This company advertised a magazine subscription for ebony, jet, rachel ray, and essence magazineI was not informed that I was paying a month for yearsI called the company to cancel and was told I could not and that I would be taken to collectionsI informed them in December that I did not receive any of the magazines I was paying for and only received the free promotional magazinesThey told me it takes a few months to startAs of today I did not get any of the magazines that were offeredMy husband called the company to inform them of this and they said it was my fault for not telling them I was not getting the magazinesI stopped payment in march after making months payments and not getting any of the magazines I was offeredI feel I was scammed by this company and they want me to continue to pay for a product I have not had deliveredThey gave me information on the cost of the productWhen trying to contact customer service to resolve these issues t

This company is not ethical in its practicesI called them several times about canceling my subscription and was told it wasn't possible, but they could lower my paymentsSo, I did that because I did get magazinesNow, some I hadn't ordered and I called them and again asked to cancel because I wasn't getting the other magazines I orderedEventually, I got the correct magazines but was still getting the incorrect onesI asked today if GAR is able to cancel the incorrect magazine, then why wasn't I able to just cancel as well? Then I found out they had duplicate orders, meaning they were taking money out TWICE a monthI happened to see that and meant to call them earlier but didn't so when I'm talking to the guy who claims he's a supervisor, but then reveals accidentally that he talked to HIS supervisor (after saying there weren't any) about canceling the duplicate orderHe claimed his IQ was and I told him IDGAF about that and it wasn't serving him any purpose anywayNonetheless, I'm surprised the Revdex.com hasn't handled this with all the negative complaints--isn't this what they're supposed to do? Surely there must be a remedy to shut this business downI read a review elsewhere where a person called their state's AG office and that remedied the problemI think I may try that as well and seek out other agencies, i.eFCC to see if I can cancel I'd give them stars if I couldOMT, I asked for a written contract and he said they only had recordings so when I told him I wanted to hear the recording, that wasn't an optionI asked him if I had a recording of all our conversations and there wasn't anything said about not being able to cancel, what would he do then? He said that it wouldn't be credible because my end could've been editedI think those recordings should be made available to the consumer When I looked through my email accounts today, I saw absolutely NOTHING from them, so they lied about sending me emailsNow, for the people who called their bank and turned off their debit card to GAR, what was the end result? Did your credit rating go down? Did they call collections on you? Because if nothing happened, that may be an option for me as well

Great American Readers promised a $gift card along with my subscriptionHowever, when I received the magazines, I did not receive the gift cardThey were taking out of my account every weekI tried to get in touch with some one from the company, but when I looked them up, it said that their location in Florida was no longer active, and that was where the magazines were coming fromI didn't find a phone number from them until just nowBut it was from Great American Readers in MN which was a surprise to meIf they are in MN, why am I getting magazines from Light House, FL? This business is running a scam operationI was contacted back in April and told the deal was only $for so many magazines for yearsNothing was said about it costing that much every monthWhen I received my second billing I called the company and was told I could not cancelThey offered me a discount of 50% for a month periodI then talked to my Regions Bank rep and was told they were not a good company at allWe cancelled my card and did reissue me a new accountI then called back and told the rep from Great American and was told again I could not cancelI informed her that I had cancelled my current credit card therefore no more payments would go throughShe refused to let me talk to a managerI just hung up and let it ride Linda *** *** ***

I subscribed to the service and then called back to cancel and they reduced it to $per month but once we realized all the magazines I cancelled the service by filling out the specific paperwork and they are still trying to bill my account even though I cancelled the subscription When I try to call them they are so rude and disrespectful, they even call my job and I let them know the above and they still are billing me This has been a very bad experience to say the least

This is a company that does not take no for an answer After tlking with them, I informed that I was not interested in their magazinesThe next thing I know they are taking $off of my debit card Now I have to go through the hassel of filing a fjust not rraudulent use dispute with my debit card companyIt wil be at least two months before I am refunded my money

Company uses information to sign people up for magazine services
Signed up with company for year subscription canceled after payments because was suppose to be Ended up having to cancel bank account to stop automatic withdrawlsWas told by company I could not cancel because when company called to update information later said it was an agreement to get more magazines and now had accounts instead of Constant harrassment of phone calls up to times per day from both company and collection agency both of which are very rude and disrespectful when trying to state my caseThe calls come from early morning until 9:at night

This company informed me when they contacted me , that for signing up I would receive 250$ worth of gift cards and a survey and I never received them and after attempting to contact the company they informed me there is nothing that can be done because it went to collections Their collections company are constantly calling and harassing me and it needs to stop ! I stopped making the payments because they made a fraudulent statement that wasn’t trueIt’s a scam! I want the account completely terminated and for them to stop calling meIt’s truly ridiculous that they can’t hold up their end of the offer and now I’m expected to just pay money when I didn’t receive everything I was supposed toAbsolutely notI was also informed by one of the collection agencies that this company is known for editing recorded calls so that it benefits the company and not the customer They have my personal information and this is unacceptable
