reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meThey reached me quite promptly and, while they were apparently confused as to why I was canceling before any payments were made, they cancelled the 'subscription' with minimal fuss and were very polite

After reading the other rewiews/complaints im sure im not going out of my mindMost of them say the same thing that happened to meI was told payments but when I called to cancel they told me it was paymentsGift cards never cameMagazines never cameThey said I had days after the first payment to cancelWhat company gives less time to cancel then to receive your first itemWhat a scam

I new representative took my order and charged my debit card before even agreed to the serviceI spoke with a Supervisor and was advised my order would be cancelledI only allowed the company to charge the initial charge since it was already doneI called today to make sure the orders going forward was cancelled and I spoke to Account Supervisor (Ricardo) #*** who was very rude and nasty and tried to place all the blame on me as the client and than refused to cancel the order This company has proven to me to be very misleading

I signed up with this company to purchase magazine subscriptionsThey set a payment date with me for the 10th of every monthThey took money out of my account on the 5th causing overdraft fees of $with my bankIn addition to the $they took out for their serviceI called to cancel my service and receive a refundThe manager (Robert) was very rude and yelling at me saying that He had to get information and do his job, but never took my information and then put me on hold for minutes before the call was disconnected

I was at work and received a call about a gift card that I won for entering something onlineI was like ok and gave them my info and they said they were going to send me magazines and that I could cancel at anytimeI tried finding information to cancel and they have no business info anywhereI noticed $coming out of my account multiple times and overdrafting my accountI cancel my card and got a new Then I started getting haraasing calls about not payingI told them I did not want the magazines and I went on each magazines website to have them not aend me the magazinesI have not received any more magazines but I just received a letter in the mail today saying Im going into collectionsI never had any written agreement to these magazinesThese scammers have been ruining peoples lives according to multiple complaints onlineI want my money back and my credit cleared

In April 2016, I received a call from a company named Great American Readers which offered a deal for a magazine subscription that would include a gift card and one month of free magazines
The company asked for my address and payment information, and shortly afterwards the phone call ended
In the following months, I noticed that four payments of $were taken out of my account on April 17, 2016, June 19, 2016, July 15, 2016, and August 15, 2016, from a company listed on my bank statement as "Readerssvc." I looked up this company online, and I discovered that this company was Great American Readers
I did not receive any magazines, so I immediately began to research Great American Readers and discovered that virtually every result listed on the Internet was about deceptive trade practices, fraud, scams, billing and collection issues, harassment, problems with receiving products, and issues with the products themselves

I had business with the Great American readers for one reason I was low income I was trying my best to move on and I came across Overture that said I would get $free for Walmart if I entered I never received a visa from Walmart for the hundred dollars but yet I am getting charged nearly $in late charges before this I had a call to cancel told him I never received the $and that I wanted to cancel but they said I couldn't my reason was I was almost on the street looking to friends to let me stay awhile was hard for me to buy my medicine by the way I have asthma which my medicine alone cost bucks and a pituitary tumor which my medicine comes to bucks on top of that I have other health issues struggling to get insurance and even a place to stay I visited the place I used to live at today and luckily they saved my mail and this is what I came across I am barely getting back on my feet in and out of ER and that alone is a debt I open this envelope that says Great American readers total amount due bucks to avoid be sure we receive your payment in the amount of only bucks to our office payment of will pay your account in full what does that mean but yet late charges $total amount due dollars this is outrageous I'm just getting back on my feet and this is what I come to I need $because I don't even have that if not I would have not looked for it I had to run out of food so many times and I figured $Walmart credit card for free would be so amazing but I was screwed over

I told them that I no longer wanted their service and was told that I didn't have the right to cancel at any point I called several times after the magazines still was being sent and received a notice of an over due billPrior to this bill , I have my credit card company decline and send a formal letter as to why this card would not honor an transactions with them but they still tried two months after I made them aware the I wished to cancel while my billing was up to date, this is very stressful, I have a strong headache so I don't want them to threat me as they said they will sent a debt collector on me

Great American readers baited me into an account that was supposed to send me magazine subscriptions and a $contract for $a month for months The gift card was not as promised (should have been a visa gift card and was actually just promtional mo ey at random businesses that I couldnt purchase anything at wothout spending even more money I didnt use any of them) I quickly realized that I did not want all of those magazinesAfter returning an invoice that told great american readers to cancel everything they continued to charge my credit card I cancelled the card and got a new ine They now call my mobile phone everyday and my sisters, [how they received that number is unknown]) They are threatening to keep calling and to send my account to collections even though I already paid more than a sufficient amount to cover all of the 1st year subscriptions before cancelling my cardThey will not help in any way and say that I owe them over $
