AutoCheck Reviews (367)

The event in question was confirmed by the reporting source on two separate occasions last year when the consumer submitted their request initially. We have escalated the request further...

and have now received a confirmation of error. We have submitted to remove the event in question and the AutoCheck vehicle history report has been updated. An update report has been sent to the consumer via email and we apologize for any inconvenience.

We
have reviewed the customer’s complaint and have been in communication with the
client both via phone and email. The number of owners for the vehicle in
question was researched and verified on our end as one owner, but the customer
continues to dispute that [redacted] is reporting as two. The customer was advised
that ownership is determined by registered title
owners, this information would only come from the DMV. Experian cannot speak
for [redacted] as to what their logic or business rules are which would code this
vehicle as a two owner in their system.
Our research has confirmed that all titles issued with
the same title # and last name within the vehicle's history. The state of
Florida has this vehicle listed as one owner vehicle. In turn, Experian
AutoCheck is reflecting this vehicle as a one owner per the state data history.
Florida DMV data can be obtained online at [redacted]
The customer was provided this link along with a PDF print out of the result
for his vehicle which shows as one owner.
The customer was issued a refund of $10.99 for the
AutoCheck report he purchased through [redacted] as a courtesy on 4/20/2015.
Experian cannot refund the [redacted] report transaction as
we are a separate company. The customer will need to contact [redacted] directly
for refund as well as further dispute of the ownership data they are reporting.
We will require documentation from the Florida DMV
which would indicate that the vehicle has had two separate titled owners for
further review and will advise of next steps accordingly.

Our records indicate that a customer service representative responded to an inquiry on 2/3/14 advising the consumer that a full refund has been issued.  Refunds can take up 7-10 business days to clear.  If a refund has not cleared after that time frame, the consumer can call ###-###-####...

and reference case# [redacted].

Frustrating company to deal with. Even though the personnel there seem nice and friendly, the system is designed to do as little as possible unless pushed very hard to do the proper thing. Facts didnt seem to matter and the customer being inconvenienced had no bearing on their actions to resolve THEIR mistakes. Was lied to by one associate, dont know if it was on purpose or just ignorance. A matter that lingered for 10 days wasnt resolved until a very stern call was made to the company. It resolved within 10 minutes of the unpleasant call. Totally unnecessary hassle.

HELLO-THE VIN # IS [redacted]. IT SHOWS THE CAR BEING A 1 OWNER CAR WHEN I PURCHASED THE EXPERIAN AUTOCHECK.. WHEN THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO MY HOME I FOUND A RECEIPT WITH A DIFFERENT OWNERS NAME AND BECAME SUSPICIOUS AND THATS WHEN I PURCHASED  A [redacted] REPORT FOR THE SAME VIN # AND IT SHOWS IT BEING A 2 OWNER CAR. I PAID 1,000 EXTRA AND OVER RETAIL PRICE FOR THIS 1995 CADILLAC AS THE CAR WAS SOLD TO ME AS BEING A RARE 1 OWNER CAR WHEN IN FACT IT IS A 2 OWNER CAR. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY ARE DOING NOTHING.[redacted]

We have thoroughly researched this matter and previously responded to Mr. [redacted] via [redacted] Resolution Center. Mr. [redacted] purchased an AutoCheck subscription of 25 Reports for 21 days on January 30, 2017. At the time of purchase, our site clearly stated this purchase was for 25 reports for 21 days. We...

have confirmed that Mr. [redacted] had access to his subscription for the full 21 days. Surveys and promotional emails are only sent to Consumers if they check a box to receive said offers during checkout. Based on the information above, we continue to respectfully decline his request for reinstatement of the subscription, as well as his request for a refund of $49.99. I have attached a screenshot of AutoCheck.com, which clearly reflects the Subscription Term, a screenshot of the checkout screen, which shows the box that Consumers need to check to opt in to receive additional offers and emails from us, as well as the AutoCheck Order with the multiple VINs pulled and viewed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Since my insurance company is a valid reporting source I find it unsatisfactory that you are unwilling to add the details of the minor damage done to my vehicle. The most recent incident included in your report came from my insurance company and contains these details. I would hope that you would prefer to obtain complete and accurate accident/damage details from the insurance company over an auto body shop that could care less if the details are complete or correct.

We have researched Ms. [redacted] concerns regarding the integrity of the data displayed on the Vehicle History Report purchased on September 23, 2015. We are committed to making information...

available to those who access our product as soon as possible (i.e. as soon as it is reported to us) and do believe that vehicle history reports are an integral part of the pre-owned vehicle purchase process. However, this should only be one step of the process. In addition to purchasing a vehicle history report, we encourage every pre-owned vehicle shopper to physically inspect the vehicle whenever possible and to have a licensed mechanic inspect the vehicle to ensure the best and safest vehicle choice is made. AutoCheck reports on accident damage when and if that information is provided to us. Therefore, we may not provide information on every accident in which a vehicle may have been involved. As a respository for data, information is reported on a continual basis as it becomes available. This data may be more current or historically dated but is listed to the report as it is received. In this case, we have not received data from any of our sources that indicates this vehicle has been damaged or involved in a collision. Since the Vehicle History Report was purchased more than six months ago, a refund can no longer issued back to the originating payment source. However, I have provided a Coupon Code below, which is good for one free, single AutoCheck Vehicle History Report. Coupon Code: [redacted] This Coupon Code may be redeemed by contacting us at: Experian Automotive Customer Support 1-888-409-2204 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Time

Our records indicated that the customer was in contact via email with a customer support representative of ours on 11/4/14.  We show that another copy of the report was delivered in the email to the customer.

If the customer needs anything else, they can contact...

us at ###-###-#### M-F 8am-7pm CST or by email at [email protected].

Thanks.

It's obvious that neither Experian or myself are going to budge. If you want to carry things further, please do. If not place me in the totally dissatisfied column dealing with Experian and so note in your reports.
Thank you for providing an avenue for me to vent, [redacted]

AutoCheck receives information as is from various sources. We are not informed of any discrepancies upon receipt of the data until it is disputed by an individual or business entity. If...

the data is deemed inaccurate, it is removed. However, that is contingent upon receiving supporting evidence from our data sources and contacts. In this case, we were able to confirm with the Michigan State Police that the accident was incorrectly recorded in their database and tied to [redacted]'s VIN # in error. Based on this information, we deleted the accident from the Vehicle History Report and sent [redacted] an email on September 26, 2016, to confirm this correction.

We have reviewed the consumer’s support case and apologize for any
inconveniences caused.  We will continue
to work internally with the agent to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved
from all our customers.  We will also be
issuing a refund for services paid back to the consumer out...

In regards to the AutoCheck score concerns, the consumer should be
informed that there are many different factors that affect the score.  Year, make, model, mileage, owners, etc., can
all play a part in the overall score of the vehicle.  It is also important that the consumer know,
the score is not based on a scale of 0-100 but is based on how the vehicle
rates when compared to vehicles of the similar make and class.
After working with the consumer to correct update an odometer reading
from a service record, the vehicle in question currently scores a 94 which is above
the range of similar scored vehicles of 79-88.
More information on the factors influencing the score are provided on
the AutoCheck report for the vehicle.
The consumer can view the report online and click on “About the Score”
link.
The consumer can visit also www.autocheck.com

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I couldn't believe how much more reliable Auto Check was compared to CarFax. With Auto Check you don't have to worry about the car dealer making adjustments to the vehicle history reports like they can with a Car Fax vehicle report.
Made my car buying experience much better and I felt safer in my decision. Thank you.

We have reviewed [redacted] concerns and confirmed that after further research on our end, the accident in dispute was removed from the Vehicle History Report on December 2, 2016. An...

email was sent to [redacted] at that time to confirm this update.

Thank you for your email regarding a complaint by Mr. [redacted] regarding Experian’s AutoCheck service for which the three dealerships he represents (Winn Volkswagen, Winn Kia, and Winn Hyundai) entered into one year services contracts on April 29, 2016.   Experian has reviewed Mr. [redacted]'s assertions and has confirmed that Mr. [redacted] has misrepresented his discussions with Experian’s representative, as he was expressly advised during telephone conversations that AutoCheck vehicle history reports do not incorporate certified pre-owned information for the three manufacturers.  Mr. [redacted] raises an additional claim that Experian should have advised him that Experian vehicle history reports do not contain all service and recall data for every vehicle.   Neither Experian nor any other commercial vehicle history report provider possess access to all potential vehicle history records applicable to all vehicles and clearly disclose this disclaimer on our respective sites.Experian disputes Mr. [redacted]'s assertions but we will continue to have our Account Manager work directly with him to attempt to resolve this matter.

Checked the VIN on my vehicle to see what populated as I'm trying to sell it. The preliminary report said it had been in an accident, damaged by flood, multiple owners, reported stolen, reported as a loss or lemon. NONE OF THESE ARE TRUE.

The AutoCheck score did not change because the car was titled in
another state, rather a title with a negative remark was provided to us from
the state of WI.  Our AutoCheck score, in
short, is a rating summarizing the...

list of report data contained within our vehicle
history reports.
More information on our AutoCheck Score can be found here:  http://www.autocheck.com/consumers/content/autocheck-score.do
We have also taken the liberty to contact the WI DMV to try and verify
the record.  In speaking with one of their
agent’s, they informed us that the when the consumer re-titled the vehicle in
WI, they had the vehicle marked with a Manufacturer Buyback record.  We have contractual agreements with our data sources
in which we are not allowed to remove information without supporting
documentation from the data source that supplied us the record.  Since the state is verifying this Manufacturer
Buyback record to be in there system, the current owner will need to work with
the WI DMV to correct this.
For the consumer’s convenience, we have attached a copy of the most
current vehicle history report.
