Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offer.? Below, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Mr[redacted] of the membership offer and details? On June 22, 2016, Mr[redacted] purchased a discounted membership in the amount of $.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMr[redacted] was notified of this offer and trial membership when he selected his report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, he was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before he could complete her report purchase that specifically notified him of the offer and the membership terms, including that his credit or debit card would be charged $(plus applicable taxes) if he did not cancel his day trial membership, a phone number to cancel his membership, that his membership benefits would continue through the last month for which he paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsMr[redacted] was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, he agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each)A copy of the purchase page is attached for your review ? According to our records, Mr[redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier Plus membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team about his membership prior to the expiration of his trial membershipAs a result, his credit card was charged $on June 30, in accordance with the disclosures and the Terms of Service that he agreed to during his initial purchase ? Per the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policyHowever, as a matter of customer courtesy, an Intelius Customer Care representative provided Mr[redacted] with a refund of his last three month membership fees in the amount of $(x $29.95) on March 22, As an additional courtesy, I have provided an additional one month refund of $Mr[redacted] should note these refunds on his account within the next days depending on his financial institution’s billing cycle and internal refund policyWe are unable to provide Mr[redacted] with any additional refunds ? According to our records, Ms[redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier Plus membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team about her membership prior to the expiration of her trial membershipAs a result, her payment method was charged $(plus applicable taxes) on September 14, and every month thereafter in accordance with the disclosures and the Terms of Service that she agreed to during her initial purchase? On June 7, 2018, Ms[redacted] spoke to an Intelius customer care agent via telephonePer the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policy, however as a courtesy, the Intelius agent granted Ms[redacted] a refund of her last three months’ membership fees in the amount of $I have provided Ms[redacted] with an additional three months’ refund in the amount of $on June 11, Ms[redacted] should note this refund on her account within the next to days, depending on her financial institution’s billing cycle and internal refund policyWe are unable to provide Ms[redacted] with any additional refunds ? Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website.? They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership.? When a customer selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing.? By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Plus was activated.? When the Background Report search credit which is provided with the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass is consumed, the membership will immediately charge the monthly cost for the membership.? Before the search credit is consumed, the customer will receive a prompt informing them of the chargeAs requested, the Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 2/10/and the pending charge of $was canceled on 2/12/2016.? This will reflect on Mr[redacted] statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.? Mr[redacted] will only be charged $for the People Search Report.? No future membership charges will occur.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience

I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response for many reasonsFirst is Intelius' track record as a company that rips off customers by signing them up for services the customer does not request and services they are not aware they are signing up forOn the Revdex.com website, there are around complaints and reviews about this companyOut of those 300, 90% of them are negative responses, many of which deal with the unethical billing practices this company usesIm convinced the very few positive responses about the company are planted in their Revdex.com page by their own employeesI have found countless people online, through my research, describing Intelius as a scam companyA company that NO ONE should do business with, only refunding peoples money when threatened with Revdex.com complaints, and complaints filed with the attorney general in WashingtonIf I do not receive a full refund, that is my next step.? ? The company places in very small print in the terms and services section of the payment page the fact that we are agreeing to a day trial and a $a month premium membership if we do not cancel before those days are upIn addition, they burry the mention of the premium account in the middle of the largest terms and conditions check box I have ever seenTHIS IS THE ONLY MENTION OF THE $CHARGE TURNING INTO A $PREMIUM ACCOUNT THAT I HAVE YET TO FIND, DESPITE INTELIUS CLAIMING THEY MAKE IT ABUNDANTLY CLEARThis issue is illustrated in my second attachment, a screenshot from the Intelius website's checkout page, the same image the company attached to their original rebuttal to my complaint.? ? In my third attachment, I have created a mock search someone to illustrate how unclear the billing is for a one-time searchIt shows the $charge, but ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF THIS CHARGE TURNING INTO A $MONTHLY CHARGE.? ? ? The next issue I have is in the confirmation email that the company sends outIntelius claims that this is their second line of defense in notifying me about what I purchased and the fact that I need to cancel my account before my day trial turns into a premium membershipHowever, all that is mentioned in this confirmation email is my order number, the charge which is clearly marked as $with no mention of that charge turning into a premium membership, and the company's customer service contact informationThis issue is clearly illustrated in my second attachment.? ? Next, the company has no idea about the exact dates they charged my card, giving me very little hope regarding their business practicesAll of my transactions, according to my bank statements, occurred on the 22nd day of every month since they forced this premium account on meHowever, the company claims they charged my card on the 28th of every month in their rebuttalVery untrustworthy.? In addition, when talking to the original customer service agent on the phone, she refused to refund me anything, stating that was their rigid and unflinching policyHowever, I kept prodding herEventually she gave me a one month refundBut, still being unsatisfied, I kept prodding, so much so that she gave the phone up to her supervisorIn prodding him incessantly, he eventually gave me a three month refund, although it was supposedly against company policyThis leads me to believe that this company is basically extorting me for my moneyThey're making it difficult for me to receive a refund, giving me a fraction of what they owe me, hoping I will stop contacting them.? ? Also, the customer service agents I spoke to claim they have finalized the refund of my money for the last monthsHowever, I only received a confirmation email for the month that the original customer service agent gave meI have received nothing from the supervisorThis can be seen in attachment 4.? ? Lastly, the agents that I spoke to on the phone stated that the refund would be in my account within 5-business days and that I should contact them with my confirmation code if this does not occurHowever, in the rebuttal to my original Revdex.com complaint, the company stated that I should receive the money in 30-daysAs can be seen through the information provided, there is A LOT of conflicting information being presented to me, both directly and indirectly, from the companyTherefore, I would like a full refund of the months of money you stole from me or I will take further action with the attorney general in Washington.?

different levels of information about individualsWe have removed the requested information from the Intelius database, as well as affiliated sites.We recommend Ms*** review our privacy policy located on the Intelius website at https://www.intelius.com/privacy.php.Generally, we do require an individual’s identity to be verified prior to processing an opt-out.? ? To do this, we request that proof of identity be submitted along with the removal request.? Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license.? When uploading, faxing, or mailing a copy of a driver's license, we require that the photo and the driver's license number be crossed out.? However, we do need to see the name, address, and date of birth to ensure that all information is removed from our database.? If an individual does not feel comfortable faxing us their driver’s license or other state issued identification; they can send a notarized statement of their identity.Additionally, it is important to remember that the Opt Out procedure is temporary.? Intelius is constantly updating their database with new public records.? It is possible that an individual may need to resubmit an Opt Out request for any new records that may have been added to our database since their last Opt Out request.? We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Mr[redacted] in connection with his Intelius Premiere Membership ? Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier membership offer.? Below, I
have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Mr[redacted] of the membership offer and details? On December 2, 2017, Mr[redacted] purchased a $reportAfter completing his report purchase and clicking the “Submit” button, Mr[redacted] was presented with an optional 7-day money back guarantee of the Intelius Premier membership.? The offer appeared on an individual web page, contained specific offer details and gave him the choice to accept or decline the offer.? ? The offer details were presented in a stand-alone box and explained that the Premier membership would automatically bill Mr[redacted]’s debit or credit card used to purchase his initial report, the amount his card would be charged and instructions on how to cancel the membership either online or via a toll-free number during and after the 7-day money back guarantee period along with hyperlinks to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy ? Directly next to the offer details box, the offer presented two clickable buttons, one labeled “Yes and Show My Report” and the other labeled “No, Show My Report”.? In order for the Premier membership to be processed, Mr[redacted] would have needed to enter his email address and affirmatively click the “Yes” button.? Similar to the offer details box, a statement above the email text field explained that “By typing my email address below, that will constitute my electronic signature and is written authorization to charge/debit my account, and by clicking “Yes” I certify that I have read and agree to the Offer Details displayed to the right.” In this case, Mr[redacted] entered his email address and clicked the “Yes” button to accept the membership offer ? Shortly after his report purchase, Mr[redacted] would have received a receipt confirmation email sent to the email address associated with his Intelius accountThis email contained the amount Mr[redacted] paid for his report and the Intelius Premier membership terms and conditions and instructions on how to cancel his membership ? According to our records, Mr[redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team until Mr[redacted] contacted us on December 10, At that time, Mr[redacted] was unable to completely verify his accountHowever, a representative did remove Mr[redacted]’s account from the Premier membership plan per his request ? I am rejecting this response because:it was correct for Intelius to not charge me for things I did not agree to due to the fraudulent and misleading manner in which it sets up it's website.Intelius still has my personal information and VISA card information.? I will takes legal action if Intelius charges me in the future.? This business continues to mislead people to go to their website today and onward.? I spoke to two other people that were tricked the same way I was.? So, yes it is proper for Intelius to not charge me for other than just the $look-up, but this business still continues to run a fraudulent website in my opinion

Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website.?
Each offer includes a discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membership.? If the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days.? If the user does not cancel within the initial seven days, their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $for a Premier Plus membership

Per the Terms Service Mr*** agreed to upon the completion of his report purchase, Intelius has a no refund policy.? However, as a matter of customer courtesy, I have provided a refund of $and removed Mr*** from the Premier Plus membership program on December 9, 2016.? Mr*** should note this refund on his credit card within the next to days, depending on his financial institution’s refund policies.?
