Christian Brothers is expensive! Last January I paid dearly for a leaky outdoor hose bib and the installation of a bathtub faucet. It might be acceptable if the hose bib did not have to be repaired five months later for the same reason. The bathroom faucet (I paid $350 for it at Lowe's) installed by Christian Brothers was scratched on both top and bottom.

This week another representative from the company came out to check the damage and he, too, questioned how it could have happened. Meanwhile, he suggested another $8,000 of work to be done. Absolutely no, thank you; your company is too expensive for the quality of work that's done. I'm not independently wealthy.

Prompt same day service. Technician was professional, knowledgeable, explained why our power went out, what he was doing to fix it and why our attempt at emergency repair failed. No high pressure sales tactics. We were billed by the job, not by the time it took to make the repairs.

The service man arrived later than he said, scared us with worst-case scenario prospects. Then he proceeded to fix the problem. After doing one bathroom and inspecting the second, he left "to get a part". Nearly 3 hours later he returned and finished.

He had given an estimate or over$1000 but settled on $904. He wouldn't reduce it an further. We felt taken advantage of and expressed that to their business office. On a e-mail, Joy stated it was $604. Why the difference and why haven't we heard back?

Every time we use christian brothers it has been a great experience.Today we had [redacted] come out because of a bad thermostat he took his time and explained what was wrong and the options we had.Every technician we have had to our home have been polite ,clean,and very knowledgable in there field of expertise. I would recommend Christian brothers to anyone looking for a company that knows how to treat there customers the right way.

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled after dealing with plumber Glenn G[redacted] after a recent water line leak. A few weeks ago we sprung a leak in the front yard of the water line that comes into our house - tree roots were the problem. Glenn gave me a quote and told me how long the repair would take. I think he said it would be 3-4 hours and although the original quote was a little higher than I expected, I decided to go ahead and authorize the work. Glenn ran into several problems that cause him to have to work into the night. He worked right through dinner, so I offered to run out and buy him a burger. He left once to run and get a part he needed but other than that, he was there for 8-9 hours! He didn't leave until 9pm, working by a portable work light that he had brought. He didn't charge me any extra and was pleasant throughout! I know he had a family to go home to and he could have said that he'd have to come back out tomorrow, but he didn't. He stayed and finished the job. Thankful that my family got Glenn that night. It's good to see someone that still takes pride in finishing the job and doing it right! Thanks Glenn!

Jon T[redacted] is a Sales Rep for Christian Brothers Heating/Air Conditioning. He was notified by Mike E[redacted], our Service Rep, that we needed a new unit. Jon responded with-in minutes and was very professional, polite and knowledgable explaining the various types of systems available. The very next morning a Christian Brothers crew was at our home installing a new unit. Thank you for your help Jon, we really appreciate your professionalism.

The electrician Charles D. wans nice to me and my dog. He fixed my light switch quickly and for less than I expected. He was very clean and professional. He even replaced my plastic cover.

Jon T[redacted] explained the procedures for the repairs and was very knowledgable and professional. He was courteous as I asked him questions about the motor voltage regulator and duct cleaning. He had to repeat himself as this was all new to me.

Abe was professional, and diligent. Gave good advice and provided information about the exact issues, what it meant to the overall health of the system, and the issue that would be solved.

My experience with Christian Brothers plumbing was absolutely horrible. I had a very small job that needed to be done, and after a 5 minute walk through the technician quoted me $6192. I realize that you may think "maybe he needed that much work done"....and you would be right to think that....HOWEVER....I followed up with local plumbers and was amazed to find that the work I was being quoted was 5 TIMES the going rate in my area.

Luckily I had done my research and sent the technician away, only paying the service fee of $29....however, I would imagine that this business preys on people who don't know what to do in a time of panic (when plumbing is going wrong in your house), and they take advantage of those who are in need.

Their parts are marked up well beyond market value. I found identical parts online for approximately 1/12th the price. Their labor rates seem to be equal to the rates of having a board certified surgeon work on my house.....and their overall pricing is absolute robbery. EXAMPLE: they wanted to charge me $700 for a brand new toilet......the same toilet at any appliance store or online ran approximately $150.

While I am all for businesses setting their own prices....these guys are taking advantage. Please intervene. Please don't let this business rob people.

I was very satisfied with the technician and the work he did.

In September, I had Christian Bros. replace a main sewer line in my business' parking lot for $21,000.00. As part of the repair, Christian Bros. was to properly compact the soil after the repair to support new asphalt. They use a contractor that the customer pays direct. After weeks of not receiving the contractor's quote, I called Ace Asphalt (in business for 55 years) to do the repair for $1,395.00. When I asked Christian Brothers to e-mail that the compaction was done correctly, they would only warranty it if their contractor did the repair. I finally received his quote for $3,000.00, a difference of $1,605.00. The soil is either compacted correctly or not. I should have quoted another contractor for the repair. I feel their business practices are not ethical and will never use them again.

Mike came out to service my A/C unit today and I must say that I can't remember the last time I received such exceptional customer service. He was extremely thorough in checking out both my units including the part in the attic and even took pictures to be able to show me different things that needed attention and explained everything in detail. My unit is 15 years old and very noisy. I know it is just a matter of time before it quits on me, but Christian Brothers has kept it running strong this long. Mike was not pushy at all, but I appreciated his advice and will be replacing my unit with Christian Brothers!
