I cancelled my contract with carshield and customer service would not give me a refund for a partial month. The customer service agent was rude and kept pushing for me to keep the service contract, he finally cancelled it, but would not give me a refund for the remainder of the month which is 25 days. To resolve this matter I would like a refund for the 25 days.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We have received your request for a partial refund. CarShield does not offer partial refunds but will refund on full payment as a gesture of goodwill. You will receive the refund back to the MASTERCARD *** within 3-5 business days.
We trust this adequately addresses the concerns in your complaint. Please contact us should you need anything further.

Car shield is horrible! They gave me the run around for months... They have horrible customer service. I wasted months...of monthly payments to them...and when it came down to it they denied my claim. Steer clear of this company....save you money and your time because there not worth it! Almost $400 dollars of monthly payments down the drain for what....nothing so you could just turn around and deny my claim...after I was told you would reinstate it...once I took care of what you requested...Thanks for nothing Car Shield!!!!
I purchased the Diamond policy which is the best one offered. I waited the grace period before taking my car in for a non-maintenance repair. I took the car to the dealership which gave me an estimate and a loaner vehicle. After the car was left for repair, Car Shield didn't provide authorization until one year's history of maintenance/repair records were submitted. They said they wanted to see if there was a pre-existing condition even though I waited through the grace period. My dealer rep took his own time to go through the paperwork which was in my car and sent the year's history to a fax number provided. The fax wouldn't go through. I was able to obtain a different fax number. I was contacted by Car Shield through the process, which I was later told that I shouldn't have been contacted. Only the dealership and Car Shield should have been communicating. After 4 days of no approval for the repairs, the dealer informed me I had to return the loaner car and pay for it at a cost of $225. The dealer finally got approval for a portion of the repairs but due to the difficulty they were having in obtaining payment from Car Shield on other claims, they required that I pay for the repairs and file a claim for reimbursement. I had to pay $2,600 and Car Shield only reimbursed me for $900 of the repairs. I then submitted a claim for reimbursement of the $225 for the loaner vehicle since Car Shield pays for car rental. Yesterday I received a call from Car Shield telling me that they were not going to reimburse me for the rental because the labor on repairing the car needed to be 4 hours but was only 3 hours so therefore they weren't going to pay. What does the amount of time the repair takes have to do with the loaner? Wouldn't they be happy that the repairs didn't take longer than 3 hours? This company is a bait and switch. You're led to believe you'll have your car repaired but they have loop holes in their policy that allows them to not pay. The dealer told me they will no longer accept claims from Car Shield and will require the customer to pay first then request reimbursement due to the difficulty they've experienced. I'm better off taking what my monthly fee amount and putting it in savings to pay for any repairs. I DO NOT recommend this company!
Received a mailer from CarShield after recently buying a car. The notice was incredibly misleading; and made me think that I had failed to complete some step related to the extended warranty on my new car. I did a bit of research about CarShield, and quickly realized they aren't a company I want to do business with...and they had nothing to do with my car purchase (even though their notice made it seem like they were somehow involved). When I called to ask about having my name removed from their mailing list, the kid on the other end of the phone just started telling me about their amazing products and options. I had to repeat, multiple times, that I only wanted to be removed from their mailing list. I feel sorry for others who were misled into purchasing coverage from this company. I also feel like I dodged a bullet.
I requested a quote online and received a phone call from a representative. The call started off very informative but quickly became a very pressure sales call, I had hang up on the guy. I was seriously considering going with the company but informwd rep I needed to check my finances. After reading the reviews I'm glad I didn't sign up for their warranty.
We appreciate you reaching out to us and are sorry to lose you as a customer. We would appreciate the chance to earn your business, however. Worth noting, our service contract administrators have paid over 11, 200,260.00 in repair claims, just since May 1, 2020 alone!

I got a contract about four months ago. I couldn't get a service provider to come to take my car because it was old (2004 model Dodge Ram 1500 4 x 4). When I asked the various shops they said that Carshield was hard work with, not reliable. I was looking to get my differential axle repaired. I finally found a shop in Alabama to take the car. They said they were going to communicate with Carshield. Now Carshield told them that they wouldn't cover the repair. The contract says that the differential should be covered. The shop said it would estimate the repair to be $2600.00. I called Carshield, they said that because the vehicle use for commercial use, they wouldn't cover it, but they knew that when they wrote the contract for me. I have landscaping business and the truck has the logo on it and I haul things for my business in the back of the truck. I have paid $150.00 for the oil change, and another $80 for the diagnostic.

I took my vehicle to the shop for repair to my transmission, they sent a claim for this repair. CarShield requested a copy of my oil changes , which I provided them . A few days later they contacted me to say my claim was denied because one my most resent oil change noted an oil leak, my mechanic sent them a revised report, but still they denied it. This company is taking my money every month, and looking for any excuse not to cover my needed repairs. This company promises repairs on their commercials and when you call them to sign up, then they only look for any excuse to decline the claims.

I am not accepting the response from Carshield. They are trying to scam me and I do not want a refund. I am requesting that the company pay the repair bill and not deny the claim. They denied it and then I provided them with the correct paperwork and they didn't even bother to look into it. I called AAS and they referred me to the legal department. Now my car is sitting in a repair shop taken apart. They told me they would send someone out to look at the car and never did.

Despite me telling them I am not interested, as my car is still new & covered by a maintence plan, they just keep calling. Carshield appears to be a scam. Purchased plan April 2020, in hopes I would have the coverage I need. Which is what the commercial claimed would be provided. For a one time, small deductible. But what the commercial doesn’t say is they most if not all repairs aren’t covered. I had to find that out the hard way. I had car troubles and paid for own diagnostic. Checked my contract and repairs weren’t covered. Got the problem fixed out of my own pocket. Started having car troubles again recently and took to Carshield approved mechanic. Just to be told repair is not covered and would cost me $800. Which is frustrating during a pandemic. The advertisement should be changed.
On 9-26-2020 I took my Jeep to Midas in Hobart, Indiana to get worked on and Car Shield said that they will pay for the cost of the work & when it was time for the payment we waited for hours for them to send the payment to Midas and they kept saying it was processing. Midas never got the payment and because of that, they wouldn’t release my Jeep to me. I had to miss work and be without transportation for the weekend. Today they finally got their payment and I got my Jeep back, but because of what happened I will never use Car Shield again. I have been making payments since May and was told I couldn’t get a refund on the payments I made. This was my first time using them.
Ms., thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you with this matter.
We have contacted your service contract administrator to get an update on on this payment for you. They are showing payment was made to *** in the amount of $371.02 on September 28, 2020. We have asked *** to again verify that the payment went through without a problem with Midas.

I called to cancel and ask Keith not to give me a difficult time. He Insisted on doom and gloom scare tactics by telling me I would need repairs. I asked him if he would just cancel over and over and he would not he just kept ignoring me with his sales script. I must’ve said no just cancel no just cancel no just cancel no please just cancel 15-20 times. It must be his policy is to have me repeat myself asking to cancel. I tried to cancel a few months ago but they did the same thing. This is a horrible company and they treat their customers disrespectful when they want to cancel. Beware!!! I would not go with this company ever! Too bad I paid them my hard earned money for over a year. You are harrassed when you want to cancel. They Ignored my request continuously on the phone. My last request to cancel months ago they were going to put in a request to get some money back after denying a small claim I called in on that they said they could not assist on. They will tell you anything to keep you as a customer and then not follow through. My call was to St Petersburg Wisconsin from Arizona and months back from WA State. ??????
Ms., thank you for bring your concerns to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

I purchased a Carshield extended warranty in May 2019. In August 2020 my dealer service technician noticed I had a leaking steering rack. My dealer representative and I separately spent hours (10) trying to reach anyone at Carshield to resolve the problem. I was hung up on, disconnected from phone calls, and didn't receive any returned calls or emails. It was the worst customer service I have ever had in my life! After 2 WEEKS someone finally contacted my dealer representative to move forward with repairs on my vehicle. From what the Carshield employee told my dealer representative was that Carshield employees basically avoid, avoid, avoid because they don't know what to do or couldn't bother helping the customer. Additionally, the bill for the work on my truck was nearly $1,400. Carshield only covered $700, and stated 'we don't cover the nuts and bolts'. Ahhh...cars are made of nuts and bolts!! This was, by far, the worst customer service and extended warranty coverage I have ever had.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We hereby acknowledge your request for cancellation and will process the request immediately. We are sorry to hear you had a less than favorable experience and will refund 6 payments as a gesture of goodwill. Vehicle broke down I have extended warranty with them, dealer repeatedly tried calling for authorization, and never received a call back. I have tried repeatedly, they tell me that I will get a call in 7-10 days. Never receive a call back. We were on vacation, the service center would not release my car until bill was paid. Mom tried to file a claim when we had car trouble. I helped her file the claim online - NO ONE RESPONDED to the claim filing at all!! OH, but if you don't have enough in your account to cover their auto debit because of Covid 19, they call & message you insistently!! So they can only reach out & contact you if they can't collect their payment, but no one will bother if you to file a claim - no follow up, NOTHING!! Don't waste your time or money signing up for this bogus coverage!
Mom just got a death benefit for Dad's passing deposited in to her account & of course CarShield immediately took their payment! We are trying to cancel this coverage! It isn't worth it when their customer service is as bad as this company's is (by our own experience & multiple reviews below), they obviously don't care about anything other than to collect their monthly premium!! SMH TERRIBLE!!!
Thanks for reaching out to us.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY with this scam of a company... I have never made a claim before now and my payments of $129.00 / month are current and never behind... This is the biggest rip off ever. They will stall for weeks and repeatedly ask for car records and statements. The adjuster was rude and talked in circles as if I were a mechanic to only tell me they would fix less than half of the job. It is a shame before GOD to call this business.
I paid for an extended auto warranty, in full, and now that I have issues Carshield procrastinating paying to get it fixed. I sent them maintenance records. My car been sitting at a car shop for over a week. I was told if I drove my car off the lot it would be an automatic denial. No one from carshield would confirm that I would be reimbursed if I got a rental car. So, I been without a car for 9 days now. My car has not even touch at the car shop. It’s just sitting there. I have called several times and could not get a direct answer. Today, one representative decides to tell me the maintenance records was not acceptable.

Carshield is a RIP off, they are charging the price of the this insurance and when it comes time to pay out for repairs they give you the run around, after a month or 2 of your car sitting in the shop they call and say they process your claim because the car hasn't been insured long enough. In the contract it states a 20 day grace period. We have held up our end of the requirements only to be told after a month or 2 of procrastinating and no contact that they cant cover the claim. On August 28th I took my car 1995 Toyota into the car shop cause the Manuel stick wouldn't go into 4th gear. The shop told me that it needs a transmission. I gave the shop the contract number to car shield (***). After two weeks nothing was not getting done to fix my car. The car shop said that car shield wanted to take pictures of my car engine. I called car shield and asked if they can hurry on my claim so I can get my car fix. After 3 weeks car shield finally sent a technician to examine my car. I waited a few day and nothing was getting fix on my car. On Sept 21 I called car shield to see what's the hold up on getting my car fixed. The said that there waiting on a adjuster to finalize the claim. I specifically told the woman on the phone I have a payment on the 22nd. And if they are not going to fix my car then I don't want to keep the policy. Assured me that everything will be resolved soon. They took out 79.00 on Sept 22 for payment. I called back on Sept 24 to see the status on the claim. The told me that the claim was denied cause of preexisting conditions. I told them to cancel my policy immediately. I also have a policy on my 2002 Lincoln continental that I had them cancel. I ask for my money back on the payment that was just made but they refuse to give me back my money

I have called car shield multiple times in regards to a part that was not covered under my coverage which should have been. Car Shield reps say I should be covered but the underwriting company American car shield says I am not and that I have to purchase an additional coverage specifically for emissions but car shield is saying I am covered. I was hung up on by the first rep, blindly transferred by the second and had no idea who I was being transferred to or what I was supposed to go over. I was told initially by a sales representative when I called to get info on the policy that I had an 60 day period in which, if I had not had any paid claims that my policy would be fully refundable. I was super unhappy with my service and I called today which is under that period and I am being told it is 30 days, I specifically asked about this because I was unsure about the company and it seemed ok but I had my doubts, I recorded my first call with the sales representative as I normally do when entering any new contract and he clearly states this. I have had extended warranties on multiple vehicles and have never had this much hassle for any issue.
