I PHONED THIS COMPANY TO REPAIR MY FREEZER. THEY WERE HERE ON THE 24/01/19. I WAS TOLD IF I NEVER HEARD BACK BY THE END OF THE WEEK TO PHONE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I PHONED ON THE MONDAY AND WAS TOLD NOW THAT THE PART WOULD BE IN THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. I PHONED AGAIN TODAY AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN 20 MINUTES. IT'S NOW BEEN OVER TWO AND A HALF HOURS. MY FOOD IS OUTSIDE AND MOSTLY UNTHAWED BY NOW. I PAID THEM $492.48 SO FAR FOR A REPAIR THAT SHOULD OF BEEN A SERVICE CALL AND A PART REPLACEMENT. THE PART IS A COMMON PART THAT SHOULD OF BEEN CARRIED ON HIS SERVICE TRUCK.

Desired Outcome

WOULD LIKE THE JOB FINISHED OR REFUND OF EVERYTHING CHARGED OVER A SERVICE CALL.

I was advise to fix my microwave they will send a technician and he will diagnose the problem. If I accept the cost to fix he will fix else I have to pay $80. He showed up and told to fix it will cost $1000 and as my microwave is very expensive. I call my son and when he showed up they show him the quote and he reject it and they would not leave till he get $220 which he said was for cost to diagnose the problem. My son had to leave so he paid the $80 and sign the receipt for $220 and add in-dispute next to the signature - I told him when I call them they explain that the technician will come out diagnose the problem and provide a quote - if you do not want the quote - then have to pay $80 - we did not want the quote now they want $80 plus money to diagnose the problem. I call to complain and they take my number and never call back, now they send a letter to take me to court.

If you call them they will explain exactly what they tell me $80 to come and diagnose the problem and provide a quote- if you do not want the quote to fix then you have to pay $80 and I pay the $80.

More so the microwave is 1 year old and parts are under warranty and he said he is not affliated with *** tho they site said they fix *** and he hence say $1000 to fix but a new one I end up buying cost $299 plus tax

Desired Outcome

Since they mis-lead me i want them to be honest when you call for them to explain, as I told them it was *** but i do not know the model number and it was 1 year old just past 1 year so I miss the 1 year free repairs. They as experts should tell the truth. I want them to stop threatening me and give me back my $80 as he did not indent to fix any thing when he saw me not knowing much and the moment I agree it was nice microwave he thought he can get the better of me so I call my son - this is not nice

A repair man (***) arrived at my place for the purpose of repairing a dryer that would not heat. The repair took approximately 1 hour and the repair man billed the previous owner of the property $90.4 (contractual obligation with new owner). The repair man advised that there was a build up of lint in the back and it was causing the heating unit to stop. He confirmed that the unit should be functioning well. Given we could not test out a full cycle, I assumed it would be working fine. Next time I used the dryer it was still not drying clothes, the repair was not completed. The previous owner of the property has been notified and will have to arrange for an alternative repair.

The main complaint from my perspective is that while the repair man was here I asked if it would be worth fixing my dishwasher instead of replacing. He confidently said yes and assured me that he knows them model and that the repair is simple. He said that he is VERY confident that labour at the time will get the job done. The repair man asked that I sign and prepay for the labour: he said that the labour is all inclusive of any time that would need to be spent fixing the machine whether parts are needed or not. That I would not have to deal with any labour costs, and he said if parts are needed, it should not be more than $100 on top of that. I signed and paid $316.4 for labour upfront by credit card. I did not read the fine print given it is two full pages and I did not think it would be crucial in good faith - as the repair man explained throughly (but inaccurately) what the contract entails.

The repair man then spent about 10 minutes looking at the dishwasher and quickly concluded that a new motor and pump are needed. He said he will order and come back in a few days, and that I would be responsible for the cost of the parts, and assured I would be billed at cost (

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a full refund of $316.40 given the reasons described in detail. The work was not performed and the appliance has not been repaired.

We called to have our dishwasher serviced as it was not draining properly. We had experienced a similar issue the year before and it was a drainage pump that was the issue. Over the phone we were quoted $80 for an assessment with this $80 going towards repair if it needed repair. We agreed to this and the man arrived a few hours later. He looked at the dishwasher using his computer and found it to be an issue with the main board. I asked for clarification of this issue and he simply stated he wouldn't know until he assessed it further for which we had to pay $280.00 plus tax. I asked if this was not included in the $80 assessment and he said that in fact no, the main board needed servicing so this was the price for labour. He didn't know what the issue was or how to fix it yet. He removed the dishwasher from its place and found the pipe was frozen which was what was causing the blockage. It required hot water to be run through it. The man was here for not quite an hour. When we called the office to clarify why we were being charged for this $280 assessment when it was in fact still apart of the assessment they insisted this was what they charged and that if we didn't pay we would be sent to collections.
We therefore had to pay the bill.

It's not right that a company quotes you as saying it would be $80 to assess only to then blindside you one they're here with an even bigger price tag. I had the option of him not doing anything and the machine remaining broken after paying $80.
In reality the assessment fee should be quoted as $280.

Desired Outcome

We request to have our money refunded. We were okay to pay $80 for the assessment but felt strong armed into essentially paying $280.00 for the assessment

On Jan.16 2019 a serviceman from Appliance Repairman came to our home to diagnose and fix the problem with our freezer, it was no longer freezing out food. The website says that it will cost 80 dollars for him to come out and diagnose our fridge at which time we will continue with the repair or pay the 80 dollars and move on. Little did we know that in actuality it would cost us 280 in order for him to open and diagnose our freezer. He told us we needed a new thermostat so at this point we agreed for him to fix it. He was there for just over an hour and we were charged 497.20 for the repair. He said the freezer is good and left stating it was working. We had put an ice tray with water in the freezer to test it and by the next morning the water was not frozen at all. We call customer service and the scheduled the same repair man to come out again for following Monday. By Saturday our fridge was feeling not as cool as it should be and so I opened the freezer and it was actually warm!!! I had to put all of my food in a cooler outside on my deck in the middle of a snow storm in order for my food not to go bad, and I have 3 children in the house, because now my fridge in freezer were in worse condition than before. I call customer service immediately and they were absolutely no help at all, I told them the situation and she didn't seem to care and just kept telling me the repair man doesn't work on weekends and we will have to have this conversation after the repair man comes back. Now comes Monday, our service call was to be between 4 and 7. He didn't show up until closer to 8. He opened my freezer and I heard him *** a diagnosis. I was livid. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed a new compressor, it was shot. I asked how much that would cost me and he said a 1000 dollars maybe more. I then asked him why he didn't tell me that my compressor was shot when he was here 4 days prior, he told me he didn't check. How does a repair man not check a fridge from top to bottom to give a proper diagnosis? I told him I never would have agreed to change the thermostat if he had told me the compressor would also need to be changed. I simply would have given the 80 dollars the website states and moved on. Now I am out almost 500 dollars and my fridge is still not working properly. We have contacted the company on multiple occasions and also sent them an email stating we would like a refund minus the 80 dollars for the visit as we feel the service we received was beyond unsatisfactory and we were overcharged. They told us they cannot give us a full refund even though our fridge was not repaired by them at all, if anything they further broke it using my hard earned money.

Desired Outcome

We would like a refund of our money minus the 80 dollars for the initial visit.

I hired them to repair a *** refrigerator (fridge was not working but the freezer was working)- Model # ***; Serial # *** Sears Canada Inc.
They sent an inexperienced technician who was instructed over the phone as to how to do the job, didn't even know how to set the temprature on the fridge, and he broke the cover of the Jazz Board. He tried to tape it; tried to glue it but didn't work. He told me that the cover break doesn't affect the functionality of the fridge. He was angry, staring at me etc. So I politely send him out and right away complained to the customer service. For the last three months I am trying to come to a resolution with this company. The complaint was changed hands three times - ***, ***, ***. They offered to settle for $35 and I refused. After dragging so long last week they offered $50. it is insulting. They told me that they will charge $80 for service call and charged $260 plus tax for diagnosing. They grossly inflate the prize of the Jazz board. The technician was at my placed for about 2.5 hours and charged $260 plus tax. If they have sent an experienced technician he would have fixed quicker and he wouldn't have broke the cover. Please help me to reach a fair settlement.

Desired Outcome

Their claim that the broken cover does not affect the funtionality is not acceptable. I want a fair settlement. They charged me about $300 for labour and did a sloppy job. it is their fault to send a untrained technician, and charge professional fees.So I would contend with 50% of labour as compensation ($150.) for the damage.

January 2nd, 2019 contacted Appliance Repairman to come take a look at my electric wall oven. Was told the service fee will be $80 and I told them every single information about my oven (serial #,make of the oven etc.) just to make sure they have experience with repairing this European oven. Instead when the technician came he charged me $316.40 instead of $80.00 and my oven was still not working! Not only did he not fix my oven but also damaged my cabinet wood which surrounds the oven! I called the company back and was told that I need a mother board. After 2 weeks (after nobody approaching me) I called the company and was told the mother board is not available. I told them to refund me the rest of the money so I can go and purchase a new oven and get my cabinet fixed. Instead both managers of customer service, "***" & "***" told me no refund will be given and that they cannot help me further! Till today I am without an oven and spent $316.40 for no reason!!

Desired Outcome

Since the company was not able to fix my oven I need my money back. They overcharged me and damaged my cabinet.

On January X XXXX we had the above company come in to repair our washer and dryer. Upon entering the home, without even looking at the machines the man told my husband he charged a flat rate or $250 whether it took him 5 minutes or an hour. Under the belief from the lady on the phone that that would be waived my husband agreed. Once it was determined what the problem was with the dryer my husband agreed to let them fix it. Then the man then told my husband he wouldn't even touch the washer without another 250 but for my husband he would give him a break and only charge him 200. My husband declined as it already was costing us 752.00 just for the dryer. Within a couple of days we went to do laundry and noticed the dryer was making a noise. A banging noise. My husband called the office to only have to leave a message and told someone would get back to him. He had to call 3 or more times with days between each call. Finally my husband made arrangements for someone to come out. This would have been Monday Jan. 20th. At 2 minutes to 1pm when the repairman was to arrive their office called and informed us they had booked it incorrectly. That the next day they could get someone was Wednesday. So we agreed. Come Wednesday we waited between the hours of 3pm - 6pm. No call. No repairman. My husband at that point called to be told no one was coming out as the repairman had car issues which put him behind and so he canceled the call. At this point I seen a pattern. So while at work I called their office and chose the Customer Service prompt. I was put through to ***. I started to explain the situation to her but she simply passed me on to the booking person *** I went into full detail with *** and she was constantly trying to cut me short. Asking me if I had spoke to my husband which I had and that's why I was calling as I was not happy with what was going on. I asked her to take down what I was saying and forward it to her supervisor. I told her. They had made one error on Monday and called at the last minute to reschedule and they had pushed it to 2 days later. That appointment came but this time we didn't even receive a call and when called they pushed it back another 2 days and I told her this was unacceptable. I told her given that this was twice in their error I shouldn't have to be pushed back another 2 days to Friday, that the fact that they had already made the mistake twice that they should be making me a priority and that I should be getting a repair visit tomorrow (Thursday.) *** then told me she booked on availability. I then in turn told her I want this message sent to your superior and I expect a service man out tomorrow and if they could not find one then their supervisor better come out to fix my machine. Also, I expect their supervisor to call me at 9am tomorrow morning. I did indicate to her that my steps following this call was the contact the Revdex.com and the media.

Desired Outcome

At this point since they are not eager to fix the job that they did I think the best solution would be a refund so that I can call in another repairman to fix their job. They can give the money to the Revdex.com and perhaps they can send a reputible repairman. Perhaps for the money they took from us will cover both appliance repairs. I truly feel they shouldnt be in business and their web site should be shut down. I bought all these appliances from ***. All my kitchen and Laundry room. I can even show how I bought 5 year extended warranties on everything and its been a nightmare ever since. People like this company are preying on those who have already been a victim once. In this day and age money does not come easy. We're killing ourselves to survive. Please help me.

On Aug. 2 2018 our fridge *** has broken, i.e., the evaporator fan has failed. We called www.ApplianceRepairman.ca X-XXX-XXX-XXXX and their technical came and replaced the fan for $502.83. However, from the beginning it has started to worked noisier and noisier and, currently, it works as a tractor. We have called the company and sent e-mails, but they refused to do anything, because their warranty for repairs and new fan is only 30 days, which they told us only when we have paid them money!

Desired Outcome

I would like to get full refund in the amount of $502.83! I don't need any their repairs, because they cannot do anything properly plus they apply again their 30-day warranty!

Called to repair leak in dishwasher. Cost approx $100 to come into house non refundable if no work was done. Said it could be door alignment which he redid for $280. It took him 1/2 hour. After this it leaked even more. He said if this didn't fix it it could be the seal. He said none of the work was guaranteed after he did it. After we looked at the seal when it was still leaking after alignment we realized it was cut. He should have seen that from the beginning. He basically knew that alignment wasn't the problem. Then he told me that if it was the seal after completing the first service that it would be another $440 to fix. The seal is $95 and can be put in very easily in less than 5 minutes. That is highway robbery. He says they don't work by the hour, it is the job. Certain prices for certain jobs and everyone works like that. Date done January 4, 2019. Looks like name is ***. Payed by debit. Payment with tax $316.40. I wanted to go with *** but they did not fix LG and my washing machine was leaking as well so I had to find someone that did both makes. He said the washing machine seal would be about $600 which is more than the machine would cost. *** would have charged me $95 for seal and $110 for labour to put it in. Half the price of Appliance repairman. I thought $280 was too much but if I had to pay him $100 for call and do nothing, what would happen if I had to get someone else.

Desired Outcome

I think he should refund my money as he did not fix it and made it worse and he would have seen the seal. He just wanted to make the most money he could.

The initial quote was for $80 to do a service call. Upon arrival, the technician (***) informed me that to properly diagnose the problem, he would have to open the machine at a cost of $280 and an additional $260 to look at a Range Hood. I gullibly agreed and signed his form, not realizing at the time that this is not a standard charge for repair companies. After the diagnosis, *** informed me that a control board and display board parts would need to be ordered for $1,117.20 plus more labour charges. My wife indicated that at this cost wouldn?t it be worth just buying a new stove which he explained that these new parts would make the stove new again.I am therefore writing to request a partial reimbursement of the fees I was charged since my stove is still not fully repaired (due to the company wanting more money for additional parts that was missed in the diagnosis and that *** verbally informed me would be free of charge. The price I paid ($1,872.63) would have gotten me a new functioning stove (https://www.***.com/Kitchen-Appliances/Ranges/Electric-Range/***/).I am willing to pay $916.86 (as outlined in the email I sent to Appliance Repair Man ***) The company called called back to offer to finalize the repairs and cancelled without rescheduling.

Desired Outcome

I am willing to pay $916.86 (as outlined in the complaint letter) which means that I would like a credit for the amount of $955.77
