Dear Revdex.com, In response to this matter, our investigation has determined that Mr***'s complaint is against an independently owned and operated franchise office, which has the responsibility to resolve matters directly with your office and with the client.H&R Block
prepares millions of tax returns each year, and if we do make an error, we are committed to making the situation right. It is H&R Block Franchisee, *** ***'s belief that she has done so in this case by amending the tax return to accurately reflect the appropriate information and asking the IRS and the state of *** to abate the penalties and interest that have been assessed to Mr***At this time Ms***'s office is working with Mr*** to complete the needed paperwork to ask for the abatement. In resolution of this matter, H&R Block is currently in the process of assisting Mr***. We will continue to correspond with Mr*** in attempts to reach a mutually acceptable resolution. We ask that the Bureau note our current efforts to resolve Mr***’s complaint Sincerely,*** ***Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Dear Revdex.com,While we regret any confusions or misunderstanding of the tax preparation services Mr*** *** may have experienced, our review of the matter reflects that his situation was handled correctlyWhen H&R Block prepares and electronically files returns, paperwork is
not sent to Federal or State on behalf of clients, as it is not needed except in cases of filing an amended returnThe return in question was an original filing. The Office M***ger, *** ** ***, contacted Mr*** *** to explain that he did not have a W-for us to send in and that the State return was filed electronicallyAs Mr*** *** insisted that Ms** *** contact the State on his behalf, she informed Mr*** *** that in order to contact the state, she needed him to be present in the office and that she was willing to set an appointment for him to come inMr*** *** declined the offer. Although H&R Block is not at liberty to refund Mr*** ***'s tax prep fees, as a gesture of good faith we would like to offer him a gift certificate for a discount of tax prep fees for tax year 2015.As a result, we consider this matter resolvedWe respectfully ask the Revdex.com to close this case. Sincerely,*** ***Associate Business ***lystH&R Block

I am rejecting this response because:I informed the H&R Block preparer immediately upon receiving the 4/notice & brought her a corrected *** sent us after we filedThe tax preparer did not file a correct return--which is why HR Block refunded preparation fees--& she didn't inform me when I personally brought in the 4/notice !& she filed a "practice" form not eve in HR Blocks data fileThis resulted in great distress & hardship for us when we received a bill for $in JuneAgain I went in right away to their year round office and spent an hour & a half with an HR staff person & the IRS trying to figure out where their bill, inclusive of penalty & interest we maintain should be reimbursed via thePeace ofMind policy we purchased for $way back in April before this mess occurredJust because their own staff didn't inform us in a timely manner of the need to file for a refund isn't enough to deny usI had to pester them to even file a request with HR Block !& theHR Block year round office manager didn't even outfit me of the need for a copy of the 4/letter until near the end of July! Shirking responsibility isn't appropriate customer service &, after years of patronage, we will never go to Hr Block again nor recommend them after this fiasco

I am rejecting this response because:I mailed in all the proper paperwork per *** and left numerous emails telling her I never received my refund and she never respondedAn advocate for HR&Block needs to get this resolved with the IRS and get my refund!
On Feb 19, 2016, at 1:PM, ***, *** *** wroGood afternoon, ***I finally got thru to an IRS Agent who was able to give us all the information that we needIRS finally processed the Amended Return for on March 31, - I know months after we did itThe problem is, IRS never made the corrections on their endSo, we need to resubmit the Amended with a letter indicating that the corrections from the Amended Return are not being reflected on your Account Transcript and that this needs to be correctedWe also need to include that this Amended Return was originally submitted in a timely manner, therefore, the refund on the Amended Return in the amount of $must be refunded to you with interest, as well as, the $that they took from your Tax Return Refund must be refunded back to you with interest. The IRS Agent I spoke to today, did fax the Account Transcript to us so we can see that the changes from the Amended Return are not being reflected on IRS' endI know that you said that you guys movedCan you verify your new address so that I can send you the information to be signed and sent to IRS?

I am rejecting this response because:The fact of my complaint is that H&R Block overcharged for services providedThis was confirmed by their staff. The amount charged did not reflect services received. Can they show that $is their current billing rate for ONE W2?Poor service aside, the fact remains I was overcharged I request a refund in the amount over-billed: $ If they want to settle for another amount, I would accept the lowest amount of $

I am rejecting this response because: While I appreciate Ms*** contacting me, I have been unable to respond as I recently received a promotion at my current place of employment and have been in constant training for weeksThis still does not resolve the same issues I have with the other H and R Block Offices who filed my taxes and again, I was audited, fined and paid dearly in feesMy question is, are these other offices independently owned as well, and why has no one contacted me from these offices? What I am asking for is a WRITTEN explanation from each and every H and R Block Office that has done my taxes, where I have been audited, to also guarantee me I will not receive any more surprise penalties, fees and payment demands from the IRS in the future

I am rejecting this response because: As I previously submitted, H & R Block is providing information to Revdex.comNo one from corporate has contacted usThere has been ZERO contact whatsoever since our meeting with the local rep many weeks agoI do not know who they are referring to when they say they have been in contact with us,but they have never contacted either my husband or myself, not email or cell phoneWe already acknowledged that we purchased the assurance with the returnWe were requesting assurance for the amended returns they did for usAs of yet they have failed to respond to this request. Again H & R BLOCK HAS NOT COMMUNICATED WITH US IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER! To tell the Revdex.com they they have is an outright lieI would request copies of phone calls or emails from them to support their claims.

I am rejecting this response because: due to HR Block negligence, my which should have been processed July of was outstanding and pending action for over monthsI find it unacceptable that a reputable business such as yours could be so careless costing me months of worry and financial burdenNot only was your performance sloppy and careless, but you treatment was offense and unprofessional when Erick only returned one of messages I would leaveWhen he did reply he basically evaded my questions and said he would address my concerns but never didA $refund will not suffice, given the time that has passed and your quality of performance, negligence, and customer care I will accept a full refund only to resolve this matterIt is the least you could do considering your service not only failed in completing the task at hand, but how my urgent financial needs and I personally have been treated.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:We have never held a *** ** *** bank account, which is what H&R Block is claimingStated in the recent H&R Block rebuttal on Feb 10, 2016, Ms*** states that we have a *** ** *** bank account and that "the same bank acctinformation has been used for the direct deposit of the IRS refunds for the years 2012, 2013, and 2014, which is the *** ** *** information." The attached documents in this rebuttal show that our 2012, 2013, taxes done by H&R Block have our *** ** *** account information, not *** ** *** as Ms*** is claiming.Attached is a voided check showing our *** ** *** account number and routing number. If you take a look at our tax information (attached; the 2nd page; circled in red)-- the tax infoshows the same account and routing number for our *** ** *** accountThe same goes for our tax information, which is attached (2nd page; circled in red)For the tax records--attached (2nd page; circled in red) shows that the routing number is wrong, and the account number is correctThis is what we have been saying all along, that their associate as she admitted, used the wrong routing number to file our tax returns for 2014---we have never received our return, nor have we held a *** ** *** accountSo far we have not seen any supporting documentation for the claims given by Ms***. Attached:*** ** *** voided checktax records (pages long) - shows our bank acctinfotax records (pages long) - shows our bank acctinfotax records (pages long) - shows our bank acctinfo
