I received phone call that I had won gift cards and 5 magazines for onetime payment 49.90. Now charging me over $900. So back in January 2016 I received a call from great American readers that I had won $250 worth of Free gift cards and 5 magazines of my choice for a one time payment of $49.90. And that it would only cost like 3 dollars a week so I agreed to it. Never received my gift cards or magazines. Today I get a call and the guy tells me I owe another $49.90 by the 29th or it will go against my credit for $900 something dollars. I asked if I could cancel he did no because it had Been past 7 days. I explained what I had been told when I first agreed. He said they had to have told me because they read off a script. He was truly rude and started to call me stupid and said I was contradicting myself. So I hung up. Looked them up and saw someone who had been told exactly what they had told me. I want it resolved.

They scam you so badly

Company/Business sent my account to Collections, even after I tried to cancel the service (tried calling, then used a third-party cancellation service)Phone number was not accurate and after trying through the other service, company refused to cancel service I have seen from others that this company is scamming people and unwilling to work with customersI do not want this company's service at all, especially as it could (if not already has) ruined my credit

The phone salesman told me that I could trying these subscriptions, and then always call back and cancel at any time But when I called back in they just got rude with me and refused to cancel I just called back in today and tried again, talking to a Supervisor named Randie - she said "you pay your entire bill off, and then we will turn off the incoming magazines!" I am an disabled vet, and I do not have the money to pay them over $for something I can see the I don't need These people lie and they are rude!

I began what I thought was a month by month subscription to a magazine service for magazines in a monthMuch to my surprise I attempted to cancel after a couple months and was told I signed a contract, and that there was no way for me to discontinue the service
I canceled the card I had signed up with, yet the magazines and bills still came, even after I contacted the company and demanded cancellation
Today I received a notice that my account had been "turned over to a collections office"
I do not even want this service and have attempted cancellation, and now I am apparently on the hook for almost $I feel duped and harrassed, and I certainly never agreed to a contract

I have never been treated so rudely by a company before Customer service means nothing I called to cancel and was given the third degree I do not answer to the "manager" on duty He could not accept that I wanted to cancel I gave him my reason and he didn't want to accept it He continued to question me I called at 3:PM on 2-20-

I received a call telling me that I get a $gift certificateThen someone else got on phone and said all I had to do was purchase magazines for about $ I then checked on the company and realized that they are a magazine company and were using the gift certificate to sidetrack meI did not receive any gift certificate nor did I recieve magazinesI tried to cancel and I was told I can't cancel and I owe almost $ I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AND I TRIED TO CANCEL WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK AND THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME I CAN'T CANCEL!

I am in the process of contacting a lawyer because of GAR! This company is a complete scam and they are a bunch of liars! I was told I would be paying $for months...Not Freaking 20!!! That was why I agreed to the stupid terms...because they completely mislead me!!!! The guy at first was friendly and a smooth talker but don't fall for it! When I returned their call, I was met with a very rude and unprofessional person named Matt! He tried to belittle me and threaten me! The only reason I'm contacting a lawyer is to see if I am able to cancel this bogus subscription because I'm going to an undisclosed location and will not benefit me in the futureNow maybe if they didn't lie and treat me like poo, I would have considered keeping the damn thing!!!!

I was told I would receive a dollar gift card after I ordered my magazines which I never receivedI also received the form to cancel within days a week after the day period had expired, not to mention I didnt even know this form existedThe magazines have not all come only a few of themI canceled my card once I found they wanted to charge dollars to me or send it to collectionI never signed any contract or agreed to a any binding contract over the phoneI should be able to cancel a magazine subscription whenever I want and not receive any more magazinesI feel as though I was scammed and misinformed

In early or mid October I somehow got tied up in a redirect from a Facebook link that said I had won gift cards I was unable to actually get out of the web page, provided contact info (stupidly, should have shut the phone off) to get out of the web page Was contacted by a reader's service I can't recall the name of and told to get my gift cards I needed to subscribe to magazines While terms were outlined and agreed to, I was told that I would get a confirmation package in the mail and using the order number could make changes to my magazines For four months (November, December, January, February 2017) I have been charged $per month (under the name "READERS SERVICE LIGHTHOUSE PO FL") for magazines I never read them, just throw them out every month I wanted to cancel but could not find any contact information online for them When searching for "READERS SERVICE LIGHTHOUSE PO FL" I could only find some listing stating it was a closed business in the state of FL N
