Fraudulent Advertising and Lying Staff's Attempt to Extort Money
This is long, but worth the read. If I could have given less than one star I would have. Corvette Mods falsely advertised a Painless Performance wiring harness to fit a 1990 -1992 Corvette at a cost of $499.99. Upon receipt of the harness I noticed the ECU connections were not compatible with my car's ECU. Technical Support at Painless Performance informed me that the harness would not in fact work in my car and that it is designed for operating only the engine from my car in another entirely different car such as a street rod. I notified Corvette Mods Customer Service Department via email to request a return authorization for the harness. The email contained the transaction information they should have needed to process the return. Several days later they provided a response requesting I complete an RA form which provided them with ALL of the information I had previously provided. I completed the form only to be informed a week later that they required additional information related to the initial sale, which I then provided. After another week and a half I contacted Customer Service requesting the status of my request. I was informed that they were waiting on a response from Painless Performance as to the address the harness was to be shipped to. Even though I had contacted Corvette Mods a week after receiving the harness, the foot dragging on the part of Corvette Mods to process my return request effectively stretched out the return process beyond the 30 day period they allow for refunds. The harness was returned to Painless Performance and the tracking number was provided to Corvette Mods as directed, at which point Corvette Mods issued me a store credit claiming the return was completed beyond the allowed 30 days. After disputing the charge with my credit card company based on the false advertising of the part and the fact that it had been returned, Corvette Mods attempted to again charge my credit card claiming I was still in possession of the harness. Then they claimed I never returned the part and accused me of cyber-fraud even though I have email documentation of their acknowledgement of receipt of the part. They have now sent the matter to collections seeking to collect $251.11 for a harness that was returned last November. My mistake was not researching the company prior to placing an order with them and seeing the hundreds of horrendous reviews. Now I have to deal with the hassle of providing the transaction history to a third party collection agency.
Update: Collection agency ignored my documents proving return of the part and my credit file just took a 115 point "hit". I have already filed a complaint with the State of Texas Attorney Generals Office and WILL be securing the services of an attorney.

Corvette Mods IS A SCAM. NOT A REAL BUSINESS
YOU MUST READ! UNBELIEVABLE! Item did not come, so I called them and they said it is backordered and will arrive in three months. I waited three months and it never arrived. I called customer service and they cannot provide tracking information, so I had to leave a voice message, but nobody responded. I sent an email and nobody responded. I then called my credit card company to reverse charges and purchased from another company. A month latter they responded to my email cussing me out and said I have 48 hours to return the bezel or they will send me to collections. A few weeks later I receive a letter from a collection agent and my credit report has a collection agency on it. Even worse, they decided to charge me double of the original invoice based on the collection agency. I purchased from them in the past and never had an issue. They could have seen that and knew I was a good customer. If they would have provided a tracking number, then I would have worked with them in finding the part or helping them get their money back considering UPS and FedEx both have insurance for missing packages.

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below Regards, [redacted] The proposed fix by using a smaller screw is not adequate since the head of the screw would still not clear the attached edge band and and would leave the screw head exposed which would stand out against the painted surface thru which it would be insertedThe original installation included a body painted screw cap to hide the otherwise exposed screw headWhy would I now accept not using the screw cap? Also note that use of this screw cap would also not work (even with a smaller screw) since its diameter is larger than the screw head, further aggravating the interference with the attached edge band Regarding the pencil diameter size gap between the cover and the piece underneath it, there apparently is no fix for this as the manufacturer claims that this is "normal".I stated that as a "minimum" that Corvette Mods should have offered me from the start should have been $I never said I would accept it I based this number on the difference between what the manufacturer sells this unpainted piece at retail and the cost Corvette Mods charges for the piece plus painting itThis offer was not extended until just recently However, due to the time it took to order and receive this piece from Corvette Mods and trying to resolve the problems I lost my opportunity to show my car that I had scheduled at a car show I have sine ordered a better product from a competitor The part provided by Corvette Mods is useless to me.Please also note that Corvette Mods had the opportunity to inspect the piece when they received it from the manufacturerHad they done this and understood how the piece is installed, the problems would have been obvious and painting should not have been performedThe unpainted part could then have been returned to the manufacturer.Corvette Mods claim that since the piece has been painted and therefore cannot be returned is their responsibility since they chose to paint it prior to verifying its adequacy

[redacted] The customer called us on the 17th and he was informed that accounting already had his order for processing and it could take up to hrs for the refund to be processed and depending on his financial institution it could be 3-business days to reflect in his accountThat call was made at 11:amThe customer call us today 6/at 9:am inquiring about the refund and he was again informed that accounting was processing the refund and they were not in the office at the time so the rep was unable to see what the status wasThe customer responded in the same manner that he has been responding to us all alongI have included the recorded call from this morningOn the call he states that we threatened him with collections and we would like to reiterate that he was informed that if he filed a dispute with his credit card while he was still in possession of the merchandise then he would be referred to collectionsAs a business we have customers purchase products from us all the time and then dispute the charges on the credit card so we have to protect ourselvesWe have tried to deal with this customer in the most calm and straightforward manner and as you will hear on the recording he can be quite demanding, abrasive and difficult The customer was refunded this morning, within the hr window that was quoted to himThank you, [redacted] Operations Manager

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] 2, and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute. Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below. Regards, [redacted] I hope they have me on recording being abusive, otherwise the statement is hearsay. Forward the recording of my abusive tone to the BBB for review as I would also like to hear it. Finally, a partial refund of which they have yet to send me a copy of for my records. BBB, I do not have a copy of a refund receipt from corvette mods as of this writing. They held back charges for shipping and as part of the sale, shipping was "Free". I will not be satisfied unless a full refund has been made to my credit card account. The business is shady at best and from the amount of complaints to the Fortworth BBB and on the internet, I am not the only one who feels so. I will contact the FTC even though I had never said I would. Thanks corvette mods for pointing me in the right direction.

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted]

Ordered a part that "was in stock." My debit card was charged immediately. A week later I still don't have my order. I call and email to cancel my order. I am told it is cancelled. I wait for my refund, it never happens. I contact cust svc and they say they might not be able to cancel my order as it may be in process. I contact the Ft. Worth BBB and TX attorney general and what do you know, Corvette Mods claims they processed my refund July 1, 2019 and the order was cancelled. Here it is 24 days later and I still haven't received my refund and now they claim they shipped the order. I have saved all the emails and pointed out they said it was cancelled. They claim I received my order, yet I have received nothing and they still have my money. Based on other reviews, it might be time for a class action lawsuit for fraud and theft by Corvette Mods.

I wrote a review a few weeks ago about a decal I ordered from Corvette Mods. I sent back because it didn't fit my car. They said the decal was damaged in shipping and sent me a picture, it wasn't damaged so I asked for a better picture and the second picture they sent was definitely different from the first. It appears someone intentionally messed it up. They told me to call the shipping company to investigate so I did. UPS went over there twice to pick up the decal and investigate but Corvette mods refused to give it to them. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM AT ALL.

I ordered 2 ceramic mugs. Paid $38.97. They arrived broken. I didn’t even fully remove them from the original packaging. I took pics and emailed the company. It took days for any response I even tried calling which was a total waste of time. Finally I got a RMA number and it cost me $13.00 in shipping to return the very broken products. See attached photos. I was notified that they received the items back and will have to file a claim with the shipper then they will get back to me. Are you serious? Any claim they have to put in with the shipper is their problem. I either want a replacement or a refund. This company is horrible with standing behind their product and customer service. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! $42 later and I have nothing but a headache. It has been 1 month so now it's time to call my credit card company and dispute the charge.

This customer contacted ACC ( American Car Craft) before contacting us and they offered to send him smaller screw that would solve the problem that he is reportingThe customer declined the offer and then called usWe contacted ACC on his behalf and they informed us of the resolution to
which the customer again declinedWe informed him the the part is custom painted and cannot be returned however we were willing to offer him a 15% refund and he countered with " My position is that since ACC charges $for the cover and I paid $
to Corvette mods, the difference of $should be the very minimum I
should get back and not the %15." We responded to his counter and offered "I have spoken to management and they are willing to 15% as a refund or
$as store credit onlyPlease let me know how you would like to
proceed." and we have still not heard back from the customerThe item is not unusable and we have offered to send him the items he needs and so has the actual manufacturerWe have emailed the customer and informed him that we are willing to give him the requested $refund and we are awaiting his response.Thank you,*** ***

We have offered to take back the used product with a restock fee once the case is closed out

Returns can take 7-business days to process from the time to item is received at the warehouseOur accounting issued the refund this morningThe customer called this morning and was told his order had already been sent to accounting for processingThe customer has been abrasive on the phone and made numerous threats to file complaints with FTC and Revdex.com as well as filing a dispute with his credit card companyWe have made every good faith effort to resolve the customers complaint while adhering to our policiesPlease see the attached image for proof that the customer has been refunded.Thank you,*** ***Operations Manager

The flares were received by Corvette Mods' vendor over a week ago and no credit to my account has been issuedThey are in fact still holding payment for flares that I have returned to them and the tracking proves my claimI have provided both Corvette Mods and the Fortworth Revdex.com the information to prove the flares were indeed returnedI will wait for the Fortworth Revdex.com to make a determination on this caseIf I do not receive a credit minus the 20% they say is a restocking fee in days I will report them to my credit card companyThey can hold the 20% now until the Revdex.com investigates and proposes an outcomeJust as the internet complaints suggest, they are willing to take your money but not willing to give it backPoor business practices

We offered the customer a refund of $dollars as he originally requested and he has declinedThe product is not useless and the smaller screws will not hinder the usability of the itemWe are willing to make an exception and the customer can, at his expense, ship the product back to us and we will refund him.Thank you,*** ***

*** *** Corvette mods stated that the flares install with no modification to the vehicle with doublesided tapeNo doublesided tape was included or installed on flares prior to shipping to meNowhere in the listing does it say use "epoxy" to install as included in the manufacturers taped on instructions in packageThe flares were misrepresented in the listing and also by the salemen who informed me they tape onThe manufacturers response says that "all" flares need to be epoxied on glued onto the vehicleThat is a biased responseI included the best pictures that I could and even took a clear picture showing the instructions to "epoxy here"I have forwarded those pictures to both Corvette Mods and the Fortworth Revdex.comThe vendor writes that I cursed at themWhat they fail the explain is that they threatened to put me in collection and damage my perfect credit if I back out of the sale or contact my credit card company for assistanceLisa also stated that there was no reason they should be talking to me as they're answer was finalStating that they were going to put me in collection and damage my credit is clearly a threat and reading prior complaints within the Revdex.com and on the internet is the way they do businessI sent them back their "undamaged" flares in the original box back to their manufacturer at my expenseThey need to refund my purchase 100%

To whom it may concern,We have sent return information to the customer and he has agreed to the 20% restocking fee that will be assessedPlease close this complaint as resolved.Thank you,*** ***Operations Manager
