These people a frauds,phonce calls trying to collect on ILLEGAL CONTRACTSWill not cancel but will threaten collections.Had to call publishers direct
I tried to cancel within the day period and they threatened me into giving them my credit card informationI know now that in the state of california the statute of frauds protects us consumers from frauds who try and trick you into a year contract with over dollars costIn california you need a written and signed contractThese frauds use high pressure sales tactics and are deceptive

I had signed up, was told that I had to pay up to a certain amount for a certain amount of timeI have done that, but I am still receiving around 8-magazines a monthI have called countless times to cancel only to have them tell me they have to extend it for a certain time then it would be cancelled and I will no longer receive magazines anymoreI am to the point that I never want to see a magazine again after dealing with this company for over yearsThey refuse to cancel my subscription or give me a refund for that matter, stating that the magazine's have already been paid for in full, they even threatened me and said I couldn't cancel, forcing me to change my credit card numberMy complaint is I just simply do not want to receive magazines anymoreI don't even want a refund at this point and I'm not even sure if I could be refunded any moneyI just want the magazine's to stop

I never authorized a magazine subscription from this company and started receiving an extreme amount of themThey continued to call my home phone which I rarely used and to get them off my back I authorized a $payment and told them to stop sending themI continue to get them and now they are threatening to send me to a collection departmentI do not read magazines and never would have authorized this purchase

I received a phone call one day saying that I had won a $gift card and at first I said no and they kept pushing for me to get some magazinesWell I was told it would only be $and some change so I was like sure why not so once I gave my card information they said ok I will be charging $to your accountI told them right then I didn't want to do that and he said he had already charged me for itIt took months to receive the first magazine and once I noticed that they were charging me $every time I went to my bank and had my card canceled immediatelyAnd now I keep getting letters in the mail telling me I owe for thisI have called multiple times to cancel and they won'tI asked to talk to a manager and they said that no one in the building could cancel the accountI'm done with this crap

I called Great American Reader on May to explain to them that I wanted to cancel services because I am no longer employed due to my Lupus had gotten worst and I wasn't able to work any longerI was told I wasn't able to cancel my subscriptionsI made a complaint with the Revdex.com at that time,I was called back by the company the same day and was told that my subscriptions would be cancelled and no further charges would be madeI just happened to check my bank account today and noticed that I was still charged $for May, June and July I called Great American readers today they say they have no records of any phone calls that I made or that was made to me on May Today I am requesting a refund for May, June and July and NO further charges

I was called over the phone to setup up the service on a sales callI was informed that I would be receiving a cancellation letter in the mail within the next month to give me a chance to cancel the service If I was not pleasedInstead, I was mailed a letter for payments onlyWhen I called them over the phone to cancel they stated they emailed meHowever, I checked inbox and it was never receivedThey refused to let me cancel the service over the phone even after I spoke to a supervisor
Now they have sent a bill for the full $for a subscription that I was never given a fair opportunity to cancel I only want to pay for the one month of magazines received
My credit score is important and I have a great payment history thus far and now they have reported this balance to a credit collection agencyI am very dissatisfied with this company

Finally due to the fact that this company has repeatedly to harass me and my fiance and family my fiance picked up the phone to find out who it was and asked if they could leave a message they said that she knows who is calling for her and why and he asked again if they could leave a message in regards to what and they hung up on him and so he called back to have them speak to a supervisor and they hung up the phone again he called about or times to speak with somebody and they kept hanging up the phone and then we try to call the Revdex.com and Minnesota as well and they gave us the contact information to believe this complaint I just want my number taken off their list I want my subscription cancelled to them and with them and I don't know how they have my credit card information in the first place and as well I even tried keeping it in the beginning and getting different magazines and they still never sent me out the right magazines plus they keep calling my mom's ho

I signed with this company and am being charged $49.90/month for month I just paid my 8th monthI was sent a letter to call them about my account Jerry wanted to inform me about an increase I told him what my agreement was and instead of saying, "yes, that's correct." he said, "I know what your agreement is" - that's a little rude Then he mentioned something about months and when I interrupted him he became ruddier with me I insisted that I was the customer and he should hear me out but he kept talking and talking I became very irate and asked to speak to a supervisor He told me he was the supervisor which I find hard to believe After a lot of yelling I decide to hang up If they think I am going to pay penny of the months they are sorely mistaken Please do not bother using this company Their customer service is by far the worst I have ever experienced!

Great American Readers is a scam and should be prosecuted for fraud

Never have I had a problem with a company in my life that can not be resolved I take care of my credit and this company called me to purchase a subscription which I did based on the information agreed on that day I was told I would get a $gift card that I did not receive till this day I was told I would receive documents in the mail within days which I did not and everytime I call they just say I will be sent to collections with more added fees for over dollars nothing on what was agreed over the phone the day of purchase I am so displeased and if I cant resolve this with them I will have to escalate this because I will not allow my credit to be affected based on a company that is scamming peopleI can pay my bills and for them to tell me im just trying to get out of paying a bill and getting hung up on is not ok because if im not receiving what was promised why am I paying for iti have no account number or anything other than a list of magazines they offer ive tried call

I was called from Great American Readers month ago and offered a cheap subscription of just over $a week so about dollars and change a month for magazines of my choiceWith the offer I was also going to be given a dollar gift card in the mail for subscribing to their company for what I was told at first a yearNext thing I know I see an initial "down payment" of charged on my card and immediately called them to ask about itThey replied that under contract I agreed to the 1st payment of to cover the month because my bundle was X amount of magazines for yearsI told them I did not wish to receive magazines for that long and the info was not clearly stated (that is not 14) to me when I subscribedWhen asking if I could cancel the service due to inability to pay that much they offered a smaller bundle and said it would arrive in weeks with my magazines and I need to sign my email in a form being sent out before I can receive my gift cardThe subscription

In February of I agreed to a trial subscription with the company Great American Readers I was telephoned by a sales representative to receive five magazines for a total of $a month for one year During the months of November (2016) to January (2017), I noticed my credit card being charged twice each month from the company In December (‘16) and January (’17), I was charged $on my cardI called my credit card company in order to stop these fraudulent charges that were being made by this company My bank investigated the charges, and it came out to be the company’s errorA billing error of $628.80! In February of 2017, I received a letter from Great American Readers and spoke to a manager stating my account was closed
Then in May of 2017, I received a notice from Great American Readers that I owe their company $ I don't understand how I owe them money when my account was closed back in FebruaryThe company continues to send magazines and I continue

In August-September 2015, I was solicited by this company promising a $gift card for purchasing some magazine subscriptions They began sending magazines and withdrawing $monthly from my checking account I have never received the promised $gift card My financial situation became dire shortly afterwards and I contacted them and spoke with a customer service rep who told me that they could not stop the subscriptions or the automatic withdrawals from my account I contacted my bank who told me they could not stop payments on these withdrawals I called Great American Readers again this evening to again request they stop sending magazines (they have even been sending me duplicate subscriptions and charging me) and to request they stop the withdrawals The service rep threatened me with collections and litigation and told me that the only way they would stop withdrawing money is if I closed my bank account and, even then, my account would be sent to collections
