up front for the entire term selected.
b) $1.00 Trial Membership

in 5 days. Upon the expiration of the 5-day trial period, you will be
automatically enrolled in a monthly membership and billed $29.63 immediately
and $29.63 every month thereafter, unless you cancel. You may cancel at any
time including during the trial period.
You may
cancel your membership, including any trial or nonstandard membership at any
time by calling our customer support line at ###-###-#### between 5am - 10pm
Pacific Standard Time (7 days a week) to speak with one of our Customer Service
Representatives. Any cancellation request will cancel your upcoming bill.  Our number one goal at Instant Checkmate is
customer satisfaction. If you are ever not satisfied with our services, feel
free to call one of our excellent customer support staff between the hours of
5am and 10pm PST (7 days a week), or between 6am and 2pm PST on holidays, and
we will work to resolve your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis
with the ultimate goal of complete customer satisfaction.
We
are sorry to hear that Ms. [redacted] was not
satisfied with our services.  Ms. [redacted] has been provided with a full refund of
$59.26, which is the total amount Instant Checkmate is able to refund. Please

This is the type of business that should never receive a good grade from Revdex.com.   A respectable business makes money from their product or service.  This business chooses to make money on the unethical selling of their customers email addresses and then justifies it with the fine print that nobody reads. My complaint will be resolved when their actions no longer fill my inbox with trash.  I only hope the Revdex.com will warn others so they know to patronize another business that shows some integrity.

This company just debited my account for the whole year yesterday. I called to cancel the service and they told me that I would not be billed further. I requested a refund, seeing as the payment was just taken, and had not planned on using the service. And they refused. Not very happy. So if you are planning on using this service temporarily, be warned you will not get a refund if you cancel.

additional refund in the amount of $68.58 ($22.86x3) this makes a total amount
refunded of $160.02. Ms. [redacted]’s Instant Checkmate
account has been cancelled, and she will not incur any further charges.

Entered my payment info twice and never received a report! A total scam!!

Dear Ms. [redacted],
This email is in response to the consumer rejection from Mr. [redacted]; reference  #[redacted].
It appears as though Mr. [redacted] did not read our response all the way through. In his rejection, he insists that he still wants a refund. However, in our initial response, we informed Mr. [redacted] that we want to issue him a full refund.
The only problem is that we are unable to locate his account based on the information in his Revdex.com complaint. In order to process the refund, we need Mr. [redacted] to provide the first name, last name, and email address he used to sign up for Instant Checkmate. Once this information is provided, we will be able to move forward with issuing his full refund.

We strive to provide our
members with extensive public record information in our standard reports
(including names, aliases, phone numbers, location history, possible related
persons, arrest records, sex offenders, licenses, social media accounts, and horoscopes).
While we provide as much information as possible in our standard reports, some
records are expensive to access and can only be offered for an additional
charge. Therefore, we charge a one-time fee to compile premium reports for our
users.
We do our best to explain to customers what they can expect from a standard subscription. As stated on the FAQ page of our website:
Instant Checkmate's Standard Report contains, where available, a person’s date of birth, phone numbers, address history, related persons, arrest records, government license information, social media profiles including email addresses, and nearby sex offenders. A subscription with Instant Checkmate allows you to obtain unlimited Standard Reports about persons during your subscription period. After subscribing, you will also have the opportunity to upgrade your Standard Report to a Premium Report, which will supply additional and supplemental data about a person, for $19.99.
Any additional charges for features such as premium data or pdf service, are completely optional and are considered extra bonus features that customers can choose to purchase. Our Premium Reports supplement our standard reports by including data collected from additional sources. You choose to buy a Premium Report only for the people you want, ensuring the lowest cost for our standard reports.
We apologize that Mr. [redacted] was not satisfied with our services. As a gesture of goodwill, Mr. [redacted] has been issued a refund in the amount of $24.85, as per the request in the original complaint. This refund has been credited back to the card that was used to enroll in our services, and no further charges will be incurred.

We are receiving several hundred emails from the domains [redacted] and many others.  THERE IS NO OPT OUT LINK.
The only links in these message forward to random domains associated with [redacted] and instantcheckmate.com. 
We are not customers and are receiving unsolicited emails.  We did not agree to opt in to any email messages.
 
We feel that these emails are malicious, pervasive and dishonest.  This is a deceptive business practice and that is the nature of my complaint.  I consider this a 'bait and switch' type of phishing scam.

This email is in response to the consumer complaint from Ms. [redacted]; reference  #[redacted]. We request that Ms. [redacted] please read this response in its entirety, as we have included important refund information at the bottom.
Instant Checkmate.com compiles reports from millions of public records including information provided by state and local governments. All of the information contained in our reports is part of what is referred to as the "public record."
We do apologize for any confusion Ms. [redacted] may have experienced regarding our services. Some customers are under the impression that when you purchase a membership with our company you are paying for records; unfortunately, this is not the case. The service that is provided is actually the compiling of all the public records data and the sorting of the data into an easy to read format. When a customer pays for a public records search, we do guarantee that we will search every database available to us, however, we cannot guarantee which records will or will not show up in the final report since we are not in control of the records themselves. We simply display records as they are provided to us.
We get our information from local county courthouses and census bureaus. This information is then uploaded to the database that we pull from. There is a possibility that some information may not show on a given individual because some state and local laws restrict us from accessing certain records which may not be considered “public” in that jurisdiction. There also exists the possibility of false positives, and more than one individual with the same name and basic information may match up with many other records. For these reasons, search results are filtered based on likelihood of an exact match. The following disclaimer is also posted on every page of our website:

This email is in response to the consumer complaint from Ms. [redacted]; reference #[redacted].
Our records show that Ms. [redacted] signed up for an Instant Checkmate trial membership by entering his/her personal information and credit card information. In order to complete the enrollment process, she had to check a box to agree to Instant Checkmate’s Terms and Conditions. Instant Checkmate’s Terms of Use, like the Billing Details and Frequently Asked Questions also prominently displayed on the website, fully and conspicuously explain Instant Checkmate’s billing terms, as well as the steps necessary to cancel any membership.
We sincerely apologize that Ms. [redacted] was not satisfied with our services, and we’re very sorry to hear that she was unable to get through to our member care team when she tried to call. Our US-based member care representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so it certainly is strange that Ms. [redacted] was unable to make contact. We have issued a full refund in the amount of $149.15 as per the request in the original complaint. This refund has been credited back to the card that was used to enroll in our services, and no further charges will be incurred.

and $22.86 every month thereafter, unless you cancel.  If your payment for a full term is declined
due to insufficient funds, Instant Checkmate reserves the right to bill in monthly installments at
the rate you selected.
You may
cancel your membership, including any trial or nonstandard membership at any
time by calling our customer support line at [redacted] between 5am - 10pm
Pacific Standard Time (7 days a week) to speak with one of our Customer Service
Representatives. Any cancellation request will cancel your upcoming bill.  Our number one goal at Instant Checkmate is
customer satisfaction. If you are ever not satisfied with our services, feel
free to call one of our excellent customer support staff between the hours of
5am and 10pm PST (7 days a week), or between 6am and 2pm PST on holidays, and
we will work to resolve your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis
with the ultimate goal of complete customer satisfaction.
We
have no record of cancellation from Mr. [redacted] until the call he placed on April
17, 2014. We are sorry to hear that Mr. [redacted] was
not satisfied with our services. Mr. [redacted] has been issued a refund for $22.86,
which is the amount that he is requesting to be reimbursed. Mr. [redacted]’s Instant Checkmate account has been
cancelled, and he will not incur any further charges.
