Well I have AHS and have had nothing but problems when it's time to use them, but there is no problem with them taking the money every month, they say they use local contractors however to fix and AC problem no contractor even called , I had to call them, then they were a no call / no show wow another call to them to say "yes he will be late" ok I didn't mind after waiting hours at this point, then after the time of 5pm I call again and the are still on other job , says lady that answered the phone" Meanwhile after being on hold on the phone with the warranty company for an hour, a lady picks up the phone and I explain to her what is happening and she proceed to tell me she will reschedule the next day, but if I went to another contractor that I might have to wait until next Wed! (I explained I'm out of town then! ) so I was angry to say the least, I told her give me the new contractors number and I will call and make an appointment, I will do everyone's job at this point! she told me that she couldn't do that! so blah blah blah I was so angry I ask for a manger / owner then I'm told that 24/hour I will get a call back! this is up-surd! A Warranty company that makes promises and takes your funds first then can't keep the promises! I want my money back for years of pre paying for something that isn't going to get fix if at all! This company needs to be shut down, what are we PRE PAYING FOR!

We have been AHS customers for three years since we purchased our home and have had to use their service several timesDuring the first year or so we had to have a couple of items replaced/repaired and albeit the process was often slow they did complete the serviceHowever, in the past year or so we have found the quality of the service providers they assign to us to be exceptionally poorSeveral of the contractors they work with have been rated and F by the Revdex.comOur last experience was the worstThe contractor they assigned was rated F by the Revdex.com.orgI called and asked for another contractor but they denied my requestIt took the contractor a week to show up to look at the leak in our shower which was behind the wallThe took a picture and said they would have to order a partThey scheduled a return for about days out and didn't showTheir office called to say the technician had "called in" and they rescheduled for the following morningThey did not show on the second day againThe technician himself called to say they had gotten the wrong part and said that he had not called in the day before, I was simply not on his schedule at allSo I had to wait over a week for them to schedule another appointment to returnAgain they did not showI called American Home Shield after each missed appointmentThey assured me the contractor would come out to complete the serviceI began requesting that they simply assign someone else to come but they again denied my requestThey said they would transfer my problem to their contractor relations departmentAgain I was told to make another appointment for the contractor to return to complete the repairI waited beyond the hour window as AHS contacted the contractor directly and was told they would still come to my home later that dayThe did notI again requested a different contractorNopeNeedless to say I was assured by AHS that the contractor would come on the 5th dayNopeI made several calls to AHS and let me just say that it is virtually impossible to talk to anyone beyond the initial customer service personIf you have a problem it is next to impossible to get it escalated and resolvedSome of their service people actually seemed annoyed at me for calling them to complain After missed appointments I was finally able to get them to schedule an appointment with another contractorUnfortunately that contractor also did not show up! After that I told them I was not going to work with another of their contractors and they authorized me to use a licensed plumber of my choice and amazingly within the week the faucet was repairedI have yet to be reimbursed by AHS for the cost of the repair So, my major complaints with ASH are that the quality of the contractors they work with is extremely poor, their customer service department is horrible and the ability to get help when their is a problem is virtually impossible

We just bought a house and moved in June 2016, On June the sewer backed into the shower Called American Home Shield and the customer service Rep told us that we would have to wait for a designated plumber could get us scheduled in It is now Monday June 27th almost hours after contacting and have not been contacted by plumberMy husband called the designated plumber to find out that American Home Shield gave the plumber the wrong contact information Now we are told between 12pm and 5:pm June Also when I called yesterday I was on hold for minutes and today I tried an on-line chat and had a minute wait time I was in the Que and they were on

An AHS warranty was "thrown in" at closing this fall when I purchased a condoSome of the appliances and other mechanicals are old so I mistakenly thought this afforded me some protectionWhen my furnace broke on a cold night this February I was surprised to learn, as many other customers on this site, that AHS is incredibly slow in resolving issues and their contractors generally have awful reputationsNo thanks AHS

Do not trust this company! They have no integrity, will take your money away and will give nothing in returnI was paying for premium insurance coverage and called them to replace my broken H [redacted] programmable thermostat ( A [redacted] retail price $162.95)After paying $service fee, the contractor came out and installed a W [redacted] R [redacted] 1f89-(A [redacted] retail price $45.52)I called American Home Shield several times, asking them to honor their contract which states that they will replace your appliance with the same features as you had before...they told me that they will do no such thing since the new thermostat is working properlyThey also lied to me saying the contractor notified them that my previous thermostat did not match my furnace and if they install the same thermostat as I had before...I would have the same issue again...the problem is that , I had my previous thermostat for several years and had no problems with itIf you are looking for a reliable and honest company, I highly advise to stay away from American Home Shield

Bought a Home in that came with a home warranty from American Home ShieldI have had numerous service requests on my heating and air to no availThey only use one company, D [redacted] Heating and Air, and according to them an expedited claim IS an emergency claim but I will still have to wait for hours longer before a technician will get hereI have had NO good experience with AHS from the start, and the things they are suppose to fix continuously need to be RE-fixed time after timeThe companies they use are only interested in protecting the warranty company and not doing right by the consumerYou would be better off NOT purchasing a home warranty from AHS and just repairing things on your own, you will be able to use a more reputable company for your repairs

AHS is a service that promises to repair or replace covered items in your home We have been trying to get plumbers to our house, which we rent to a family of 4, since September It's now the end of May EVERY TIME we call we're told that someone will be sent out The plumber either never shows up- in one case they weren't even in business- or take the $fee, that we have to pay in cash, and never return So far we've paid $73/mo these months and for $service fees (= $959!) plus had our own plumber work on covered issues that AHS won't get fixed EVERY TIME we call we're told the policy is that a technician will be sent and if that doesn't work out that we'll be authorized to get reimbursed for our own plumber We have never even gotten to the department that authorizes that option No manager ever calls back, no promises of help have ever amounted to anything After spending this much money plus phone calls weekly that can run well over an hour, we still have the same broken hot water heater, leaks and stopped drains The tenants are livid, the caretaker wants to quit and we're bleeding money for this useless "service"

I'm a disabled vet that can't do all of the repairs I use to do, so I decided to go with American home shield when I purchase a home recentlyShortly after moving in we noticed water in the water heater pan and called american home shieldAfter several weeks they finally called and said they couldn't find a contractor to address our problemI explained my disability situation but they said I could try to find someone myself that would be willing to call them to get approval to assess the problemI told them I would prefer if they would continue to try to find us a contractorAbout a week later I received a card from them that they considered they claim closed or repaired because nobody called themWHAT A GREAT COMPANY? YEA RIGHT!

This is the worst company due to poor customer service and contract termsThey need to improve the vendors they select and hold them more accountable because there is no follow up to ensure the job is done in a satisfactory mannerThe warranty company does not provide any support to assist the consumer when the vendor they contracted with is irresponsible and not held accountable to report back to the warranty company in a timely mannerIn my situation, I am three months into getting my central air unit fixed and it still is not workingThe company told me today they rely on good faith from vendors to get back to them, really? It continues to be me, the consumer to be in the middle and try to get the problem of the unit reaolved I understand that companies will always take the cheapest route but we just purchased this house feeling protected with this warranty and it has been nothing but a stressful, unsafe (electrical problems) environmentThey rigged pieces to fix and overall months have passed and I still have no heating/cooling working systemAt least it is summer and we are not freezing and pipes are not frozenMy next step is to contact a lawyer and file a suit because the warranty company is not complying to there terms

Be careful, you are stuck with AHS dispatched contractors They have regularly dispatched unprofessional (rude and inexperienced) contractors, for which you HAVE to pay the $service fee You are then at the unprofessional contractor's mercy for proper care of your equipment otherwise, you will lose your $(they will not reimburse you.) In turn, they offer calling another contractor for ANOTHER $fee The above has happened numerous times for the past couple of y [redacted] in this household Our water heater was leaking and confirmed by AHS to be replaced but the contractor wanted over $in excess to comply Code After telling AHS what I do for living (a mechanical/plumbing engineer & contractor) and disagreeing with the code citation, AHS was silent and offered us less than $for us to do the work with NO cost break-outs (they claimed it was confidential.) I will be reporting the apparent game AHS plays to the California Department of Insurance and intend to share my experience with the interested parties here PS: I should have stayed with S***' extended warranty service I regret switching! :(

This company is the worst!! Let a single mother with three kids have no AC all summer in FLORIDAThe customer service representatives were not only rude, but made it crystal clear they did not careWill tell every soul about how awful this company is

This is the worst company I have ever tried to do business with! They do not return calls, send emails as requested or provide any requested informationNever do business with this company!

AHS is horrible! I put in a service request for my refrigerator on October 18thThey came out on the 19thHe diagnosed the problem and we never heard from them againI called AHS and they stated the technician has days to even put the request in (even though they know what is wrong)So they finally decided to put the request in on October 24thSo I ask them when will the part come in? AHS stated "we don't know"Then they has the nerve to quote contract termsSo I pay monthly (never really need the services), but when I do need them they take over two weeksSo I am sitting home with no working refrigerator and spoiled food

Do not sign up for this home warranty!!! Their service is terrible! I submitted a claim on Augst and it is now Aug28th and my dishwasher is still not fixed! It took them weeks to come out and then said they didn't have the part and when it came in they would come back out to fixWell the part came in Augand they then said it would be Septno beofre they could come back out to install partHorrible service! I have called so many times I lost count and they only pass the buck and nothing gets solvedmoths to get a dishwasher fixed?? Unacceptable!

This business is terrible I called the other day and waited minutes for a customer service agent My AC unit went out and stopped cooling They sent a company out to fix the problem They blew in a line and left Problem still not solved Water was dripping outside of house because of a clogged line Still not cooling They came back out Said it was another unit so I needed to pay another service fee I understand that I have two units, but they never diagnosed it correctly in the first place Two service fees is not required especially since I have been a long time customer Very disappointed with American Home Shield

Very poor serviceThis company seems to be so big they can't get anything done

The most rediculous customer serviceI cancelled my policy and still am being billed for a month and a half The office to cancel closes really early and try calling to cancel, so far it's already been almost an hour

Horrible customer serviceEvery attempt to contact them takes a minimum of fourty five minutes for a two To call and then thaws say they have to find a contractor to help us and they will call back in two hoursNever heard from themHorrible company to deal with

I have been going back and forth with this company for two weeks because of a lack of competence on the part of the service technicians and a lack of integrity on the part of management/ownershipI am an American Home Shield customer and was forced to deal with P [redacted] when my double oven's cooling fan stopped working, preventing the oven from operating at allI had an appointment set two days later (because they failed to call me within the hours stated by AHS)When they repairman came out, he failed to do anything besides look at the oven, turn it on and open the doorI told him about the error code, and what I had found out it was after a google search- all things I told the receptionist who took my call initiallyIn other words, he could've done everything he did in my home (wasting my time) on the phoneI paid him $in cash, expecting to have my oven fixed in a timely mannerAgain, two weeks later, I'm still awaiting a repair for my ovenThe part that the repairman ordered was the incorrect part, which I told him I believed it was, so the company sent out two service techs (one who was extremely rude and unprofessional) who shut off the power to part of my home without turning it back on (which cost me a $service fee when I thought my air conditioner had broken) and STILL failed to fix my oven- again, because the initial guy ordered the incorrect partI contacted AHS and P [redacted] to find out what was going on with my part and was given the run aroundThe manager/owner, Tasha C [redacted] , P [redacted] told me that the part that was "Out of stock" was now miraculously located and assured me that she was going to have it there by Friday and make me a priority as she understood I have a company of soldiers coming to my home for Thanksgiving as they are getting ready to go on a deployment to Iraq, as well as the fact that as a stay-at-home mom with two children, I need and use my oven on a daily basisShe assured me she would take care of meAfter not hearing anything from the company on Friday, I waited until to call and see if the part had been deliveredThe female I spoke to said deliveries typically came after 1600, but that if it came she would put me on the schedule for the next day, so that I would have my oven fixedObviously, she said that with no real intention of doing so, because I never received a phone call and didn't get any information until I called AHS to complain about P [redacted] and found out from them that they had, in fact, received the part and would be scheduling a repair for TUESDAY afternoonI hung up with AHS and immediately called P [redacted] to complainIn short, the manager, Tasha, stated that they, "Have many customers who are upset and they are a priority." She tried to correct her admission that they have a precedent of failing their customers by saying, "They're upset with other companies." To which I responded, "Well, then your priority should be to the customers whom YOU have upset first." Seeing that I was getting nowhere and realizing that no matter how much in err they are, they will continue to blow me off, I confirmed the NEW time of Tuesday between 3-5pm and assured her I would be filing complaints with the Revdex.comI'm disappointed, infuriated and disgusted with the customer service they are claiming to provide- and with a haughty attitude to bootThey do not need to have an A rating because they clearly don't deserve oneAt this rate I have ZERO confidence that they will, in fact, arrive when they say they will and want written proof if they don't that they are a dishonest, unprofessional company

I have been on hold for minutes waiting to talk to someone, anyoneThey do not value their customers...they sure valued my money though
