Consumer sent over the information that was requested from the business (model/serial #, work order information), but he hasn't yet received confirmation that all of the requested information was received. Could this be confirmed by the business?

This is the first that I have known that this particular engine "is not the one for this mower".  Buying from Rural King in New Philadelphia the afore mentioned engine I was told by both the manager and the fella who "installed" it that this was the engine for this mower.  Until today, I have not and was not aware that this was/is "not the engine".  Paying 600.00 for this engine and upon my engine failing and coming across information that this particular engine "runs hot" and which IS KNOWN to OVERHEAT and BLOW headgaskets.    I am NOT ACCEPTING Briggs and Strattons "non offer of a warranty".  As far as I am concerned, this engine has (supposedly) been fixed, as I state here this is a first heard for me, and this should then START a NEW warranty since the engine has been "fixed" and should start over as new since whatever has been replaced.  No WARRANTY...NO ACCEPTANCE!  This tells me that Briggs and Stratton does not and will not stand behind their junk offered for sale within this country and I am sure Consumer Reports will gladly listen to this story regarding a NEW engine which FAILED.IF Briggs and Stratton feels that the REASON for FAILURE of this ENGINE was BECAUSE of "Not FITTING"/wrong engine....and up to this point have been "OUT of the LOOP", then I want to SEE what and ALL evidence they have where they came to this conclusion.  ALL notes, pictures, evaluations, etc.  Iam not surprised since experiencing nothing but NEGATIVITY from Briggs and Stratton Customer Service, except one young man......and maybe the lady who called me initially to tell me to take the mower to the dealer.  Nothing but HASSLE and deniability from the get go.  Being close in age of  a senior citizen and a single woman with limited funds, I have and will pursue a complaint through the Ohio Attorney Generals office.

Per the authorized Briggs & Stratton dealer, in June 2015 the engine was presented with moisture in the fuel, carburetor was replaced at no charge to customer, subsequent non-starting issue in Aug 2015 was also moisture in fuel, dealer flushed fuel system at no charge to customer.  25 Mar...

2016 the engine was presented to dealer low on oil with fouled spark plug and dirty carburetor.  No manufacturing defects found, not a warranty repair.

We did a full analysis of case and reimbursed cusotmer for the repairs. Customer was sent a check 7/16/15.Thank you,[redacted]Briggs & Stratton Answer Center

Regards,
[redacted] ,when I purchased this mower it ran for four mounts, then It would not crank, so I changed the spark plug but still nothing happened. I decided to call customer service and they told me to take it to one of there service centers, so I did. They told me that my mower is missing a part, so I asked what part? the person told me its called a barrel and the mower would not run with out it. So I told her It ran for four mounts, she said it can not run without the part..I asked her does the part sit on the outside of the mower or the inside? she said the inside,I said you guys were the only ones in it you must have took it out, she said we didn't take it out, I said well I didn't take it out. When I brought the mower to you guys no one has ever been in it so that means that you guys took it out. She said we didn't take it out, I said I didn't take it out I don't even no what it looks like. And why would I want to tare up something I paid for? If your service department did not remove the part and I know that I didn't do it, then it must be something they missed at the factory...Or when they took my mower apart they misplaced it and told the service desk it was never in the mower cause it took them over 30 minutes to bring it out, cause the woman told me they had to put it back together, maybe thats when they lost it so they decided to make me pay for it saying it was never there..If it ran for me and you say it wouldn't run without the part and I have never been in it then your people must have lost it when they opened it..

Customer was reimbursed for repairs

Unit was out of warranty when customer contacted Briggs & Stratton.  Briggs & Stratton paid for a second opinion diagnostic of the engine.  Both dealers agree that the unit was not properly maintained.  There were no manufacturing defects found, this is not a warranty repair.
