I've been trying to cancel the subscription with Great American Readers for months now, they refuse to let me get out of the subscriptionThey just say they can't do it, and when I tell them I'm not going to pay anymore they say they will send me to collection I have worked hard and finally got my credit score where I like it This started by me getting paper work in the Mail saying I signed up for magazines which I never did I canceled my card that day and filled out the slip on the back that said you have postmarked within business days to return this from the date of initial payment (which was never paid) I filled it out that day and mailed it inNow I am getting collection calls for these magazines that I thought was canceled within the days But they are saying they never received it so there for I owe it all full amount plus late fees $1, I even have a copy of the signed cancellation with date sent but they do not care I have called and spoke to them (Josh, A

extremely rude I got a call to join this subscription and when I tried to cancel they said I couldn't and that is I was trying to cancel they would notate the account and send me to collection immediately with more fees for over $on magazines! this was not what was agreed on their a total scam!

My husband gave this company his debit card number to order some magazines, not realizing he was getting himself into a subscription that was going to cost over $After making the first two payments and not being able to contact the company to have them stop sending magazines we went to the bank and cancelled that debit cad so they would stop charging usNow we are still receiving magazines all the time and getting letters saying we have late fees and they are sending him to collections if we don't give them over $I have tried looking for a website for this company and can't find oneWhen I look this company up I find pages of complaints about this company being a scam and the only way to get them to stop charging you is to change your credit card

I was originally contacted by this company under the assumption that I would be paying a one time charge for a set of magazines of my choosing from their listShortly after I was contacted again to renewAt that time I was receiving pretty much the amount of magazines that worked for our familyAfter the renewal of again what I thought was a few small payments I began receiving large amounts of unwanted magazines

This company is a complete scamI was contacted by two women over the phone who proceeded to tell me of this great offer for magazines at a low cost every two weeksThey also told me I could cancel at any timeTo make a long story short, I eventually had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because they kept charging my card when I no longer wanted their servicesThis did not stop them though! They sent me a letter shortly after in the mail stating I owe dollars, or they are sending this to debt collections! I was told that this was for every other month for payments and I ended up giving this company almost dollars for magazines for one year and then they said they would give me complimentary magazines They then wanted me to renew the magazines and take more every other week When I asked to stop the subscription, I was told I was unable to do that because it was past my time This is outrageous to pay for one year for the magazines And that I'm unable to stop it because most of them were not what I asked for, not do I read them

Some woman called with a threatening message and a phone numberThe biggest problem was she said it so fast I couldn't understand her name or phone number despite replaying the message many, many timesI have since contacted my bank to block any transactions with these scammers
