A Briggs & Stratton Standby generator specialist contacted the customer and provided the correct information The customer will work with the local dealer moving forward

Mr [redacted] continues to request monetary compensation siting the difference between his previous Troy-Bilt pressure washer which cost $and his current Husqvarna pressure washer which cost $(prices quoted per the customer's initial phone call to Briggs & Stratton) He is not comparing like units The Troy-Bilt pressure washer is a 2-wheeled unit with a ft1/4" high pressure hose and a gallon fuel tank The Husqvarna pressure washer is a larger unit that has wheels, a heavy duty ft5/16" high pressure hose and gallon fuel tank These are only some of the differences Briggs & Stratton will not be offering any monetary compensation

Briggs & Stratton has authorized complete cause of failure analysis - if manufacturing defect is found then engine will be repaired under warranty, if cause of failure is due to lack of maintenance then this will not be a warranty repair

Briggs & Stratton warranty covers this engine for years from the date of purchase for manufacturing defects in material or workmanship It does not cover fuel or maintenance related issues The customer has been advised to take the engine into an authorized Briggs & Stratton warranty dealer for a diagnostic to determine cause of failure A service dealer within a few miles of the customer's address was contacted by Briggs & Stratton and confirmed that they have the facilities to accommodate the large trail mower The customer will be advised of the cause of failure after the completion of the engine diagnostic

We have authorized the Service Dealer to send engine under our expenseWe are awaiting the arrival of the engine to our factory for complete inspection, at this time we will determine coverage.Thank you, [redacted]

This was not a warrantable repair Customer has not responded to several attempts at contact

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] ,when I purchased this mower it ran for four mounts, then It would not crank, so I changed the spark plug but still nothing happenedI decided to call customer service and they told me to take it to one of there service centers, so I didThey told me that my mower is missing a part, so I asked what part? the person told me its called a barrel and the mower would not run with out itSo I told her It ran for four mounts, she said it can not run without the part..I asked her does the part sit on the outside of the mower or the inside? she said the inside,I said you guys were the only ones in it you must have took it out, she said we didn't take it out, I said well I didn't take it outWhen I brought the mower to you guys no one has ever been in it so that means that you guys took it outShe said we didn't take it out, I said I didn't take it out I don't even no what it looks likeAnd why would I want to tare up something I paid for? If your service department did not remove the part and I know that I didn't do it, then it must be something they missed at the factory...Or when they took my mower apart they misplaced it and told the service desk it was never in the mower cause it took them over minutes to bring it out, cause the woman told me they had to put it back together, maybe thats when they lost it so they decided to make me pay for it saying it was never there..If it ran for me and you say it wouldn't run without the part and I have never been in it then your people must have lost it when they opened it

This incident was resolved 8/24/The equipment was repaired at no cost to the ConsumerCustomer has picked up the equiptment.-- [redacted]

The customer was unable to provide a copy of the paid invoice Briggs received a copy of the invoice from the dealer on October 2015A check request for the customer has been submitted and is in process with Briggs accounting

Customer was called, warranty coverage and procedure was explained, customer was referred to an authorized Briggs & Stratton dealer for engine diagnostic and warranty determination

The customer was advised that the warranty covers any manufacturing defects for years from the date of purchase The warranty does not cover fuel or maintenance related items If the engine is within the warranty time frame the customer was instructed to take the original proof of purchase along with her pressure washer to an authorized Briggs & Stratton warranty dealer for inspection and warranty determination
