I really liked an item and wanted to buy it For days I tried to use their payment process, [redacted] , but it was not working You can not contact Etsy The email that I sent, asking for help, was answered with the suggestion to “contact the seller” I did and after days, agreed to send a Money Order to the seller You can guess the rest of the story The seller took the $377.00, cancelled his Etsy account and his cell phone number Etsy said they couldn’t help me because I had not used [redacted] …..but Etsy, I tried for days!!!! Etsy has ignored the entire issue and was not willing to give any forwarding info or any help so that I could try to re-coup my money It has been reported to the police There is no support for the buyer Beware!

The Customer has been fully refunded for their purchase by the Seller. Would it be possible to close the complaint? Thanks very much, - [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: Because Etsy is the platform the seller utilized and the seller instructed the buyer to misrepresent the value of the item being returned, which is against domestic and international laws, of which breaches Etsy's Terms of Use Therefore, the value the buyer is able to retrieve upon filing a complaint with USPS is limited solely to the return shipping charges and the undervalued amount, of which is a fraction of the item's value In all, this transaction now leads the buyer with a fraction of the total item's value, and without the item itself Sincerely, [redacted]

April **, To: The Revdex.com [redacted] [redacted] Via Email: [redacted] Re: Case # [redacted] Dear [redacted] : This letter further sets forth Etsy’s position regarding the rejection of our response to the complaint dated March **, against Etsy, Inc(“Etsy”)Etsy’s service, Etsy.com, is a marketplace where people around the world connect to buy and sell unique goodsTo use the site, each individual must agree to Etsy’s Terms of Use and other site policies [redacted] (the “Customer”) is an Etsy member and agreed with Etsy’s Terms of UseEtsy’s Terms of Use state, “Etsy is not directly involved in the transaction between buyers and sellersAs a result, Etsy has no control over the quality, safety, morality or legality of any aspect of the items listed, the truth or accuracy of the listings, the ability of sellers to sell items or the ability of buyers to pay for itemsEtsy does not pre-screen users or the content or information provided by usersEtsy cannot ensure that a buyer or seller will actually complete a transaction” Etsy’s Terms of Use also state, “You release Etsy (and Etsy's officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, joint ventures and employees) from any and all claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected, disclosed and undisclosed, arising out of or in any way connected with disputes with one or more users, or an outside party.” In the rejection, the Customer states that the original product and an altered replacement product she received from an Etsy seller (the “Seller”) was not as describedThe Customer asks why this case is no longer eligible for mediation, and why an altered item is unable to be compared to the original itemAs previously mentioned, the replacement item that the Customer received was alteredAs such, this transaction is no longer eligible for mediation through Etsy’s case system in accordance with Etsy’s transaction eligibility guidelinesThese guidelines state that items that have been altered, used, worn or washed after receiving are no longer eligible for the case systemIt’s unfortunate that the altered item once again does not meet the Customer’s expectations, however because the original item was not officially determined to be not-as-described by Etsy before the Customer returned it to the seller, we’re unable to force the seller to provide a second replacement or a refundEtsy does not mediate replacement agreements of this natureHad the Customer waited to send the original item back to the seller until after Etsy made a determination that the original item was indeed significantly different from the seller’s original listing, we might have been able to continue to mediate the situation through the case systemOnce again, we must ask that the Customer continue to work with the Seller directly about the desired resolutionIn the event the Customer has any further questions about Etsy’s dispute system, they may contact our Trust team for more information at [redacted] We are sorry to hear that the Customer did not have a satisfactory experience with this SellerHowever, in accordance with our Terms of Use, the Customer releases Etsy from any and all claims, demands, and damages arising from such disputesEtsy considers this matter closed at this timeIf you have any questions, please contact [redacted] Sincerely, [redacted] Etsy, Inc

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: Correct, I knew when I placed my order that if anything should happen, I was to contact the seller The problem, is that the seller never replied to any correspondence And when you go to look at her return policy, or anything else about her shop, you find that the shop has been removed All you are able to see is comments from other people, some happy, most quite upset Seems to me that if Etsy is going to shut one of their shops down, they could at least contact the people with pending orders and advise that there is an issue A simple email would have been sufficient All I'm looking for is to recover my $ Thanks for your assistance! In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I ordered a pair of Nike Pink Hiraches shoes and paid $for them from Etsy for my daughter as a Christmas present in early December I received them two weeks after Christmas and they appeared spray painted pink as you could see the paint on the inside of the shoe and on the laces My daughter still loved them and wore them for hour when the paint on the plastic band around the back of the shoe started falling off The top of the shoe on the toe box began discoloring When I contact Etsy about it, they said it was wear and tear wanted a full refund and they refused and said it could be fixed I am sending the shoes back tomorrow morning and I still demand full refund but they want to "fix" them Perhaps they'll spray paint them again, I don't know but I will NEVER use Etsy again This is the second disappointment with them! I have pictures if you want to see the painted shoe
