Here is an excerpt from the original complaint filed by ***: "I agreed to try a free sample (I had to pay shipping costs) of a two products advertised by a company entitled "Beauty & Truth". I received the free sample, but did nothing to encourage interest in pursuing the product furtherI have since been charged nearly $via debit card withdrawal by the company, but have never received any productI did not want the productI did not ask for the product. I did not receive any product, yet still was charged a huge amount." The trial items were confirmed delivered by USPS on March 12th(9***795***Mar 12:Package delivered by local post office ***, IA)

The membership was canceled as requested; there will be no further billings nor shipments of product unless otherwise directed by *** who is under no obligation to return the trial itemThe only charge, of $for shipping and handling, is non-refundable*** has received confirmation of the
order and membership cancellation via email and B&T considers this matter resolved

Trial offers which carry additional charges must be well disclosed to the customer. Many companies offer different types of trials, that allow you to try their products before committing to purchaseThey may also have automated refill programs as part of the offerA trial offer allows you to
try the product before buying itUsually, you pay for the shipping charge, and have an agreed-upon number of days to try the product in your own homeYou are then charged for the product, if you have not contacted the company before the trial’s expiration date“Trials” and “Risk-Free Trials” do not mean a “free product”, and we do not advertise as suchA “free sample,” is yours to keepSites offering a free sample will not require you to return the sample, but if you have agreed to a membership (automatic refill program) in order to receive the sample, you may be required to return, unopened, any full-size product that was shipped to you alongside your sample. We plainly disclose the terms of the sale and prices at the point-of-sale, before the customer enters their payment details. Furthermore, we take a multi-stage approach toward disclosure to avoid at all costs customers who feel they are unaware of the offer's terms.First, we include the terms at the point of sale, before a payment is made. Here are the terms the customer agreed to when they placed their order:“I am agreeing to be charged $today and $for my trial skincare product on the 15th day if I do not call to cancel my membershipI will receive a full-size bottle of skincare product for $(S&H included) every days thereafter until I cancelMy credit card will be billed and my shipment will be sent automatically at those timesShipments will continue until I call to cancel my membership at 1-866-710-or by emailing [email protected], open hours a day, days a week."Next, after the purchase is confirmed, we notify the customer with a welcome email, which also contains information regarding the on-going component to their membershipEach of these areas clearly discloses our toll-free telephone number which has agents standing by 24/to handle customer requests. When the customer receives their package, there is a packing slip indicating the same contact detailsWithin the package is a brochure which quite obviously state the on-going membership information and our contact detailsIf all else fails, and the customer is billed against their wishes, we offer a no hassle refund policy. It is not our intention to have people continue with a membership they do not wantIn short, we strive for very transparent and highly available customer serviceWhile the odd customer may misunderstood the terms of the trial offer, most complaints can be easily resolved at the customer service level.I hope this helps shed some light on our marketing campaign and the enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to prevent these sorts of complaintsThis customer's product subscription has already been cancelled, and she was never charged anything beyond the initial shipping and handling for her orderHer account is fully cancelled, so there will be no further charges or shipments unless she requests them

On July 27th, 2015, the disputed amount of $was refunded in good faithThe subscriptions are canceledThere will be no future billings or shipments of product unless otherwise directed by ***

However, I do not appreciate the manner in which this business transaction was handled I do not like the fact that I had to argue with the agent to get my money refunded and to cancel a membership I specifically said I did not want I believe this business does not perform the transactions above board and they should be recognized as the scam artists they are.Regards,

Today, B&T has refunded $and sent *** return instructions via emailWe have programmed a $refund to be triggered automatically once the trial item is returned in good condition and before March 11th,

The program was canceled as requested; there will be no further charges applied to the card on file nor shipments of product unless otherwise directed by *** who is under no obligation to return the items shipped to dateToday, two refunds (-$88.49) and (-$98.71) were processed in good faith and
*** was sent product return instructions via emailRefunds can take to banking days to be reflectedAn excerpt from the order confirmation email *** received on January 24th, 2016: "If you made a trial order purchase, you've been automatically enrolled in our time-saving Delivery ProgramAt the end of your 15-day trial period your Visa will be charged the full value of your trial orderEvery days thereafter, you'll be sent a full-size refill order using your Visa on fileWe offer a 30-day guaranteeShould you decide for any reason that you do not wish to keep the product, you may return it for a full refund, less the cost of shipping & handlingReturn shipping is the responsibility of the customer."

This is an internet SCAMThey offer samples for $and then ship FULL sizes and charge $88! You are automatically enrolled in their auto-ship program and are charged $per month unless you cancelThe cancellation process is difficult and time consumingIn order to get a refund you have to
ship back the product (that you never ordered in the first place) within days! I didn't even know I had been charged for it for days as my cc did not reflect that charge until thenSo I am stuck with a product from a shady company that I did not order and do not wantDO NOT FALL FOR THIS!Desired Settlement I want a full refund.Desired Settlement: Billing AdjustmentOn May 4th, 2015, customer *** placed an order for two trial offers, was charged $for 1x Oxygenius and $for 1x Wrinkle Rewind (WR) and sent two order confirmation emails that both included the following passage: "If you made a trial order purchase, you've been automatically enrolled in our time-saving Delivery ProgramAt the end of your 15-day trial period your Visa will be charged the full value of your trial orderEvery days thereafter, you'll be sent a full-size refill order using your Visa on fileWe offer a 30-day guaranteeShould you decide for any reason that you do not wish to keep the product, you may return it for a full refund, less the cost of shipping & handlingReturn shipping is the responsibility of the customer." The full terms and conditions are visible on the websites and are essentially the same for each product trial (the WR trial lasts only days and the charge is $88.49) : "If I enroll in the membership program I am agreeing to be charged $for my trial skincare product on the 18th day, and I will receive a full-size bottle of skincare product for $(S&H included) every days thereafter until I cancelMy credit card will be billed and my shipment will be sent automatically at those timesShipments will continue until I call to cancel my membership at ###-###-####, open hours a day, days a weekI understand that if I cancel my membership but do not return my trial bottle, I will be charged for its full value. By clicking to order I represent that I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy and full Terms and Conditions of this offer and I understand that I will be liable for payment of product that was shipped to me, and future shipments of product, if I fail to notify customer service to stop supplying the product to me. Refund Policy: I understand that if I am not fully satisfied with my products I may cancel my order at any time by calling customer service and returning any unused, unopened Product to our warehouseAll returns must be within days of original purchase (excluding trial product)Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable." The $charge *** referred to above regards an extra item purchased at check-out called Illuminating Scrub, which was later confirmed delivered by USPS bundled alongside the trial Wrinkle Rewind and trial Oxygenius on May 20th, In good faith, on June 19th, 2015, a refund was actioned for the amount of $44.24, and again on June 22nd, 2015, a second refund was actioned for $bringing the total refund to date to $*** has received return instructions via email
