Purchase contract about a year ago and bought the platinum pkg. Initially it was 79.00 mon now it 100 a month. I was denied first claim dealing my rack n pinion with a cost of 3,000.00 due to they said my fault. I took care of myself now all of a sudden my engine goes out. I supplied all maintenance records.along with my service tech at dave gill chevy
The same adjuster came out twice and state it was internal malfunction
I could not get the tow service as advertise and went through chevy on august 7, 2020 my car is still there and I dont have a rental
They have American auto shield as the administrator of this warranty
I had to approve another 6hrs of Labor for a tear down for a cause and effect and the same adjuster agreed internal malfunction. Communication is horrible. There was a break in communication in July sometime and put them behind. But srill it is difficult to talk with anyone. When you call car shield they direct you to America auto shield. Emails and text and website is the requested communication anf still it is very difficult to talk. There was a verbal postive go ahead on 8/24/2020 and requested final estimated cost. They dtste authorization number would be given upon receipt. It was there by noon est time. There has been response at all. Still mo rental and no work order.Ty

Was forced to sign a new contract and could not transfer a contract that was used by my deceased father that passed away due to Covid. They would keep calling at least twice per week asking why the payments were stopped (the cards under his name were cancelled) So I decided to use their service.

Guidelines given while I agreed to the contract were not accurate and would later be used against me. Had to wait more than 3 weeks for a claim to be answered and it was only due to me forcing a 3-way call with the repair shop and CarShield. Claim was denied because I did not go over the 500 miles, on top of that they accused me of calling before the 20 day period when I was inquiring on how to do a claim, the steps to do because I had never done anything similar. They used this against me and basically counted it as if I had filed a claim when I was not in touch with the claim department and it was only customer service. The claims department is on a different number that the customer service number.

They find any minute way to decline your needs. Basically they only want their customers for the money and not to attend to their needs.

Revdex.com:

I am only able to provide the death certificate. The courts have been closed, so my mother has not been able to get the letter of power to be able to transfer titles upon my father's death. I have included my ID from the NYPD, if it is of any help. Thank you for your help.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

They are misleading and not clear about what they cover. I told my 2010 Tahoe in to Local dealer and they aren't very happy about dealing with car shield company. I have transmission issue and car shield didn't wont to put new transmission in and to buy used one in. So cancelled my contract and could get a refund back. I don't recommend there service

My vehicle broke down 200 miles from where I live. A claim has been filed by my auto shop & myself with Car Shield in early July 2020, via phone ***, email [email protected], and on their website there is a "file a claim"/"upload documents. Claim was filed there as well. So, filed it 3 different ways. The auto shop has called and left messages, no one has returned his calls. When I call American auto shield, they lie & say they left messages for auto shop, when they have not!! The auto shop wants the repair approved & paid. Trust me!! End result is, all this time, they say their system has been down, but it know not for months, they are still taking my monthly payment, which has been being make for a year with no claims. I expect them to contact the auto shop, not avoid it to not fix my truck. There is always a minimum hold time on the phone with them for 90 mins, customer service is no help, just excuses, and when I ask for a manager I get hung up on. There is no phone number for issues, no specific claims adjuster, just the run around. This is a large business that is on television constantly advertising how great they are. This company should be shut down!!! I can't cancel the services because they will likely not cover my truck if and when they finally get in touch. THIS IS A SCAM, FRAUD!!!! I need help, and will begin going up the chain until I get resolution. I should expect to them to contact the auto shop, that is the least they could do.

CarShield Response • Aug 31, 2020

We apologize for the delays in facilitating your claim.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most American Auto Shield ("AAS") employees are working remotely; as a result, some callers are experiencing connection issues and extended hold times. Likewise, during the week of July 20, 2020, we experienced interruptions to our claims and telephone systems. Our systems are now fully operational and we are working to reach out to all claimants who were affected during that week. We realize these issues are not acceptable and certainly do not reflect our commitment to provide the highest levels of service. We apologize for the customer’s inconvenience and look forward to providing excellent service in the future. We have escalated this with leadership in the Claims Department and you should receive a call back by the end of the following business day.

I have been in contract with carsheild paying a monthly withdraw from my account since March 2020, I choice the up graded package Powertrain Gold. I have owned my car 2016, always had regular maintenance through are local.Ford dealership, we have an outstanding relationship, I took my car in last week cause I heard a nice coming from my tire area or axle. My dealer looked at the car I also mentioned I have carsheild, they said I needed work.on transfer case, and me and dealer.proceeded to try to contact Carsheild getting a pre-approval, even with call back info added it took 3 of my working days to hear back about the work needing to be performed, I finally was told.to have dealership email, diagnostics, and a quote for work needing to be performed, I gave it to the dealer and they sent it over at the last half of the next day, 4 days with out my car and trying to get back and forth to work, I got a call from dealer saying they have denied my claim, dealer also said it was the worst experience he has ever dealt with for a warranty coverage from a company, I had left my contact with him so he said what I am paying for covered my repairs in the contract outlined, he suggest I get ride of them and that I had paid for something that the contract states is covered, bit they are denying the claim. It has been a very difficult time trying to deal with this for 4 days while I am at work and trying to find transportation back and forth, this contract I have been paying for every month since march, has cost me time and money, the dealer has had my car for 4 days trying to get response from Carsheild, I have paid for rides back in forth, my dealer suggest I fight to get all of my money back from March 2020 seeing that this issue is in my contract and they will not honor the repairs needed. I need answers, I need help with this issue, I feel I have been robbed.

CarShield Response • Aug 31, 2020

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We have contacted your service contract administrator to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. The claims department never opened a claim on your behalf. Their notes indicate they received an estimate from your repair shop for a wheel assembly on August 26th, 2020. Unfortunately a wheel hub assembly is not a part listed for coverage under your vehicle service contract terms. A claims specialist emailed your repair facility that same day to let them know the pre-claim would not be authorized.

CarShield is willing to refund your payments in full as a gesture of goodwill and in good faith to resolve this matter. You will receive one payment back to the original form of payment and the rest will be sent via check within 7-10 business days. This will cancel your CarShield contract.

Revdex.com: I had no choice in the matter then to except their resolution, when the Revdex.com contacted the company they finally contact me, they offered my payments back to me and cancelled my contract immediately. The problem with this is in good faith I paid a company my hard earned money to provide a service, that they had no intention on fulfilling their end of the contract they took 6 months of payment, when I initially took my car in for service me and the dealer spent time calling and sending paperwork that they would not respond to for 4 days my vehicle sat at the Ford dealership, costing me hardship on finding alternatives to get back and forth to work, then when they finally did get back to dealer on 4 th day they denied the claim, I had to pick up my vehicle and pay them $100.00 for looking at my car and diagnosing. Carsheield never offered me reimbursement for the $100.00 the dealership, or anything for my time. I sent this company my money in good faith to provide a service that was never rendered, I am sill out of pocket at least the $100.00 I paid the dealer for diagnostics.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I have had them since March 10th. I have been paying my payments to them. The right side ball joint and wheel bearing broke. I called them and they had me on hold for a long time. They gave me a number to a person working on it. I called back and the number was changed to Life Alert. I and my mechanic call and they keep you on hold and they hang up after you have waited for an hour or more. When I did get in contact with someone, they said I would not receive my money for 6 - 8 weeks. This is unacceptable.

I have Vehicle Protection Plan with CarShield effective 09/25/2019 with Contract # ***. On 08/03/2020 my 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LT 4WD the covered vehicle broke down on the road named *** in Columbus Georgia about 1.0 mile from my resident while I was on my way to home from work between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm. CarShield sent Cole and recovery towing which toewed my vehicle to *** dealership on Manchester Expressway in Columbus the repair shop that normally performs servicing of my vehicle. CarShield did not inspect the vehicle until 08/03/2020 after which they deny the repair claim # 1036611 stating that it was water damage. I spoke to CarShield at phone numbers *** and *** and spoke to both a man and a woman. The woman cancelled my membership at my request because the vehicle is at repair shop and they refuse to fix it so no need to continue protection to a disabled vehicle. The woman also sent email to the CarShield officer responsible for disbursing my delay cost that occurred from 08-03-2020 to 08-21-2020 in the amount of $1151.97 paid to *** dealership for rental vehicle was was covered by my contract. As of today CarShield has not paid me any amount and they are not returning my calls. CarShield never informed me of their decision to deny my repair claim. I look at my account this morning showed that CarShield made an unauthorized charge to my account leaving my account in the negative plus overdraft charge for a total of $ 156,97
PLEASE cause CarShield to pay these money they owe me. CarShield is a very bad business that treats their customers very badly and does not honor their contract. I currently believe that CarShield stole all the money they collected from me since 09-25-2019 because my first contact to them for service was a terrible experience. A lot of run arround and not returning phone calls, and hanging up the telephone. I used to have Vehicle protection plan with another company but CarShield TV advert deceived me into switching to them. Their advert is so good but they do not do what they advertise they will do. I need help to get redress from CarShield because I can not help myself in this matter.

CarShield Response • Aug 27, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We have contacted your service contract administrator to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. You vehicle was towed to your chosen repair facility with a locked up motor. The repair facility removed the top of the motor and discovered water in the cylinder and intake. It was determined your engine was hydro-locked due to the engine sucking in water. As noted in Section D, Exclusions, Paragraph 2 (C) water damage is not listed for coverage under your contract terms. Also noted in your contract, car rental reimbursement, (See Section C, Paragraph 2,) any rental reimbursement will only be covered upon authorization of your claim. Your claim was denied therefore your request for rental reimbursement will also be denied. We have attached a copy of your contract for your convenience.

Your request to cancel your account has been processed. CarShield is happy to refund your last payment due to the contract being cancelled prior to the payment date. You will the receive your refund via check within 7-10 business days.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: My first breach of contract of Contract claim is DELAY COST in the amount of $1151.97. The disabled vehicle was towed to the repair shop on August 3, 2020 but CarShield failed to inspect the vehicle until August 19, 2020.

My second breach of contract claim is that the vehicle left front master power window switch needed repair or replacement. This part of the vehicle has nothing to do with water in the engine. It is a covered part in my contract with CarShield. The cost for repairing this power window switch is $ 350,05.

3, Because the vehicle has a failure that is covered by the contract; CarShield must honor the contract by paying for this power window switch and rental vehicle cost during the repair and the cost for diagonis of the power window failure.

We have contacted your service contact administrator, American Auto Shield again regarding your repair claim. American Auto Shield has sole authority over the adjudication and payments of any repair claims that are submitted under your service contract terms. American Auto Shield stated the following:On 8/8/2020 we received an email from your repair facility stating that they wanted to initiate a claim for your engine and the master window switch for the vehicle. The repair shop noted the issue with the engine was that it was locked up and was full of water. The repair shop noted at this time that the engine was torn down for an inspection. A claim was initiated on 8/9/2020. An adjuster followed up on the claim on 8/12/2020. At this time there was a determination that the window switch was not listed for coverage on your contract under section B for parts listed for coverage. The engine issue was then sent over to a powertrain adjuster for review. A power train adjuster followed up with your repair facility on 8/19/2020 and noted the repair shop wanted to look into the failure a little deeper. The repair shop called back on 8/20/2020 with the determination that the engine has fresh water that was drawn in through the air intake box and subsequently into the engine causing the failure. During this call the repair facility mentioned they found pine straw and other debris in the front bumper indicating possibly the vehicle was driven off the road or into a ditch. This type of failure is not covered by the contract. This is listed on section D.2.C of the contract. The VSC is for mechanical breakdown only and any damage resulting from collision or accident needs to be sent to the customers insurance company. At this time the claim was denied. Rental reimbursement is only offered from the contract for authorized repairs. Since the claim was denied and not authorized there is no rental coverage on this claim.

We will be sending a denial letter to *** with the same information within. We need to verify if the customer had a tow bill, as a gesture of goodwill we can cover that up to the contract’s maximum liability.

D. EXCLUSIONS
The following items are NOT covered by this CONTRACT:

2.MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN OR FAILURE:

c. CAUSED BY ACTS OF NATURE, OR BY ANY EXTERNAL CAUSE SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: COLLISION, FIRE OR SMOKE, THEFT, FREEZING, VANDALISM, RIOT OR EXPLOSION, TERRORISM, LIGHTNING, EARTHQUAKE, WINDSTORM, HAIL, VOLCANIC ERUPTION, WATER OR FLOOD, BREAKAGE OF GLASS, FALLING OBJECTS, OR NUCLEAR CONTAMINATION;"

If *** would like to fax or email his towing invoice to 636-720-9814 or [email protected] we will be happy to get it over to American Auto Shield for payment of up to the maximum liability in the contract terms.

If you have any further dispute regarding American Auto Shield's repair claim adjudication, please see Section M (ARBITRATION) of your contract terms. Any dispute regarding a repair claim between yourself and American Auto Shield will be settled by the Denver Revdex.com's arbitration rules.

We respectfully request that this complaint be closed as resolved, as we have done everything we can do to help in the resolution of this matter. *** service contract has been cancelled as he requested on August 24, 2020 and he is in the process of being refunded in full.

I am rejecting this response because: Non of the exclusion clause described by Carshield pertains to my Left side master window power switch which needs repair or replacement and was covered by my contract with CarShield. CarShield is deceitfully refusing to honor the contract they had with me. Water in the engine has nothing to do with the covered part which they are refusing to honor. My vehicle has never been driven into any ditch and there was no water anywhere inside the vehicle. Water was found inside the engine not inside the vehicle. CarShield never discuss their inspection of my vehicle with me even though they promised to call me after their inspection NO call came from CarShield. I became aware of CarShield refusal to honor their contract with me on August 20, 2020 around 6:00 pm from repair shop that called me requesting their rental vehicle back from me. CarShield owe me delay cost and they owe me for breach of contract by refusing to repair or replace an electrical part covered by contract I had with CarShield.

CarShield TV advert deceived me into cancelling a vehcle protection plan I had with another provider and switching to CarShield only to discover that CarShield is a dishonest business entity by refusing to honor their contract and a very very poor customer relationship. CarShield does not keep its words both orally and in writing. CarShield is purely engaging in deceit and deception. CarShield owe me a minimum of $ 1800.00 for covered electrical parts that needed repair or replacement plus rental expenses incurred during their delay in inspecting the vehicle to authorize or deny claim

I prefer to have Revdex.com be the arbitration. CarShield is a deceitful business enterprise and deals with me with cruelty. They do not do what they agree to do both orally and in writing. I am greatly disgusted with CarShield and deeply regret entering into customer and provider relationship with CarShield.

I am pleading to CarShield to tell the truth. Water in engine did not damage Power window switch. CarShield sent a tow truck and the driver of the tow truck took pictures of my vehicle at location it was disabled. There was no ditch, stream, river or pond in the pictures they took. Water was never found inside of the vehicle. There was no mud on the tires and wheels to procrastinate the vehicle drove into the ditch. CarShield is purely engaging in deceit and deception. CARSHIELD HONOR THE CONTRACT!!!

Sincerely

We first got my policy in may 29,2020. I had the gold package where I can get everything on my truck fix. So I been paying every month faithfully with no interruptions. So my motor and transmission went out in my truck and I took it to the shop and the shop diagnose the truck and said the motor and transmission went out and it was not on my end. So when the car shop told them the mileage on the truck was incorrect from what we told them they said they not getting my truck fix’s because of they but I been paying every month so I ask can I get my money back and they said no and that’s not right.. they been taking my money every month but want get my truck fix. Just because of the mileage was wrong but the man told me who sold the car it was a 127,000 miles on it.. but the car place told them we was over 116,000 miles that I didn’t know when I got the truck.. I feel that I should got my money back I’m stuck with a truck that I can’t afford out my pocket to get fix. And need all the money I can I am on disability and it’s not right! I will be filling more complaints and getting some thing done so I can get my money back!! They are a fraud!! Don’t use them as your auto service. They don’t do nun but take your money and try to find a small reason not to fix your car. They are a scam!!!!!

We have contacted the claims department to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. The notes on your account from yesterday (August 26th) indicate the claims department asked your repair facility for further diagnosis on the cause of failure of your vehicle. Your repair facility informed our claims specialist that they doesn't do timing repairs, they just replace engines and that you will have to take your vehicle to a new repair facility. The claims department also needs your service records on your vehicle. Please have your new facility contact the claims department and referenced claim #*** to get your claim moving. You may also send the requested service records to that email address.

We look forward to working with you on your repair claim.

the Revdex.com- St. Louis is biased against CarShield and that the Revdex.com-St. Louis has

I signed up with this company back in May of this year, I actually have 2 vehicles with them. My first issue is with my BMW – A belt broke and got in the engine, Car Shield said claim denied because it was a pre-existing condition. But I thought it should have still been covered, since the issue happened after I purchased the car; which would make it a new issue.
I went on and paid the $4000 repair bill and I didn’t know what to do. But now I have a broken Axle on my Buick, which is definitely covered…. And when the Appraiser went out, they also said it should be covered. However, another Adjuster said that my claim was denied because the arm broke (?), which caused the Axle to break.
The Arm is still in or hooked to the knuckle. And how can you tell which broke first, based on pictures.
But when talking to the 2nd Adjuster, he said the car was in a car accident…. After going back and forward with him, he then told me about the Arm issue and that’s the reason why they’re not going to pay.
This just doesn’t seem right… what do you pay for? Because I’ve been denied 2 times and pay every month, for false and or misleading advertisement.

CarShield Response • Aug 27, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Your first claim for the BMW contract # *** was for a broken drive belt that somehow made it through the crank seal and got chunks of belt into the timing chains damaging them. The drive belt is not covered by the contract so this is a non-covered part damaging a covered part which is excluded from the contract. This is based off of repair facility's statement while starting claim. The call with the repair faiclity was reviewed and they stated this cause of failure was for timing. There is also notes about coolant expansion tank and oil filter adapter housing which are not covered under the contract.

Your second claim for the Buick contract # *** Your statement is that the axle broke and then that broke the lower control arm and caused a significant amount of cosmetic damage to vehicle. We sent inspector to verify this. The axle pulled out of inner joint and is no longer attached. There no damage to inner CV axle cup and it is still installed in vehicle. The CV tripod joint just pulled out. This is not a fault of axle wearing out. This can only be done by overextending the axle which would be a result of the control arm breaking first. Boots for cv are intact and so are clamps. Where the axle hit the control arm it would have been right on the small clamp for the boot. This clamp is intact. If the axle hit the control arm hard enough to break it there would be significant damage to the clamp. With pictures from inspection report the clamp is still attached to boot and there is no visible damage to it. This is a powertrain only contract. Even if this repair was authorized the contract would only have coverage for the axle itself and none of the other parts needed for repairs.

Carshield will refund your payments on both contracts as a good will gesture in this matter. You will receive both initial payment back to the original form of payment and the remainder will be sent via check within 7-10 business days. This will cancel your contracts.

We are sorry to lose you as a Carshield customer and wish you well.

I have been trying to settle a claim for about two years, I have an extended warranty on my vehicle since 2015. The company has sent two adjuster to the service shop, the first found no problems with the claim, the second found several faults with the vehicle. My vehicle has bee at the repair shop for 2 years waiting for this company to okay the repair of my vehicle. It seems they do want to pay for the repairs. I have paid about $7000 for this warranty. I just wish to have my vehicle repaired.

He has also reached out to the contract holder and has requested additional records. The contract requires that the vehicle is maintained according to manufacturer recommendations. This claim started on 12/20/2019 and has seen excessive delays as the dealership the vehicle is located at also changed ownership during this period causing significant delays.

I filed a claim on July 17, 2020 and had my vehicle towed to the shop as I was instructed to do. I received a call from CarShield today August 26, 2020 after several attempts about the status of my vehicle to be told that they denied my claim due to over heating but that is covered under the contract. I never received my reimbursement for the towing which they said was in the mail. I have been given the runaround with this claim and treated very unfairly. They take 129.99 per month from my credit card and has failed to make good on their promises. I never received a full contract from them just what would be covered. The demeanor of the staff is very unprofessional and they hung up on me when ever I questioned the reason my claim was denied. I would like to have all my payments plus towing and my car fixed as they promised. This has caused me unjust hardship and would like the matter resolved.

CarShield Response • Aug 26, 2020

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We have contacted your service contract administrator to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Your vehicle was brought to the repair facility of your choice for an engine failure on August 10, 2020. After reviewing the records and basic diagnostic information an adjuster with the claims department was unable to authorize your repair due to overheating. As noted in Section in Section D, Exclusions, Paragraph 2 (P) there is no coverage provided under your contract terms for overheating. Your vehicle also had rusted rotors and cobwebs indicating the vehicle sat for an extended amount of time before being towed to your repair facility. We have attached a copy of your contract for verification purposes.

If you are unhappy with your contract, CaRshield is willing to refund half your payments as a goodwill gesture to resolve this matter. Please let us know if this is acceptable to you and we will process the request upon receipt. Any refund will cancel your CarShield contract.

We look forward to hearing from you and working towards a resolution on this matter.

1.Engines 2.Transmission 3. Transfer Unit (4x4)

4.Drive Axle 5. Water Pump 6. Turbo Charger (if applicable)

On August 26, 2020 the dispute resolution department wrote: Your vehicle was dropped off to the repair facility at *** on August 10, 2020, which is not true. My vehicle was towed in on July 17, 2020 to the above shop and Car Shield was informed on that same day by myself and a representative of *** The adjuster for Car Shield did not report to that location to inspect the vehicle until August 25, 2020 over thirty-seven days (37) sitting, waiting for the adjuster to inspect it.Car Shield wrote to Revdex.com that my vehicle overheated and that the vehicle also had rusted rotors and cobwebs, indicating that the vehicle sat for an extended period of time before towed to the repair facility. After researching and speaking to a few adjusters and myself research and the adjusters both indicates that one can expect bare metal to start forming surface rust in less than a week. The more time the vehicle sit the more rust will form. The surface rust will occur on all rotors and drums from just sitting in a parking lot on a rainy day.As to the overheating – if the water pump fail on the vehicle it is impossible for the vehicle not to overheat while driving, which causes it to inflict danger to a blown head gasket or warped or cracked head, because that is the main component of the cooling system which is covered under the existing contract. If you don’t cover overheating why would the water pump be covered under the contract,Further, I have emailed the towing invoice to Car Shield several times and spoke to several representatives to be told that the check was in the mail. It has been over three weeks and I have yet to receive a check from them.

I got CarShield on 06-16-2020 and met all my requirements by 07-06-2020 and had a issue with my engine seeming to want to cut off on me while driving on 07-07-2020. I took my vehicle the shop on 07-07-2020 and and was forced to get a rental due to my vehicle not working properly.

CarShield authorized my shop to do a tear down to do a diagnosis as well as requested me to snd in service records and did such.

I have not been able to get y car back nor has my shop been able to reach anyone in the claims depart to repair my vehicle as of 08-25-2020. CarShield claims handler American Auto shield has denied my claim "not covered and issue due to pre-existaning issue" which my shop and records have deemed to be completely and utterly false.

On 06-29-2020 I took my vehicle in to get an oil change and the shop said it was making noise and riding rough due to needing its oil change. The shop also alerted me that the check engine light came on while performing my oil change.

I had the run a full check on 06-30-2020 to see what the issue was as it was the close of business on 06-29-2020 when they completed my oil change. The codes that came up with the check engine light was in error and were rectified 100% when I eft the shop and the shop has verified it on multiple occasions to CarShield whom only seems to reroute to American Auto Shield and they never pick up the phone nor call the *** back.

CarShield refuses to pay my claim by coming up with every single excuse under the sun they have also failed and denied my rental reimbursement which has totaled $1,100 due to their issues in communication as well as being truthful. They have also left me a $792.00 tear down bill for the tear down of my vehicle motor in which their agents authorized. While also refusing to repair my vehicle although its a covered part under the contract and it was not pre-existing.

They are also expecting me to continue the monthly payments of $99 a month although I have had zero resolution to my issues only more and more hoops to jump through and excuses. Also the hold time for American Auto Shield has ranged from 4-8 hours I have documented me being on hold 15 times for 7-8 hours in que only to never have anyone pick up or when they pick up the hang up immediately.

My vehicle is sitting in the shop with the motor torn down at CarShield request

CarShield Response • Aug 26, 2020

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We have contacted your service contract administrator, American Auto Shield to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per their notes your contract was purchased on 6/16/20. On 7/7/20, 21 days later, a claim was initiated for a check engine light and engine issues. The claims department requested the needed service records which are detailed below:-On 6/29/20, an oil change was performed at Auto Max Automotive, the invoice advised the customer of needed services: Engine runs rough, Check Engine Light on, Engine Knocking.-On 6/30/20, the vehicle was returned to the same repair facility with a check engine light. The invoice from the repair facility stated needed services: replace timing chain and camshaft, engine needs tear down for proper diagnosis. Therefore the diagnosis, issues and repair request presented on 7/7/20 were the same as those documented on 6/30/20. This failure occurred in the 20 day waiting period for the contract and are not covered by the contract terms.

As noted in your contract, rental reimbursement will only be authorized on an authorized claim. Also your repair facility has to receive authorization from you to perform the tear down as our claims specialists are not allowed to authorize any tear down due to the chance of it not being covered if the claim isn't approved. CarShield is willing to refund your payments as a gesture of goodwill and in a good faith effort to resolve this matter. Please let us know if this is acceptable to you and we will process your request upon receipt.

If you have any further questions or disputes regarding your repair claim, please contact American Auto Shield directly or see Section M, Dispute Resolution, of your contract.

I BEGAN THE CLAIM PROCESS AND THE SHOP WAS AUTHORIZED EVERYTHING HAD TO GO THROUGH AMERICAN AUTO SHIELDOR CARSHIELD FOR APPROVAL ON A TEAR DOWN.UPON APPROVAL FROM TWO CARSHIELD AGENTS MY VEHICLE WAS TORN DOWN AND GIVEN AN UNRELATED DIAGNOSIS TO ANY OF THE CODES SENT ON THE SERVICE RECORD FROM 06-29-2020 OR 06-30-2020. IT TOOK FROM 07-10-2020 UNTIL 08-13-2020 FOR YOU ALL TO RECEIVE THE INFORMATION FORM THE TEAR DOWN DUE TO YOUR FAILED COMMUNICATION METHODS WITH THE REPAIR FACILITY. I HAD TO PERSONALLY GET DOCUMENTS AND SEND TO YOU ALL BECAUSE YOU ALL REFUSED TO ANSWER THE SHOPS CALLS OR RETURN THEIR VOICES MAILS.NOW YOU ALL ARE TRYING TO DENY THE CLAIM UNDER BOGUS ALLEGATIONS OTHER FUTURE AND CURRENT CUSTOMERS NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH BEHIND THE CARSHIELD AMERICAN AUTOSHIELD SCAM. I DEMAND MORE THAN A REFUND AS MY VEHICLE SITS IN A SHOP TORN DOWN AND UNREPAIRED ITS UNACCEPTALBLE AND A REFUND IS ONLY A FRACTION TO REPAIR AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THE RENTALS.
Sincerely,

Robert Simmons
