However, they did turn around and charge us an additional $150 that was not agreed upon or approved. I have attached the 2 charges and 1 refund to this email. Once I receive the refund for the charge that was NOT approved and not in the contract I will consider this matter resolved.

weight of materials can be difficult and do acknowledge that the absorption of rain can increase the total weight, but we would like both the customer and the Revdex.com to consider a few aspects. Our dumpsters are constructed to drain liquid that enters and when it is picked-up, it is elevated into a position, which allows any remaining liquid or in this case rain to evacuate. The complaint states that the dumpster was nowhere near full. This charge is based upon the weight, not volume of the materials in the container. For reference purposes, our dumpsters are able to hold 10 tons of materials. Budget Dumpster did not control or influence the amount of materials that was put inside the dumpster or have any impact on the government regulated weighing process. After being alerted to the customer’s displeasure, we secured additional documentation from the landfill in the form of a weight ticket, which further confirmed the overage charge. This Weight Ticket has been attached. We are again, sorry and willing to provide any additional information or documentation. There is no intentions of reversing the valid charge.

At the time of the order, our representative properly communicated our terms and fees associated with a Trip Fee and detailed how to avoid being subjected to this additional fee. when the customer called in to request the removal. Please refer to this excerpt from our Terms and Conditions: In the event that Budget Dumpster attempts to deliver or pick-up Equipment and is unable to do so for any reason beyond Budget Dumpster’s control, including, but not limited to, overloaded Equipment, low lying power lines or tree branches, blocked access to the delivery or pick-up location, damaged Equipment, locked gates, fences or parking lots, inaccessible driveways and/or the storage of prohibited items or substances in the Equipment (collectively referred to as “dry run”), then Budget Dumpster shall be entitled to an dry run inconvenience fee.  The standard dry run inconvenience fee is $150.00; provided that, if Budget Dumpster incurs additional charges, fees, fines, penalties costs and/or expenses related to the dry run, then Budget Dumpster may increase the dry run inconvenience fee in order to recoup any such charges, fees, fines, penalties costs and/or expenses.  Customer acknowledges and agrees that Budget Dumpster is authorized and entitled to charge to Customer’s credit card the amount of any such dry run inconvenience fee.  Per our records, our driver arrived on-site with a vehicle blocking access to the dumpster and contacted the customer via telephone in an effort to help the customer avoid this fee. The customer did not answer, forcing the driver to leave and continue on his route. Please consider this is not a punishment fee, but rather a way to recuperate the costs to reschedule our routes. This is a valid charge that will not be refunded. In the matter regarding the double billing is accepted on the $285.00In regard to notification on the overload communication, I have attached my list of voicemails and under any court oath will  swear I have not deleted any messages. As can be seen I did not have any voice mail from Budget Dumpster, and did not have any conversation with them on the overload issue until I contacted them on 12/4/17. As per my original complaint request that the $180.00 be credited back to my account, since if I had been contacted, I would of taken care of the overfill and arranged for pickup within the original contracted 10 days. It was clearly communicated to the customer, as we do all of our customers, on multiple occasions the necessity to contact us to schedule the pick-up of the dumpster. We realize many customers rely on written communication, which is why on 5/29/15 we successfully sent an invoice, which detailed the need to schedule a pick-up. This invoice has been attached and reads:“Extra Charge: A fee of $10 per day will apply beyond the “Last Day” as noted on your invoice. You are responsible for scheduling the dumpster pick-up. Call 1-866-284-6164 or fill out the “schedule a Pickup’ form located on the left hand side of the website.”   It has become apparent through direct communication that the customer was aware of these terms and is simply choosing not to adhere to them. We do not automatically pick-up the dumpster as a benefit to our customers, not incur additional fees. A majority of our customers utilize the dumpster well past the rental period and from experience many more issues arise though automatic pick-up.On 7/21/15 the customer called in and ordered an additional dumpster, where it was again communicated the need to schedule the pick-up. The customer was also sent another invoice with the same information via email. We do apologize that this fee may have been unexpected, but we provided the customer with every opportunity to avoid this additional charge. The customer has not paid the balance due on the valid charge. If the charge continues to remain unpaid, the balance will be sent to collections.

This feedback is very much appreciated and we will take these comments into consideration in an effort to improve the overall customer experience. However a majority of the customer’s criticisms are simply out of our control. Whether the dumpster was rented from us or another service, the customer would have been subjected to the same highly-regulated weighing process and provided the same documentation that meets the industry standards.  We would like to reinforce that there is no indication of incorrect billing and the documentation does link the weight of the materials to the customer. The driver’s log, also known as service ticket, contains the address of the customer and was paired with the appropriate weight ticket on-site at the time of disposal. In most cases, the weight ticket, which omits service information, is the only documentation needed to verify the weight of materials. Per the call recordings, our representatives never made any assurance that the customer’s materials would not exceed the weight limit. In addition, the customer did not inquire about which dumpster size to rent. The customer has reached out to our representatives directly on multiple occasions and there is no evidence of the quotes mentioned in the recent complaint. Specifically, we have no intentions of taking any legal action against the customer. For this customer or any customer, if credible documentation based upon the weight, not volume of them materials inside the dumpster at the time of removal is able to be provided, we are more than willing to advocate on behalf of the customer with the relevant parties involved. In addition to a reduced balance, we offer payment plans and open to alternative methods to settle the balance due. It is essential that the customer contacts us directly immediately as the unpaid balance is subjected to an automated billing process. We understand the customer had a negative experience. However, we would appreciate that future communication, preferably via telephone is focused on the overage charge. To reiterate our company did not mislead the customer in anyway and had no influence over the amount of materials that were put inside the dumpster or the weighing process. We encourage the customer to contact us directly to work together to reach a mutually agreed upon resolution.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Hello,It is not possible that the dumpster had 2.61 tons of waste, and Budget dumpster ascertains that they weighed the dumpster when it arrived at their site. How do I know it did include waste from other sites? They should have weighed the dumpster at my home before leaving my property to prove it was over the weight limit. Also, no one from Budget Dumpster called me to ask my permission to charge my credit card for this charge of $120.75, as well as the $40.00 for the extended time. When I spoke to Danny at 910-660-0873 extension 2019 on Thursday, July 20th, 2017. He advised me that the phone call was being recorded and that the dumpster fee of 319.00 was for a 10 day rental from July 24th 2017- August 3rd 2017 and the dumpster would automatically be picked up and that I should be sure to have all vehicles out of the driveway because there was no guarantee what time they would deliver and pick up the dumpster. IF I wanted an EARLIER pick up I should call the number above, otherwise the dumpster would be picked up on  August 3rd. Budget Dumpster is now changing their story. I would like to obtain the recorded conversation and proof of what was in the dumpster, otherwise there is no proof that what I put in the dumpster weighed over 2.6 tons.

   I find this response incorrect, we found out after the fact they went and charged our credit card with no notification until the charge was already taken out of my card and an email at the same time, I had no chance to dispute this! this is how they operate!. I also feel the burden of proof lies on them. they should have proof, and when I asked them for this after they had already charged me they should have been able to provide this to me . this explanation is way to vague, how do I know if the driver put trash or someone else did while they were transporting the dumpster. I noticed there are numerous claims on the Revdex.com site, also ripoff.com, and even Budget Dumpster website on Google all referring to how this company continually rips off customers after the pickup. I clearly understand why they have a C rating on the Revdex.com. I have never been one to duck a bill and at this point it is a matter of principle. clearly they shirk responsibility and assume none as they stated not only in my response but others as well. at what point do they accept responsibility? As stated before I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!

This is unacceptable, unfair and unjust. I ordered tow dumpsters from your company. I feel as though this was a set up, as I was advised that its hard to exceed to weight limit of the dumpster and the fact that the driver advised to add more stuff to the dumpster. Before you charge my card you should have advised me. I feel as though there was hidden fee, I'm not paying for you to dump at the land fill. Your company needs to take responsibility of this charge.

The customer rented a dumpster with a 1 ton weight limit. Then the customer exceeded the weight limit by 2.29 tons, which resulted in a fee of $171.75. The weighing of the customer’s materials was conducted at the landfill in a highly regulated process. We do not have any control or influence over...

the landfill. To further document the weight of the materials, we sent the customer a weight ticket. Due to a billing error, the customer was charged $171.75 twice. We are very apologetic to the customer and taken full responsibility by issuing a refund of $171.75. According to our records, there was not a third billing and everything is in order. We attempted to reach the customer via email after receiving the Revdex.com complaint in an effort to expedite the process. If the customer can provide some evidence of the overbilling, we are more than willing to correct the issue. In cases such as this, it may be in the customer’s best interest to contact the bank directly. Due to the lack of response, we can only assume the billing issue has worked itself out. Unless the customer is able to provide additional information, we consider this a closed matter.

Their response stated that they specifically told me they were coming out on Friday, October 2nd and that it falls entirely on me because the dumpster was blocked. That is false and such a lie. I cannot believe they do business like this! They did not said they were coming out Friday. Even Dale, the supervisor who I spoke with, admit it was not scheduled for Friday and said "at the latest" was Monday, October 5th. And the only reason why they were there Friday was because I had request for "as soon as possible" and Friday was the day the picked to be there without my knowledge until the driver was already at the property. The Director of Quality has contacted me in regards to this issue and is investigating the matter. I do not wish to close this complaint until I hear further from him.

removal of the container occurred, the dumpster is sealed and taken directly to the landfill. The materials were weighed multiple times in a government regulated process and a state-certified Weigh Master determined the customer’s materials weigh 10.03 tons or 8.03 tons over the 2 ton weight limit. Despite the details of the complaint, on 9/28/16 the customer was provided via email the weight ticket from the landfill. The weight ticket has been attached and is the official document that verifies weight of the customer’s materials. The landfill was able to verbally verify the weight on 10/27/16. Also attached is a photo of the customer’s container taken due to a Trip Fee for not being able to successfully remove the container. In the photo, the dumpster is filled to capacity and includes concrete. Although volume does not determine weight, it can be inferred that this total amount of materials would be rather heavy. In addition, due to the customer exceeding the limit by over 8 tons, the customer is not able to accurately estimate the total weight. We understand that estimating weight can be difficult and apologize this fee may have been unexpected. However, Budget Dumpster did not have any influence over the weighing process or the amount of materials that the customer decided to put inside the dumpster. We are simply recuperating the additional disposal costs that the customer incurred. The balance due has been paid in full and we consider this a closed matter. Upon request, we can provide any additional information. Thank you.

Budget Dumpster will not be liable to Customer under any circumstances for costs, expenses, losses and/or damages incurred by Customer in any manner relating to such delays.   We do apologize that the dumpster did not arrive at the ideal time. However, many of the statements made in the complaint are inaccurate. Per the call recording of the order, we did not give a specific time of service and in addition, we did not state we require someone to be on-site for delivery. In fact, we do not require any customer to be on-site for any service. It is worth noting that the reviewer did not place the order and this could be the source of some confusion. When the dumpster arrived, our driver reported that he spoke with the customer, Megan and no concerns were communicated. Based upon our Terms of Service and review of the situation, we will not be providing any compensation. We are willing to provide call recordings, or any additional documentation. However, we will need signed, written consent from the actual customer to share this information with the reviewer and the Revdex.com. Thank you.
