I was originally a customer with Coast Gas, but they were bought out by Amerigas right around the time I decided to switch vendorsAs Coast had charged me an absolute fortune for my last tank fill, I let my tank empty out to about 15% before switchingLuckily it ran down this far literally the week before my tank lease was dueI called to have them pick up my empty tank on April 1st or 2nd and was assured it would be picked up within a week or twoIt's now August 16th and the tank is still on my propertyWorse yet, they have been calling and harassing me for the tank lease fee, all while adding late charges to the billI have spoken to FIVE people now, sent TWO letters, and have written on every bill sent to me that I have been requesting the tank to be picked up since the beginning of AprilI just called AGAIN and they assured me it would be picked up as soon as possibleI don't have any faith this will happen and instead expect more phone calls demanding moneyAt this point I'm ready to call my lawyer and have them send a letter to Amerigas demanding pickup as well as a fee paid to ME for storage for monthsDo yourself a favor and find a LOCAL company to do business with

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: according to what I read it says that new customers enjoy 24/account access. it says nothing about new accounts onlyBecause of this I will be looking around for a new propane company when it comes time to refill my tank

Worst mistake ever and I should have known from the start, when I was called by the company to schedule a date to come check a leak Took off the day and when no one showed up I called and was told sorry, we meant to call another MrBrown When I protested a rude man got on the phone and said we'll just come pick the tank up Since I use propane for hot water, that wasn't an option for me so I just took another day off from work so they could fix their leak I finally had enough of the great customer service and called another company to come replace their tank I just called to have AmeriGas come pick up their tank and they have scheduled it for days later and informed me that they would not refund anything for the gas I have already paid for, and the tank is at 40%, and they will charge me $to pick up their tank And now you know how they make their money

This company has increased our cost of propane to near double the price of other local distributors for no reasonWe have always paid our bills on time and in fullWhen I called to complain, they refused a clear answer and were no help in resolving this issue, A clear case of price gouging! And this is not the first time this has happened but they did adjust the bill before

I have been dealing with this company for two years to try and get on a monthly payment program like their website tells you you can doEvery time I call the office (which you can't reach directly, you have to leave your name and number so they can call you back) I get a different answerOne time the woman tells me you can only get on a monthly payment program in the spring, another phone call and another woman says you have to do it in the summer and when I question that, she says, oh, you can do it in MayBut, you can't do it with the propane you just boughtYou have to pay off that bill and then they start collecting money ahead of your next order, so you are paying in advanceAt least I think that's how I think it works, I never got a straight answer on that eitherAt first they told me they could not come out and fill my tank on a regular basisI had to call each timeThen they changed their minds and started checking the tank and automatically filling it if it was downThe last time they filled it with gallons on March 4th - after winter (this is N*** C***) - and with way too much propane that I won't use until next Januaryso, guess what, now I can't sign up for a monthly payment until I pay off that deliveryToday they sent someone out to lock my tank because I hadn't paidI had been paying about $a month but apparently partial payments don't countSo, I paid it in full, but they never checked online to see that I had paidIt's a good thing I was home so they could ask before actually locking the tankDo not go with Campbell PropaneTheir accounting office does not know what they are doing and their customer service is awful

After finding a much cheaper company to go with, I called and cancelled my orderFine, Linda saidToday, Amerigas came and filled my tank! I wasn't home or I wouldn't have allowed itNow they have to come back and pump it outThey a gallon?!!! The other company, Not a happy camperDo not deal with this company

I've been a "trapped " Amerigas customer for going on years now Today I just finished paying almost $for a mere gallons that will be delivered between to business days In going to be honest yes Amerigas rapes their customers and takes advantage of them during the crucial months of winter where prices soar through the roof and occasionally you have to make unreasonable accomadations to fulfill their fill requirements but the true problem is that the propane industry is NOT regulated and you get companies like Amerigas who take full advantage of thisWe need to get the propane regulated and end huge companies like Amerigas taking advantage of its consumers

Thank you for giving AmeriGas Propane, L.P, (“AmeriGas”) an opportunity to respond to Michael ***’s complaint regarding a deliveryAmeriGas takes any complaint by its customers seriouslyTherefore, upon receipt of this complaint, we investigated the allegations contained therein
and provide the following response based on our findings. By way of background, Mr*** is a will call customer, meaning he is responsible for monitoring the propane in his tank and for calling to schedule deliveriesWe recommend to our will call customers that they call when their tank is 25-30% full so that we have enough time to make a delivery to their property before their tank is emptyOur standard delivery timeframe for will call customers is seven (7) to ten (10) business daysMr*** contacted AmeriGas when his tank was empty during Hurricane Irma and his call was routed to another AmeriGas location. Mr*** uses propane for a generator and under the circumstances we had to prioritize deliveries to the most critically necessaryAs an example, but not limited to medical life supporting equipment deliveries needed to take priority. According to our records, Mr*** received his delivery of gallons within two (2) daysWe recognize he was not satisfied with our contingency plan of having another AmeriGas location answering the phone on behalf of our Florida locations but they were either under a mandatory evacuation or were without power, phones and/or internetWe understand some customers did not receive a call back from their local office as quickly as they would have hoped for and we apologize for any inconvenienceWe are still diligently working to get our Florida locations back up and running to 100% and appreciate our customers’ patience at this time. I trust that this letter adequately responds to the issues raised in the above referenced complaintIn light of the foregoing, AmeriGas reasonably considers this matter resolvedIf you have any questions or require further information, please feel free to contact me. ** *** ***, Valley Forge, PA ###-###-#### Sincerely, Jill D*** Jill D*** Customer Advocacy Manager Jill D*** | Customer Advocacy Manager | AmeriGas

I began my service with Amerigas in April There were two tanks already on the property when I purchased it so I contacted Amerigas to come out and fill the tanksI was put on an automatic fill program so the technician would come when the tanks got to a certain pointDue to a discrepancy I requested to only have deliveries when I'm home Due to the discrepancy it was discovered that the tanks were old and had a leak so the decision was made to replace them I was told that the tanks would have to be empty so when they were empty I called Amerigas to swap out the tanksInstead of them sending technicians to remove instead the two techs they sent only agreed that they needed to be swappedUnfortunately the techs weren't prepared to remove the old tanks nor did they have new tanks on the truckOnce again I had to schedule yet another pick up only to have the exact same thing with the same techs happen againAt that point, which December I decided to end my association with AmerigasI then scheduled a pick up for the tanks so that I could have the other company place the tank I was intending on utilizing instead of Amerigas The date was set, I took the day off and not to my surprise the driver never got out of the vehicle and left without a word or a note on my doorAfter contacting the office the next day, again, I was told that the driver didn't want to damage my yard so he decided to scrap the pickup The tanks were moved as a courtesy by my new propane provider to a location that could be easily accessed from the roadI was then told that I would have to another days to have them picked upAs of January the tanks are still on my property and I am once again waiting for someone to get back to me This company should shut down so they can regroup and reorganize their operations This is, in it's current state, the worst business I have ever had to deal withI'm a disabled/retired vet and I'm hoping that this type of business isn't what lies ahead for me in the civilian sector
