Apollo Relocation Services, Inc. Reviews (207)

Besides the friendly guy on the phone, our experience was terrible. The drivers decided to take a day off on the day they were going to arrive. We had to cancel our move because of family health reasons and was told we would be charged full price for the move, even though we didn't move. Our contract only stated that the deposit would be kept which was fine. This company is such a scam.

Review: Communication: very poor.

Courtesy of the staff: very poor.

Scheduling:very poor.

Legion Express moving service (company Apollo hired for the move):Never showed up on original moving date. Had to cancel flight.

Actual Pickup: Relatively quick and efficient, once they actually showed up.

Delivery: Delayed. Very poor. Have you sign a form at pickup saying delivery can be done in 2-14 business days. 14 business days is essentially 3 weeks. Ask yourself if you are willing to wait 3 weeks for your all your furniture.

Actual Drop-off: Took 19 days to move items. Delivered several broken items, including a broken desk, glasses, and wedding gifts with sentimental value.

1. Initial conversation: Napolean (one of their salesman) informed me that they have an available truck and they will be able to move me on my specified date. This was false. They did not have a specific truck at that time and date he indicated. They also could not guarantee a move time for me on that date. I only discovered this after I took his word for it and paid the deposit.

2. Scheduling/Courtesy/Communication: There is little certainty with Apollo relocation services. This is a Broker company, not an actual moving company. How this company works is that they give you a several day window in which the movers MAY show up. You will have no idea which day they will come until after 5 pm the day before. Even after they inform you what day the mover will come they will give you a rough time saying they will show up after 8 pm. What does that mean? 8: 30pm? 11 pm? I understand there is traffic and delays in moving but given the amount of money I am paying there should be a more definite time period. When I politely asked when the truck would call me to confirm a time, they said when the truck is closer to you. When I asked for clarification? The receptionist on the other end replied with an attitude "when the truck is closer to you!". That is one way to answer question without answering it. I think it sums up how unprofessional the company is with regards to scheduling, courtesy, and communication.

3. They give you an impression that you will have your own truck during your initial conversation. This as I mentioned is false. Apollo relocation is a broker company. They call and hire other movers who are often doing multiple shipments together. This is also why there is so much in question regarding move time because the movers are shipping merchandise from other people as well. The third party movers only care about grouping shipments to save themselves money and time. Your individual shipment is low priority. As a result your pickup time and delivery time are very broad. .

4. Actual move: Finally had the move scheduled for a Monday after 8 pm as per Apollo relocation services. Monday comes and goes and the Movers never showed. It was then the last day of the lease and we have no confirmed movers.

I call Apollo relocation services, was told by dispatch that mover would be here 2-5 pm on tuesday. I call back and speak to Sara to get the number of the mover. She said Apollo never got a call or spoke to movers. I finally get call back from mover who said he could never do the move after 8 pm on monday. So long story short, someone was being dishonest.

I had to cancel my Tuesday AM flight since the movers never showed up on Monday ($586 cost). The movers finally show up Tuesday afternoon. The movers have you pay a portion of the deposit as expected and one of the forms you have to sign states for "deliveries within 501 to 1500 miles please allow 2 to 14 business days". At this point, I just need to have the apartment emptied so I pay the deposit and sign the forms. These guys work on their own schedule, and could care less about your schedule and belongings. 14 business days is essentially 3 weeks. Ask yourself if you are ok waiting 3 weeks to have your furniture and clothes delivered. This in my opinion is extremely delayed.

5. My belongings were not delivered until July [redacted]. Which is 19 days after the belongings were picked up, essentially three weeks. Seems like a long time for Michigan to NY, a 10 hour drive. Many of the boxes were broken, with broken glasses, a broken desk. The first desk was packed by the movers. The mover refused to assemble the second desk, the move was supposed to be white glove with disassembly and assembly. The mover, Alexander, was terribly rude. Also the supposed movers were a Husband, his wife and a child who waited in a [redacted] truck. They charged me for the U Haul truck as the 18 wheel semi would not fit in the local streets. How many local streets can an 18 wheel semi fit in? Perhaps they should have used a smaller moving truck for our move. Mover did not mention any boxes were broken when he asked for the money up front. . We noticed the broken boxes as they were being brought in.

Advice I received from another moving company: Don't trust broker companies who will give you an estimate over the phone, send you an instant contract and want a deposit. Reliable movers will send someone to do a visual survey of your move. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake.

Renting a [redacted] and hiring people to help load the vehicle, would have been 1. cheaper 2. faster 3. less stressful.

I had to work without 90% of my belongings for 3 weeks. Had to cancel a purchase a new flight ($586) buy new work clothes ($200) since 90% of my belongings were with the movers while I had to start work. Staples desk which was packed by movers which was entirely broken cost $160 dollars. Apollo and legion express could care less about your move.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $946 dollars for the costs incurred to me from the cancelled flight, need to purchase new clothes and the broken desk which was done during the move.

Response:

Unfortunately, delays do occur within the transportation industry, but the customer was advised of delays every step of the way. The 14 business day delivery spread is an estimated delivery spread, but the customers items were still delivered before the allotted delivery spread by the agreement and DOT regulation, before 21 business days. We advise the customer to call our office to help them file a claim against the carrier for any damaged items.

[Your Answer Here]

I find it fascinating that Apollo relocation basically only addressed one aspect of my complaint. What about...1. False claim by Napoleon that they would have an assigned truck for my move, available on the day I wanted to move. I really wish I had that conversation recorded. They get you to pay the deposit by luring you in with false claims such as this. Once you pay the deposit, you are stuck. 2. Terrible communication: Apollo relocation was entirely clueless regarding the details of the move, including up to the date of the move. They are a broker company so they essentially work with third party movers (Legion express in this case) who does not care at all about your move.3. Moving company did not show up on the initial expected move date. Had to cancel flight, and pay for a new flight. 4. The moving company showed up on the last day of the lease with a form that requires signature stating they have 2-14 business days for your move. I have no option but to sign this form as my lease ended that day and I had no other option. They did not inform me of this 14 business day window prior to this. 5. 14 business days is essentially 3 weeks in real time. The movers did not deliver my goods for 19 days. I started a new job shortly after moving and had to purchase new work clothes. 6. Legion Express movers delivered goods, many items of which were broken including a business desk, glasses, broken floor lamp. The legion express mover made me pay cash first. After he received payment he brought in the items and refused to mention anything about their broken state until questioned. An honest straight forward person would mention this prior to payment. 7. Contract with Apollo relocation service was for white glove service, disassembly and reassembly. The mover alexander refused to reassemble the remaining intact desk. 8. "So called movers": The actual movers were Alexander, his wife, and roughly 8 year old kid who sat in the [redacted] truck. These were not professional movers, something which we paid for. I will be filing an insurance claim but people need to be made aware of this terrible service Apollo relocation service and Legion express provides.

Response:

We apologize if you felt mislead by the moving consultant. As for delivery time, as stated previously the items were still delivered before DOT regulation permits of 21 business days. We also advise the customer to please contact our office and speak to a customer care rep to help them file a claim for any damaged items.

Review: I was given a price for moving expense on June **, 2015. I was told by the representative that I can make changes to my moving list and that my price was guaranteed not to go up. I called the moving company on 6/**/15 because I had not heard from anyone about the time they were going to pick my items up. I was originally told my items would be picked up either Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning during my estimate. I was also told that my items would be delivered to my new location Wednesday, June **, 2015. I explained that was my move in date and if they could not deliver then I needed to contact someone else. The representative told me that that would not be a problem and that I would have the number to the driver and would be in contact with them during the trip. When I called Apollo today [redacted] (who said she was the manager and was rude) said I would not change anything and if I did not have something on my list then it didn't matter I would have to pay for it. If I had an extra box then my price would go up. I told her that was not what I was told. She said it is binding and that is that. I told her is she recorded the calls she could listen to what the representative told me. She said the calls were recorded and she would listen. She was very rude and I feel the company is a scam. I was told I could make changes and get a reduction in my price if I didn't carry certain items. I told the representative initially that I did not want to add a table to the list because I was not sure I was taking it. She said to go ahead and add it because I could always take it off later. Today, June **, 2015 I was told a totally different story by "[redacted]". Now I am not sure when my items will be picked up or delivered and I will be over charged. This is a rip off.Desired Settlement: I would like my bill to correctly what I am and am not taking. I also believe I need a credit for the frustration and agony I am going through. I am very very disappointed. Rip off company.

Sincerely,

Review: I have been given so many different dates and amounts of CASH to give drivers only to find out it isn't APOLLO at all that moves us. A driver called 2 times to pick up our things and no dates coincide with what we contracted for. The driver also told me he will not be moving us either but it might up to 3 different trucks and storage facilities it will go to. They can't deliver when we are here and will hold it in storage at a place he does not even know. They told us we were going on a MILITARY load going to SAVANNAH. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. I put over the first 850.00 on my cc and I am suppose to have cash in excess of 1200.00 to hand to drivers. They know they have us over a barrel now because the apartment has to be vacated. Bryan told me he talked to the drivers and got me a military discount. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We now have no idea when our things will get here to FORT STEWART. This has been incredibly stressful as my husband is deployed and I am handling this by myself with people that lie and say they are military movers.Desired Settlement: I am also seeking damages for misrepresentation of a military mover . As we can not now get another mover . it's too late. I can file a dispute on my cc when we get our things . If we ever get our things. We are told it is 10K in insurance but I have seen other reviews and they are stating this is not true either.

We did not cancel the move at all. I have a message on my answering machine to prove that. They sent the movers on the wrong day and they tried to swindle my daughter out of 1600.00 in cash additional money. I called in the morning and told them of what happened when the movers left. They gave 4 options. The one they chose was they couldn't fit the furniture on this day without more money. I talked to [redacted] who was suppose to reschedule another mover and I waited for her to call. She did not. We booked a Penske truck ourselves and moved that day as we had to vacate the apartment . Her response is a blatant lie and if you look at the reviews this is common practice for them. We tried everything but were met with negative responses to everything.

We apologize for any inconvenience to the customer. Apollo offered the customer a new carrier after the first original carrier that showed up was sent away. The carrier told the customer that the overages would be $3,600 which the customer refused. After Apollo tried several times to reach out to the customer out of good faith and send a new carrier, the customer was unresponsive. We than offered the customer a partial refund out of good faith. However the customer chose to not go on with the move and not accept any partial refunds. If the customer has any questions on the agreed upon conditions and terms, we advise for her to give us a call. One of our customer care representatives can be reached at ###-###-####.

First of all. the driver left of his own accord. 2nd , the 3600.00 had nothing to do with Apollo. I do not know why Apollo keeps mentioning this The Dispatcher for the movers said they would come back the next day and not do this move without Apollo as they were hearing more and more from customers that Apollo was exercising unfair business practices. There were NO OVERAGES as we were within our 2000lb weight limit per the contract . Apollo came on the wrong day. I never called the office and excepted this at ALL. I told the dispatcher (Danielle M**) they could come but we were not ready. He replied "That was fine" because they would finish the pack. This was not true. They just wanted to show up to get in the door. I did not have to accept another move day with them as they were too late getting back to me. I left them my number and they did not call me. We had to vacate by midnight . Apollo was more than aware of this. I was not told EVER that if they came on the wrong day they would reschedule. Why would I do that ? The day they contracted was in fact not fulfilled by them. The reschedule which I did not accept was also on the wrong date according to their contract. All of this Good Faith non sense was made up by Apollo when they admitted their wrong doing.

Perhaps they should as their movers to tell the truth. If you look this company up you will find I am one of many that this has happened too. The truth is absolutely in my favor and their responses prove it. Yes they offered a partial refund but why would I take that. They provided absolutely no service to me.

If someone higher authority that SETH would like to give up a phone number I will call them . Other than that they are very abrasive because they are wrong. 2 office girls managed to mess up this move and I am not taking the blame.

Review: Hello: On Saturday, Sept. *, 2015, I had several boxes of goods shipped to me from Niagara Falls, NY to our new home in Winter Haven, FL. Upon opening the boxes the past few days, we have discovered that many items are missing from the shipment. The list is as follows: my coin collection, my stamp collection, 3 men's suits and 4 men's sport oats, a Chinese wall tapestry depicting a stand of bamboo trees, and finally, a large black stuffed gorilla plush animal belonging to my one year old grandson. When the shipment arrived, I asked the head of your crew if everything was accounted for. He assured me that everything had been shipped. I do not know what has happened to these missing items, but I am very upset by this entire situation. I want these items returned to me immediately. [redacted]Sent from my iPadDesired Settlement: Fire drivers, items found immediately ...stamp collection and coin collection were my grandmothers so quite rare and valuable...7 suits and coat jackets barely worn...no one has the respect to answer our numerous emails..drivers said everything was delivered...obviously lying because only the valuable things were missing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have called the 800 number and they told me to file a complaint which I have done 4 times....was told someone would reach out to me with a claim number which they have never done. The carriers said they delivered everything and that is a lie. The trucking company was Sammy's located in Fort Lauderdale...I sent he invoice to you yesterday along with the supervisors number at Apollo who arranged the move. The following is a list of missing items.1. Coin collection over 100 years old...my husband is 70 and it was his grandmothers.2. A stamp collection also my husband's grandmothers3. 7 suits and coat jackets...there were 9 in the box and only two were left and box was rewrapped.4. A four foot stuffed animal with a Mexican sombrero this was a gift for our grandson...the hat arrived but no stuffed animal.5. A Chinesse tapestry give to us from my daughter from Epcotdo not care what the carriers say ...these items are not among the things we shipped.....the expensive things are missing only other hings we shipped were old books....someone knew exactly what to take .don't know how to put a value on these things but coin and stamp collections are worth thousand...the tapestry was $50 and the stuffed animal was a sentiment item that has been in the family....I cannot deal with this anymore....did what I was told. My word against the carrier, I guess...we are law biding citizens that entered into a contract with good faith and feel we have been scammed.[redacted]

Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience to the customer. The customer provided a list of missing items, which the carrier does not have any record of except the gorilla and suits. Since the carrier packaged these items they would compensate the customer. The customer stated that the rest of the items were packed in boxes, but no record of these items are on the inventory list. The customer also signed off on the paperwork stating that they have received all of their goods.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:This is the same answer we get each and every time....we did not sign off that all items were accounted for...the driver counted boxes and they were the right amount of boxes but they were opened and re taped. We wanted to go through them but I have a broken back and wanted to take my time. The driver said he had no time and if we didn't sign he would take the boxes and store them at our expense. I asked that t his company return my money immediate ly since when I opened the boxes we found things were missing...as for listing every item we were told that was not necessary so we listed various household items... The suits were Brooks brother suits tha t were brand new and $500 a piece.tired of going over same stuff...this compa my has scammed several other people and I demand something be done to put them out of business. They refused to follow le a claim.over 8000 in merchandise is missing and we will not stop asking for our $$ until the pay us or go out of business. Review: Worst experience of my life.

My items were picked up June [redacted] (Moving RI to MN) and instead of the professional truck I expected a bunch of rude men arrived in a Budget truck and a moving van. They were hours late and I was immediately concerned when I saw the rental trucks.

We were grossly underquoted and they charged us another $2000 over the quote but you don't know any of this until it is on the truck. We had to throw out an tremendous amount of things at the last minute-- they didn't have room on the truck and were going to charge another $1000+ to get the last items on the truck and they wouldn't be able to do it until the next day.

We were initially told the truck would drop our things off in 4 days and we asked to confirm with the driver he said "[redacted]" At this point everything we own is on the truck- we were told 4 days and packed our car accordingly. We only had suitcases and an air mattress.

I waited 3 weeks before I called and the first woman said "it is on the truck" and hung up. I called two days later and was told "It is on the truck, they had problems in the midwest and will be there in the next few days" I stayed home and waited for a truck that never arrived. They were lying. No one would tell us where our things are.

For the next month they told us it will be there by the end of the week. And when it didn't arrive I would call back and they would say Monday/Tuesday. This continued endlessly. The people were often rude and wouldn't return phone calls when promised.

On August [redacted] (it had been 8 weeks) I called again and was told now our things have been in storage and they can't find anyone going to MN and our things would be here by the end of September. I completely lost it. That would have been 3 MONTHS. They offered us $200 off for our inconvenience. I told them NO this is not acceptable.

I filed a complaint with the FMCSA over the weekend, called the attorney general, and prepared to hire a lawyer.

I called again on Monday and apparently the complaints worked. They said it the things were finally on a truck and would be here Thursday. We were prepared for this to be untrue and waited.

It was a miracle. Our things finally arrived but it had taken OVER 2 MONTHS... however....

When they started to unload the truck the boxes looked like they had been beaten with a baseball bat. Boxes were upside down- ripped open. There was visible broken glass spilling out of the boxes and our things were mixed in with the other people's things.

All of the boxes were smashed. They broke all out glasses, the furniture was torn and stained. And several large items were simply missing.

The men that unloaded the truck said that the Warehouse were they stored out things was a total mess.

It took over 2 months, endless agony, thousands of dollars more than we were expecting to pay, not to mention the lost hours working waiting for the truck, hours spent on the phone, only to receive broken and missing items that were expensive and had a lot of sentimental value.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for the lost and broken/damaged items and a price adjustment for breaking the contract and the excessively delayed delivery.

Business

Response:

We apologize to the customer for any inconvenience. Due to the nature of the moving industry, the carrier did run into delays such as traffic, weather, and other customers loads. As per our notes the carrier was willing to compensate the customer for the delay. We apologize if there were any damages to the items, we advise the customer to give us a call so we can help the customer file a claim with the carrier. The customer can give us a call at [redacted].

Review: Business assured me there were no complaints against them with Revdex.com when I tried to cancel order [redacted] June,2015. The move was scheduled for June **-**. We called them and they initially claimed truck would arrive on 6/**/15 and dispatcher would call to confirm. When no call was received we called at approx. 11:00 AM and were told truck would arrive in an hour and a half. When several hours passed, we called and were told truck had flat tire. Next morning received call from dispatcher and two small rental trucks arrived. We were told by them that they took job prior evening and there was no flat tire, etc. They loaded and took to distribution center after charging us 36% more than estimate. When items arrived, many items were damaged and I had the driver sign a note to that effect. I sent pictures and damages but cannot get a response from anyone.Desired Settlement: The contract we signed claims that the items were insured for $10,000 @ $.60 per lb per item. They damaged a large armoire, triple dresser, L desk, 8 ft silk tree, and 2 bicycles. That adds up to quite a bit of weight. I know that I cannot get resolution for their numerous deceits and additional cost but I do believe money is owed to me for the damages.

Business

Response:

We apologize for the clients need to file a claim they will be sent a claims form and reimbursed per the insurance included in their moving service. We try to be as punctual as possible but in a trucking industry mechanical failures happen.

Review: In short: Apollo Relocation scammed me into accepting their service by giving me a lowball quote based on the cubic feet my possessions would take in the truck. They are also a moving BROKER yet they have a moving truck with their logo on their main web page, which is quite deceptive because they do not actually have moving trucks. Because of the truck on the page, I had actually confused Apollo Relocation with Apollo Moving & Storage, an actual mover. In doing so, I found Apollo Moving on Revdex.com before I committed to using Apollo Relocation, and they had an A+ rating. Apollo Relocation, on the other hand, has a C- rating.

Move details: I had one week to find an apartment and move from DC to NYC. I went to a moving website that allowed me to get multiple quotes at once from a variety of movers. My move was extremely time sensitive. Apollo Relocation emailed me to discuss a quote. I called them on Friday, September **, 20** and gave them dimensions for almost all of the furniture in my studio. I explicitly remember the dimensions because I had needed them earlier that day to make sure my furniture would fit in the new studio I was renting. I received a quote for 318 cubic feet. Apollo told me how they would move me and provide packing material for my furniture. At no point did they tell me that they were a broker and that someone else would move me. I made a $600 deposit by credit card.

The movers that arrived on Tuesday, September ** were not from Apollo but were from [redacted] is rated F on Revdex.com. [redacted] ended up charging me for 600 cubic feet, even though I had only the furniture listed on the itemized binding agreement plus the **-20 small and medium boxes. For having exactly the inventory itemized, Apollo Relocation should have been able to more accurately estimate how much space my possessions would take in the moving truck, especially when I offered them dimensions. While [redacted] charged me for 600 cubic feet of space, my possessions took closer to about 450 cubic feet. (I am submitting a separate complaint about Unlimited.)

Moving is a stressful, hectic time. I wish I had done more due diligence but I did not have the time, and I imagine many other people who move are in the same situation. Apollo Relocation takes advantage of this.

First, I was easily duped into thinking that Apollo was an actual mover rather than a broker because of the truck on the website and the way the customer service people talked about how they would move me when I first spoke to them. I am a lawyer and spent a few years practicing trademark law - I do not easily confuse companies. I wouldn't be surprised if Apollo Relocation intentionally took the name of Apollo Moving to cause confusion. The trademarks are different enough but the Apollo Relocation logo on the truck on the website home page is unacceptable false advertising.

Second, Apollo Relocation gave me a quote that they must have known was too low based on the dimensions of the furniture I gave them and the standard estimates for other people moving from studio to studio. I entirely expected to have to pay more than the initial quote no matter which company I chose, but I did not expect to have to pay almost double (318 cubic feet became 600 cubic feet). The move came to $2921, all paid to [redacted] except for the $600 deposit. The binding estimate on the other hand was $**90.70.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund and only pay for my initial estimate of 318 cubic feet.

I would like Apollo Relocation to have to take down the moving truck with their logo on it on their website.

I would like Apollo Relocation to have to make it much more clear that they are a broker on the outset. The customer service representatives should explain that in detail. It should be laid out on the website in big letters rather than fine print. It should be more visible and better explained in the contract.

Business

Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience to the customer. However Apollo Relocation Services would never lie about being a broker. We in fact are one of the top nations moving providers. We do own our trucks and service customers moves as well as broker out moves. It is clearly written on our website as well as the contract that was agreed upon. If the customer has any questions on any of the agreed upon conditions and terms we advise and await for the customers call. We can be reached at ###-###-####.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

It is not true that the website clearly explains that you are a broker. The website conveys that you "offer professional full-service moves" and shows an Apollo truck. The truck that arrived said "[redacted]" and "[redacted]." To figure out that you are a broker, you have to read the fine print after scrolling to the bottom of the page. The estimate is also confusing and should be re-written for clarity. Moreover, you did not address why Nicholas S[redacted] gave me such a low estimate for my furniture even though I gave him dimensions of the furniture and did not have more items than were in the estimate.I would like a proper explanation and a refund.[redacted]

the customer must acknowledge that they understand the cancellation/refund

policy before electronically signing. Since this job was serviced and the customer never

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].To Apollo Relocation: Thank you for requesting the bill of lading. I hope this gets resolved quickly and that I get a refund for the overcharge.

Review: On Sept [redacted] 2015 my furniture was picked up from my storage location in new jersey to be deliver to orlando Fl.. My furniture was to arrive three to seven days. To my surprise my furniture was not delivered by the same truck that picked up my furniture. Nevertheless my furniture arrive broken and parts missing. On Sept [redacted] 2015 as I was receiving my deliver I called the company and informed them that items were missing and things were broken. At this time I was advised to forward an email stating what was missing and broken. On Sept [redacted] 2015 I responded to their request which was a form of all items missing and broken. As of right now my queens size bed can not be used because the rail was broken and my mattress came filthy. My sons bed full size box spring and bed frame went missing as well. Review: I have two contracts with the company. First to move small one bedroom apartment and second to move the car. From the beginning I was asking if both contracts will be executed at the same time. About ten times I've heard yes. My pick up days were [redacted] and [redacted] of July. After the numerous conversations with them the finally picked up on the [redacted]. They came two hours late and I've made to the airport 30 minutes before the departure time. However, the car was never picked up. I had to leave it on someone's driveway. As of today the July [redacted] the car is still in Charleston. I had to rent a car to move around Chicago.Desired Settlement: The company should finish the job on time as promised. I believe I deserved a compensation for all my troubles and extra expenses I acquire because of their very bad business behavior.

Response:

We apologize for the delay in picking up the car. The car was picked up by a separate service and while we try our best to coordinate the timing of the household pick up and the car it is difficult logistically however we did coordinate with the client to get it done and we aspire to deliver the highest quality of service in a very difficult industry involving many different moving parts. We thank the client for their patience and their business and are hear to assist with anything else they need regarding their relocation.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The car wasn't picked up by your business according to the contract. You left me hanging with no indication when the car will be picked. Since I had to fly out I left the car at someone's driveway. I had to scramble around and find another vendor the last minute and it cost me $200 extra. Speaking of the very bad business, the personal properties that you picked up on the [redacted] of July still didn't make to Chicago and I think they were lost. I cannot get an answer from nobody.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We apologize for the delay picking up the clients car but we communicated with them the delay and we worked it out so that they could leave the car with a neighbor and the car transport would pick it up there. The logistics of transport can be difficult and sometimes there are delays out of our control but we strive to provide the best service possible and to find solutions.

Review: Apollo Relocation Services are very good at not letting you off the phone until you agree to make a "refundable" deposit and stress that if you do need time to think about it the price will go up the next day. That should have been my first alarm! We agreed to two separate amounts to make up the deposit, so that I would not be out all of the agreed deposit. They submitted the second portion of the deposit to the bank prior to my approval. Today my contract fell through on the selling of my house so I will not be moving as planned, at least not in the time frame planned. I called them immediately as today is the seventh day for a full refund. We had moved the dates from 5/* and 5/* to 5/* and 5/* and then back a few hours prior to my request for a refund. So, within a few hours, they are now keeping all of my deposit. They will not refund my deposit because it must be requested outside of the seventh day. In the meantime, I need to pay my mortgage and other necessities in order to sell my property and need the deposit. I explained this to them and would have used them for the move when the time comes, but now since they will not refund the deposit, I will never give them another penny. So, they keep the deposit, but loose an additional $3500 for the actual move.Desired Settlement: A full refund of the $960.00 since I will not be moving with their company and I requested the refund on the seventh day.

Response:

At Apollo Relocation Services, we do our best to help easethe stress of long distance moving with courteous customer services at theforefront. Hence, addressing complaints or concerns of customers forcomplications that may have occurred during their moves is one of our utmostpriorities. We regret that our customer, Pamela Johnson, feels that her reservationwas not to the caliber of our usual reservations. In this customer’s case, sheselected to change her move dates from 5/*-5/* to 5/*-5/*. We were able to accommodateto her new dates and performed all of the logistical coordination required toadjust the reservation. Once we were able to confirm the new dates, thecustomer electronically signed off on the new dates and the new agreement forher upcoming move.Unfortunately, this customer called later on to cancel hermove, yet was ineligible for a refund because of our cancellation policy whichstates that the customer must cancel outside of 7 business days from herearliest moving dates. Below is the exact clause that is listed on ouragreement three (3) times on our agreement AND must be checked off as readprior to a customer electronically signing the agreement:“Deposits are 100% refundable with No Cancellation Fee or Additional Charges for moves cancelled outside seven (7) business days(weekends and federal holidays excluded) prior to the first estimated pack orload date. I understand that deposits are non refundable for movescancelled, reserved, or placed on hold within seven (7) business days (weekendsand federal holidays excluded) of the first estimated pack or load date.Additionally, cancellation policy will apply to the earliest estimatedpack/load date in the event a date change is requested by client.”Because of cancellations, reschedules, and last minute reservations from customers, we have thiscancellation policy for situations just like this one where we have tologistically adjust the space on trucks and routes that our carriers haveavailable to be able to accommodate to our customers’ requests. When thiscustomer requested new dates, we did our best to accommodate to her request, but when cancellations occur so close to the move dates, our carriers run therisk of losing the space that was already reserved for those moving dates andin turn run the risk of cancelling or changing a route because of one or twoloads that were suddenly cancelled. Because of the inconvenience to ourcarriers and their schedules, we do not offer a full refund so close to movingdates. While we understand circumstances can arise that prohibit a customer to go through with their move, our first priority is to fully move all of the customers that reserve a spacewith us. Hence, we offer a “hold” policy which allows customers to place theirmoves on hold for up to a full year (12 months), until they are ready to moveso that they do not lose their deposit or moving rate. When this customer called to cancel, she spoke with our dispatch manager directly and he informed her of theimplications of the cancellation and as per our internal notes, the customer “wasfully aware of the forfeit of deposit” because the dates fell within thecancellation window. We still offer this customer the chance to place her move “on hold” so that she could fully utilizethat deposit as well as that rate for her eventual move. She is welcome to callour office and make those adjustments as necessary. As always, we are here and will continue torespond to our customers’ concerns through phone by calling ###-###-#### or emailat [redacted]. Customer care is our utmost concern andwe hope to help these customers reach an adequate solution to their dilemma.

Dealing with Apollo was the worst mistake of my life. First they do not tell you that they are not the actual movers they give the booking to another moving company. They tell you that they are not the type of business who quotes one price and then it increases on the day of the move. Which was another lie. I asked for a wardrobe box & when I got an email from Bryan & a call from Patricia in their quality control department it was not listed I tried calling & emailing both of them & I was unable to talk to either one of them. Once they book your move they will not speak to you. Then when the movers came to pick up my items they would not leave the wardrobe box without us paying extra for it. They also do not tell you that each item is counted as one example kitchen set has 4 chairs, leaf a top & legs so this was counted 7 items. They charge you for each mirror & glass shelf to be wrapped this is not mentioned when you book it, but is in the fine print. Then we asked to have the items stored they do this for 30 days free one good thing they do. We then called to have items taken from storage & delivered first they said 90% chance they could be delivered on that day then we called to confirm & they made an excuse that they did not have a truck, then after another call the called back & said they found a truck which was a joke. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY IT IS BETTER TO PAY MORE MONEY & GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE

Review: Called Apollo to check availability of movers within the next 7 days. Was informed that I would have to e-sign some documents so get it in their system before they would be able to see if they could move me within the next 7 days. At most I would lose $250 of my $1,400 deposit if I cancelled the appointment but I could place the move on hold for up to a year with no charge. They did have a mover who could move me within a week but a couple of days later I decided I would not be able to get the house packed up in time so I placed the move on hold while the house was on the market. 4 months later the house is still on the market so I decided to get my deposit back while I took the house off the market for the winter. They refused to refund ANY money. Kept my $1,400 deposit stating I cancelled the move too close to the move date. An obvious scam because the entire booking and placing the move on hold was not even within their 7 days cancellation term. So they knew they were going to keep my deposit from the start even after lying over the phone that at most I would be out $250. Now I will consult a lawyer about the federal law known as the "cooling-off rule" that allows you to cancel contracts within a few days of signing them. Just absolutely ridiculous business morals from this company. It is highly advised to stay away from them and give your business to one of the other 100s of moving companies.Desired Settlement: The company should honor their phone call conversation stating that at most I would be out $250 of my $1,400 deposit.

Review: On August **, 2015 I contacted Apollo Relocation Services regarding a move for my son from Georgia to Missouri. I wanted an estimate of how much it would cost to move contents from a storage unit in Georgia to Missouri. I did not have an exact move date as my son had yet to recieve a start date but knew it would be sometime in Sept. I also did not have the exact contents but I had a rough idea. At this point all I was looking for was an estimate. The person I spoke to, Steve, gave me an estimate of a little more than $2300. He sent me an email confirming the estimate. However before proceeding forward with a contract I wanted him to verify with my son the acutal contents before I comitted. I am aware that the cost is based on weight and if it was going to change dramatically we would have to weigh the options of hiring them or doing it ourselves. I needed to know the increase before even signing a contract We also had other logistics to work out before even agreeing to use Apollo. (Apollo was aware of the logistics of having someone other than Bobby be present in GA to open up the storage unit. The contents of the house were currently in storage in GA (we live in MD) and we needed to see if the storage unit company in GA would let someone other than my son have access to the storage unit. If the storage unit would not allow someone else to gain access it would not make logical sense to drive to GA to open the storage unit. My son would do it on it own if that was the case. When I spoke with Steve I did not have an exact move date. I told him it would be sometime in Sept. I said it could be in 2 weeks or not until the end of the month. He told me before he could give me an estimate he needed a date. He suggested that we use 9/**/15 to start the ball rolling with getting an estimate and if we needed to to move it another date that would be fine. When I spoke to my son about the contents he told me that I missed several contents including the contents in the garage. I knew that would change the estimate. On 8/**/15 Steve called me wanting me to sign a contract. I told Steve that I need to have my son call him first and after my son gave them the contents I had missed, I wanted Steve to call me back and we would discuss the revised estimate. After my son gave him the additional contents Steve (without my knowledge or authorization) told my son that I was ok with him to give him the credit card number which my son proceeded to do. My son called my afterwards and told me what had happened. I immediately contacted Apollo that I was not ready to move forward until I saw a revised estimate. At this time I was not getting a good feeling about this company and upset that they told my son I agreed to committ. I called back that very same day (within hours) and told them that I wanted to cancel because we could not committ to a Sept ** move date due to the logistics with the storage unit company in GA and that they did not provide an updated estimate. They said they would move the date so we could work out the logistics. I said that the actual move date was not the only issue. I still needed an updated estimate which they failed to provide me. They told me that had originally overestimated and that I was fine. I disagreed with him and didn't want to proceed further without a revised estimated. I also told them the contract was to be in my name, not my son's as it was my credit card being used. I was told to have my son send an email to cancel which we did. I also asked for a refund of the $600 deposit and was told by a female representative (I did not get her name) that I needed an email from my son cancelling the move. He sent it on the same day. I called the next day to confirm that they received the email. I left a voicemail asking they call me back to confirm that had recieved the email and that I was expecting a refund. When I received my credit card statement around 9/** I noticed that Apollo had not refunded the deposit. I contacted my credit card compant to dispute the charge and that is still ongoing. That was the last we heard from Apollo until they called Sept [redacted] to set up the move. I told them we had cancelled and was expecting a refund. I told her we sent an email to which she responded that she hadn't seen it. I was put on hold and then she told me they did get the email however we did not cancel in time. I disagreed with her and told her we canceled on the very same day. She told me that cancel date was based on the original date of 9/** and not the actual date of 9/**. I explained to her that Steve entered the date of 9/** fully aware that that date was most likely going to change and 9/** was used to start the estimate. I asked her that when Steve used 9/** that we would never had an opportunity to cancel because of the 9/** date and she replied "Yup" and then hung up on me. I tried to call back and my call went straight to voicemail. That was the last time I had any contact with Apollo.Desired Settlement: Refund of the $600.

Review: My wife and I selected Apollo to relocate to Columbia SC area after much comparison of companies. Reviews were good and initial contract for services were excellently handled. The first contract was entered on July [redacted] at 02 am. The estimate for services was 7673.28. They stated they would call again to check the amount of load closer to the pick up date. I gave them a deposit of 1500 charged to my credit card. I attempted to call several times to renegotiate the load and finally received a call back on 7/**/15. The load was adjusted and many of the larger items were removed from the list ( washer dryer riding lawn mower 2 push lawn mowers ect.) The company was alerted that me had quite a few boxes which they responded to as not that important. The new load was estimated at 9702.30. I was charged an additional 600.00 to my credit card and was told upon pick up I would need to have a postal money order of 3806 dollars. The relocation company sublet our move to Budget who increased the amount we owed due to shipping materials and large load. At that time I gave them in addition 1632 dollars so that on delivery I would only owe 3000.00. The team said that they would be storing our load in Maryland and when we closed on our home in Columbia they would deliver. Instead my wife was called in Columbia that the load was here and to meet for payment. When she arrived she was told she owed 4600 dollars. After much back and forth with "Alex" on the phone he lowered the bill to 4000 dollars stating it was because of the increased square footage of the load. She was charged 4000 dollars on her credit card. On August [redacted] I notified Apollo of my displeasure with the move due to the scam for money at every step of the way. total 11,538 and no delivery to our home as we were promised. We were told one more time that they would call after they looked at the case. I asked when because we had heard that call back line so many times. She said 2 days. 2 days have passed and I am now going to the next stage of the process a letter to the Revdex.com. 1836 dollars extra added to a binding estimate and now needing to find a moving company to move our belongings to our home estimated at around 1000 more dollars. We would like Apollo to come to a reasonable charge for their services and stand behind their binding estimate and promise of delivery to our home.Desired Settlement: We would like Apollo to come to a reasonable charge for their services and stand behind their binding estimate and promise of delivery of our belongings to our home.

Review: Last month we hired this company to move out household goods and personal items from [redacted]. They quoted me at 1609 for the move then they made me pay a 600 dollar deposit. Which included packing, materials to load, loading, mantiling, dismantiling and droping off at desried location and said I could put up 30 boxes. I had 23 boxes. They told us that they would arrive on April [redacted], 2015 which is was a Thursday. I was leaving that Friday of the [redacted] to move to Texas. Thursday, past by and they never showed up. Friday did as well and they never showed up. I left California that day to drive to Texas. The movers did not show up until that Sunday of the [redacted]. Becasue they were late Apollo relocation services said they would reimburse us for the delay.

My mother opened the apartment to allow the movers to pick up the items and load them on to the truck. A huge issue at this point is that it was no Apollo Relocation Services conducting the move it was another company that they subcontracted by the name of [redacted]. from [redacted]. They made her sign some paperwork without informing her of what it was that she was signing only that she had to sign it in order to load everything onto the truck. They began loading items on the truck which included item a huge dresser that we did not want on the truck. By the time they were done they informed my mother that the new cost would be 3200 dollars, double the price of the original quote. They had already loaded our belongings and made my mother sign off on some paper work before ever providing us with their quote. They said it would cost 50 dollars more for the three boxes and would not be much more. They made her sign when she said she couldnt read it becasue didnt have her glssses the quoted price was still 1609 when she signed becasue no other fee was quoted and no explanation of what she was singing. They said we had to pay extra for them to dismantle and package things. Everything was packaged but they said it was not correct and unpacked and packed it again and said we had to pay an extra fee. They did not specify how are goods had to be packaged.

We were naturally surprised by the new charges. We told them that it was too much and that we no longer wanted their services. They said that if we wanted them to take our things off of the truck it would cost us 500 dollars to unload everything even after we had already paid a 600 dollar deposit fee. We told them that we were not going to pay them 500 dollars for not providing us with any service. We informed them that if they did not unload our items that we were going to call the cops and press charges for theft and fraud. They told us go ahead and locked up the truck and left. The company never provided us any information on the whereabouts of our items.

Since then we have been trying to settle the issue with Apollo since they were the company that contracted the movers. Apollo has been very inconsistent in which one representative has told us that they will honor our original quote and bring our belongings while the Manager of their customer serice unit, Andrea V[redacted], just informed us that we would have to pay and additional 2550 to have our belongings moved to Fort [redacted] or pay [redacted] 850 dollars tonretrieve it from the storage unit in [redacted] which is not practicle because it is about 1500 miles from Fort Worth. One of the other fees they added on is that movers are saying our apt was more than 100 yards from street. Our apartment is less than 100 feet from the street.

We believe that the company is conducting fraudlunt business practices and wish that we could just recieve our belongings. My husband is an Inactive Duty Marine and much of his military uniform atire were packed and part of the move. Essentially the company is giving its customers reasonable quotes for their move, however, when themovers show up they are not actually part of Apollo Reloccation Services and they go by thier own set of rules which is why we were given different quotes. When I originally contracted Apollo they informed us that the price would never go above the quote which is obviously untrue. They did not expressly inform us in a conspicuous manner that the other company woud have thier own charges.

We would also like to file a complaint with the rude and fraudulent subcontracters as well. We no longer fell that this is a contractual or civil dispute, but a criminal theft and consumer fraud dispute. However, we are contact the Revdex.com to allow them one last chance to settle this dispute.Desired Settlement: We would like our items to be delivered to the address in Fort Worth that we provided them with at a discounted price below the original price that was quoted of 1609 dollars. We would also like our refund paid back in full to go along with the discounted price for all of the trouble that we have had to experience.

Furthermore we would like the Revdex.com to further investigate both companies for fraudulent business practices to prevent any future issues such as this one from occuring again. I believe that it is imperative that the proper authorities be informed of thier practices so that if this company is conducting criminal fraud that they be prosecuted for their actions. After reading many reviews it appears that this has happened quite a few times already to other customers. Although my husband is not on active duty he is still an Afghanistan Veteran under is inactive duty portion of his contract and would like his military belongings back in his possession before this company sells our items to the higest bidder.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business is refusing to take any responsibility for any wrongdoing and misrepresentations during the process of our move from California to Texas. They first told me that the cost of the move was determined by the amount of boxes that we placed in the moving truck. They told me that I could have up to 30 boxes in the truck before any new fees would be accessed. I packed only 23 boxes that should have been placed on the truck, well under the maximum limit of 30 boxes. Secondly, they placed a dresser in the truck that was large and bulky that we did not intend on moving nor did I want to be placed on the truck. It was an old broken dresser that I wanted to have thrown away. Lastly, when they showed up to the apartment, their subcontractors that they hired switched the original terms of the agreement by stating that the cost of the move would be determined based on square feet. I had my mother there only to allow the men into the house in order to take our things and place them on our truck since they were three days late and never showed up on the day they were supposed to. We were no longer in the state at the time of the move. The subcontractors took advantage of the situation and forced our mother to sign a contract without giving her an actual quote. When they did provide the quote, which we were told over the phone of the new price, we decided to decline their services because it was double the cost of the original quote of 1600 dollars. I would really like to have our property back and would really like that the original quote of 1600 dollars be honored. This whole issue has become a huge headache for my family. We would also like the Revdex.com to further investigate the practices of this company and the subcontracting company. It does not seem to be a common practice of the moving business to base quotes on square feet or boxes. The fact that they disregard the offer that was originally made is also a very sneaky way of conducting business by providing new cost at the time when the business arrives to house after they have already provided a quote that they claim they would not go over. In the end we detrimentally relied on their original quote over the phone that they misrepresented at the time of the move. We have also been denied access to see our bill of the original quote on the company's website. Please honor the original quote of 1600 dollars. We would just really like the business to honor their original quote of 1600 dollars.

Review: I originally opened a complaint with the Revdex.com against Apollo Relocation Services on June **, 2015. The complaint number was [redacted]. I received a phone call from a man with Apollo Relocation on June **, 2015 identifying himself as the Dispatch Supervisor. He stated that he was calling about my complaint with the Revdex.com. I explained to him why I filed the complaint and concerns I had after making my order. He stated that Sarah, the manager being rude/direct/abrupt with me was human nature and a human error. I told him that some of the information I was given and promises made prior to making my order were not being honored. He said that if I thought my service was bad now it would only get worse since I filed with the Revdex.com and that the only way he would be able to help me is if I retracted my complaint immediately. He was very agitated and I felt threatened. I asked him how I would know he was would do what he said he would. He stated I had his word and could talk to him directly for any issues. He stated he would contact the moving company in [redacted] (All Ove the State Moving and Storage) to reiterate I need my items by Wednesday, June **, 2015 to make it happen and that he would give me $55 credit for the table and chairs I was not taking. However, he could not do any of this until I retracted my complaint. Once I did he would call me and would verify everything was taken care of. I did what was asked and never received a call from him. I even left a voicemail after withdrawing my complaint and still he did not call. I was not issued $55 credit nor reassured of the initial “no problem” delivery date of Wednesday, June **, 2015. I had already put down $700 and knew I did not have the funds to secure another moving company.

On June **, 2015 I contacted Over the State Moving and Storage (###-###-####) to verify my pickup day of Friday afternoon or Saturday morning because I had not heard from anyone on when they were coming. At that time I spoke with the manager of the company. I explained that I was scheduled for a pickup either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning and wanted to know if the Dispatch Supervisor from Apollo had contacted him regarding my delivery for June **, 2015. The manager stated the Dispatch Supervisor had not contacted him. At that time I told the manager that prior to signing up with Apollo I explained that I was starting a new job and needed to have my items delivered to me by Wednesday, June **, 2015. The manager stated that they would be by to get my items Friday or Saturday and would contact me 24-48 hours prior. He stated that they would do their best to have my items to me by Wednesday, June **, 2015 but needed to know what time I would be at the apartment Wednesday for delivery. I told him I could have the keys by 10am once the office opened and I signed my paperwork. He said okay and we hung up the phone.

Eventually delivery was set for Friday, June **, 2015 between 9am – 11am.

On Friday, June **, 2015 movers for All Over the State Moving and Storage came to load my items. The following occurred.

1. The mover in charge had an invoice total that did not agree with my invoice statement. In addition, the credit I received of $500 for family member having AARP/military was not listed. My invoice number was [redacted]. My cr was [redacted]. The individual totals on the mover’s invoice outlining the cost did not add up to the total stated by Apollo (Attachment A). The individual amounts on the attachment $4211-$2802.95=$1408.05 (correct). $1408.05+$126.72+$1200 = $2234.77 (not correct; it equals $2,734.77). My deposit $700 (correct Attachment - Deposit). My invoice (which the link to view has been removed from Apollo) had a balance of about $1,500. The mover stated Apollo gave me a bad estimate from the beginning and that we need to call them. I called Sarah on speaker phone with the mover. I attempted to explain the discrepancy. However, she started yelling at me and telling me that if I had to pay more it was because I was not honest about all the items I had and it was my fault. I told her that I did state everything I had and that the invoice did not tie, they did not record items correctly, I was not even taking all the items listed, and that the invoice total was incorrect. She just kept yelling that was not her problem. In the midst of her yelling at me I hung up.

2. I verified with the mover that he knew I was moving to the 3rd floor. He stated yes and that I needed to pay an additional $75. I told him that I had already paid Apollo the additional fee of $60 for moving to the 3rd floor. I showed him the invoice from Apollo, he said okay, and put a -0- for the total on the form for additional fee for the 3rd floor (Attachment B. Also noted 3rd floor move on Attachment F).

3. Prior to the mover loading my last mattress and couch, he stated I would go over the 447 cubic feet allowed for my load. I first stated that I was told my load was by items and knew nothing of cubic feet being the determining factor. Then I asked how I could go over when I had a table on my list and did not bring it, plus the mattress and couch had not been loaded. The mover stated he had been doing this for so long that he could just look at my couch and tell it was 90 cubic square feet. Also, the truck measured the load. I got a measuring tape and asked the mover to show me how he measured the couch to determine the cubic feet. He would not.

4. The mover then stated that the truck measured the cubic footage. I asked the mover to show me the truck and how it measured a load. We went outside with my measuring tape. The moving truck was a regular Ryder truck. I asked how he could tell I was already at 447 cubic feet. He stated that my load was already at a point in the truck. I said but the truck is not marked anywhere measuring footage. I then asked if he would measure what was loaded on the truck with my measuring tape. He would not.

5. The mover stated I would need to pay an additional $1,000 for going over my footage. I asked him how he calculated that and stated that was impossible especially since I had less stuff. He said he was charging me for 597 cubic feet which came to a total of $3,249.79. I told him I did not have that much money and it appeared he was penalizing me for the mistake Apollo made. The mover said we should call Sarah about the bad estimate I was given. The mover called Sarah on speaker phone. He identified himself and said he was helping me move. Sarah yelled, “She is crazy! Do you know she called the Revdex.com on us?” The mover motioned for me not to speak and asked Sarah to call his boss. She said okay.

6. After speaking with the mover, the mover speaking to his boss, and on and on the mover said he would give me a discount of $300 to lower what I owe and work with me. In the end my amount due was increased. Instead of paying a balance of $1,500; my new balance went to $1,749.70 ($874.85 at pick up and other half $874.85 to be paid at delivery – Attachment C).

Additional discrepancies that occurred following my payment of my deposit:

1. Apollo representative stated I could pay half the amount due upon pickup in cash and the other half with a credit card once my items were delivered and that she got the okay from the movers. Upon arrival the mover stated the only way I could pay using a credit card upon deliver was to pay a day prior to delivery of my items (Attachment D). This meant I would not be able to verify receipt of my items.

2. When making my initial arrangements with the Apollo representative I was told I could make changes to my moving list prior to the movers arriving and/or when they arrive. I was also told that the amount she gave was guaranteed and if I didn’t ship something that amount would be adjusted during pickup. I was later told by Sarah, Apollo manager that no changes could be made regardless of what I was told by the representative. The only thing I could expect was for my price to go up and not down.

3. I told the Apollo representative I had 2 queen size beds. One had a foot board and headboard. But both had the wood railing around the beds (a frame). She said okay and that the frames were counted as part of the bed. The mover counted each frame part as an item which he stated impacted my price (Attachment E) and I should have been told that.

4. Apollo representative stated there should be no problem delivering by Wednesday, June **, 2015. Items were not delivered on Wednesday, June **, 2015 and no one from the moving company called to let me know delivery would not be made. Proof of my delivery date was completed on mover form and verified with the mover (Attachment F).

5. Apollo representative stated packing/wrapping of items on my list was included in my price. Even though I had all my mirrors wrapped with bubble wrap and used my quilts for my pictures (movers did not use any of their supplies for these items and only used their supplies for my couch, bench, and tv stand which was on the list) the mover stated he was going to charge me for packing/wrapping. I told him it was included in my contract and showed it to him. He then said okay.

On Tuesday, June **, 2015 at 12:52pm I called All Over the State Moving and Storage (###-###-####) because I had not heard from them regarding what time they would be arriving at my location Wednesday, June **, 2015. When I called I spoke with Jerri in dispatch. Jerri stated that my items were in storage and not scheduled for delivery as of yet. I told her that that could not be true and that I was scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, June **, 2015. She said to give her an hour because the manager just left and she would call me back after she spoke to him.

At 2:30pm I had not heard from Jerri and called All Over the State Moving and Storage back. Jerri stated that my load was scheduled to go into storage from the day of pickup and she was not sure when I would receive my property. I told her that this could not be correct and that I had paperwork showing my delivery date. She stated that my items would be in storage at least until Friday, June **, 2015 and that they had up to 21 days to hold my property and that I had signed paperwork saying that was okay. I told her that I did not sign paperwork stating that and that I would like to see the paperwork I signed stating that email to me. She stated she would email it to me when we got off the phone. I never received an email with that documentation. I asked her why would they deliberately pickup my items and keep them in storage for a week or longer when they knew my expected delivery date and then not contact me. I told her that I had nothing, starting a new job, and had paid someone to come and help me setup my place. Now I have to buy things I did not budget for just to maintain day to day and possibly pay for a hotel for at least a week. I stated that I never gave permission to have my stuff put in storage. I also stated that I have no idea where my items were. Also, why would I have my items picked up just to sit in storage when I need them? She said she understood. I asked to speak to the manager.

The manager got on the phone and stated the following:

1. My items would not be delivered on tomorrow, Wednesday, June **, 2015

2. He could not tell me when my items would be delivered

3. He did not have a moving truck to deliver my items and that he would have a truck Friday

4. The moving truck would arrive Thursday night

5. When the truck arrive Friday they would load the truck and call me by 12 noon to let me know when my items would be delivered

6. It will take all day to 12 hours to load the truck on Friday

*. The truck was 18 feet long and it made no sense to deliver just my items to Florida and they needed more orders

8. Apollo should have never told me they would have my stuff delivered on Wednesday, June ** because they only make deliveries to customers once per week and that is on Friday

*. After loading the truck on Friday, June [redacted] 2015 they did not know where my items would be placed on the schedule for delivery because it depended on other orders they may get

10. If an order for Atlanta comes in the next few days then that person would be delivered first and that could take a day or two once they overs got to Atlanta. I just depended on the amount of items and how long it takes to unload

I explained to the manager that I had nothing. I was incurring multiple expenses; everyone knew I was starting a job and that I expected delivery Wednesday, June **. 2015. I asked if he knew they had no intentions of delivering my items by that date then why didn’t he tell me. I asked if I could have my items immediately and that giving my situation that I should be first for delivery. He stated he would see what he could do but had no idea of when they would be delivering to me and calling would not change anything. I would just have to wait until he called me Friday, June **, 2015 by 12noon. As of Friday, June **, 2015 at 3pm I have not received a phone call or my shipment items.Desired Settlement: I would like the following: 1. Delivery of my items immediately and in the perfect state I packed them. 2. Due to the deliberate misrepresentation, mental stress, infliction of emotional stress and holding of my items as apparent retaliation for reporting initially to the Revdex.com I would like the entire amount of my delivery cost returned. 3. I would like all additional incurred expenses due to their lack of regard to promises paid (I have receipts).

Business

Response:

The client has received their delivery and was given a $300 discount as stated by them. Also although we strive to deliver on dates that accommodate the client we do not guarantee delivery time frames and the Bill Of Laden contract from the move date specifies delivery timelines which by [redacted] guidelines can take up to 30 days. We apologize if the service failed to meet the clients expectations but did provide a discount and the service. Also the inventory form the day of pick up and from the original estimate shows many additional items therefore that is why the client was given a revised cost on move day.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The services I paid for and were guaranteed did not occurand I was over charged. Upon pickup I had fewer items (for example: did not havedining room table). The only extra items the moving company sated I had were 4bed boards (frames on side of bed). The moving company did not give me a “discount.”They took $300 off of the increased rip off price they over charged me whichthey could not prove through measurement why I was over charged. In addition, upon arrival at my apartment complex the movingcompany refused to deliver my property until I paid the balance. I said that Idid not feel comfortable doing that until my property was delivered to myapartment on the 3rd floor, I was able to verify I had all my items, and my beds were assembled as promised. The mover said they would take my stuffif I did not pay. He said I could verifymy property once they brought it in and they would reassemble my beds. I paid but asked that the mover write “paid infull” on the receipt. He did. After the movers received my money the following occurred: Movers refused to deliver my property to the 3rdfloor and left it in the hallway on the 2nd floor (see video 2ndfloor & 2nd floor attachment).Movers did not reassemble my beds because theydid not deliver anything to my apartment. Mover said demanded more money to delivery tothe 3rd floor. I told him I already paid for that. He said I neededto give him $75 more. I asked if I paid twice would he sign saying I paid again. The mover said he would not sign anything saying he charged me an additional $75fee. Therefore, I did not pay.The invoice the mover had upon delivery did notagree with the original invoice I had when they picked up my items (seeoriginal invoice attachment). I was charged $500 for “other” on the drop offinvoice which could not be explained (see drop off invoice attachment). The $500 military discount I stated in myoriginal Revdex.com complaint that was not on my original bill appeared on the final bill(see drop of invoice attachment). Apollo did not deliver as promise and in actuality did notdeliver at all. I had to pay someone to move my property from the 2ndfloor to the 3rd floor. I had to pay someone to put my bedstogether. Apollo business practices are unethical, manipulative, and amisrepresentation of services.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Actually you stated the movers did not have access to my building and I was charged appropriately. I am asking you, the company I made the contract with to explain what exactly you mean. Why was was I accessed $500 upon deliver? And how would your customer know I would be accessed that? Your company promised me certain expectations and did not deliver. You have not answered my questions via Revdex.com & I do not feel comfortable contacting you since your company managers, 2 thus far have been rude & have not kept their word. I would appreciate answers to my questions.

Business

Response:

According to the Bill of Lading which was signed by the customer, she had an additional 150 CF at the rate of $3.15 each which total $472.50, plus the additional $42.52 for fuel surcharge for the extra space, resulting in a total $515.02 of overage charges. As per the agreement signed by the customer, the price initially estimated becomes non-binding when there is additional weight or cubic feet for the customer's load. Te charges were made according to the rate and agreement of terms and conditions upon making the reservation.

Review: Company failed to show up on time to service my interstate household goods move as per the binding estimate and contract I signed with them. They have refused to take my input into consideration and have been extremely rude. I feel that their estimate is so low that no carrier is willing to accept the move, but they convinced me with their questionable sales methods. I have been waiting since *Jun for them to show up to pick up my household goods, and they didn't call to notify me of a delay or return my multiple calls when they failed to arrive. Now they transfer me from one person to another, refuse to return my calls or put me in touch with their superiors. I am extremely disappointed in the way this business has treated me.Desired Settlement: I would like company to pay the cost difference in hiring another mover to service my move, as they are unable to do so, as they were contractually obligated to service my move on **Jun and failed to do that. A last minute move is considerably more expensive to book, but they had a month to coordinate my move, and I need my household goods ASAP.

Business

Response:

We strive to provide the highest level of service and we did arrange the move to be serviced but the client was unreachable on move day. When we finally did reach the client by phone they stated they made other arrangements. Deposits are min refundable as per our contract. We apologize for the clients difficulties but we did attempt to service them as agreed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response from the business is a straight-up lie. They did not show on my move date and did not call me or return my calls until the next day. They have been giving me the run-around since **Jun and always transfer me to another person and then leave me on hold indefinitely until I am forced to hang up. They will not return my calls, and are not being truthful about their attempt to service my move. I was on them for a week, as they claimed that the truck they dispatched to my home was delayed, and promised to route a different truck, they failed to do that and breached their contract. I was only able to recover my deposit by filing a claim with my credit card company. This company is perpetrating interstate moving fraud, and have caused me to lose hundreds if not thousands of dollars in gas and mileage, as my father drove to our home in [redacted] to meet the movers, only for them not to show. I have been stationed in [redacted] since May without my household goods, having to use disposable plates and silverware, and eating in restaurants because all of my cookware is in [redacted]. If I had chosen a different mover I would have my household goods by now.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I did not choose a different carrier. Apollo Relocation Services failed to show up and we waited six days for them to do so, and still they did not show up. They breached their contract, and were directly responsible for thousands of dollars of expenses because my household goods move was delayed. I am now going to have to pay for airfare to [redacted], as my father is not willing to return and wait like he did for six days, and schedule a move with a different company (or in all likelihood, drive the truck myself, as all other moving companies have told me Apollo is scamming people by offering prices like that which most carriers won't even touch). I am looking at over $6000 in expenses which Apollo is responsible for. I will not hesitate to get the [redacted] Attorney General involved if I have to. Their empty promises have hurt me financially, and they refuse to be held accountable. Their insincere apologies are not going to cut it.

Response:

We would happily offer to have a carrier come service the move if the client still requires the service. We are dedicated to our clients being satisfied and we are sorry the client feels we failed them. We have attempted to reach out to the client to see about making other arrangements if they still need to be moved but have not been able to reach them. We are hoping the client will contact us to see about working this out and getting them moved. We thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

Review: Apollo Relocation Services is the most unprofessional business that I’ve ever worked with. I’m at disbelief that this business is legally able to be in operation. In January of 2016 I accepted a job offer in Tampa FL. At the time, I was living in Rochester NY, working full-time as a Radiation Therapist. The job acceptance and moving process occurred rapidly. I accepted the offer and gave my employer a 2.5-week resignation letter. I would be starting my new position days after that notice. Rather than renting my own [redacted], I decided to pursue a moving company in order to ease the moving process. I did my research online and filled out multiple online estimates for a variety of companies. Apollo was one of them. To my surprise I had a follow-up call within minutes of that inquiry. The “Certified Relocation Coordinator” I spoke to on the phone is named Bryan G[redacted]. He portrayed himself as an extremely friendly and helpful salesman. Little did I know, he was completely misrepresenting the service that I would eventually pay. He was taking advantage of me, a young female professional. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he was good at it.

I was interested in having both my household items and car shipped to my new address in Tampa FL. Bryan was accommodating to this and gave me reassurance that my belongings would be safely delivered in “3-5 business days”. I agreed with the following costs: $1589.76 for my household items and $650 for my vehicle. Bryan reiterated multiple times that this was the final cost. After thinking this cost over for the next few days and doing further research I decided to pursue Apollo. During those days, Bryan was very persistent to receive my business. He emailed and left me multiple follow-up calls. When I called him back to close the deal, he was as friendly as the first call. He said I needed to pay a part of my moving cost now in order to book my move. On the spot, I agreed to pay $500, which would go towards my household items and also $100 for the relocation of my vehicle. I was assured that this initial booking fee would be deducted from the $1589.76 (household) and $650 (car) I agreed upon.

I had no knowledge that Apollo Relocation Services is a broker rather than movers themselves. I also didn’t know that the job would be contracted out to a third-party mover. Bryan knowingly failed to explain all of this to me. He took complete advantage of me. He wanted a quick and easy sale and didn’t care how unprofessional he needed to be to get it done. The “initial moving fees” weren’t being deducted from my final cost; they were going straight to Apollo.

I’ll fast forward to a few weeks when the third-party movers arrived. This moving company is called “Moving Express & Storage”. I had all my belongings in boxes, lined up neatly by the door. I made it very easy for the movers to transfer everything into their truck. The process was quick and easy. However, before they left, I was told I needed to pay an addition $300 for extra packing-this was news to me because Apollo already told me my final amount and said it would not increase after the movers came.

The household movers came and left while I still waited for the movers who were going to transport my vehicle that same day. I called Apollo multiple times requesting more information because I needed to start my own drive from Rochester NY to Tampa FL. I was put on hold each time and told that I would receive a call back once they got ahold of the drivers- I never received those calls. I had no other choice than to leave my car parked outside my apartment with the doors unlocked. I was starting my new position in a few short days, so I needed to start my own drive in a rental car I purchased.

Another day went by, with no follow-up call from Apollo regarding when my car would be picked up. On day 3, after multiple attempts to reach someone at Apollo, I was transferred to Seth. He informed me that my car was not being picked up because of “trucking issues”. Remember, my car is still unlocked outside my apartment that I have officially moved out of and at this time I am driving through North Carolina en route to Tampa. Seth showed no sympathy when I explained my situation. He said he couldn’t tell me when another truck would be available and suggested I find a different company. I was in complete and utter disbelief at how awful this customer service was. Here I was, a 24-year-old female, driving from NY to FL alone, being told I needed to find a new moving service for my car. This may have been a blessing in disguise, because I can’t imagine continuing my horrible experience with Apollo. I found a new moving company called “Freight Brokers of America”. They were extremely accommodating- they shipped my car within days.

My household items were picked up on Monday January [redacted]. Although I was told by Apollo that it would take 3-5 business days for delivery, it took almost 4 weeks. During those 4 weeks I had already begun my new job. I had to purchase new work clothes and many daily necessities since my belongings hadn’t arrived. I also had to purchase an air mattress and sleep on it for those 4 weeks in my new apartment. I called Apollo numerous times to reach out and request where my things were and when it would be delivered. In response, I received the worst customer service. I requested to speak to Bryan but he always seemed to be “out of the office.” I also emailed him but I never heard back. The last time I spoke to him was when I paid for the “initial moving costs”. After multiple frustrating phone calls, I spoke with a variety of people from Apollo. They lied to me multiple times saying the movers were en route in different states when really the movers were still at their home base in NJ. Since my requested follow-up calls from Apollo were never made I asked to receive a follow-up email instead, so I could be informed about where my stuff was. I received nothing. I quickly learned Apollo wanted no records of anything being documented by them.

I finally received my household items, 4 weeks later, from a different moving company than the first. This new moving company is called “[redacted]”. Before unloading the truck, the driver requested that I pay the balance. On the drivers copy of the receipt the amount due was whited out and a new amount was penciled in. I compared my copy of the receipt and questioned the driver about the difference in price. He was caught off guard and very hesitant in his answer. He told me it was fine, to just pay him what my copy says. I ended up paying a total of $2349 for my move. I signed an electronic agreement with Apollo that said it would be a total of $1589. I didn’t argue over the price because at this point I just wanted my belongings in my possession and to move on from this horrifying experience.

Many of my boxes that came off the truck were damaged and wet. My bedroom set that had been recently purchased was damaged and the paint was chipped off. There were also multiple items that were unloaded that didn’t even belong to me.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a partial refund of $1060 to cover the expense and inconvenience that the misleading estimation process caused me. I arrived at this sum by subtracting the total cost I signed for $1589 from the total I paid $2349, and the cost of an airbed, clothes and daily necessitates that I incurred because of the delayed and damaged delivery (approximately $300).

As a young female, I feel as if I was targeted by Apollo Relocation, specifically, Bryan G[redacted]. He took full advantage of me. He completely misrepresented himself and the company. I endured so much stress and frustration with this moving process, mainly from the poor customer service provided by Apollo. I hope Apollo Relocation is reprimanded and investigated for fraud to prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future.

Business

Response:

We apologize for any inconvenience to the customer. However the customer was not charged $2349. The customer was charged an additional $300 for extra packing that had to be done. The customer was not without her items for (4) weeks either. The customer was picked up on January ** 2016, and then she set up a first available delivery date of January [redacted] 2016. The customer was delivered on February * 2016, which was definitely agreed upon. If the customer has any damaged items she can file a claim through the carrier at [redacted]
