Divorce Place Inc Reviews (228)

Attached are the stamped filed copies with the court case number as well as the signed green receipt from her spouse stating he was served and received the documents. If you need anything else please let us know and we would be more than happy to assist.

Hello [redacted],I have gone ahead and reviewed your account, I was able to see that the initial payment for our service was back in 2/27/2017 and I am not sure when you currently filed but I am guessing it was recently, as per the refund policy we ask the client that take a little longer to initial...

file to send us a rejection letter from the court with in the 30 days of the court rejecting the forms, like I mention I am not sure the exact day you filed but I see that it's been passed 120 days of what the terms and conditions state, I apologize for the inconvenience but we cannot issue a refund, however you may call customer support and we can modify your forms for you to refile. Sincerely, [redacted]

First and foremost, we
apologize to the customer for any inconvenience she may have had using our
service. This customer had contacted us on several occasions over the...

phone
regarding questions about filing procedures, asking for an additional form that
is not included in the divorce paperwork, and needing a change on one of her
documents. When the customer had the chance to speak to a customer support
agent or her case worker, we were happy and willing to help her each time.
She had called in to
request a change that she needed made on one of the forms and that change was
addressed for her the same day. Normally changes need to be submitted to the
customer's case worker and once submitted they take 48 hours as per our policy,
but our support team had gone out of their way to help this customer with what
she needed, as well as had her case worker contact her to answer any additional
questions she had.
The customer requested a
form from her case worker on 07/24/2014 at 10:55AM, her case worker responded
to her with the correct form at 11:45AM the same day. No contact was made to
her case worker asking for any changes or extra forms after 07/24/2014.
The form she stated was
outdated is not usually included in the divorce paperwork that we provide,
though it was provided to her on 07/11/2014 so that she may attempt to request
the court waive her court costs. This form is not a required form needed to obtain
a divorce.
When the customer
requested a refund for the service, we reviewed her case and asked her to
provide a formal rejection letter from the court or the "new" forms
to prove that the ones we had provided to her were in fact not accepted. We asked
this of the customer so that our refund department would be able to issue her a
full refund, as per our policy. We uphold to our refund policy as long as the
customer can provide us with either of those options.
We sent her an email
requesting either of those options on 08/01/2014. The customer informed us on
08/04/2014 that she could not provide us with a rejection letter nor the
"new" forms from the court. Her response was sent to our refund
department on 08/04/2014 and her request at that time was still pending review.
She was told that she will receive a response with the refund department's
decision via email. She posted this complaint before her request could be
formally processed within our system.
As a solution to this
situation, we are able to issue a full refund for the customer's service
without the usual required documentation from her.

Our client registered and paid for our
services on 06/30/2014. She called in and asked questions about the account regarding
changing her profile from an annulment to divorce on 07/01/2014....

We normally
charge a fee to switch service types but we had waived that fee for her. On
07/10/2014 client upgraded to the platinum service on her account. The client
then called again on 07/16/2014 and spoke to a supervisor whom explained the details
of the platinum service and that it does not include court filing costs. The
supervisor also informed the client that she paid for shipping and we would
ship the forms only after she downloaded and reviewed the forms to make sure no
changes were needed before we shipped out the hard copies.
On 08/04/2014 client called in for status
and the same supervisor informed her that she still needed to download the
forms and review them as we show on our end there was no record of her doing
so. On 8/11/2014 the client called in and confirmed no changes were needed and provided
the address for us to ship the forms. On 08/15/2014 the client called in and
informed us of new information on her case. We informed her that we are not able
to issue legal advice at any time and if she needed legal advice she would need
to contact a local attorney because it is simply in her best interest to do so.
We received the signed forms in the mail
on 02/20/2015. On 02/22/2015 we informed the client we were missing several
signed forms and the money order for the filing fee which was included in the initial
instructions we had sent out to her prior to her mailing us the forms. The client
got back to us on 05/11/2015 and we sent the instructions for the platinum
service to her a second time along with the detailed instructions of what was
missing for her specific case.
On 08/04/2015 client called in and let us
know she is stationed in ** and will not be able to appear in court. We told
the client that if the court requires a hearing she will need to appear or
contact them in regards to their policies and her situation.
On 10/20/2015 we received the missing
forms as well as the money order for the filing fee. The case was reviewed for
the second time and sent to the court to file on 10/26/2015. We received the
forms back from the court with a court case number stating the case was
accepted and filed on 11/06/2015. We emailed and informed the client of the
case filing details. We then sent the copies certified mail to her spouse for
service on 11/11/2015. The spouse did not respond in the given period allowed
(legally the spouse has the right not to sign) so we informed the client and
sent her all proof of service forms as well as the certified mail receipt.
Platinum services were rendered as we
cannot require the spouse to respond in any way. We are upfront and clear from
the beginning of the services that all cases must be uncontested. He did not
respond saying he did not agree or did agree so we informed the client they are
eligible to proceed via default.
We spoke to the client on 01/08/2015
informing the client she is not eligible for a platinum refund as services were
rendered as promised. We guarantee the filing of the paperwork and that the
forms are accepted – they were accepted and a case number was provided to the
client. We also attempt to serve the spouse based on the information provided
by the client and their acknowledgement that their case is uncontested (meaning
both parties are in agreement and will not fight based on the terms of their
divorce) – we served the spouse and provided proof of service to the client. We
do not guarantee the spouse will respond. We have yet to hear from the client
since that date.

These people are liars.  This is not how this happened at all and I have my emails to show when my refund was requested.  I requested the refund on Feb 24 and the response email said 3-7 days to be processed nothing about 10 days.  Someone from there called me on the 25th and tried to talk me into finishing the process and not cancelling.  When I explained I could not they said well hope everything works out and hung up.  I never could get anyone to answer the customer service phone number...NEVER was I able to talk to a person again and there was no email address for me to contact them directly.  I have not been given a refund yet.  I did receive an email today saying that my request was approved and I would be getting a refund.  But as of yet it has not shown up in my account nor is it pending.  If it is returned to my account then the complaint will be resolved but that has not happened so far and their account of events is not factual!

Regards,
[redacted]  as as clearly shown, directly off the calif gov site. They did not give me the correct forms to fill out. Nor did they ever provide blank copies for my husband to fill out which is also stated clearly on their website as a must in addition the process server form by Rachel Loft was never seen nor signed as required by law by my husband. I have been told the entire case must be redone with a cancelation of this case. It was not stated in the rejection letter from the courts which I did provide them. They did not do what they guaranteed.

This rejection letter is for the Judgment which is a form that she is to file with the court on her own. Platinum service clearly states we file the initial paper work and serve the spouse, all finalization is to be handled by the client with the court. The rejection also just stated that the judgment was the only document filed incorrectly as it was not "bound" together. When the client sent us this letter we let her know the court is simply asking you to paperclip the judgment or staple it depending on their preference. It also states the exact steps and what is needed to bind this form. This is something done wrong on the clients end and not ours. The case was filed and services were rendered. Client will not receive a refund without the proper documentation stating that something we did was wrong.

We ask that the complaint be removed as we have already resolved the issue as of 04/05/2017. Thank you.

[Though I had updated my number and address the company claims they tried to call with no messages. Now they are saying they never got my spouses paperwork, thought he followed their directions to send it in. They want to confirm my shipping address to send me outdated, non usable paperwork that I have been asking for sense before November 2017 to say this was resolved. [redacted] the manger , assigned another customer rep to contact me while I asked for direct contact from a manager. They claim their 100% money back garuntee is only valid for 30 days, my paperwork was not even filed within that time due to this company not telling me the correct fee amount. I have had to restart the whole process on my own, costing me hundreds of dollars. ]

Looking at this complaint it seems the client was refunded and there is really nothing else to reply to. The client issued a dispute to her card which resulted in a chargeback to us.  We then refunded her as well so the client was given 2 refunds.  1 from us and one from the chargeback that she submitted.  We sent notice to the credit card company that account was refunded.  The card company revered the chargeback.   Any charges on her credit card needs to be take up with her credit card company as we did no refile the charges on her card.  We issued the refund to the client as we indicated and the matter needs to be taken up with the credit card company. We have nothing else to add to this account or matter- [redacted]

I have correspondence via messages. Some I can't see anymore because it was redirected to the platinum service dept. Isn't it true that there isn't a true caseworker assigned to one person as I never did get any responses from Mr. [redacted]? I've explained several times that the court clerk kicked back the forms your company sent them because they were dissatisfied with the forms that were submitted. True, it wasn't a denial from the judge, it was however, kicked back to me. It was stamped "filed" but no case number was assigned. I had to seek help from the court window helper to advise me on what to do. They immediately advised me to get a refund from this service because they clearly didn't know the process on which forms needed to be submitted first, and that the forms were incomplete. They also said I shouldn't have notarized certain forms yet which I had done.

I did state earlier that my divorce has since been finalized. And I did show proof that my divorce was initially denied due to a box on the Divorce Decree that wasn't checked.  A manager named [redacted] from My Divorce Papers left me a message saying that she spoke with the courts to follow up on my divorce out of confusion and they reiterated that my divorce is finalized making this out of her jurisdiction.  I'm not sure why she felt the need as I have stated that my divorce is final
I am very disappointed that this company continues to refuse a refund to anyone that is thoroughly unhappy with theit service.
I am still requesting a refund. I paid a total of $408 for nothing.  My experience with this company was frustrating, a constant wait for correspondence...I had to take a call from the court clerk to retrieve the forms in person, and the forms were initially denied by the judge. I've sent in a picture as proof of that. I had to deal with going down to the courts to retrieve and submit the forms myself and got them signed by my ex...the divorce was finally granted.  I also had to get certain forms notarized again because of the poor knowledge of this service. If anything, PLEASE refund me at least the Platinum Service Fee as the court stated to me that my ex couldn't be served as he was in the same state.  I chose to go with this service although we were both agreeing to a divorce because of our conflicting schedules and because I'm constantly off island for work
I've never had to request a refund for anything before but in this case I feel the need to.  I've been advised by numerous people including people that helped me with my forms to make sure that I demand a refund

I paid for standard divorce service with Divorce Place Inc aka mydivorcepapers.com. Their form service was okay and they were somewhat responsive until I upgraded to platinum service for the additional charge. The papers they sent to the courthouse were missing some forms, there were forms included that should not have been, and they told me the wrong fee, so the money order was off by a dollar or so which of course stumped the government employee. The court sent all the papers back to me instead of the business citing many reasons. I tried to get in touch with the business starting in early January and did not receive a response. I followed up several times and they asked me to take photos of the court document showing the reasons the papers were returned, which I did even though I had done that already. They just don’t seem to know what they’re doing from a legal process or an internal process. I have sent multiple emails since January, and ended up filing the papers and having my spouse served on my own, but the business is refusing to refund the money for the platinum service which they did not even deliver. You would think at a reputable place of business someone would pick up the phone and call the customer to resolve the issue, but I just keep getting the runaround and having to start over with basic customer service clerks each time. This whole business is fishy. I would not recommend it to my enemy.

Review: On 1/22/2015 I paid $159 for Divorce Papers to create my divorce paperwork within the 3-10 days guaranteed. I called their customer support line on 2/9/2015 asking when my paperwork would be ready. The response I received was that it would not be ready until 2/20/2015 which is exactly double their guarantee. I stated that this was unacceptable at that point in time and requested a refund immediately. Their refund policy requires a 3 - 10 business day review. It has been 11 business days since then and I have not received a refund or completed paperwork.Desired Settlement: I would like my entire payment amount refunded. Going through a divorce is already a very difficult situation and this company has made it a nightmare to even try to file.

Business

Response:

We appreciate the patience during this busy season.

Review: Company will let customers know that they will prepare divorce papers for a price which is paid upfront. Once you complete the interview you should be able to print your paperwork to file with the courts, this is approximately 3-10 business days, after over 45 days, I am unable to print anything, while I call and they leave me waiting for over an hour. No answers to the case, and they have no idea as to when paperwork will be available.Desired Settlement: I want this company to give me a full refund for their "services" that were never provided

Business

Response:

We have reached out to the client via email as well as a phone call. Have reached a resolution with the client and this issue is closed.

Regards,

They have not as of yet refunded the money that was paid to them. I am requesting a full refund, however, they continue to say that they will send the paperwork completed after 2 months. I have already hired a service in town that is taking care of my divorce. Please know as of 2/3/2016 I am still waiting for a refund.

We have reached out to the customer on several occasions to get the information needed to process her request. Customer needs to contact us via ticket or phone call so we may complete this issue.

Review: I purchased these divorce papers online and paid an extra $20-$30 to have them mail them out to me. In the meantime, I printed them online and presented them to the [redacted] in my county and was told that they were a complete mess and that the woman had no clue how to file such a mess of papers and that I needed to go online and print some from the county website. I did so and filed the new papers. I contacted this business multiple times without getting a response back. Upon further investigating, I found that they don't issue refunds and I was out of luck for the $300 I spent on something that I couldn't use. I realize that I may not be eligible for the full refund but I never even received the papers in the mail, which I think is bogus. I paid for them and they wouldn't contact me back and never sent the papers out.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a full refund. If that is not possible, I would like to have a partial refund. I paid for something that I never received. And what I did receive, were not able to be filed. I have since filed papers that I got from my county and am not able to get a statement saying that the papers I printed off are not able to be filed.

Business

Response:

MyDivorcePapers.com advertises a court approval guarantee regarding the documentation submitted to the court. Per the guarantee, we stand by our service,

Review: The company guarantees that their divorce papers will be accepted by any state / county. I notified them on 2/3 that I needed additional paperwork and I sent them exactly what the Clerk of Courts said was missing. They did not respond to my requests for an update on this which I sent on 2/17, 2/20 and 2/24/15. Since the guarantee of their work is only for 15 days, I feel that they are not responding so that those 15 days are up and they don't have to provide any refund or correction.Desired Settlement: If they can't do the refund they should at least complete / correct what they didn't provide. I even paid $125.00 over the advertised for expedited service and now they provide NO service.

Business

Response:

Thank you for providing the feedback regarding our services.

Review: I used Mydivocepapers.com to fill out divorce papers and have them shipped to me. I paid for the service and the overnight shipping. I used the website and completed everything. It's been two weeks and I have not received my papers. They only give two ways to contact them, and that's by one phone number or making a claim ticket. I have done both of these 7 times over the last two weeks. The phone numbers only goes to a website management company that can only take a message and send it to the website owners, which have never responded back, via email or phone to my messages. I have checked all junk mail also.

I have not received the services and material that I was charged for and have not gotten any customer service responses from themDesired Settlement: Give the services provided within 3 weeks of payment, or give a full refund back.

Business

Response:

Our client had completed our process online on 03/05/2015 - at that time we had provided instructions on how to "confirm to ship" the documentation so we may have that sent out to the proper address. We had sent instructions regarding this confirmation process and didn't receive a confirmation from the client until 03/11/2015. Services were rendered that same day as forms were shipped to the client per the clients request.
