Dear [redacted] We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID # [redacted]). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience. At Avant, we pride ourselves in providing excellent service to all of our customers and take all feedback...

seriously. As you are aware, you contacted Avant on June 18, 2016 and paid a total of $6,900.00 via debit card. Subsequently, a payment for your remaining balance in the amount of $1,136.65 was scheduled on your Customer Dashboard to be debited via ACH from the bank account on file on Monday, June 20, 2016. As a result of the full loan balance being scheduled to be paid, no additional payments were able to be scheduled on your account and your account was marked as paid off. On June 22, 2016, the ACH payment of $1,136.65 returned, which caused your loan to reopen. In a call on July 14, 2016, a specialist explained how your previous payments had been allocated and that your remaining balance would have to be paid for your loan to be closed. Per your loan agreement, payment are applied first to any outstanding fees, then to interest, and then to the principal balance of your loan. On July 15, 2016, Avant contacted you and confirmed that, as a courtesy, a payment of $1,136.65 would be accepted to satisfy your loan balance, provided this payment is received on or before August 12, 2016.We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

Dear [redacted], We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID # [redacted]. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience. At Avant, we pride ourselves in providing excellent service to all of our customers and take all feedback...

seriously.According to our records, on June 3, 2014, you initiated an inquiry for credit and signed an account agreement with Avant Credit of Maryland, LLC (“Avant”), agreeing to the rates and terms of a proposed credit line. On June 12, 2014, your line of credit was approved. Accordingly, funds were issued to the bank account on file on or about June 13, 2014.On May 17, 2016, a payment was attempted from the bank account on file for the minimum payment due for that month, as defined in the account agreement. This payment returned on May 18, 2016. The return code for this payment indicated that insufficient funds were available to satisfy the payment that was attempted. On June 2, 2016, you contacted Avant in an effort to update your bank account. Your bank account was updated during this call. In order to verify the bank account you provided was a personal checking or savings account in your name, Avant advised you that documentation such as a voided check or bank statement was required. Additionally, Avant informed you that payments could be scheduled from the updated bank account at that time. Please note, per your account agreement, a late fee will be assessed to your account if the monthly minimum payment due is not made within fifteen (15) days of its payment due date. As your May 17, 2016 payment was not made within this time frame, a late fee was assessed to your account on June 2, 2016.      On June 3, 2016, your periodic statement for the month of May was sent to you via email. This statement detailed your account status through May 31, 2016. Accordingly, it did not include the fee assessed on June 2, 2016. This statement listed the upcoming minimum payment due, effective May 31, 2016, as $988.93. On June 15, 2015, you contacted Avant telephonically. During this call, Avant confirmed that the bank account on file had been updated. Once again, Avant informed you that addition documentation would still be required to verify the updated bank account information. You provided a bank statement during this call to satisfy this requirement. On June 17, 2016, the minimum payment due was debited from the bank account on file as agreed. Please note, per your credit line agreement, the minimum payment due each billing cycle will equal the interest accrued during the billing cycle, an amortized portion of the cash advance fees, a percentage of the outstanding principal balance as detailed in the agreement, and any late payment fees and returned payment fees. Accordingly, the minimum payment debited from your account included the late fee assessed June 2, 2016, making the total minimum payment due, effective June 17, 2016, equal to $1,030.28.Per the ACH authorization you provided in your credit line agreement, you authorized Avant to automatically debit the minimum payment due on each scheduled payment date. Additionally, you further authorized Avant to initiate separate electronic debits for any applicable late charge or returned payment fee, as detailed in the agreement. On June 18, 2016 and June 19, 2016, you contacted Avant via telephone disputing your authorization for the late fee to be included in the minimum payment due for the payment processed on June 17, 2016. During these calls, you also requested copies of your monthly statements for the past year. On June 20, 2016, you contacted Avant via email to dispute the debited amount. You also provided notice that you revoked your ACH authorization. Your account was updated accordingly. That same day, a written explanation was provided of the assessed fee and calculation of the minimum payment due for June 17, 2016, as defined by your line of credit agreement. On August 19, 2016, in accordance with the “Desired Settlement” as listed in your Revdex.com complaint, copies of the monthly statements that were initially provided via email from June 2015 through May 2016 were once again sent to the email address on file for your account. Please note that the minimum payment due as listed in each of these statements may have increased prior to the upcoming monthly payment due date if additional fees were assessed to your account. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. We are confident we comply with all applicable state and federal rules, laws, and regulations. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

I am rejecting this response because: This is not what the website nor the Documentation provided to me or the Customer service department stated. I went with this Co. Because of the reporting to Credit bureau. The amount reported is incorrect. The total was 7800.00 flat. Not 7842.00, And they are showing no payments and 3 have been made. This practices used by this co. are very deceiving and under handed. I believe the public should know what they are capable of.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:I DO NOT owe $222.27 plus $243.71 ( for a total $465.98) on March 22, 2016. All I OWE is ONE FINAL PAYMENT OF $243.71 due on March 22 , 2016, which will be a total of 18 payments as scheduled, per my contract. You are trying to get 19 Payments from me, and your NOT EXPLAINING WHY OR WHERE THIS EXTRA $200 plus is coming from... WHEN ANYONE REQUESTS A PAY OFF AMOUNT, THE FULL AMOUNT IS ALWAYS SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN, and that's the amount I have in WRITING, that will be presented in court in front of the Judge WHO WILL AGREE!

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I have the original copies of the two filed Police Reports which do indeed show Avant as one of the Creditors I was disputing because I also have the ongoing documentation that was not provided to you by the [redacted] Credit Bureau concerning this urgent matter.  "I do, have the Snipping Photo Copies I made directly from my Credit Report with [redacted] Credit Bureau!"  I also provided, two or three of my Bank Statements that show I finally did settle the account under a, "Agreed Settlement Contract because Avant continued to report late payments when I was making them, "Even to the event that after the fact in which [redacted] Credit Bureau allowed them to do this which should be considered illegal as I informed [redacted] on numerous occasions that Avant was still charging me on this account up till the last weeks of April, 2016 and we had settled this account on December 8th, 2015!  So, I ask why is it alright that [redacted] Credit Bureau get to exclude this type of behavior by Avant Inc, yet when I try to state my facts they are not accepted! This should not be allowed as it did effect my credit report as I will be faxing you over the documents for you all to see as I can see that [redacted] Credit Bureau did not provide this most important information to you all and they should have.  In fact, aside from the fact that [redacted] allowed Avant to go on making repeated changes up to four months after we settled this account if you study the police as well you will see that Avant is listed on the very top of those accounts I filed as being fraudulent as that is what was going on!  "At one point, [redacted]'s  Dispute/Fraudulent Supervisor informed me that as long as they had fixed all the problems they saw nothing wrong with what had occurred!   So, again, is this some type of double standard business code of ethics because if is, "I find it to be very illegal per the, Consumer Law in the Truth and Lending Acts!  Why, did they allow Avant to get away with this and I am being punished for what I did correctly!  "I seriously would like to know why [redacted] Credit Bureau did not provide you with the very factual documents that I supplied to them to show them the illegal business practices of Avant Credit!  I am not only disputing the so called, "Late Payments" that I could only supply a few of my bank statements but I am disputing the very fact that, "My Rights were violated by Avant and [redacted] Credit Bureau as I mentioned, up to four months after the account was suppose to be, "Settled and Closed!"  I find this business behavior to be unethical, unprofessional and illegal;" YET, I am not to say a word about it?"  I will provide via fax all the, Snipping Photos I made while [redacted] allowed this to go on!"  "Is these ongoing activity, not a violation of my consumer rights under the Law?  "I also, received from Avant Credit, in August 2016, a Tax Document that clearly states that the account was, "Closed!"  And in this Tax Document from Avant, it states I should file it as 1099?  "This too does not even make sense but I am sending it to you all to see that I am telling you the truth!  My main question and concern is why, "Is both Avant and [redacted] Credit Bureau allowed to conduct such time business?  And make claim that my records I provided to them do not show Avant in the Police Reports or nor do they have the documents I am going to be sending you to prove what went on for up to four months after this account was, "Settled and Closed!" Plus, I will also send you a copy of our Settlement Contract so you can read the writing of its contents which does in deed state, this Account with Avant is, "Forever Closed and deemed Void!"  Please watch for these documents to be sent to you by me via FAX.  You should receive tomorrow, December 9th, 2016.  I give all content to have this investigated as you will now have the documents you need! (This illegal behavior has indeed cost me a lot of money and it should not be disregarded as nothing at all because it is ethically and morally wrong in my opinion!  Sincerely, [redacted]

Dear Richardson [redacted],We are in receipt of your rebuttal with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID # 10983136). As you are aware, on December 3, 2015 you requested a payoff quote for the loan balance effective December 7, 2015. Accordingly, you were provided an amount of $13,846.07 which represented your remaining balance assuming your scheduled installment payment of $600.85 was also made on December 7, 2015. As we have communicated, both amounts were required to be paid in order for the full balance of your loan to be satisfied. That same day, you received an e-mail titled “ATTENTION: Payoff Quote - Avant Customers” which outlined that payoff quotes assume all scheduled payments will be made up through and including the quoted payoff date.As previously explained in the phone call on December 14, 2015, payoff quotes are subject to change. Interest accrues daily on the remaining principal balance of your loan, which can result in your total loan balance changing each day. Accordingly, payoff quotes for different dates can be for different amounts. Therefore, your payoff quote for December 7, 2015 in the amount of $13,846.07 differed from the payoff quote for December 10, 2015 in the amount of $13,866.20.Payments are applied first to outstanding charges, if any, then to accrued interest, and then to principal. Loan balances quoted in payoff quotes only include interest that has accrued on your principal balance up through the quoted payoff date. As detailed in Avant’s initial response to your Revdex.com complaint, Avant elected to issue a courtesy refund for the difference between the payoff quoted for December 7, 2015 in the amount of $13,846.07 and the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) payment scheduled December 10, 2015 in the amount of $13,866.20. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. Here at Avant we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [email protected]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

I am rejecting this response because: Avant is unwilling to admit that there are issues with their mobile app. To this day when I login to the Avant mobile app it is stuck on a screen that reads "Thank you for paying off your loan [redacted] you can reapply April 12, 2016." Also, I monitor my credit with various sites including a membership with [redacted] and my credit score is the same it was last year in June when I received my first loan. It is not acceptable to treat a good, trustworthy customer this way! Even on the phone an Avant representative stated that there are issues with their mobile app and site and to only login with google chrome. My income is well over my debt, I'm not buying their excuses.
Sincerely,

Dear [redacted]We are in receipt of your complaint with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID #[redacted]). We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your customer experience. At Avant, we pride ourselves in providing excellent service to all of our customers and take all feedback...

seriously. As you know, on January 1st, 2017, you called Avant requesting a payoff quote.  The payoff quote provided to you at the time was scheduled for January 3rd, 2017 in the amount of $2,275.17.  Upon reviewing the call in question, please be advised that our specialist clearly disclosed to you that the payoff quote assumed you would make all installment payments scheduled prior to or on that date.  Please note that your January 2017 installment payment was also scheduled for January 3rd, 2017 in the amount of $111.68.  Accordingly, the payoff quote provided to you assumed you would pay the $111.68 due on January 3rd, 2017 in addition to the quoted payoff amount.   Therefore, since you were properly notified of this condition, we are unable to offer you a refund for the requested amount. Additionally, per company policy, we are unable to accept payments via credit or debit card which are greater than a customer’s regular installment amount rounded up to nearest $10.00.  Any payments greater than this amount must be made by an alternative method such as ACH or Remotely Created Check.  As your additional payment on January 3rd, 2017 was greater than your regular monthly installment amount rounded up to the nearest $10.00, our specialist correctly informed you that we would be unable to accept a debit or credit card for that particular payment. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [redacted]. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.Sincerely,Avant Compliance Department

I am rejecting this response because: The loan documents Avant sent to me clearly states that [redacted] is the creditor of the loan.  It also shows [redacted], c/o Advant on the first page of the document.  In my opinion, c/o does not mean Avant is the creditor

seriously. On July 22, 2016, you contacted Avant telephonically and requested a payoff quote for your account. Accordingly, Avant advised you that the payoff amount on the above referenced date was $10,590.12. However, due to an isolated process deficiency, you were mistakenly informed that the cutoff date to receive this payment in order for Avant to honor the payoff quote was August 5, 2016. On August 5, 2016, Avant received a paper check payment in the amount of $10,590.12. Please be advised that, per your loan agreement, daily interest will accrue on the principal balance of your loan. Accordingly, additional interest accrued on your account after you were provided with the previous payoff quote, resulting in a remaining balance. As a result of the above referenced issue, Avant has honored the payoff quote you were provided with on July 22, 2016. Accordingly, your account is now considered paid in full. Additionally, we have received your notice that you are revoking ACH authorization and have made the corresponding changes to your account. We apologize for any inconvenience. Furthermore, we have furnished information regarding the closure of your account to the three major credit reporting agencies: [redacted] effective August 5, 2016. As each credit reporting agency follows its own schedule in updating their reporting, there may be a delay before the appearance of the updated information on your credit reports. Please be advised that we are unable to remove late reporting when we have verified the information is accurate. On October 29, 2015, you failed to make your scheduled installment payment. Accordingly, your account fell into “late” status and was subsequently reported as 30-59 days past due on November 30, 2015. As this has been reported accurately, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) prevents us from removing this information from your credit report. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Compliance Department directly at [email protected]. feedback seriously. As you are aware, on May 24, 2017, you called Avant requesting a payoff quote for your [redacted] installment loan via the Avant Platform. [redacted] is the credit issuer for the Avant Platform, a closed-end installment loan program, where Avant operates as the administrator and servicer of the program. In response to your request, you were provided the payoff quote for $4,272.86 effective June 1, 2017. Please be advised this quote was subject to change. In order to honor the quote, you were advised that you must ensure we receive your payment within 4 business days of the quoted date. You were provided confirmation of this via email to the email address on file. On June 6, 2017, you received a call from Avant where you confirmed that your check had been mailed and could be expected later that day. According to our records, on June 7, 2017 Avant received a paper check payment in the amount of $4,583.00. This payment was applied to your account and your account was marked as paid in full. As a result of the overpayment of your account balance, you were issued a refund on June 27, 2017. Note that, due to an isolated process issue, the payoff amount effective June 1, 2017 was not honored, and instead the refund which was provided was the difference between the amount of your paper check and the payoff amount for your account as of June 7, 2017, the date the check was received. On July 24, 2017, your account was corrected and, consequently, a refund for an additional $8.31 for the overpayment of your account will be issued. Please be advised this refund may take two to three weeks to process and issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. seriously. As you are aware, on July 13, 2016 you initiated a loan request for a [redacted] installment loan issued through the Avant Platform. [redacted] is the credit issuer for the Avant Platform, a closed-end installment loan program, where Avant operates as the administrator and servicer of the program. On July 14, 2016, you signed a loan agreement detailing the full rates of your loan and your loan request was approved. Notice of this approval was provided via email, which included a copy of your signed loan agreement.Per your loan agreement, written notice is required to opt out of recurring ACH payments. On Saturday, December 17, 2016, you contacted Avant via email and provided notice that your account should be opted out of ACH payments. Confirmation that your account had been updated to reflect your requested changes was provided via email that same day. Please be advised that all changes to scheduled ACH payments must be made at least one business day prior to the scheduled payment date, before 7:00 P.M. CST. As the cutoff time to make changes to payments scheduled Monday, December 19, 2016 was 7:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2016, your December 19, 2016 installment payment was debited as scheduled. On December 20, 2016, you contacted Avant telephonically and inquired as to why the December 19, 2016 payment was debited. During this call, the specialist confirmed that an ACH opt out was applied to your account the day it was received, but did not provide an explanation of cutoff times for ACH payments or explain why your December 19, 2016 payment still processed. We apologize for any confusion that this incomplete explanation may have caused.    On January 17, 2017, your December 19, 2016 installment payment was returned by your financial institution with a return code of R07, which indicates that authorization for the transaction had been revoked by the owner of the account. Accordingly, your loan entered into a late status. On January 20, 2017, you contacted Avant and satisfied this installment payment via credit card. Per your loan agreement, information about your account, including late payments, may be reflected in your credit report. Please note, your account may be reported to the credit bureaus as past due if the full amount of an individual installment is not satisfied with 30 days of its respective due date. To date, your account has not been reported as past due. We trust this explanation resolves this matter. At Avant, we go to great lengths to ensure a transparent and customer-focused experience. feedback seriously. As you are aware, you contacted Avant telephonically on May 5, 2016, in an effort to schedule a credit card payment. You were correctly informed that, per company policy, the maximum amount that can be paid via debit or credit card for each billing cycle by customers who are not past due is the amount of your monthly installment payment, rounded up to the nearest $10.00. Please note that additional payments in excess of this amount can be made anytime via ACH, RCC, paper check or money order. Please be advised there are no prepayment penalties associated with making payments early or in excess of your monthly installment amount, per the terms of your installment loan agreement.  We trust this explanation resolves this matter. I have stated my thoughts as a way of providing constructive input, but apparently Avant is taking the approach that their current business operation is working fine and no adjustments are needed.  They are apparently comfortable in taking a denial of the facts approach then so be it.  I have no further comments to make about this matter. One thing that they have to realize is that for everyone who complains about an issue are many more people, who will not make a complaint, who are just as dissatisfied about that same issue or a similar issue. As Avant has decided to throw the onus on the customer instead of owning up to issues within their system then so be it.  I have nothing further to state.  I have a extremely busy schedule and for me to take time to complain about something is not a trivial matter.   I thought that they would have at least considered their application process instead of employing the hostile approach in which they took.  To the Revdex.com, thank you for your efforts to resolve this matter in a favorable manner to all parties.  However, if one party is so set in their ways there is not a whole lot that can be done.
