Stephen did my 6 month service today. He was on time, clean, friendly, and professional.

Phil P. from Honest Air Conditioning of Venice is fantastic. He came to office and was able to diagnose and fix problem where others could not. He did this in a very timely matter and I am confident that this problem has been resolved. Thanks Phil.

Arrived on time, very thorough and courteous technician.

Responsible, responsive and professional group.

Company installed new AC system - air filters will not stay in place. Last tech caused leak in irrigation system. Charged for air filters not received
New AC system was installed in home. The system is not placed correctly because air filters become sucked up into system and will not stay in place. Have called for years now and had numerous tech visits with no resolution. Last visit, our irrigation line was hit and we had standing water around our outdoor unit. Didn't notice for days because tech didn't mention anything. Charged for filters which were not what I wanted and I didn't received them. Have asked for a refund more than once. My power bill increased after the new system was put in. Very disappointed in this company and the lack of customer service.

Desired Outcome

I want the system replaced with a system which will accept regular, pleated air filters like our old system. I also want the irrigation line repaired which was damaged on the last visit (12/13/17). I also want a refund for the air filters which were never received

The following is the equipment history for this customer. We installed a new system through the Federal Government's Weatherization Progrem in November 2012. Under this program guidelines, we are also required to install a custom made high efficiency electrostatic air filter. We were called for service on 9/16/2016 and found a bad circuit breaker which the customer declined our repair and said they would replace the circuit breaker themselves. Our technician noted that the customer requested to take out the electrostatic filter and replace it with a throw away type rather than having to wash the electrostatic filter. On 10/4/2016, we delivered a throwaway type filter and installed it at No Charge. On 12/13/2017, we performed the second maintenance (in 4 years), and the customer complained that the filters are constantly getting sucked up into the air handler. My technician recommended a custom made metal frame with disposable air filters to solve the problem for a cost of $130.00, which she agreed to and paid for. She asked a question about the material of the filters and the technician did not know, and also forgot to follow up with the customer. On 12/29/2017, Mrs. called our office to cancel the filters and asked for a refund since the technician never got back to her. The refund check was processed and printed. I called Mrs. to discuss before I mailed the check. The outcome of our discussion was that she would reinstall the original electrostatic air filter, and if she wanted to reorder the metal frames with throwaway filters to call me and we would reorder them.

The business did not address the damaged plumbing fitting which was damaged by the technician unscrewing the fittings rather than using the attached hose. Owner stated they would come out, take a look. No follow up has occurred with that. We did receive the refund check for the filters.

As a follow up to my original response, I reviewed the service invoice from the last service call and talked to the service technician again about the outside faucet and there was no recollection of any issues with the outside water faucet, nor was there any mention of an issue needing attention on the service invoice. Therefore there is nothing else owed to this customer.

The business never once offered to repair the faucet the technician broke even though they were made aware of the issue. The service company never even came back out. The owner was rude on the phone and said it would be repaired. This issue goes very far back. I hired another company who came out. We had mold in our unit due to the fan speed being too high, which was also the cause of the filter issues. My out of pocket costs were 704.10 to have the mold removed from inside the Unit, have the faucet repaired, and have the fan turned down to the proper speed.

Honest Air has serviced our A/C's for three houses. Service has been excellent. Recently Phil came out to us in Venice and took extra steps o resolve a real puzzler. Highly recommended! *** in Venice FL

My husband and I live in NY and own a vacation home in Venice, Florida. We've used Honest Air since owning our Florida home and have always been very pleased and have had nothing but positive experiences. We have had a complete new AC system installed and since then with our maintenance agreement have had regular maintenance checks. The office representatives and technicians are always helpful efficient and professional. This is especially meaningful, confidence building and appreciated since most of our communication is long distance from New York to Florida. We're completely satisfied with Honest Air and very relieved we found this company!

Denial of responsibility of issue on AC unit installed and maintained by Company
I had an AC issue Made on June 9th. Service man came out on Saturday, assessed air-handler in attic and compressor outside. Faulty part in Air handler part was covered under warranty (Honest Air installed complete ac unit and handler 4 years prior as well as maintenance yearly). Service man came on Monday, June 12th fixed issued. June 15th discovered water in garage by hot water heater. Called plumber thinking it was water heater. Plumber returned and HE FOUND it was not water heater, nor pipes in wall by water heater, but the P-pipe on the AC unit was dislocated causing water to poor into my walls and onto my garage floor by water heater. Called company, spoke to owner of Honest Air and explained the situation, and he said "too bad you called the plumber first and not us". He also commented "that is what homeowners have insurance for." Nonetheless, they sent out the same service man who initially fixed the handler to come out and "inspect" the situation. He said he could have, but denied dislodging the P-pipe when repairing the air handler. Noteworthy points, Honest Air put in my entire ac system, maintained the system and NEVER glued the P-pipe to the drainage pipe--or NEVER inspected the P-pipe when doing their maintenance? I had to pay a $500 deductible to repair my walls and cabinetry in my laundry room. The cost of repair was $4,200 due to this ac the water damage. I am seeking the company to do the right thing and provide me the restitution of my deductible due to this negligence.

Desired Outcome

Restitution of home owners deductible in the amount of $500.

Honest Air Response

I took a second look at this customers case and visited the home on 10/16/17 to be clear on how this might have happened. My determination is that the drain pipe that came apart causing the leak is part of the original drain line that was not replaced with the new system we installed several years before and is 15 - 20 years old. We replaced a motor in the air handler about 10 feet away from where this leak occurred, and there was no way to see or know this pipe was leaking. We did not work on the drain line, but the drain line is connected to the air handler. I reached out to the homeowner and offered to reimburse then for 1/2 of the insurance deductible, and am awaiting there response to the offer.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As it was appreciated that you came to the home over 4 months after the incident, I am shocked that you are putting fault on the p-pipe. First, YOU as the expert should have replaced the P-pipe if you are NOW claiming it is 15 to 20 years old. This should have been pointed out when you REPLACED my entire A/C system, replaced duct work and increased a return outlet in one of my rooms. Also, in your 4 years of servicing my A/C there has been NO mention about the p-pipe being "old". Isn't it made out of PVC? Honestly, Honest Air I don't know what the point you are trying to make. I can only surmise that you are trying to absolve yourself from full liability .

Secondly, an offer for "store" credit was offered NOT monetary reimbursement--Sir, as you stated to me about "that is what homeowners have insurance for", I counter to you ans say "isn't this what you have business liability insurance for?" I expected monetary reimbursement and NOT "store credit".
