Columbus Real Estate Pros Reviews (329)

I am an owner of a property in Parma, OH that Real Estate Pros are managing for meI have been a customer since Actually my tenant has posted a recent complaint on Revdex.com for similar issues I have been having significant issues with communication or getting ahold of anyone regarding my account and the home
Last month my owner draw was only $Supposedly there were repairs that needed done on the home that was a total $In addition there was the "preventative maintenance " fee being $I believeI am used to getting $for an owner drawWhere did the remaining $go? I have had no explanation for the discrepancyI have been in contact with Karen Fbut she has failed to respond to any emails over the past several weeks despite saying she is "looking into my account"
In addition I have noticed my owner draw this month was only $Again, I have had no explanation where the remaining $isI have contacted the tenant and she stated no repairs ha

Completely incompetent, cannot trust a word they say, horrible property managersAfter speaking with Brett S***, the National Director of Growth, I was assured they were the right fit to manage my portfolio of propertiesOn the phone I gave them each properties address, told them the status, and was assured they were the people for the job to get a few properties on track and continue steady sailing with the ones that were performing as expected
weeks after they assured me they were the company and the best fit for me, after taking my money, having me sign multiple contracts, they dropped me like a hot rockThey stated they would be unable to manage my portfolioThe designated broker, who never had the decency or backbone to contact me, decided they would not be willing to manage the properties, based on a few of the locations
This was weeks AFTER I gave them all addresses, and they assured me they were the company to get this portfolio on track
After they dropp

We appreciate the concerns of this prospective customer and are dedicated to providing the highest level of customer and client service possible While we do our best to take every customer concern serious and will review this situation internally with all parties, there a couple of things
which stand out:All employees are provided business cards which include their email address to which contact can be directed; this is a matter of general industry standard and company policy This is not referenced as an attempt at contactThe employee referenced is a commissioned employee meaning that their compensation structure is substantially dependent upon the commissions earned from consummated leases, specifically, the moof a new customer so it would seem implausible that this person would be negligent in the manner describedThere is no time that a prospective tenant is guaranteed that their application fee will not be charged, per the published terms of said application, or that the application fee is contingent on approval or conditions thereofThere would be no way that we could possibly know that a prospective renter would need a cosigner if we did not process their application for which a fee has to be charged per the terms outlined on our publicly published application terms.Again, we are regretful of any friction or misunderstanding with these prospective renters but, respectfully, disagree with said assertions the proposed settlement as it is not in keeping with the terms of the application signed and submitted by this party

I contracted Columbus Real Estate Pros to rent my home in Ohio as I had to leave the state due to being transferred by my employer From the get go they said they pride themselves on customer service I simply asked that in addition to their monthly report they send me that they follow up with a phone call I never received a phone call and I emailed countless times and tried to call them
My contract was supposed to end in July of I reached out and asked what the status was and if the tenant was renewing for another year (because I had heard nothing) Columbus Real Estate Pros then informed me that they already contracted him into a month to month lease without ever notifying me or asking me Now its October, and again, throughout this whole time I have asked Columbus Real Estate Pros countless times to call so that we can discuss what the strategy is (since they put me in a horrible position of a winter move out) and I literally never received anything When my ren

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this concern(s) of this former customer As the Revdex.com is neither an owner nor stakeholder in this business, we would respectfully ask that the request for any monies related to a previous tenants' deposit be sent in writing to our business, attention:
accounting This can be sent via email through our web site or via mail service to our place of business Very respectfully, any dispute regarding financials must be in writing as a matter of company policy We are happy to review said matter upon receipt and follow up in short order thereafter Thank you for your time

I was over billed for repair services and promised a refundThey never delivered it and now they completely ignore my attempts to contact themWhen I finally contacted them I told them I wished to terminate their services and now they have ignored me againThis is all following multiple billing issues and a fraudulent repair charge

The Revdex.com should not post this complaint as the renter is the client of the owner as is the money due. If your an owner you should engage a management company that is willing to have it reputation destroyed for standing up and doing what is necessary to collect ALL THAT IS DUE TO YOU!The Renter Should Follow these instructions for paying for the Damage that was done to the owners property. IN COLLECTIONSDo not contact or accept payments from these tenants. If a tenant contacts you about this debt, have them call the collections agency at (866) 494-9902. If you have questions, contact the collections agency using the agency support information below. Collections Agency Support Information

I am a property owner who uses Property Management Pros (AKA Columbus Real Estate Pros) for the management of a rental propertyI have had a host of problems, but I am only going to focus on the current one that I haveI received an owners statement towards the end of April showing a balance due to me from rental income just like every other monthHowever, this month the deposit never made it's way to my bank accountI have exchanged several emails with the representative I deal with who has told me she has done everything from cancel and resend the ACH deposit, to me needing to check with my bankI checked with my bank this past Friday, and no ACH was attempted to my account from Property Management ProsSince then I have been unable to get a response from my representativeI am not sure what the deal is, or if I will every be paidI am switching management companies next month, and I really hope the new company I am going with does a better jobI use a management company so I don't have to spend my time dealing with these types of thingsIt is very frustrating when I have to spend my time and energy dealing with issues that I feel I am paying them to handleI am going to give it until the end of the week to have this payment issue resolvedAfter that I am going to ask my attorney to get involvedI don't know what else to doit's not that the people I have dealt with from Property Management Pros are mean or rude, I just can't get a resolution from them and the communication is very poorI would look elsewhere for property management services

Complaint: ***
It has been a year, so I welcome the return of my $maintenance fund; but, I am rejecting this response because it does not also transfer the $1,security deposit that the tenant will require from me
The property management Contract between me and RealEstatePros required that RealEstatePros perform management services including interface with the tenant, collect the security deposit and hold said security depositI was not part of collection or holding of tenant security depositRealEstatePros has a helpful publication "Rules to follow" (screen shot attached) that includes this as rule number one: "Please Do Not Talk to Renters (It has been our experience that verbal communications
between parties almost always will be misinterpreted and in some cases result in violations of Fair Housing LawsUnintended Verbal representations may be impliedThis severely compromises our ability to manage the property and more importantly, serve your best interest.)"
To help correct RealEstatePros records, I emailed the tenant and asked for copy of her payment of security deposit and she today replied with the below forwarded message regarding how she paid the security deposit back in October prior to being allowed to move into the house

***, please see the email below from Real Estate Pros when I was working out the details of signing the leaseMonique states that the "momoney must be paid in secure funds; bank check or money order." I believe I paid in money order, so I do not have any records relating to the depositThe momoney was a full month security deposit + the pro-rated rent for OctoberIt is clearly stated in the original leaseI hope this information is helpful; I wish I had a copy of a check or something for youBut they would not have let me move in without the security deposit being paid

Management company is unresponsive to phone calls and emailThere is no way to leave a voicemail messageThey have not collected, to my knowledge, for December utilities that the tenants oweI do not know if they have addressed repairs that the said the tenants need

I have tried to resolve a billing issue with REP since Feb A charge was placed on my account with no descriptionI emailed (because calls are NEVER answered or returned) and I had no response about what the charge wasSo I of course did not pay itSince Feb I have emailed times and over phone callsOut of all of that, 4-emails have been returnedThey were confused on what the $was on my accountAfter my own research, they did not charge me water for months in their error, and then decided to place it on my account at once with no explanationSo from May until now 7/7/16, late fees of over $are being placed on my account each day that goes by for $worth of water bills that I was not aware ofI also stopped into the office & spoke with a lady who assured me that resolution would be made if I pay the $97.25, so I did that days laterStill no resolutionThey continue to apply my rent every month, but charge late fees every day for some

I'm a client with this company and when I call I EXPECT no one to answer the phoneYou most likely will need to leave a messageIf you need to discuss something about your property it seems that you will wait until someone there decides to call you backIn my experience, if you email your contact, there's a really good chance that it will bounce back informing you that your contact is ,"No longer with the company" and they'll give you a phone number with an extensionSo the process starts all over again

Re: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of Central Ohio complaint #12563100.oGreg B***tDear Mr***,We ask that the complaint below be removed from the Revdex.com record and scoring. As this is the beginning of a legal action and account placed with a law firm I understand that your rules would allow
you to do so.Again it really is not fair that a management company is penalized for taking actions on behalf of an owner that is represented in executing our contractual and fiduciary duty.Thank you in advance for having this post removed.Greg B***, CPM

I was moving from my home on South Euclid in May I went to Veteran's Administration in May to inquire about a home located @ *** *** ***, Elyria, Ohio which was advertised on the Internet through Real Estate Pros I called Real Estate Pros and set up an appointment to see the home with Sam (Samantha) who worked at Real Estate Pros I went to see the home and liked it The Veterans Administration sent a voucher to Real Estate Pros for the rent of the house and the security deposit Real Estate Pros stated they never dealt with veterans but Sam called the owner of the property and her supervisor that stated it was ok to do itReal Estate Pros had to wait for the voucher check to clear from Veterans Administration On July 1, I checked with the Veterans Administration who confirmed that the check had cleared on June 3, Sam, who works in Elyria Office, was waiting on the confirmation only to find out that the Columbus Office of Real Estate Pros receive

Very respectfully of our client, we did not nor were we ever trying to force our client to use our brokerage to sell their property although the business is a fully licensed real estate brokerage that is fully capable of and does handle sales listings for clients transitioning from renting to
selling This is the reason that the contract signed by the complainant outlines this provision (the Agent entitlement to sell the property) in two (2) separate spots (please see attached): Section and Section There is nothing duplicitous or otherwise; it is clearly stated in our agreement and we will have to agree to disagree We, again very respectfully of our client, do not understand the disputed amount ($1500); the client is not due any monies beyond those due him through the scope of operations i.ethe collection of rents and disbursement of monies thereafter We did not ask the client for any additional monies; we simply made him aware of the very and commonplace manner by which we would handle this and tried to be forthright Although we do have exclusivity to conduct all activity on any property under contract, including sell that property, we respected the client's strong objection(s) (for reasons not understood) and their prerogative to use another realtor of their choiceThat stated, our contract has value and letting thousands of dollars walk out the door to which we're contractually due is damaging In the interest of appeasing the client, we simply informed them that we would contact the listing realtor they selected and collect our standard referral fee This fee is always paid by other agents who understand and respect our contract and understand the severity of tortuous interference and crossing signs as it pertains to engaging a client already engaged in an agreement We did not ask for any additional monies or otherwise from the client; this referral fee has no bearing on the commission they would pay but, rather, would come from the listing agent's commission for us allowing them to list a property to which we already had contractual priority and engagement Again, we are confused as to the objection by the client when a commonplace industry occurrence based on clear contractual language was simply being carried out and carrying it out would not have interfered with the sale of their property in any way nor would it have cost them any more money.Nonetheless, we have acquiesced to the client to appease them, including forgoing the approximately $referral fee we would be due at the very least, in the interest of putting this unpleasantness behind us In addition, we are allowing the client out of their contract which does not expire until December 29, early and without penalty to, again, appease them and put this unpleasantness behind us Having spoken to the client and outlined the above and the client having found our resolution satisfactory and referencing this complaint and having received the response from the client that our resolution was satisfactory, we would expect this matter to be closed and wish the client the best with their property

We appreciate the opportunity to respond and truly apologize for any inconvenience caused by an internal clerical error Due to features that are incorporated into our management software, any account closed prematurely (before the date entered initially into the software) before the contract
expiration date is assessed a termination penalty per the contract or against any remaining monies in the account Only a manual review of an account closure can override this after the fact and, unfortunately, this was missed causing the complainant's operating reserve to be automatically applied toward said termination fee We apologize for the genuine and honest oversight and are correcting this matter now with the expectation of the former client receiving their monies in no more than days from the date of this response. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this matter and rectify this issue while wishing this former client the very best with their home and all future endeavors

On the 14th June I closed and on a *** *** with large and big units in Cleveland OhioTowards the end of June around the 20th June I signed a PM property management with *** *** Management Pros (sometimes called by the name of *** *** Management Pros ), all based on the legal and professional representations of Karen F* claiming they are a reputable and highly professional PM property management also in the city of Cleveland
I have agreed to a higher management fee then usual flat rate of 79$ per unit which is a lot higher then the average in the PM industry
Karen has appointed Evan P*** as the PM manager on ground for my units in Cleveland
There started to be many misunderstandings and lack of proper update in a timely manner about the situation of the units and especially of the *** *** the vacant unit which was the first priority to urgently advertise and start to rent it out
As the misunderstandin

I have a signed contract from March of the states inspections, including pictures will be taken of the property they are managing for meOnce these inspections were not done I notified the companyThey acknowledged they did not fulfill the contract, but refuse to discuss it any furtherI have tried several times over the last month and inquiries have been ignored
In conjunction with the above contract, another was signed allowing the company to manage the propertyThere is a notice in this contract that states:
"NOTICE: DO NOT Turn ANY utilities off! This may cause major delays & future billing issuesTenants will be required to transfer all utilities into their names prior to moving inTo ensure a smooth transition owners should schedule final readings on all utilities prior to Tenant move ins."
This was not done, as I received a delinquency notice from the City of Columbus, stating the water/sewage was still in my name and I was responsib
