This moving company was deceptive and unethical in their practicesDemanded 56% higher payment, demanded cash, threatened not to deliver goods
This company should not be permitted to operateMy nephew obtained a quote of $for a move from PA to NC They increased the price of the move by
$the day of packing/loading with no supportThe day of the move, they called hours before they were supposed to arrive, demanding the final payment in CASH and changed to a 'shuttle truck' (saying that their truck wouldn't fit), adding another $At that point I intervened and called the driver to assure him that the truck would easily fit He said it was 'too late', and then threatened me that if we were not there with the cash, they would leave with his belongings Upon arriving hours late, they then demanded another $to move the items up stairs We ended up moving the items ourselves to avoid the additional expense, which caused additional back injuries for my husband
I contracted with Excalibur Moving Group in Boynton Beach, FL to move my belongings from Wichita, KS to Pensacola, FL in December Excalibur Moving Group is a broker to the mover, *** *** with Platinum Vanlines (*** said he is the owner of Platinum Vanlines)My experience thus far has consisted of poor customer service with no follow up, no returned calls, and NO delivery of my belongingsEverything began on 12/19/with a call from Excalibur's customer service giving wrong info about arrival date & time of moverWhen *** showed up, he was lateHe had a helper who was properly dressed for the cold weather and his year old son with him*** & his son were wearing short sleeves and had no jacketsMy daughter and I had to "baby sit" ***'s son, ***, while he and his helper loaded my belongingsHis son was hungry, so we fed him a snackThey broke the stair rail and were rough with my thingsIt was agreed verbally that my clothes would deliver seperately
This move has been nothing but a headache, pure stress and just traumatizing for me to the point I should have just sold everything and bought it when I movedI am a single mom of an infant and this company did there best to sweet talk me into going with there company
Never informing me that other companies would be picking up/dropping offThey advised they would do it and it would be smooth and a stress free move Lies
My items were picked up on 5/2/I was told they would be there between 9-they never showed up till almost very unprofessional movers showed up to my house and while loading my things where not careful by any meansScratched my floors, thought it was an inconvenience to them when I asked them to take there trash with them and rushed me thru signing documented and quickly explaining the documents (after which I found out what was explained what's not what I was signing at all.)
After my items were loaded I was at that time told it could worst case take 1-days to get my itemsAFTER MY ITEMS WERE LOADED AND PAID I WAS TOLD THIS!
Well...fast forward to today 5/19/ I still have no belongingsI call every day for an ETA and every day I have been told there is no Eta At this timeI also asked for a weight ticket and found out they didn't weigh my truckThey said it takes to long andSometimes is out of the way for moversNot my problemThey rudely stated 'we can weight your truck but you will pay anything it weighs over' I responded with no I will not since I was told I would never pay what was over my contract that that price was over weight and I would be refunded what it was over but I would never pay more
I've been speaking to *** and *** and a very rude girl who I can never get her nameIm so beyond mad and want my belongingsPreferably undamaged but with the way things have gone im not hopefulSave yourself and find a new moving company
The customer service cannot give me a reason for my delay of delivery, and they also hang up my phone call twice!
The company pushes back my delivery date, I want to call them to ask about the specific reason that they push back the delivery, but they just hang up my phone call twiceI called twice, and they hanged up twiceHow bad attitude they areI know it must be someone pick up the phone and hanged up right after that without saying a wordI spend a lot of time waiting on the call line, and they just hang up my call???? This situation also happened once last week, I thought it might be a coincidence, but if it happens twice for my two consecutive calls, it must be on purposeTheir refusal to answering the phone and delay of my delivery date makes me suspect that if there is something wrong with my items stored in their storage
We were charged almost double our original estimate and received careless, unprofessional moving services
I was originally given a weigh estimate of 5,pounds, and a flat rate price of $3,to include full pack servicesI paid a $deposit and was told the final balance would be split between pickup and deliveryOn January 9th, I received another call from dispatch, and was informed that my original estimate was incorrect, the final cost had been changed to $3,and that I would need to pay another $depositI was also informed during this phone call that my move date had been changed from Saturday the 13th to Sunday the 14th of JanuaryOur mover did not end up arriving until Monday the 15thWhen he arrived, the driver offered me an under the table deal if I were to terminate my contract with Excalibur and hire him independentlyI informed him that I was not comfortable with this and would like to stick to the original estimate I was offeredThe men responsible for
Moving company lied, overcharged, damaged and lost belongs, and is now not responding to a damage claim
This moving company/broker is the most unprofessional I have ever encounteredThey arrived a day late with a full truck so there was not enough room for me belongingsThe had to actually take by stuff, drop it off and return to get the restThe movers fought with each other, using bad language, calling in to their boss on each otherThey did a terrible job wrapping my furniture and loading it in the truck, they were trying to rush so they took no care in my belongingsThe supervisor a math mistake and when I told him it was wrong and that the estimate could not be that far off he was sooooooooo very rude and stated that is was and I just needed to pay itSo I paid what I was originally told to pay and because of that my stuff went into storage and did not moveOver the next week I tried to get someone to see the mathematical issue but they insisted that I pay the overageM
Issues with contact and customer service
Within an hour of filing a moving quote with this company, I received seven calls, three texts, and emailsI am not sure whether they sent my information to other moving companies, or if it was all themI know that all of the emails were from this company aloneI talked to to people on the phone to have them take me off the call listI unsubscribed from the emails, and I called and emailed them directly as wellThe biggest issue was with an employee named *** *** that was incredibly rudeHe answered the phone by just saying, "moving", and hung up on me the first time after telling me, "that's what happens when you put your contact information online"I called back and requested to be taken off contact list permanently, and this did not happenI needed the issue solved because I started receiving emails from other moving companies that I should start receiving calls from them within a few minutes for moving quotesThe last time I

Unknowingly to us our move was subcontracted to Move On Movers out of Las VegasThey came to load our household move and informed us the move was large
Completely unprofessional and failed to complete terms of contract
Customer service rep was hitting a vape pen while on the phone with me They failed to complete the terms of the contractThey lied about the terms Of the contract regarding payment due on deliveryThey failed to pick up my load within the timeframe they were contracted toThey have failed to deliver my load with in the contracted time frame - even counting from the pick up date and not the original dateThey told me delivery fee was based on weight and that there was a weigh less pay less term on contract yet I am due to pay more according to the company the brokered out (which is another issue as I was told that it would be them and their truck picking up my load) because of the cubic feetNo one EVER said anything about having to pay based on cubic feetThey spoke to the trucking company AS ME and so when I called the trucking company that is doing the delivery he said to me "I just talked to you" no, h

This moving company charged me a non-refundable deposit amount of $per their quote, then they refused to provide service as agreed upon
Sales rep gave quote of moving over the phone and charged me a deposit over the phone of $When drivers arrived at my place they claimed my quote wasn't accurate and they tried to charge me almost double the amount agreed uponI asked them to stick to our agreement and they refused to give my money back

We hired this company to move from michigan to Florida I sent the cancellation email within the hour mark like stated per contract Still showed up when they showed up they only gave us cubic sqft They never mentioned anything about the size only the weight we were to go by, which was 2,pounds They are refusing to give our deposit of $back because apparently it was out of the cancellation window However, I sent the email to cancel services within hours They were extremely rude and told me they were going to win in court and that I'd end up paying them the $still plus court fees because I'd lose in court I've emailed them three times even forwarded the email with the cancellation email attached It's been three days and I have not heard anything
DO NOT use this companyI hired this company back in February I have yet to receive my furnitureI have gotten the run around over and over againThis company is a brokerThey contracted another company (also scam artists) to pick up my furnitureDO NOT hire Pacific Van linesThey are all in the scam togetherMy furniture was put in a warehouse owned by Pacific Van Lines in Dallas TexasSo today I found out that they went through my boxes, found a few checks in a box and forged my nameThey drained my bank account!! I have filed a police report, and I will do everything in my power to bring these companies downI will also be filing a civil lawsuitExcalibur Moving Group needs to be shut down as well as Pacific Van LinesThis has been a nightmare for me but justice will done!!
Excalibur brokered my move (without my knowledge) to a company that operates without complying with DOT laws and without insurance
I hired Excalibur on 12/15/ They didn't make final delivery of my items until 2/20/after missing delivery dates Upon final delivery, I immediately notified them of my damaged and missing items They stated the company they hired for the move would be responsible However that company is operating without insurance and refuses to call me back or respond I have filed complaints with the DOT and Deptof Justice I just want my stuff back or my claim to be settled so I can purchase my missing things valued at over $10K work of items
Basically, the movers who came to move me from Woodstock, VA to Philippi, WVa were not the professionals I expected to have do the moving job for meThey did not speak English very well, the comunication was badThey arrived at my apt in Woodstock, Va at 4pm They were supposed to come between 8am and noon After the things were loaded up in the truck, they left before me to Philippi Asfar as the charges, I feel I have been overcharged, the amount of $1, They charged extra for the long-carry by using the flights of stairsThey must have thought they needed to charge extra for the stairs, which I feelis unfair to me So, when I got to Philippi; I did not see the truck when I arrived at my new Residence at *** in Philippi, WVa One of the residents there who was waiting for me said she did not see the truck either Well, it was another week until I saw my stuff being delivered That day the things were delivered to ***, I noticed my f
Five weeks to deliver my stuff, and it ended up costing more than double the original estimateThis was one of the worst experiences I've ever been through
Let me start off by saying that I didn't reach out to Excalibur; they contacted me (I must have been put on some sort of call list) after I'd already booked a PODI said "no thanks, I'm already made arrangements," and the agent, Taylor, replied, "Well just humor me, and maybe I can get you a better deal." Knowing my move was going to be long and stressful (over 3,miles), I would have been happy to save a few bucks
*** asked me for a detailed inventoryIt was mostly boxes, and not very much furnitureI KEPT EMPHASIZING how many boxes we had (it was dozens and dozens of very full, very heavy boxes), but he kept assuring me "No no no, boxes aren't a big deal, it's the furniture you have to worry about." So their estimate was around $2,200, which was more than a thousand dollars less than the POD I'd bookedSo I canceled my POD and booked with ExcaliburI was relieved to be saving a few hundred bucks
But then the movers arrived, and it all went southFirst of all, they had me sign all the paperwork first, before they moved anythingStandard procedure, I figuredSecond, they explained they were with "American Family Movers," a totally separate company who were contracted out by ExcaliburI thought that was strange, but shrugged it offBut third and worst of all, they couldn't tell me how much it would cost until they'd already loaded the truck, hours laterThe final total was $4,900!! More than double what the Excalibur agent had estimated! I was flabbergasted, but it was too late to turn back because we were hitting the road the next dayNot to mention, THEY'D ALREADY LOADED THE TRUCKThey had us right where they wanted us
*** the "main" mover guy, explained that the reason it cost so much more than the estimate was because of how many boxes we hadI told him *** the Excalibur agent had assured me that boxes weren't a problemMoe replied, "Oh, well they don't know what they're talking about." So clearly there is very poor communication between Excalibur and the movers they contract outOr more likely, the agents on the phone are intentionally UNDER-estimating the cost, knowing that by the time the movers present the final total, it's pretty much too late for the customer to back out
I also suspect *** was over-estimating the weight of the itemsHe lifted a large box of records and complained about the weight, saying that it must have been poundsI didn't argue at the time, but I knew he was exaggeratingOut of curiosity, I weighed the same box with my bathroom scale after the move was over, and it only weighed poundsSo it makes me wonder what ELSE he exaggerated in order to overcharge us
Oh, but it gets better! When I booked the movers, *** quoted us 10-days after pickup for deliveryWe knew that we would be arriving at our destination in days, so once we arrived, we'd only be without our belongings for 2-daysWell, guess what? We ended up waiting TWENTY-EIGHT daysFour weeksAn entire monthWe called Excalibur countless times to get an ETA, and they kept giving conflicting answers, like "5-business days" or "8-days" or "hopefully next week." Eventually they stopped picking up, because they recognized our phone numbers on their caller IDFinally they gave us *** personal number, and we started badgering him insteadNeither Excalibur nor *** took any ownership of the situationThey used phrases like "I'm sorry you've had this experience" or "I'm sorry you feel this way," etc
When the movers finally came, they offered no apology at allWe didn't argue; the damage was already done, and we were just relieved to finally have our things*** wasn't there this time; it was his partner from when they loaded the truck, along with a second guy whom they hired via Craigslist (seriously, they couldn't even spare two of their own guys?)When I mentioned how long we'd been waiting, he was candid and explained that nobody at American Family Movers really wanted to do our delivery because it was such a long distanceOh, well I'm sorry to inconvenience you, but you're A MOVING COMPANY! That's what you DO!
One of our side tables was ruined, probably from someone putting too heavy of a box on top of itAn expensive bookshelf had a huge chunk taken out of it because they decided to disassemble it but didn't know how toI guess it could have been worseFrankly, I'm amazed that everything made it here at allBut it could have been SO MUCH better
I would not use this company again in a million years, and anytime someone I know plans to move, I will be vehemently recommending them NOT to use Excalibur
Excalibur was contacted to pick up my belongings on the 20th or 21st of SeptemberThey did not show up
Excalibur was supposed to move my belongings on the 20th or 21st of SeptemberWhen they didn't show up, I called themThey said they confirmed with me for SaturdayI told them no one had called meWhen Saturday came around, I didn't hear from themI called themThe staff said the truck would be there by 1pmWhen that didn't happen, I called againI was told they were delayed in traffic and would be there tomorrow morning at At 9am Sunday, no moversI called againThe staff was rudeSo were the dispatchersI kept calling even though I couldn't get answersI disputed the charge on my credit card for fraud
