Gillece Services, LP Reviews (181)

Dear Revdex.com,Thank you again for allowing us to reply to this concern. As we stated in a previous response, our specials only apply to residential customers. It is clearly stated on our website. We do not guarantee a camera to everyone, the unit it self cost roughly $15,000 new, and its a risk we were not [redacted]ing to take. Mr. [redacted] had not informed the cusotmer that he must pay $8000.00. What he suggested was , that in fact if a priblem was found would the customer be intrested in going forward with the work. The customer said " only if your the cheapest price" At that time we did not feel the need to take the risk of damaging a cmaera in a commerical sewer line. The cusotmer paid for the snaking only, thats what we provided.

In regards to the complaint, we want to thank you for allowing us to respond.     I wanted to first point out that the customer was never charged for a camera service. Being that he is a commercial property (barbershop) he was charged a total of 164.00. $65.00 service fee (standard...

for all commercial plumbing calls) and $99.00 snaking.. We do reserve the right to camera a customers line, if we feel that it is not in the companies best interest. The equipment is very expensive, and the technician is responsible for his tools. The technician did stick the camera in the sewer line, and it was found that he was unable to get the camera thru the customers house trap.  At that point in time, the camera could not show a visible defect, as it was under water and the water was mainly sewage. It was explained to the customer that we could start with the house trap. The customer was given options verbally and ball parked and he declined service. The technician also reported that the customer informed him that he has someone who can do the work for a cheaper price. It appears price has a lot to do with his complaint, as he mentions it thru out.  Therefore the tech made a decision to not spend any further time with this particular customer and move on to a customer who has the need for our services. The published camera fee is $199.00. As the customer noted he was only charged $165.00 that was for the snaking and the trip fee. At this time we feel that we have provided the customer with as much educated information as we can. The specials that he is referring too are published on our website and are published for residential customers. When asked about the property the customer informed us that it is a residential property, therefore if he had provided us with accurate information the customer would have been informed of commercial practices. At this time we feel no refund is applicable as we restored flow to the drain.

Dear Revdex.com,thank you for allowing us to respond to this complaint. First I would like to point out that the customer is complaining in regards to the advertising issues in regards to the 99 snaking we offer. I would also like to point out that the customer made no attempt to contact the company...

in regards to their complaint to allow us to listen to his concern and see if we could resolve it for him. I would like to point out the following items in regard's to his concerns.             1 . He complains about the 99 snaking, but admits that we also replaced a faulty shut off valve. Our advertisement does not suggest we will replace a shut off valve and snake a drain for $99.00. Therefore the customer agrees that we performed more work than advertised. We also do not advertise that we remove toilets and supply parts for the $99.00 snaking.             2. It appears that the customer is more upset with the price of the service, which we gave to them upfront and offered 3 full days to cancel the work.             3. Due to the information the customer supplied and is referring to as a advertising issue, yet they confirm that we did snake the drain for $99.00 we ask that the Revdex.com review this claim and consider it fall under your price complaint category.

Dear Revdex.com,Thank you for allowing us to respond to the client concerns. My name is Tom E[redacted], Operations Manager with Gillece Services. We no longer advertise Same day service, the client called in after 130 pm on the day she requested service. We were unable to meet that request, and as a...

customer service gesture we waived the fee for snaking..  We informed the client we would come out to do the service for no charge. We are doing our best to get a plumber out to her home, but we are restricted to after 430 service for this client. He response is , no normal person is home during the day. We could have got numerous plumbers out to her thru-out the day. So her suggestion of 38 hours is not accurate. At this point we feel that its best the client looks for another plumber who can meet her needs in a more timely manner. We do apologize for her inconvenience.

I am not completely satisfied with the Company’s responses. Especially with the condescendence which is transparent from this responses. Therefore, here are facts:Fact 1. Gillece indeed delivered the filters yesterday. Yet, they do not comment on the fact that I solicited these filters for 3 months (I have a flow of text messages with Mr. [redacted] dated stating from May 15) and the response to my requests was always temporization. The company should apologize for this. Is there a consequence? Administrative sanctions? Reimbursement of our monthly fees that we paid without receiving the requested service?Fact 2. We agreed that we should schedule a manufacturer’s rep inspection. Again, we discussed this with the Gillece personnel in May and nothing happened until we pressed again in July. It is true that due to unforeseen circumstances, we needed to cancel the appointment scheduled for August 6. But no other action has been taken from Gillece since. Again, “eager” does not exactly characterize the response from the company, which needed 2months to schedule the appointment. And again, is there any consequence for this?Fact 3. Three months after the installation, when the heater was not functioning properly, Gillece installed the outside thermostat which they forgot to install back in September. A fan was not installed properly and we have documents to prove all this. Altogether, these demonstrate negligence during the installation process, which the company took quite a while to identify and correct. They never assumed all these faults. For instance, for three months, we had to pay electricity bills which were 3x the normal bills for the similar months because they did not installed the thermostat. No reimbursement was provided.Fact 4. Before getting this installation by Gillece, we never had problems with the previous one. The caveat is that the previous installation was properly calibrated for the house. We have conclusions from an independent company stating that the new system is not properly tailored for our house.Fact 5. The duct issue is not true. We did not change the ducts recently. We did not change the windows. The summer was relatively mild. Yet, our electricity bill is up and the house is too warm. Fact 6. We were not “given numerous options to correct the one room that he is complaining about”. We’ve been told to start the fan (more electricity costs), to change the windows (more costs), to install a portable AC in the attic (more costs). We paid >$13,000 for this work so one would expect the new system to function at least at the parameters of the old one. Needless to say that one would expect the new systems to be more cost-effective, energy saving. Does Mr. E[redacted] agree with this last statement? Did they consider it when they installed our system? I have second opinion from experts saying no.We are equally eager to solve these issues (we just got a new electricity bill which is >$20 compared to the similar period last year). Also, we still expect reimbursement for the Gold membership that we paid for nothing to Gillece during the last year and ending just hiring and paying an independent AC company to investigate into the problems related to Gillece work.
Regards,
[redacted]

I have read their response and once again it seems like they are scamming us, I seen the copies of what they sent yet I have in my possession from them a certificate stating 10 year parts AND Labor warranty from them, I just do not seem to understand how there can be so many different warranties on the same product, I do understand there are manufacturers warranties and company warranties but how can I have a certificate from them stating 10 years yet they have written 5 years, again slick words and deception

My drain backed up a couple days later and I have found a certified Plummer who said the drain was not fully cleared because you did not use the house trap. [redacted] filed a false claim against my barbershop under the name [redacted] using his email address in retaliation for my claim against Gillece. His actions are very unprofessional, and shows his true character.

As a starting place in this matter, we view this matter as potentially involving defamation on the part of the customer and potentially on the part of individuals/companies in the heating and cooling industry based upon the comments made by the customer.  Accordingly, please have customer...

provide written information on the applicable customer's statements including "Later found out from their peers that they are one of the worst dealers in the area, and always in court" and "Buyer beware of this organization they came over to my house with a conman named Steve who is disguised as a technician with the purpose of conning me out of additional 9 thousand dollars.  Buyer beware Buyer beware, Buyer beware,Buyer beware,Buyer beware. Run from theses guys I am a retired sales rep and have never seen such unethical maneuvers." The warranty being referred to by the customer appears to be that of being through the manufacturer. If the customer paid $150 for filters and no longer wants them, we would, of course, refund the $150.

Dear Revdex.com,Once again thank you for allowing us to share the "truth of the matter"...  This complaint is invalid, the "customer" aka business owner was given the camera. while our plumber was there he informed the customer that he felt the trap was not in proper working order. he suggested that the customer start with either hydro scrubbing or replacing the trap. As the camera would not make it beyond the trap and it was under water and unable to see what exactly was going on.  The customer informed the plumber that he has a "guy" that us can use to do the work. At that point the plumber didn't feel the need to be there and packed up and left. To wrap this up, We snaked the line, we camered the line, the customer has another person he can use, would not use Gillece to perform any of the work. Wanted to use us for the free camera, that we did provide.  (it is also our right to refuse this service if we feel its in the best interest of the company). So basically this "customer" filed a complaint because we did not pin point the exact location of the problem so his handy man could illegally excavate the line. I say illegally because in Allegheny county a registered plumber is needed to perform plumber repairs and have such work inspected. We feel that we have performed the work that the customer paid for and therefore at this time we do not see the need for a refund.

Gillece Services did not and does not have an agreement/contract to do the applicable work as described by Mr. [redacted] in his Revdex.com complaint.Gillece Services provided Mr. [redacted] with options/solutions to take care of his concerns but he rejected all options/solutions.Accordingly, Mr. [redacted] to...

not pay any monies to Gillece Services for applicable work as described by Mr. [redacted] in his Revdex.com complaint. In turn at the applicable time, Mr. [redacted] appears to have hired our technician Bill L[redacted] by way of side work on Bill's own time.Mr. [redacted] rejected the services of Gillece Services, apparently hired our technician Bill L[redacted] by way of side work on Bill's own time, and Gillece Services does not have responsibility for the side work of Bill L[redacted].

[redacted] Gillece stated: [redacted] talked about what needed done they explanined what and how it was to be preformed. We went into the house after the problem was reviewed. I signed a legal and binding contract which states payment of $5000.00, upon completion. Gillece continues to Perjure themselves, saying I was not charged for [redacted]'s work. I sent them a copy of the invoice which clearly states what I was charged for. I will gladly send you a copy. One example of their faluty work is, they used fern-co to cover a broken pipe leading from the house to the clean out. Another example of there faulty work, is the proof from the sewer video preformed by [redacted], it clearly shows gillece did not make any type of connection to pipe from house to main sewer line. [redacted] had to redo the faulty work of Gillece. I waited with the man from [redacted], until the Inspection was done, then [redacted] filled the hole after it was cleared by the Health Dept.. Gillece continues to insist that there work was done to code. The only time an inspection was done was the work preformed in the basement. If there was a third party inspection in no way would they have been allowed to cover up such a Healh Hazard. Gillece has once again perjured themselves stating that there work was to code. Just as I did with [redacted], I stayed out side and wait for the inspection, no one came. The man simply covered the pipes with dirt. I have asked Gillece to send me a copy of the inspection, they still have not sent me a copy. Reason they have no such inspection. I ask the Revdex.com, to request a copy. I assure you Gillece will have a copy of the Basemenmt inspection, there is no such copy of the outside clean out inspection Gillece did not have one done. The reason may be they knew there work was not to code. Not sure? They have opened the door. They state the " Allegheny County Health Dept." inspected the work preformed, they did not. So far, all I am asking is for the restitution of the $5000.00, I had to pay [redacted] to redo gillece"s faluty work. I at this time am asking for a copy of the inspection once again! I also would like the Revdex.com, to request a copy as well. Gillece"s work was not done to code. Gillece did not at anytime use a sewer cam, they relied on pot luck to try and fix the plumbling issues, I am not sure if that was to increase there bottom line or what, all I know is when we contacted gillece my wife insisted on a sewer cam, when they came she repeated herself. Gillece has the audacity to say they gave us options, without a sewer cam they had no idea where or what the blockage would be. They can say it now because they have a copy of [redacted]"s cam. Without a Third Party inspection there is no way gillece can say there job was adequate and done right. Covering broken pipe with fern-coNo connection from clean out pipe to sewer lineNo third party inspection Gillece"s so called work is neither adequate nor done properly! I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards, I was told by the tech that the charge for the charge for the service was 165.00 which included the camera, not 164.00 that he stated which I [redacted] show on my receipt. When I made the service call I specifically requested a camera, if I was not charged for a camera why would the tech put such a expensive piece of equipment in the sewer line for free? He stated that the camera could not show a visible defect, as it was under water and the water was mainly sewage if this is true then my sewer line was still cloged which I found out on Jan 10 six days after the service my basement was full of water again due to the tech running the snake into a floor drain instead of the house trap. He stated the customer was given options verbally and ball parked and he declined the service why would he give a ball parked figure if the camera could not show a visible defect? I specifically told the lady on the service call that it was a barbershop that's why I was charged the commercial fee it clearly states on the building three generations barbershop. Again I don't see how you could ball park a amount if you could not show a visible defect. After this [redacted] calls me and said he would give me my money back if I took the complaint down. It would be great to get a refund but it's about the principal now not the money

Subject: ID# [redacted]To whom it may concern,In reference to the complaint that was received and assigned ID [redacted] we have researched on our end and a check was mailed to Mrs. Davis on 08/22/2016 for the reimbursement of overpayment paid. I have called her at [redacted] however no one...

answered. I have emailed her at [redacted] to follow up to make sure she has received the check that was mailed out. At this time this issue has been resolved and the payment has been made and mailed. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks,[redacted]Account Manager/Installation CoordinatorBenefit Plan Administrators, Inc.

I wanted to fill you in our my recent findings. I did a home visit today with the Attorney General’s office. Agent [redacted] was the attending agent. After reviewing the case and the video provided by the client and also by Gillece it was determined that the pipe in question was not our pipe, it was completely different pipe. The client had [redacted] replace existing pipe not done by us. I would ask that you please put this up for review with the board to have it not reflect a unresolved complaint, as the client provided you with false information. 1-      He claims not to have a septic tank2-      He said that [redacted] redid our work. When you look at the work in question you will see that the pipe in question is terra cotta pipe, beyond our PVC clean out repair. The camera now shows that the terra cotta has been replaced with PVC pipe. Video from [redacted] that shows terra cotta follow link….Link for Video   user name is  [redacted]                password is : [redacted] Gillece Video Shows PVC – client admits Gillece would have used PVC- Only work Gillece did on that section was raise up clean out. Therefore Gillece is not at fault for this work, as it was not related to the contract. We should not be held liable for this complaint.

Dear Revdex.com,thank you for allowing us to reply to this complaint. The customers only complaint to us after two weeks of installation was that they wanted their money back because they pay too much we offer to come back out for no fee to be look at the problem and the customer denied. We attempted to...

read look at the problem to verify that our repair was indeed the correct one. At this time we are unable to assist the customer as they only want a refund and one is to remove the parts we installed due to what they consider is a high price. The customer is beyond her three-day right of rescission in at this time unless we can not do anything.

As of this date,Tom E[redacted] nor anyone from Gillece has contacted me.I have tried several more time to talk with someone other than Tom E[redacted].they Even tried E-mail.His response to you again is a lie, about contacting us.As for saying tech wrote notes is not true.how can he explain $500 Gillece rebate and 5% off price purchase also on there, which was used. And how every year a had to pay for yearly check-up to keep warranty valid.

In regards to the [redacted] complaint we are in the process of refunding the 165.00 to him. Our customer service manager joe spoke to him and we have resolved our differences. Please reach out to him in a few days to verify the information. Thanks

Dear Revdex.com,  Thank you for allowing us to respond, we understand that there are 2 sides to every story. My name is Tom Eshenbaugh, operations manager with Gillece Services. I did speak to the client while Eric was at his home. I offered him a credit towards the replacement of the old unit. In...

this case, the clients motor failed. WE gave the client multiple options, however we did not do a repair of the motor under the first contract. We did however give the client the option to have the unit replaced, as we explained that due to the age of the equipment and the lack of maintenance it may be in his best interest. This would have corrected his concerns today. He however chose a lesser option, and the unit failed. At this time our repair worked, our parts did not fail, we feel that a refund is not the solution. We also feel that the repair that we made is working correctly. As the customer stated his motor failed, and we made no repair to a motor.

Gillece Services would like to have authorization from the customer to have have a senior technician and an employee with an engineering education and background to arrange a visit to the customer's residence to view and evaluate the retaining wall mentioned in the customer complaint.
