Appliance Repairman Reviews (%countItem)

Beginning in Ocober 2018, we contracted Appliance Repairman to fix a *** washing machine. They quoted us $700 to fix a problem with the water. The problem persisted, they came back and told us another part needed to be replaced. We paid an additional $700 (or thereabouts). This is not fix the problem. They told us the motherboard needed to be replaced for an additional $600. This is not fix the problem. Since December 14, 2018, I have been trying to reach them. They assured me in February that they would have a senior technician come to the house but instead sent the same person who has been coming on and off for several months. They claimed that the motherboard was defective from the manufacturer. They 'replaced' it around February 27. This still did not fix the problem.

I have telephoned more than a dozen times, been placed on hold for 20 minutes or more then disconnected, promised to return calls by management that never come.

Desired Outcome

I want them to repair the machine and refund me at least one of the parts I paid for that was either not broken at all or not needed to fix the problem.

We have been billed$581.95 so far to repair a defective microwave. ( paid up front ) The microwave is partially dissasembled sitting on my balcony and the company will now do no further repairs until we give them another $400.00 ( approx. ) They say it needs another part which we must pay for part and labour up front before the'll do any more work. So far I have a very expensive paper weight on my balcony. ***. I personally would have told them to leave without any $$$ if they were talking to me. Unfortunately I work full time and was not there when the service people showed up.When I spoke to the technician on the phone Tuesday the 26th of march. I told him to order the part repair the machine and we will pay for the repairs. He told the office we told him not to order the part !!! So as it stands right now they will do nothing until we pay up front again!!! ***. However not my field of expertise so I can't argue about what if anything may or may not be wrong with the unit. I don't think it's unreasonable to request they finish the job before we pay them any more money. We will be happy to pay if and when they prove they can actually fix something.

Desired Outcome

Simple .. give us a working microwave as requested and we will be happy to pay any oustanding balance on the spot !!!!!!!!!

I called this company, clearly explaining that all I needed was a tool/person to help to knock out the bearings on our *** washing machine. I had already spent 2-3 hours trying to knock them out. They said no problem and that they would send a tech out to assist with that.

The tech showed up...said "we don't do that", offered to sell a new drum for $850...stayed for 5 minutes...and then took my $100.

You tell them the problem, and they say no problem we'll send someone right over. They have NO INTENTION of solving anything, they will walk in stay for 5 minutes...say they can't do anything...take your $100 and disappear.

Desired Outcome

I want my money back. You knew the problem before you showed up, because I indicated it on the phone to the receptionist. Your business acknowledge that, and indicated that they would send someone over to help with that. The person that showed up essentially said no we don't do that, and then expected money to be provided.

Quoted $265 to repair my washer. Could not repair my washer, requested an additional $380 to complete the job. Paid him $95.00 and told him that I would hire someone else. Hes requesting and additional $120 from me when the job was not competed. Service man stated that he could fix it and get my washer running before he started to fix. Very expensive, *** quoted me $360 less to fix my washer.

Desired Outcome

To credit the balance of my account and to return the money I paid him.

Serviceman did minimal analysis of my fridge which was beeping and temperature was not stable. He said he knew the issue and required no parts as he was an expert and had seen this many times. I told him that I did not want to spend alot of money on the fridge due to its age and if required parts, I would not go ahead with the service. He assured me that no parts were required. He filled in the invoice and I signed it. He said he reset the main switch and 30 minutes later said the fridge was fixed. I told him that the fridge was still beeping and he said, no worries, once it is plugged in for 3 hours, it would stop when the temperature rose. He assured again that he was an expert and seen this many times. I confirmed again that no parts were required and I took his word for it and paid and he left. I then looked on the invoice and he had written after I had signed there was an extremely expensive part required. I thought back and realized that he filled that in after I had signed as he said that he forgot to add the first time customer coupon ($15 discount). What made matters worse is that when I called the company to complain that not only was my fridge not fixed, but he did not even communicate that a part was required, they simply said, well you signed the invoice approving the work. There was no effort to assist the situation at all. I left multiple messages for a manager to call me back (as my food was spoiling due to the fridge working even worse after that it had supposedly been serviced) and they did not call me back. I kept calling and just by luck, the manager finally answered and was no help at all.

Unfortunately, I was in a bind and wanted this fixed and did not do the usual research on the company, and if I had I would have found that this company does this all the time.

The initial fee was$80 on arrival the technician said he knew what the problem was with the dryer it would cost $361 told I had to pay first and had me sign 2 places on the invoice the problem he said was the drum needed alignment he put the machine back together and he wouldnt have to service it because it was clean when questioned about why it was so high the price to fix it by my husband and why they were broken parts *** the technician decided to leave the dryer does not work the top flap is broken its missing screws I called the head office and was told I signed that sservices and charges as being satisfactory this is nonsense my dryer is in worse condition than before

Desired Outcome

Im seeking a full refund on my money and a replacement part that was broken and screws replaced

I called Appliance Repairman for someone to fix my dryer.

They send a technician named ***. This guy comes and checks my dryer and tells me there is someone wrong with my dryers alignment. So he tells me he will charge me $320 to fix it and that does not include parts. He said if I open the dryer and fix the alignment and if that's not the reason and there are parts that need to be replaced, he will charge me separately for that. So basically he told me that I'm paying for his 1-2 hour job of labour to fix the alignment of my dryer for $320.

Is this guy serious?? I call the company number and tell them and they say whatever he charges is correct. Big time ***!!!!

I told him no and paid for his service charge for nothing. $90.

I call two other places and they tell me there is no such thing as an alignment to be fixed on a dryer. Rediculous !!

I got my dryer fixed by another tech that only charged me $100 to put a new fuse and close it back up.

Desired Outcome

No resolution just a review of their bad business

One of my tenant contacted on Feb 13 to tell me that the dryer wasn't working. I immediately searched for an appliance service company and called Appliance Repairman. I was told that the 80$ service fee would be waived if I went ahead with the repairs required. A technician was conveniently on hand to quote me over 200$ for the work, judging on my description of the problem. I agreed to the service call and arranged for one of my tenants to be present. Customer service called me to confirm the total cost of 316.40$ for the repairs, and desperate, I agreed. According to the invoice that I eventually received, the technician service the main board, the safety system and the wiring system, tested the unit and went on his way. On March 8, my tenant contacted me to say that the dryer was acting up again. He said that it was still shutting off after a few minutes, that the lint trap light remained on despite the lint trap being empty and that after only 5 minutes, the inside of the drum was excessively hot. I called on Friday March 8 2019 to discuss the repairs and repeat my request to have the invoice emailed to me as requested on my initial service call. I had not received. I was told that the customer service agent would have to speak to the technician and assured me that she would get back to me the same day or, at the latest, the following day. I called back on Monday the 11th and *** told me that the person in charge of invoicing was away and would get back to me the next day. Unsurprisingly, no one called me, so I called back on Wednesday to speak to *** with the same concerns and was absolutely assured that she would get back to me. I had to call back on Thursday and directly asked to speak to manager *** who after typing my email address incorrectly several times in different ways, she finally managed to email me an invoice.

*** offered a 45$ courtesy reimbursement, saying that labor could not be refunded. She promised to email me a waiver, which I have never received. I emailed her to bring her attention to my misspelt email addresses, but never heard from her.

I am very tired of this *** and do not appreciate having to run after service. In my view, I have been ***, dismissed, and avoided. The company offered to send the technician to look at the dryer a second time, but after reading the negative comments about this company on several review sites, I am not confident that he can be trusted.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund of 316.40$ in order to pay for a competent repairman or to buy a new dryer. This will also compensate me for the time I have wasted trying to get answers and service.

They legitimately don't know what they are fixing. The repairman came in - reviewed the dryer - gave me a quote on the fix (came out to $250). Low and behold 1.5 hours later - that didn't fix the dryer and they needed to order a timer control for $450 + tax. Couldn't show me the part as his phone was dead. So I am out the $250 - realize I should have called a friend who does property maintenance for a referral - sent their repair guy - diagnosed in 15 minutes (timer control) - part is $200. It was the price gauge on the part and no trust that they could fix it that got me.

I called Oshawa location for repair of my Oven and was told on phone Tech will come to diagnose the problem.
$80.00 will be service call to diagnose the trouble plus cost of part if required any.
When Tech came he told me it will be $280.00 to diagnose the trouble plus $276.92 for the part (Duel Burner Switch).
The Switch costs only $73.33 for which I was charged huge amount.
Please refund the amount $403.59 plus tax as charged excessive to original amount committed.

Desired Outcome
