Zero stars if I could. Was trying all the meal delivery services to see which I liked best . Hello fresh is the only company that charged me & sent a box after I cancelled my service . Tried to reach out to customer service to handle & was offered no type of resolution . They shipped my a box of recipes I didn’t ask for not order & then would not give me my money back . Don’t give these people your credit card info. They will use it without your consent

I received an email from HelloFresh in response to my Revdex.com complaint. They were not helpful, took absolutely no responsibility for stealing my money, and offered me no refund of my $69 that they took from me without my permission. They did not acknowledge their unethical business practice of shipping and mailing food to me after I cancelled my subscription because the food was terrible or their email scam which billed me for food against my wishes. The only response that I am interested in hearing from HelloFresh is acknowledgement of a full refund to me for $69 and hopefully an apology for how they treat their customers. Thank you Revdex.com for your help.

If you like being charged without knowing you signed up for a subscription when you only wanted to try a box and not to mention the overpriced food, poor customer service and damaged goods then read no further. This whole thing started with a Groupon. I thought it sounded like a good deal so I decided to try it. When I received the box I was excited, until I opened it.
The ingredient boxes were packaged upside down and the vegetables were bruised and broken, the freezer packs had slid to one side of the box leaving a package of ground beef uncovered and warm when I picked it up. All of the freezer packs were thawed and busted open oozing gel all over the place. It made a mess on my kitchen floor. After sending at least 5 emails and several Facebook private messages about my, for lack of a better description, poorly packed box I was more than disappointed in the lack of response. Then a week later a box showed up on my doorstep. There had been no communication regarding the delivery. I assumed it was to make up for the first box. In this second box two of the ingredient boxes were still packed upside down and 3 of the 5 freezer packs were busted but still partially frozen. The insulated packaging was different in this box and seemed better. All in all a lack luster experience on, now, two boxes. I appreciate the free box as compensation but I would have also appreciated some communication. What if I had been out of town? Then the next week I was charged $105 for another box. I had not signed up for a subscription and I had to contact customer support (at this point I went with the online chat, it was much faster) to have it refunded and cancelled.
Overall the concept is good, definitely lacking customer service, though pricey and disorganized. All of the ingredients are portioned out and aside from some chopping and the actual cooking there isn't much else. The quantity of meat is less than I would have liked (for a family box) and they use a lot of grains and onion to bulk up the final portions. The meals are probably better for someone that doesn't really care about meat that much. The recipes take longer than the cards say, which is usually 30 min. As someone who has cooked my entire life some of the directions didn't make since or seemed out of order, but that's just me. But if you are desperate to not go grocery shopping and plan a meal then this works. Two of the original meals we had tasted good, the beef burritos (which I had to supply my own meat for since the raw meat package was warm) severely lacked cheese and if I had used the original amount of meat supplied would have not even come close to filling the 12 tortillas included. I only filled 8 tortillas. And the amount of onion that was called for would have basically given you onion burritos with a bit of meat.
We ordered the family size boxes since there are three of us. These in no way would have fed a family of four unless you REALLY like bulger wheat and onions. There is lots of grain filler. The pork dish fed the two of us with a few bites for my son and a very small container of leftovers. The BBQ chicken was quite tasty but only enough for the three of us with an entire container of pasta left over (filler). And we ate quite a bit of it.
I sent a free box to my mom to try out. She said it came packaged OK. Then a week later she was charged for another box. There they go again sneaking in the subscription she didn't order. We had to go through the process, again, of getting a refund and cancelling the account.
I wouldn't say the experience was horrendous but it wasn't pleasant, either. The program definitely is not worth it to me and I would definitely not recommend it to someone.

subscription service so you do no have to "order" boxes once you sign up. As long as your account is active you will receive shipments unless the dates are paused. Also, in you pause confirmation email we do inform you of your next delivery date. If you watched the cancellation email you would have seen that to complete the cancellation there is a mandatory survey and that once you hit confirm you will get a confirmation email. If that email was not received then the cancellation is not complete. Again I am sorry if there was a step missed and the cancellation was not confirmed but the video does make it clear how many steps there are and that there will be an email. We were not contacted about the confirmation email not being sent. Your account is now cancelled, a total of $103.50 has been refunded to you, and I have ensured you are off our email list. I am sorry this was not an enjoyable experience for you.

Hello Fresh was extremely difficult to cancel through their website. You have to call to release your contract and when you do they put the hard sell on you. HARD sell. I'm in sales so I respect anyone's attempt at retention but every step of the way they have been aggressive. They then used my cell to repeatedly solicit me to come back even after saying NO they were unrelenting and didn't remove me from their call list until after 3 requests. Not only that, but I have been trying to get OFF of their email list and every time I try to unsubscribe their website is down. This is starting to not feel like a coincidence. I would never go back to this company nor should anyone.

I have been using Hello Fresh on a regular basis since the middle of November 2015. The first time I used them was because I had a coupon for a free box - 3 meals for 2 people, that is what I got and it was delicious! Before I even received that first box I had paused my meals for the following week but un-paused them as soon as I made my first meal. I have received nothing but fantastic customer service, communication and unbelievably fresh, wonderful meals. I have referred friends that have begun to use Hello Fresh as well and they have had a positive experience as well. I came here to write this because I recommended Hello Fresh to a friend but that friend said they saw some negative comments here on this site. I know that folks are more likely to complain when they are upset than they are to give praise when they are happy with something.

choice is only available for classic box subscribers. It states this in our FAQ's. The first box that was delivered had meal choice made by you. One of the agents was incorrect, you did not get the Chefs selections which is the chicken, beef, and seafood/fish option. You chose the seafood, pork, and veggie meals. Classic box subscribers always have access to at least 1 vegetarian meal. This may be where the confusion was. All 3 meals are shipped at once and in the same box. There is no where on our website that indicates that meal choice has anything to do with getting a box. At checkout we inform you we are a reoccurring subscription and if you do not pause or cancel by the Wednesday the week before your next delivery you will be getting a box on the chosen delivery day every week. It is unfortunate that you did not make meal choice for your second box which will be our Chef Selections, however, we have not made any error here. The account is for a classic box, the meal choice was made by you, and you would have gotten a confirmation email confirming those choices as well. The account was not cancelled by our cutoff. The first box was delivered on 6/** which is a Tuesday and it was well within the time we could have cancelled the subscription or changed it to a veggie box. However, your email did not come until Sunday 6/** which was too late for us to make any changes. For these reasons, we cannot issue a refund for the box. What I can do is add to the credit originally offered as a courtesy and change the subscription to a veggie box. So I will put the value of the 2 non-veggie meals you got with the first box to your HelloFresh account and change the cancelled subscription from a classic to a veggie so should you choose to use your credit you will be getting a veggie box with $46 of credit applied to it. I am sorry that I cannot do more and I do understand your frustration but again, HelloFresh did not actually make an error here.
