th St.). This vehicle attempted to merge abruptly into the actual traffic lane and sideswiped my vehicle's passenger side fender with the rear driver's side of their vehicle.
I reported the incident to my insurance company, as well as filed a claim with the at fault party's insurance - Allstate.
After taking my initial report, I never heard from my Allstate adjuster, Cory *** () - again. After three weeks I was finally able to get a hold of a representative who informed me that the adjuster found me to be 100% liable citing my "failure to maintain control of my vehicle". I was also informed that his notes said he attempted to contact me and left a voicemail the day before.
Cory *** never attempted to contact me and left no such voicemail. Nor did he attempt to inform me of his 'decision' in the matter. Nor has he contacted my insurance company to cover the damage I supposedly did to his client's vehicle.
It appears Allstate wants to sell their insurance, but ignore any claims in hopes they will just disappear.
I can still not get him on the phone or to respond to any email which makes disputing the outcome through the liable party impossible as he is the only one who can change the determination (according to the Allstate representative I talked to this morning - 09/05/2019.

I have experienced severe issues with allstate insurance. Recently, I submitted a complaint about an allstate agent to the Revdex.com in Maryland. That agent literally told a bunch of lies in his reply to the Revdex.com in Maryland. As a result, I contacted allstates executive office in Illinois. I spoke with someone named Corrine who claimed my concerns were documented. I tried to ask some further questions and at which point Corrine immediately changed her tone and started talking down to me like I had done something wrong. When I continued to try and speak, she continuously spoke over me and did not allow myself to say anything. After being disrespectful towards myself, she then told me to never call her again and then hung up on me. I have attempted multiple times to reach someone else in the allstate headquarters office ever since but they are giving me the complete systematic run around. It is so absurd that my allstate agent contacted them on my behalf and he was told to stay out of it. I have no doubt at this point that Corrine is telling everyone in that office to ignore me. It also seems they are going out of there way to avoid me and that leads me to believe that they're trying to cover something up. Additionally, corrines disrespectful behavior towards myself combined with nobody in that office responding to me leads me to feel attacked and even threatened in the sense that allstate is avoiding me because they plan on coming after me somehow. This is extremely uncomfortable for myself. As a result, I would like corrine's manager to personally call me and discuss this further in what I hope will be an attempt to find a more mutually acceptable solution rather then what feels like a very one sided attack against myself. Sometimes a caring person who is willing to accept responsibility can go a long ways towards solving problems. That's what I need right now. Someone to step in and work with me to calm this thing down

One star is because you can't submit without....Buyer Beware
Allstate should change their slogan to WE DON’T PAY CLAIMS OUR INVESTOR’S ARE IN GOOD HANDS!! On May 3, 2019 our area of Virginia, experienced an extreme weather event comprising heavy rain, high winds, and large hail (golf ball to baseball sized). All insurance companies declared the storm in the Stephens City area a catastrophic event. Multiple neighborhoods had their roofs replaced. We called two roofing companies to get their recommendations. Our Property at 135 Nightingale Avenue, Stephens City has an approximately 10-year-old shingled roof with a second layer of shingles underneath. Both companies said we had extensive storm damage. When they heard we had Allstate they both said Allstate was one of the worst companies to work a claim with. Allstate sent their third-party company, Hancock Inspections, to inspect the roof on June 18, 2019. That report indicated that there was a total of 28 shingles that had been blown off the roof due to high winds. (The estimate from them was set lower than our deductible). However, the report indicated the rest of the shingles passed the ‘brittle’ test. We were not satisfied and requested a reinspection. The re-inspection was completed July 24, 2019 by an Allstate inspector. At the site, their inspector indicated 14 more shingles had blown off the roof in only 34 days (Obviously we have an on-going problem caused by the initial storm). The Allstate Inspector indicated to us he was making a recommendation for roof replacement but said he could not ‘make any promises.’ When we received the new claim estimate, we were quite surprised to find Allstate now indicated a replacement of only 42 shingles, not the entire roof! With an additional 14 (reported) shingles being blown off the roof in just over 30 days, we have an obvious ongoing problem with failing shingles. What happened from the time the on-site Allstate Adjuster spoke with us and when we heard from the Allstate Adjuster in some office cubicle who never was on our roof? We are extremely disappointed with the way Allstate (the ‘you’re in good hands’ people?) have conducted themselves. They have proven to us that protecting their client’s property is not their priority. Although our local agent, Jennifer ***, has made herself available and followed up on our claim, she has no power to change the outcome!

Allstate has repeatedly denied roof after two separate contractors indicated the roof needed to be replaced. Their adjuster did not get on the roof but was there with a third party. The adjuster state the prior estimate was the same. How is tat even possible after there gas been numerous shingles in the ground since their first inspection due to their delay on acting on this claim. Consumers should be aware of this company and throughly research Allstate's practices with consumers and read their reviews.

We have always had a good experience with ALLSTATE. Only had to file one claim in the past 10 years or so but it was fixed and paid for. Staff have been friendly and no complaints!

On the 23 October 2017 I purchased a used vehicle from the *** dealership. at the time of purchase the dealership offered the GAP protection. I have always paid for GAP protection on all my vehicles, however this time my insurance agent at the *** agency, verbally over the phone, told me not to purchase GAP from dealership and that going through Allstate would be better for myself and my payments. I have been a long time member with Allstate, 11 years, so I was sure to trust what information she gave me.
My jeep was in a wreck in June and was considered a total loss. when all paperwork was completed it was brought to my attention that the GAP protection had been dropped just 30 days before. I have contacted the agency and they could not resolve my issues to this matter. my argument is that the agent had "assumed'" it was a new vehicle purchase and had GAP only covered for the 3 years from vehicle year not purchase date. the bank is now requesting 5000.00 to which would have been covered by GAP.
This was no fault to my own as more so to the agent that inputted the incorrect data for coverage. Allstate has stated that a letter was sent stating coverage dropped but I did not receive such letter. Also find it ridiculous that I would have purchased GAP protection from year of car and not purchase date. Insurance agent, again, inputted wrong information.
There was another issue back in 2009 with Allstate when Mr. Manuel *** received my escrow check and never deposited into account. Mr. had stolen money from me and others in Corpus Christi. Allstate never resolved that issue and I had to pay 1200.00 out of pocket. Again Allstate never took responsibility.
I feel Allstate is not managing there agents qualifications more closely and letting issues like this become a problem for customers who pay on time properly and then to receive damaging news such as these, due to improper management and input of data. In other words incompetent agents not fully capable of doing their job
