We have reviewed the complaint and here are our findings.  Since he purchased the business from the previous owner the trash contract transferred to him.  See the miscellaneous proration of the contract that explains this information in detail.

We have reviewed the complaint in question.  We received a call on 1/7/14 stating their trash cart went missing on 1/2/14.  We check with our field crew and were advised we did not take the cart in question.  We will not replacing a cart we did not...

take.  This is an unfortunate issue however we will not be responsible.

I called the company numerous of times with the past year in regards to the company employees "throwing my personal trash can" in the parking space, lid 3 - 5 ft from the bottom of the trash can. I am sending pictures regarding the last 5 - 6 weeks (Thursday) trash pick up day.

The recycling bins are thrown in other residence yards and in close to people cars.

Couple months ago, I politely asked the driver to ensure the employees do not throw my trash can, and put top/bottom replace together instead of throwing it caused scratches and etc. As, I continued to mention to the driver he looked at turned his head and drove away without allowing me to address the problem. At that time, I contacted the main office and asked to speak to the supervisor the lady who answered the phone stated that she will take care of the matter.

Review: I called to cancel and schedule my last service. There was no service provided by the company although I was billed for the service. I as well as my wife was standing outside when the garbage men came and did not pick up a single item of trash. Upon watching this I called the company, and was informed they would look into it. Shortly after that I was called back by the company and told that I did not schedule a special "pick up" and that they attempted to pick up my items. I discussed it with the person the fact that I watched them not pick up a single item, not too mention the fact that I called the previous day to discuss my last service. I was told that my conversation the day prior was not me scheduling a "special" pick up. I requested that since not a single item was picked up that I should not be charged for the lack of a service, I was told they would need to discuss with a manager about this. I received a call later from the company that stated they were going to charge me anyway because they "attempted" a pick up, this is despite the fact that I stood there and watched no attempted to pick up any of my items.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the charge for the service that was not provided, as well as a change in policy. If a customer calls to schedule a last service it needs to be assumed that there will be more items then a usual trash day and that the call is in fact scheduling a"special" pick up.

Review: American Disposal services charges for services not performed according to their service agreement. On a number of occasions that have failed to pick up both trash and recycling at our residential location. In response to a verbal complaint filed with the company, we were told that "there was nothing that they would do to remedy the problem and that they would try to make sure that they were there the next time." When a discount was requested related to the service dates missed, the response was there was nothing that they would do about the situation.Desired Settlement: An acceptable resolution to the situation would be to have a truck come the following day (when the complaint is filed) to pick up the trash/recycling or discount the bill to account for the lack of service. The answer that there is nothing that they are willing to do is unacceptable.

Review: my community has signed up in a group discount , January 2013, with American Disposal Services costing $13/ month to homeowner. We already had American Disposal Services for my trash pick up services since August 2007. They were charging me $24/ month. I called to get this discounted price and I was told to pay $72 for january-february-march and next quarterly billing cycle will have my discounted price listed and refund will show on that bill. This march I received next quarterly bill stating to pay again $72 and they had not given me discounted price and refund on first quarter bill. I called them again to give me refund and new discounted price. Again I received same answer to pay bill $72 and they told me will not be given refund.Desired Settlement: I want my credit to my account for first quarter bill price adjusted to $39 /quarter instead of $72, and give me future service discount that my community is getting.,

Review: Our neighborhood took over the HOA from the builder this spring (2013). Our HOA bidded out and contracted trash services with another company. Prior, many of us had individually contracted with American Disposal. August 2nd, 2013 was scheduled as the day American Disposal was to pick up their trash and recycle cans. I placed my cans in their usual spot the night before as I normally do. When I left for work the morning of August 2nd, the cans were still curbside, and when I returned from work, they were gone. Three months later, I received a bill for $200 from American Disposal (yesterday, 11-13-13) stating the cans were never received. I called American Disposal today (11-14-13), and they said my cans were never picked up. Well, somebody picked them up. I asked why didn't they call me over the past three months regarding their cans, but they could not provide me with an answer. I asked for them to recheck with the crew and double check their inventory because I'm sure picking up a bunch of cans can sometimes be confusing, but they refused. They did offer to decrease the charge/bill to $100, but I still feel that is unreasonable.Desired Settlement: Write off $200 charge

Review: After repeated requests, company has repeatedly refused to mail or email billing statements and is now making dunning calls for bills I requested but never received. Company staff is uniformly arrogant and incompetent, and the ONLY time I've ever received a bill from them was from my attorney's demand. In addition, company failed to notify me they had discontinued service and ILLEGALLY entered my property without notification or permission to take trash container.Desired Settlement: While I most sincerely hope this company fails and goes out of business as they so richly deserve, I will be satisfied if they mail or email me ALL billing statements since beginning of "service" until they terminated the service so I can pay what I owe them (which will not necessarily be what they claim). service setup was that our trucks would drive down his pipe stem for the collection of

his trash. In order for us to provide

this type of service, all homeowners

on the pipe stem must agree. We quickly

found out all the other homeowners bring

their trash to the top of the pipe stem for

service and resented our truck driving down the pipe stem. Because our truck was not welcome to drive

down the pipe stem, on August 23rd, 2013

**. [redacted] was notified his trash would need

to be placed at the top of the pipe stem alongside the other homeowners’ trash. At that time, **.

[redacted] became upset, decided to cancel his service and attempted to find another hauler that would drive down the pipe

stem. Since he was canceling his service and upset about the

situation, he demanded that I removed all charges relating

to his August trash service, which I did.

On August 26th 2013, **. [redacted] called the office and spoke with me

directly. At that point, he asked to

have his services reinstated. He informed me he could not find another

hauler to drive down the pipe stem. I restarted his account with the

condition that trash would need to be placed

at the top of the pipe stem like the rest of the homeowners.

We received a letter dated March

1st 2014 stating “After consultation with my attorney and based on

the utterly indecipherable and illogical invoices (listed dates) you FINALLY

provided-all at the same time-after more than a dozen requests, AND your

failure to provide either a business reply envelop or a company address on your

invoices, my check for $102.00 is enclosed as FULL AND FINAL payment for all

services rendered as the end of the 1/15/14 billing cycle. I do not owe

the invoiced amount for the period you failed to provide services originally

promised”.

In regard to his letter, we

accepted **. [redacted]’s final payment and cancelled his account April 8th, 2014.

We removed all charges from April 9th 2014 through April 30th

2014. To finalize things and zero the account out, we even removed

charges that were owed to ADS for services that were performed under the

understanding of August 26th, 2014 conversation.

Lastly, in response to

his accusation that we illegally entered his property, we

did not go on **. [redacted]’s property to retrieve our

carts. We removed them after services

were provided on April 8th, 2014 at the top of the pipe stem where collection

took place. All charges have been removed, nothing is owed.[redacted]

Review: On Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013, American Disposal picked up our trash can. However, when I got home, my trash can was missing. I called American Disposal, they told me I could pay them $75 to replace the trash can or I could buy my own. They also gave me the serial number of my trash can and told me to ask my neighbors to check my serial number against the ones on their trash cans. I discussed with my 4 most immediate neighbors and none of them have my trash can. The one trash can that is unclaimed in the townhome's community's parking alley is not my trash can either. American Disposal trash staff so grossly misplaced my trash can, that it is now missing.Desired Settlement: I want American Disposal to replace my large GREEN american disposal trash can, asap. Since I don't have a trash can.

Review: This company provided refuse collection services at my former address, [redacted] VA [redacted]. When I moved in June, I contacted the company, paid the remaining balance on the account (which was in good standing) and requested pick up of the company-owned refuse containers. The company scheduled the pick-up for June 30, 2014. I put both the refuse and recycling containers at the curb, where they requested them, and they picked them up on June 30. On September 15, I received a bill for $100.00 for a recycling container, though I do not have the container, and it is not at my former residence. I called the company to alert them to the incorrect billing and they assured me it would be resolved. I received another bill for $100.00 on October 1, 2014.

I contacted the new owners of my former home, who not only assured me that this company had collected both of my refuse containers, but that they had picked up the new containers delivered to the new owners, then proceeded to charge the new owners $200.00. The company claimed that they did NOT pick up my recycling container, nor did they pick up the new owners' containers, and we are all liable for the missing container charges. This is a problem in their inventory tracking, not with my payment or compliance with their policies. The new owner of my former home is [redacted]. She assured me that she was able to arrange for delivery of new containers by this company and had the erroneous charges reversed.Desired Settlement: Strike the erroneous charges from my account, acknowledge receipt of the containers that the company collected, and stop billing me.

Review: In the last month I've had problems with American Disposal picking up my trash. First, they have missed picking up recycling on three occasions. When the recycling bin started over flowing after the third week they didn't pick it up, I started calling. Every morning they said they would call dispatch and have some one pick it up, and every day that would occur. This went on for five days before finally it was picked. Additionally, during the week of the snow storm (w/o 1/27), we got three email advising of pick up dates. As our regular pick up day is Thursday we were told it would be picked up on Friday. Our trash was not picked up on Friday, but our neighbors trash was picked by American Disposal. In order to get the neighbors trash, the truck drives by our house twice. We left our trash out all weekend in the hopes that someone would come and pick it up.I called American disposal again on Monday 2/3 so that they could send someone out to pick up the trash. They advised the first available would be Thursday. I told them our trash was overflowing and that we couldn't keep it outside until Thursday and that someone needed to come and pick it up that day. They advised that wasn't possible. I asked to speak to manager and was forwarded to a voicemail. I did receive a call back and was told the same thing. I asked to speak to her manager, got a voicemail and have not received a call back as of this time.This morning I called and cancelled my service with American Disposal Services. I have chosen a different provider. I was told I would get a partial refund. I'm requesting a full refund for the three month prepaid period given the lack of service and the amount of time I have spent on the phone trying to resolve the matter.

Review: American Disposal Services came to collect trash in our neighborhood on Tuesday July 29, 2014. After dumping several neighbor's containers into their truck and compacting the load, the garbageman came pounding on my front door exclaiming, "you are not allowed to dump oil in the trash!" I had no idea what he was talking about. I don't change my own oil. When he got back to his truck, he retrieved a crushed plastic container that was dripping with black motor oil, and he proceeded to put it on top of my trash can and drove off. The oil not only covered my garbage can but it also dripped all over the cul-de-sac in front of the basketball hoop where the neighborhood kids come to play. I called American Disposal Services and explained the situation to a rude individual who basically said that her employees "don't lie." I told her I wanted a new trash can and for them to come clean up the mess they caused. I was told someone would call me back within 24 hours. No one called. I called a second time ans spoke to another rude individual who basically said the same thing as the first person. I was again promised a call back within 24-48 hours. A week later I called them again and asked for a manager. I was curtly told that she was on another line. So I asked for that individual's manager. I was told that that person also was on another line. I left a voice mail and no one has called back.

This company dumped used motor oil on my property and despite my efforts to bring this to a resolution, they continue to be belligerent. My expectation, at a minimum, would have been someone bringing a new garbage can or offering to clean up their mess.Desired Settlement: American Disposal Service needs to come and remove or clean the soiled garbage can and clean the pavement where their driver dumped the used motor oil. I would expect a call back from someone in management who is able to facilitate this immediately.
