I cancelled my account after 2 months because any information beyond basic name and addrerss were additional charge. They are still debiting my checking account two months after the cancellation. Their customer service department says their records show the cancellation two months ago and no record of any monthly charges since. Unfortunately my bank records do not agree with theirs. I recommend you keep records of dates, names etc for future refrence if you have any dealings with them.

This site requires you to pay to see your OWN information using the false premise that there COULD be negative information in a criminal report about you. They make it exceedingly difficult to remove your information from their records - repeatedly requesting more information from you for the purpose of "ensuring that they are removing the correct information." Instant Checkmate practices deceptive business. I used their service one time and found the data provided mostly unusable, then they took my one time request for a report and turned it into an monthly payment with my PayPal account. The customer service representative claimed it was clearly communicated that a call was needed to cancel my "membership". I didn't even know I as signing up for a membership, nor that I needed to call to cancel said membership.
I have now cancelled and want to warn any future customers that first you are unlikely to get any valuable information from the report you request, and then either plan on being a member for life as they set up an auto payment with your bank, or call them immediately for cancellation.
Note: calling to cancel is not enough you must also contact your bank to remove the auto payment from your account that was set up without your knowledge.
I do not recommend doing business with Instant Checkmate.
