received on 4/20/2015. The customer's original purchase was for an unlimited search membership which renews every 3 months. The membership was never canceled, so it continued to renew until the customer contacted us on 2/1/2016. We promptly canceled the membership and issued a refund for $59.85 for the most recent charge.
We do have a policy stated in our Terms of Use that all sales are final after 60 days. However, we have made an exception in this case and issued an additional refund for $59.85. In total, we have issued two refunds for all charges which occurred within the last 120 days. If there is any other way we can assist the customer, we can be reached at [redacted]

I acknowledge receipt of the refunds issued; however, their claim that their terms are clearly laid out and that I never cancelled the subscription are false.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused the customer. Our records do not indicate that there was a cancellation on this account prior to the customer contacting us on 2/1/2016. We only show that the customer did log into the account on 9/21/2015 but no action was taken to cancel. As a safeguard, we do list our phone number on the credit card statement with each charge. If a charge is spotted and our service unwanted, we hope our customers will contact us immediately to prevent further billing. Had the customer contacted us sooner, we would have been able to prevent the membership from renewing. However, we do understand that sometimes a charge can be overlooked which is why we have issued refunds past our refund policy.

received on 9/17/2014. The customer's original purchase was for a 7 day free trial of an unlimited search membership and a 7 day free trial of IdentitySmart. The customer canceled the unlimited search membership online on 9/22/2014. However, the IdentitySmart membership was not canceled and remained active. We do list our phone number every month on the credit card statement. We did not hear from the customer until 12/28/2015 at which time we immediately canceled the membership and issued a refund for $19.95 for the most recent charge. Had we been contacted sooner, we would have been able to prevent any further billing.
In an effort to reconcile this matter and satisfy the customer's request, three more refunds have been issued for $19.95. In our Terms of Use, we state that all sales are final after 60 days. In this case, we have extended our refund policy to include all charged which have occurred within the last 120 days. If there is any other way we can assist the customer, they are welcomed to contact us at their earliest convenience at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

We provided three different methods to cancel a trial membership including: calling us directly, emailing us at [redacted]@peoplesmart.com, or by using the contact form on the website. The trial was never canceled within the seven day trial period, which is why the customer was billed accordingly.

I do not accept this "attempt" at a resolution. The only acceptable offer will be a full refund for all months billed. I was not notified of these charges. The fact that their phone representative was able to refund so easily the 120 days shows that this is a common problem and MANY MANY people are unaware that they are being billed for services that they are not receiving. I believe that the Revdex.com should investigate this further and shut down this unethical and fraudulent company.

This is just another internet company that tries deceptive methods to sell a customer a self renewing contract without their knowledge. While they have offered an amount of money as a refund, it is nowhere near what I have paid in the past year. Therefore they still stand to make money and will continue these practices. They told me it is not their "policy" to refund anything over 120 days. Very profitable policy.
I have not accessed the site for any other "searches" since my initial search, as I was believing that I had no further access. Further, the site was not able to provide even the most basic of information on this individual. They showed he had a fishing license, but no law license, no criminal charge and the subsequent censure by the Michigan Bar. All of the information was a matter of public record, yet not provided by the company.
These kinds of companies thrive because they lock people in and turn incredible profits. I only want the 11 months refunded and am happy to pay for what I ordered, 1 month of PeopleSmart.

PeopleSmart offers partial refunds citing "company policy". It can easily afford partial refunds after hiding charges in unclear language and webiste layout. I personally have a policy to pay for what I purchased, but not be a victim of deception.
Additionally, the product (public information) was a completely empty promise. Easily available information was not provided in the report. Also, even with being charged for 8 months of "service", they had to take steps to let me access the original report that showed the subject had a fishing license, but not the criminal charges against him.
This company's real policy is to extract automatic charges from as many customers as possible and provide the minimal effort and hide behind disclaimers.

Regrettably, once these funds are reclaimed by PayPal, PeopleSmart is unable to issue a refundthe funds for the customer order are no longer in our possession.

After reviewing this account we see the customer has already called our Member Services Center, and spoke with a service agent who promptly refunded the charges to them on 11/28/14. We have an "All sales are final after 60 days" policy per our terms of service; however, we have gone back 120 days in this case.

Peoplesmart has failed to provide proof that two memberships existed under my name based upon the documentation they sent to me last month. I requested information from Peoplesmart as proof of purchases from my computer to their system and as stated before, they sent me information pertaining to a person named "[redacted]". Although they have partially refunded me, they still owe me $99.75 because they are unable to provide the proof as requested. Please ask them why they are unable to provide proof of purchases from my computer to their system? This is the answer I am presently seeking?

The business has failed to send me the definitive documentation as requested. The information I received does not support their claim because it has [redacted] name on it, not mine. The business fraudulently obtained money from me and I want all future customers to beware of this business; perhaps, this can be viewed as a means of helping others.
