I previously used this company with a promo code. I was happy with the product, and did plan to use the company again to order meals. However, I placed my account on "pause" and waited until I had a busy week to order.
This morning at 6:30 am I received an email that my order is out for delivery. I did not place the order, I did not cancel the "pause" on my account, I was not given the opportunity to choose my meals, or given an invoice. I received no notification from the company prior to the shipping notice.
Aside from the obvious fact that I did not request or order these meals, my card was charged without my knowledge. I was not home to accept delivery. I also have a family with allergy concerns, so I would not have ordered the meals delivered.
I emailed the company immediately asking to cease the charge and the delivery. I got an email back basically saying "[redacted] [redacted]". I called the customer service, and they gave me a run-around of excuses, and offered me a credit towards another box. I don't want the credit. I want my $69.00 back.
I would not recommend this service to anyone.

When I first signed up for hellofresh I thought is was a cool thing that you get means delivered to your home that you can cook for your family weekly. When I decided to subscribe to hellofresh my delivery never came. I called 2 days later and customer service told me they tried to deliver the food but I didnt have a door man, which is nonsense because I indicated specifically that I do not have a door man and I live in an apartment building. My packages could have easily been deliver and simply chose not to give me what I payed for. the representative then told me that she would make a note on my delivery information to ring my door bell since someone is always home. My package was supposed to arrive 3 days later and It never came. I called again only to find out my account information was altered and my information could not be found. When the problem was finally resolved the representative told me my package was damaged on the way to my home.

I have reason to suspect HelloFresh tried to scam me and lied about ever even trying to delivering my package and made it seem as if I was never a customer to begin with. I will not use HelloFresh ver again and will highly recommend no one use HelloFresh for meals.

I signed up online with this business. After a period of time, I went online to cancel. A month later they sent another food box that I did not expect or want. I went online to cancel again. Then, today I came home to another food box. At $69 a box, it was an unhappy surprise. HelloFresh refused to refund any of my money and kept repeating that the entire situation was my fault. I found their website to be confusing and the language misleading on how to cancel.

I would be very careful before starting a subscription with this company.

I apologize that you are unhappy with our decision but again, we could not have charged and account we were not authorized to charge because we do not have any information other then the information provided. We are a subscription service that outlines our billing policies and cut offs. I have also attached the final check out page that explain when we bill and when you need to pause or cancel by. Also in the "managing my account" video on pausing it explains that every green box is a date that you can pause. We try very hard to make our subscription as flexible as possible within the confines of our terms and conditions. I am very sorry that [redacted] is not being of more assistance but we cannot issue any further refunds then we have already done. We apologize for this inconvenience.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is amicably.  Their resolution was to split the difference of the cost and refund half of my payment.  While this is not ideal, it was at least an effort to help remedy the situation.  It is a shame that it took several phone calls, tweets, and complaints to get the refund.  The amount of labor hours and overhead spent dealing with me cost them way more than the amount asked to be refunded.  I guess some companies choose to step over a dollar to pick up a penny.  My hope is that moving forward HelloFresh is more upfront about how their subscriptions work, and not bury it in the bottom of a very long email that will likely end up going directly to spam, like mine did, and the client will never see it.

On 10/*, one of the customer care agents helped the customer and cancelled the last order.  She should have received a refund within 3-5 days of that interaction.  This case is closed.

I have been a Hello Fresh customer for almost a year. The food selection and quality are always excellent. The recipes and preparation truly are 30 minutes which is helpful for a busy family. I have only had one issue with a delivery, no fault of Hello Fresh. [redacted] delivered a day later than expected. I called customer service and told them my concern that the meals had sat over night at a warehouse. They immediately offered to replace anything I felt need to be and gave me a $10.00 credit for my next meal box.
