reports on the Intelius websiteEach offer includes the standard one-time purchase price and a second discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membership with one background report search voucherIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership and has not yet used their background check voucher, they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel within the stated time frame or if the user uses the background report voucher within the initial days, they are enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $going forward ? Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offerBelow, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Ms*** of the membership offer and details? On April 23, 2018, Ms*** purchased a discounted Assisted Phone Search in the amount of $.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMs*** was notified of this offer and trial membership when she selected her report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, she was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before she could complete her report purchase that specifically notified her of the offer and the membership terms, including that her credit or debit card would be charged $if she utilized her background report voucher within the 7-day trial membership, a phone number to cancel her membership, that her membership benefits would continue through the last month for which she paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsMs*** was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, she agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each)A representative copy of the standard purchase page is is attached for your review ? Since the Assisted Phone Search returned no data on the number Ms*** searched, the $report fee was automatically refunded to her credit card on April 27, Per the Terms of Service and the terms Ms*** agreed to during her initial purchase, Intelius has a no refund policyI can confirm she has been removed from the Intelius Premier Plus membership program and no additional fees will be charged to her account ? I am rejecting this response because: My main complaint was not addressed by the business in mentionI stated that their on-line correspondence when signing up for a membership states " that any time the membership can be cancelled either by calling their support Office number any time for any reasonI called that support number and they said they could not cancel the membershipThe inconsistencies that they mention in their answer was not even the main reason I initiated this complaintthey are telling the public that we can call and cancel at anytime for any reason the membership and when I initiated this? written quote ? they could not/would not follow thruIf they had explained why they could not cancel the membership that they quoted when you sign up it would have been better.? In addition, if they had given me the information about I-tunes like they did in their answer again it could have alleviated having this complaint filed in their public record.? I know for whatever reason that I won't ever get my money back so lets just close this and move onI would like notice left open and on file? for the public to be able to see or use if this happens to someone else?

selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing.? By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated? The Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was canceled on 4/2/and a refund was issued for $on 4/13/2016.? The refund will appear on Ms[redacted] statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.Additionally, we received Ms[redacted] refund request regarding overdraft fees however; we are unable to process refunds for overdraft charges.? On May 14, 2017, Ms[redacted] purchased a discounted Assisted Phone Search Report in the amount of $.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMs[redacted] was notified of this offer and trial membership when she selected her report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, she was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before she could complete her report purchase that specifically notified her of the offer and the membership terms, including that her credit or debit card would be charged $(plus applicable taxes) if she did not cancel her day trial membership, a phone number to cancel her membership, that her membership benefits would continue through the last month for which she paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsMs[redacted] was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, she agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each)A representative copy of the purchase page is attached for your review ? According to our records, Ms[redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier Plus membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team about her membership prior to the expiration of her trial membershipAs a result, her credit or debit card was charged $on May 22, and every month thereafter in accordance with the disclosures and the Terms of Service that she agreed to during her initial purchase? Per the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policy, however as a matter of customer courtesy, an Intelius customer care representative provided Ms[redacted] with a month membership refund on December 26, in the amount of $and removed her from the Premier Plus membership planMs[redacted] should note this refund on her account within the next to days, depending on her financial institution’s billing cycle and internal refund policiesWe are unable to provide Ms[redacted] with any additional refunds ? In order for this specific search string to be removed, Google will need to re-index these webpages and update the information they have cachedWhen and how often these pages are re-indexed is beyond our control and is based on Google’s internal policies and algorithmsHowever, Ms*** should note, that none of her information appears within any of the Intelius search resultsPlease see the attached screen shot of a search page showing no information available on the Intelius website for “*** ***” ? Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website.? They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership.? When a customer
selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing.? The billing details are reiterated on each page during the purchase process.? By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated? As requested, the Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 12/28/2016.? As stated within the Terms and Conditions which Ms[redacted] agreed to during her report purchase, Intelius has a no refund policy.? However, as a courtesy a Customer Care agent refunded the charge of $for the Intelius Premier Plus Membership on 12/28/2016.? The refund will appear on Ms[redacted]’s statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.?
