Review: American Disposal took over my old garbage service when they retired. They no longer took larger rubage including yard wastes and small home repair waste. Customer service was good ole' "customer no-service". Called the center in [redacted] and that won't change unless you can get them to call a local provider. Lost my business after two missed pickups in Dec near Christmas (lots of trash). My bill lasted until Dec 31st of that year and I didn't pay for next pickup (Jan) because I thought we had completed our business. I put out trash for the next three weeks just in case they came by until my new service came by to allieviate my garbage dilema until my new company took over my route and of course my garbage was never picked up. I called soon after to have AMERICAN DISPOSAL pickup their cans and got slapped with a pickup fee (expected by a crap nationwide service) and then a second fee for January. So currently they are charging me for picking up their cans (expected) but my problem is they still want to charge me for January, in which they didn't do a damn thing (except collect their can which I understand).Desired Settlement: Exclude your January fee and I'll pay your garbage can fee.

I have reviewed this complaint along with our records on this account. We were not notified by the resident in January of any service related issues. I was able to get assistance form the driver about services in January, he did confirm he did not service. I have credited the month of January back to this account. A refund for $23.39 will be sent in the next 4 weeks.

Review: American Disposal has failed on numerous occasions over the past 6 weeks to provide us with the weekly recycling service we are forced to pay in advance for. I have had to personally spend time on the phone at least 3 weeks now (having the issue every other week) with their inept customer service personnel. I have been told each time that our service would be provided that day only for our recycling to not get picked up. It is affecting about half our neighborhood and we are forced to leave unsightly cans out for days in the hopes that they will pick it up. We are also forced to pay for these services ahead of time and for 3 months. We are not getting the service we have paid for and certainly not in the time promised. This is in effect a breach of contract as we have fulfilled our end of the agreement by paying in full. I actually had a customer service rep tell me today that since I left home at 7:00am and called at 8:00am when their offices open and could not confirm to them that our recycling had still not been picked up that she would not send the info to dispatch to send out a driver. She had thed nerve to suggest I leave my job at a school to go home to see if the recycling had been picked up. Who does that? I then requested to speak to a supervisor who said they would be out today and as I am writing this at 6:30pm that has not happened.Desired Settlement: Obviously to pick up my recycling on Mondays as scheduled and to refund us on our next bill for the 2 months we have been inconvenienced as a goodwill gesture.

Review: Since my service was transferred to American Disposal from [redacted] in September my recycling has not been retrieved, even though I have paid for this service. I have called on numerous occasions to get this situation rectified, and even called on Wednesday, 10/22/2014 (my service day) at around 3pm to let them know that the recycling had still not been retrieved. They assured me, as they had done previously, that I was on the service list for that day, but low and behold, my recycling trash has still not been collected. I also requested that the supervisor refund my money for the days that they did not provide service, she said she would call me back to discuss this but she never called me back. I want my recycling picked up and I want a refund for the month of October.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

They need to pick up my recycling and provide me a refund for the month of October since they did not service my property for that month.

Review: We moved from [redacted] Marietta, GA 30068 on 24 Nov. 2013. My wife had called American Disposal a few days before concerning turn in instructions for our trash can and recycle container. She was told to put them out by the road and they would pick them up. We did as instructed on the day we left however, we started receiving bills in the amount of $197.33 for the cans. I called American Disposal and they had on record that my wife called but they said the cans were not at the edge of road when they went by. We did as instructed; we do not know what happened to the cans after we left. I have talked with AD several times on this and one of our invoices showed we were charged for insurance? What's the ins. charge if not for this? Also, if you don't pay insurance is this what happens? Although we did as told and I do not feel responsible to pay for the cans, due to harassment by [redacted]{American Disposal's collection agency (who I also contacted)}, I sent $197.33 to American Disposal from my [redacted] Bank acct (copy attached) on 6 October 2014. Although I paid the erroneous debt, I am still being harassed by American Disposal collectors.(Atty letter attached). 1. I want a receipt from American Disposal showing the debt was paid. 2. I want a refund of $197.33, since we followed instructions. 3. I think American Disposal has a scam concerning the pick-up of cans, especially if the consumer has already moved. My husband is a Disabled Veteran and we don't deserve this harassment over cans we made all reasonable efforts to turn in.Desired Settlement: 1. I want a receipt from American Disposal showing the debt was paid. 2. I want the bill collection actions stopped. 3. I want a refund of $197.33, since we followed instructions. 3. I think American Disposal should be investigated in running a scam concerning missing cans, especially on pick-up if the consumer has already moved. Audit the can numbers against the records.

They did have insurance and that insurance covered if carts went missing / stolen. I have credited the account in the amount of $200.00 and will be processing a refund. Review: Dear sir or mam, I'd like to make a complaint against the American Disposal Services Company. When I started my business on April 1 2012 the previous owner had already subscribed to their trash disposal service. I started noticing the price of their monthly trash collection fee increasing sharply, so I called them to see if they could lower the price to what the other companies were offering. They said that they could not so I canceled that subscription so I could hire a cheaper company to remove my trash. In response they sent me a contract that I did not sign and charged me $507.78 for breaching the contract I did not consent to. I sent them my business license to prove that I had started business there on April 1 2012 yet they would not yield. I do not understand why I have to pay for something I did not sign for. I am rejecting this response because:When we started our business and signed our contracts nowhere in there was anything about a 5 year contract with the disposal company and definitely not a mention of a cancelation fee. Nowhere in anything we signed says that we agreed to this contract so, simply because the previous tenant signed a contract does not make us liable in any way for this even if there is a proration clause.

Review: My trash and recycling is usually picked up on Friday mornings. Last Friday, April 11, 2014, my trash and recycling was not picked up; neither was my neighbors. I contacted the Company and spoke to numerous call center representatives. All were very unpleasant to speak with and confrontational. I asked to have my account refunded since they did not provide the service I paid for. I was told that if I put my trash out they would be by in 24 hours to pick it up. I agreed to this. I received a phone call today, April 15th 2004, stating that they would not be out to pick up my trash and that I did not have my trash out last week. My trash was out from Thursday night until Sunday afternoon and no one ever came to get it. I asked to speak to a manager and no one would speak to me. They allowed me to leave a message with a [redacted]. I asked to be put on hold until the manager was free, I was put on hold to see if the manager was free. The associate returned and informed me although I was just on hold, that she was unable to put me on hold until the manager was free because that was a call center and they don't put people on hold...

We have been working with our crews and supervisors to ensure collection. In reviewing the account, a call was made to [redacted] on 8.16.14 @ 8:28 AM by myself. I left a message returning his call on the phone number that was left, [redacted]. Lastly, I will be issuing a credit for $5.00. Again, we do apologize for the service provided. [redacted]

I have been a loyal American Disposal customer for the past 3 1/2 years. I moved 4 months ago and just paid my first received invoice since moving and few days later I received a much larger invoice with a large past due balance. I was confused and contacted them right away. The Customer service rep I spoke with was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I can not say the same thing about her supervisor. To start, they said they never received any payment from me. I sent the bill I received and my bank statement that showed I paid American Disposal on a certain date the same amount that was on the statement. Her supervisor said that my bank statement was not proof of payment (really?). Then I was told that this was the old account from which I moved from 4 months prior and they now see my payment. I am not sure why I was billed for this 4 months after I transferred my service, but I was and it was the only bill I have received since moving with the exception of my large bill with a past due balance. Both myself and the customer service rep understood the confusion. I asked if my account could be noted that I will pay the FULL balance in a week and a half as I am on a tight budget and am paid every 2 weeks. Remember...I thought I had paid the bill a week ago. After 3 1/2 years of being a loyal customer and paying my bill and even though there was obvious confusion with this entire situation (on my end and theirs) the supervisor would not note my account and my service will be canceled within a week. My past job position was a customer service supervisor and I currently work as the director of operations. I would never myself or allow my staff to do anything less than go above and beyond for our customers. We know, without our customers there is no company. I am appalled and so disappointed with the treatment from my sanitation company that I have used for this many years.
