This company has unsavory business practicesThe appear to be cordial to get your information long enough to get your information and process without your prior knowledgeThen you become bombarded by telemarketers using a series of phone numbers, its most annoyingGive them one (star).Would not recommend this company to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calls at all times of the day from collections when I am told what I owe has yet to make it to collections?
I have been receiving a lot of collections calls at all times of the day the last two monthsI was finally able to pay last night during one of these callsMy fiance payed with a visa card on 2/29/I have yet to receive the receipt that I was told would be emailed to meBut due to past experience with this company I know that I need to have everything in writing

I am rejecting this response because:
Only if the refund is in a checkThe card used for that transaction has been cancelled to ensure that no further charges were incurred by Great American ReadersI will accept this refund in the form of a check

On November 1st, I received a call asking how I read (digitally or hard copy) I told them that I read everything on my phone and wasn't interestedafter he started talking, I asked who they were and the guy recited their missions statement instead of telling me what company he is calling forI like to help the companies that I have good experiences with so sometimes I will there customer service surveys-- which is what I thought was doingI was told that I can pick so many magazines and pay so much broken down into paymentsThe first being that day 11/1/and the second 12/1/they said that after that I wouldn't have to worry about paying anything for my year (It might have been year)I thought to myself I did just tell them I don't read the hard copies and I'm not interestedSo, I asked again "what are they calling for again?" and I got a fast talking schpeel stating that stats show that American readers are very low and dropping lower and lowerAGAIN not a straight answerBefore I know it I am getting asked to talk with a supervisor to state my experienceI didn't get to state my experience but I did get asked to go to coffee or something...YES that's right getting hit on!!! I was asked a series of question with yes or no answersWith every red flag that I felt, I still don't see how I didn't just hang upThese guys are good scammers; they know how to avoid saying things that can be used against them; they know what not to say and have been trained very well on how to keep you on the phone; they send you to someone with authority to ask all the questions that can be held against you-- I feel very violatedI was told they would mail a list of magazines that I could choose from, well I waited for weeks to lapse and still nothing!! I was also told they were going to email me everything they went over-- that hasn't came either! I wanted to call them to see where my stuff they promised was and I couldn't find any contact info, because I wasn't given any name, I didn't even know who to search on the internet!!! So I look one the Revdex.com for bad reviewsI can say I knew I got scammed by this point and even more so after I read people getting charged monthly, I panicked, I had to save that money for months because I don't have extra to spare with four athletic boys to raiseSo I cancelled my cardThey finally called me after they couldn't run my cardI told them to keep the money I gave them but I don't want anything from themthis lady started yelling at me, wouldn't let me answer, and was pretty much saying that I was lyingI knew I wasn't getting anywhere so I hung upSo here I am now: suckered out of $50+; no magazines; no gift card; getting hassled to pay for something I didn't even receive yet and its going on weeksAny way hope this helps some oneI am a single mom of four boys, this should documentedMy opinion is they are all criminals, and they will be in my prayers!!!!

On 12/7/I called to cancel the order for the mazganize for order number *** and the first person was okThe supervisor was not trying to help with the problem at allTelling me that I was not able to cancel the order and I had to let the payment keep coing out of my account and there was nothing they could or will do

This company GAR is a total scam .I'm getting magazine I never ordered and bills for third-party collection

When I was working in my workplace, I got a call saying that they have a good deal about magazine subscriptionIf I don't like it, I can cancel anytimeSo, now they asked for my credit card numberSo, I proceeded to give my credit card but before that I asked the agent to make sure that I can cancel the subscription anytimeThe agent said I can cancelThen, he charged my credit cardThe next day, I checked my account on my credit cardEverything was processed the way agent explainedSo, I got magazinesAfter days, I got first letter which states that I have to pay for monthsI was shocked and surprised because he didn't told me that the subscription is for that longHe told me that its only for a trialIf I like it, I can continue to be subscribedThen I went online and searched about Great American ReadersWhen I learned about the negative reports online, I immediately called them to cancel my subscription and they told me that it can't be cancelledThen, I said i

I was contacted by the business offering 250$ in gift cards and magazines of my choosing for a billing period of monthsI have been charged for two months and have not received the promised gift cards or any magazine that I selectedWhen I called and spoke with Tony, he stated that they have not received my "release form" to receive the gift cardsHe also stated that It could be up to days before I received any magazinesI told him that I am already receiving magazines just not the ones I selectedHe stated those are promotional magazines free of chargeI have not received any terms by mail or e-mailI requested a cancellation and I was then told by Lisa that I was passed my cancellation period which was in my agreement terms which I have not receivedI was willing too give them time to straighten this out but after their poor attitudes and rude, "That's just how it works" responses, I do not feel this company deserves my business
