JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Reviews (4971)

Review: On October 17, 2011 Chase Cardmember Service agreed to terms electronically with Greenpath, a Debt Management Program (DMP), that I am using in good faith to make timely payments to creditors & to efficiently pay down debt. My DMP, Greenpath, has electronic documentation confirming that Chase Cardmember Service, after some back and forth, ACCEPTED the terms of the DMP. After agreeing to accept $98.00 per month on October 17, 2011, my Chase account was not re-aged nor was it updated with the 3 credit reporting agencies as occurred with all other creditors. Despite Chase consistently receiving timely payments since October 2011 & after repeated attempts, Chase refuses to remove any/all monthly derogatories (lates) from my credit report with the 3 credit reporting agencies. Chase's own policy is that after 3 consistent, on-time payments, they will remove derogatories. However, without my knowledge until recently, Chase reported my account late to all 3 credit reporting agencies monthly since October 2011. On January 12, 2014, I paid off the remaining balance I had with Chase. In summary, Chase agreed to the DMP, got paid timely (monthly)by our DMP but, unlike the other creditors, Chase decided to penalize me monthly from October 2011 to January 2014 by reporting my account 'late' with the 3 credit reporting agencies and refuses to remove the monthly deregatotires and re-age my account so my credit reports do not indicate monthly lates since October 2011. I want the monthly derogatories removed from my credit reports and my account re-aged showing no-lates with the 3 credit reporting agencies.

Account_Number: XXXX XXXX XXXX [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I want the monthly derogatories removed immediately (by Chase) and my account re-aged showing no-lates with the 3 credit reporting agencies. Chase agreed to the DMP, got paid timely (monthly) and Chase, in my opinion, unfairly continued to report my account as late month after month since October 2011 without my knowledge. This apparent practice by Chase is extraordinarily unfair to consumers like me who, in good faith, entered into a DMP so th

Review: I was targeted/ telemarked by Chase Bank to Purchase optional Life. Long and Short term disability coverage for $6.84. per month auto deduction wich shows monthly on all my statments, up until Chase decided they were makein a change in June 2014. and sent me a letting addmittng to such of removeing of funds uo to June 2014. Which we are in agreement to. Chase thein said they have pass the money to [redacted] Life, who just refuse to pay the claim, I have a Super Bronze Policy which is the best they sell. Life, Permanent and Partial disbility. [redacted] Life just refuses to pay I have been disabled since 12/23/2005 Social Security, [redacted] Life has the paper work and just keeps telling me they are reviewing thier records month after month. They do not have medical expert as Social Security Does it takes may yeary to receive SS. there are many years of haear ache. this is not joke. [redacted] Life has beenk putting me through so much pain and suffer and so much more. Chase should also be held responsible for getting me involved with such. There is not reason that an insurance company along with a Chase Bank should collect money automatic from a disable person and not pay the policy and continue to collect the money. something is not right here. Chase and [redacted] Life Assurnat are draining funds from Disabled.Maybe my next stepis to call the radio and television stations if this is not resolved?Desired Settlement: I would like what I purchase honerd and taken care of exactly as I am continue to still honor. If I stopped doing, my part the policy would have been been canceled. Although [redacted] Life has tried this, they claim this. first they told me it was my card. I asked them to provide me all the denial, date and time. I call my Credit Card there were never put in. I talked to the manager who told me he was going to research it, found out it was a glitch in system. Never happen before he said.

Review: I have a charged off account from chase dated back to March 2008, the card had a balance of $4,434

I was sent a letter in the mail regarding a 1099-C for cancelled debt and I was told I was no longer liable for this debt.

However this debt is still reporting to the bureau with a $4,434 balance even though it has been included in my income as a cancelled debt that I had to pay taxes on. According to the FCRA this in incorrect. You cannot report a balance on an account that has been cancelled and I have included it in my tax returns. I have consistently called Chase and not one customer service rep, manager, supervisor, etc has been able to assist me, some of them weren't even aware of what I was referring to.

I also believe that this debit has now exceeded the 7 year reporting. I am trying to close on a house and this has become a major issueDesired Settlement: I would like this item removed from my credit report. I no longer owe this amount and I do believe it is past the 7 year reporting period.

Review: I applied for a SW credit card through Chase so I could get a 99 dollar flight credit and they won't honor credit as site says

I applied and qualified for a Southwest Airlines Chase credit card. I waiting to get my card to book my flight, the DAY I GOT MY CARD, I booked my flight and the page stated that I would get a 99 dollar credit on my flight for my first flight I booked with my SW credit card. Chase is refusing to give me the credit. This is fraudulant advertising, and I am very upset about this. I want a credit to my statement for the 99 as promised.Desired Settlement: I would like the 99 dollar credit to my account.

For weeks I had been working with [redacted], which she was pleasant to work with. I also file for assistance. I had been very ill two weeks ago. On Easter Sunday, I became very ill and ended up in Intensive Care Unit for four days. The other five I was put in a regular hospital bill. When I was released from the hospital. I came home and my son told me JP Chase turned my account to a creditor. I do not know what creditor. Yesterday I called [redacted]. I have been struggling due to illness and unemployment. I am very upset over this and I don't want to get ill again. I just wanted [redacted] to contact me so I could of told her what was going on.

Review: I found online a Chase card application for a zero interest for 18 months and a zero transfer fee. I applied and listed two accounts totalling almost $13,000 that I wanted to transfer those balances and then cancel those cards. However, I was only approved for $2000 credit limit which is now more a bother than a help. If they cannot give you the amount you have put down to transfer, they should not automatically approve you for a lessor amount. Now, I have ANOTHER credit card instead of eliminating two higher insterest cards. If they would have approved the first account I wanted to transfer in full at least I could have justified getting the Chase card but getting rid of one of the higher interest cards (or at least the interest adding up on that cards debt). Now I am sure Chase has completed a balance transfer on the $2000 making things worse by requiring me to have a third card that I did not want instead of getting rid of two or at least reducing costs on one.Desired Settlement: Option 1: Cancel the card application, cancel any card that was issued, reverse the transaction for any transferred debt. Put me back to the place I was before I tried applying for a Chase card.

Option 2: Transfer the $6900 balance from the Capital One card to Chase so I can at least get rid of that acount. Zero transfer fee, zero interes for 18 months. And as I pay it down, they can put a freeze on any new charges until I am below the $2000 limit they only want me to have.

Review: Refused refund due to "fraud".

on 10/23/13, I received a direct deposit of $550.00 putting my account in the positive of $791.97. I was notified later that day that my account would be closed and my debit card was deactivated. I was advised that I could get money out that day. I left my money in as I knew that the fraud dept was working on the issue and it would be worked out plus I loved Chase. Fraud was working on my account as I had previously notified them. The next day, I woke up to a text message that me account was overdrawn by $322.50. I called Chase and visited a local branch in Valrico, FL to be told there was nothing they could do and my full money of $791.97 was gone. As of 11/8/13, I am negative $502.83. Further, a business made a deposit into Chase using my debit card without consulting me first in the amount of $74.00 on 11/8/13. Chase had advised me that they will not return the $74.00 either.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the $791.97 and $74.00.

Review: I had gone through the lengthy process of applying for an equity line of credit through Chase Bank. This involves many things including an appraisal of my home which will be used as collateral against the loan. Chase Bank had pre-approved me based on certain criteria including my relationship with the bank and my "private client" status. They had also informed me that I would attain a %3 rate on the line of credit loan. This rate is only granted to loan amounts of $50,000 or more and near the end of the qualification process they informed me that my "income" did not meet the required amount. They then informed me that they could only provide me with a $30,000 loan and after some discussion came back to me stating that they could do a $42,500 loan both of which would be at a higher rate of %5.75. My point is that they can obviously grant me an increase of $10,000 to $12,500 more without any problem but cannot seem to make the $50,000 threshold being only $7500 more. I believe this method of approach to be a "Bait and switch" tactic. Leading the client to believe they will receive a low rate only to go through he lengthy process to be forced into a higher rate at the end.Desired Settlement: I believe all of the qualifications are in place regarding income, collateral, etc and would like to see Chase stand behind the $50,000 line of credit agreement.

Review: Issue Customer service / Customer relations Describe what happened so we can understand the issue... This consumer complaint is regarding the way in which JP Morgan Chase Bank handled a credit card dispute I opened numerous times. I have disputed this charge in the past, and at first, the financial institution correctly issued me a credit. Then, for whatever reason, they reversed the credit. I am requesting the credit again as I have returned all items purchased in this order within the confines of the seller's clearly defined return policy. The merchant states that they have not received the returned items, but I refuse to be on the hook financially for the merchant's error. I will not pay this charge. It is the burden of the merchant and the financial institution to prove that my dispute is not valid. This has not been completed and I received no documentation or information that was required to provided to me. This charge was made on my Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card account. I would appreciate Chase crediting my account in a timely manner. As mentioned earlier, I will not pay this amount under dispute and will go to court if necessary. Here are the charge details: Per existing claim number [redacted] that was previously opened with JPMorgan Chase Bank on 3/18/2014, I am requesting credit of $918. This charge is with merchant MATCHES FASHION from a transaction dated 02/15/2014. Thank you for your assistance with this.Desired Settlement: Per existing claim number[redacted] that was previously opened with JPMorgan Chase Bank on 3/18/2014, I am requesting credit of $918.

Review: We've been paying Chase Bank Visa Card every month for over 15yrs. My husband is what the card name is under I don't work I'am disabled have been since 2003 his name is [redacted].Our monthly charges vary but always near $300 a month. If we overpay them to lower our bill of $300 it's useless not even counted whenever you can't send over payment. What's owed stays the same of $6,000 closer to $7,000 my husband may use his card when things are really tight. He is an Over the Road Truck Drive, which is as you know expensive out there. So my complaint is are they right? a If not I would like to see a better deal because we've been paying since 1998 and this credit card bill truly has been paid way,way over than what they claim is still owed on itDesired Settlement: To make it clear we pay close to $300 a month have been since 1998.The Original Credit Amount and Still is the Amount is $6-7,000 closer to $7,000.This has never changed at all since 1998.Need to know if this practice is legal.

Thank You!

Review: I have a Slate card from Chase. Chase will not tell me all the addresses that they send emails from. This is important because I receive a good amount information online concerning Chase. The only thing that I am told to do is to add "@chase.com" to my contacts list. However, I cannot add incomplete addresses like "@chase.com" to my contacts list. I will need the complete email addresses.Desired Settlement: Please provide a list of all email addresses that Chase uses. I'll add them to my contacts list so that Chase's messages do not end up in the spam folder.

Review: On July 20th, 2013 (early morning PST), I checked my Chase Freedom Credit Card balance and paid it in FULL as I do each and every month. I have never carried a balance on ANY of my Chase Freedom Cards and currently hold several accounts with JP Morgan Chase. On August 20th, 2013 (as I do every month the DAY after my statement comes out) I again went to pay my credit card bill and I was surprised to see a $38 interest fee. When I called into customer service I was greeted with very poor and rude service. I was treated as a negligent customer for having paid $1150 on 7/20/2013 instead of the actual balance that was shown on my 8/20/2013 statement as $1311. The problem lies with the Chase online banking service which frequently DOES NOT make accurate statement balance updates on the day the statement comes out. I have verified this with my friends that also have Chase as their bank that they have had similar issues. As such I have canceled my credit card since I feel this is a fraudulent act that Chase has automated and charged to me mistakenly. Afterwards I attempted to re-activate my credit card as I realized I had many bills tied to it and Chase had declined my request. This is the worst customer service I have ever received at the fault of their actions!

Earlier this year Chase also failed to refund $435 for a refinancing inquiry my wife and I had performed. At that point they had "guaranteed" a loan approval but later changed the conditions and we felt taken advantage of. The agent and branch we worked with is: [redacted]. This took place last year and the branch location is: [redacted].

This is very upsetting and I am very much saddened by the disloyalty and disrespect that my bank has treated me with. I've been with Chase for many years and have much of my money and accounts with them. At this point I feel I have no choice but to take all my business and my families business elsewhere.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my old Credit Card reinstated without another credit inquiry (which was already performed). Additionally, I would like our $435 that was maliciously taken from us during a refinance inquiry (which was initiated by Chase to begin with!). I would like no negative impact to my credit score whatsoever after all this is said and done as well.

Review: I asked to do a balance transfer and 2 days later I called them back to stop the transaction and they allowed the transaction to complete.

On September 26th 2015 I called them to do a money transfer to klp enterprise solutions in Orlando Florida contact there is [redacted] pH [redacted] this company offered me a 4 year 0 percent interest on balance they gave me an account NR opened in my name [redacted] and we did the balance transfer from my wife's [redacted] Sears card to klp enterprise solutions in the amount of 7527$ after 2 days on Monday the 28th I called Sears card back to ask them to put a stop /cancel the transaction because I called klp enterprise solutions and couldn't contact no one there and realized that this is a scheme to get money from my wife's card but the Sears master card operator told me that he could not stop and said to let the transaction to complete and then start the dispute I insisted to stop it but they wouldn't do it. Good enough after the transaction was completed I opened a dispute through Sears master card and they simply said that they can't do nothing about it that I should talk to klp enterprise solutions but they are nowhere to be found so our family is stuck with this balance for the money that we never got a use of for the simple reason that they wouldn't stop the transaction when we asked them to do so. My wife's Sears master card ends in 4789 expires 11/18. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter I hope I can get the help I need in this case.Desired Settlement: I just need the Sears master card to credit my wife's account and change the way they conduct their transactions especially when the customer calls before the transaction was completed like in our case. I don't have enough money and power to fight this in a court of law and I hope that you can get some results on our behalf. Thank you for your cooperation. [redacted]

Review: I contacted Chase about paying off a charge off in return they would delete the tradeline. I was offered this deal before but contacted them because I could not make the payment due to employment issues. They told me to call when I had the money, which I did. The girl that was originally going to do this, no longer works in that dept. I was contacted by another girl and she offered a settlement and then the tradeline would be deleted. This was discussed several times before making payment. They offered a settlement and told me that the account could be adjusted once the payment cleared. They told me they couldn't put it in writing until the payment was made. After the payment cleared, they called and said they would not delete the tradeline as promised. They led me to believe they were going to do this and deceived me.Desired Settlement: Tradeline deleted as promised

Review: I received a $50 Chase Visa card after refinancing my home. I attempted to use it on at least three different occasions without success. The first time I believe I was trying to charge groceries, I gave them the pin and it wouldn't work. I called and was given a new pin it didn't work. I tried the card at least three times, with three vendors and two pins with no luck. I called to find the balance today and was told there was only about three dollars available because they were charging a service fee each month. What a scam! If it had worked the first time at least I would hav received something out of it. Secondly, each time the product didn't work at the checkout, I felt like a deadbeat who looked like she couldn't pay her bills because the card would go through. Very disappointed in this company.Desired Settlement: I want the $50 owed me in a form that will work! I.e. buy something. This card is not user friendly or functional.

Review: Chase has screwed me over many times. When Iopened my account I had a 9.9% interest rate. in 2008 I was sent to the Texas Gulf coast to do Hurricane relief for Hurricane Ike. That month, because I was doing hurricane relief, I am in the Emergency Management field, I was late on the payment. Chase hit me with a penalty rate of 29.9%. I continued to pay and I called trying to explain the situation. I was told there was nothing that could be done. I paid. After the 2009 Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act, I called again, having paid on time for more than a year, to try and reduce my APR, and was told that there was nothing that could be done and my APR would stay at 29.9. Meanwhile all the other cards I had that were also paid late, reduced their APRs on my accounts to the original APRs, from their penalty APRs. So I have now taken a personal loan from my bnk, and have paid off most of the balance of the Chase Card, and will pay the remainder before the end of the summer, and close my account. Additiopnally, since I believe the APR should have been reduced to the original 9.9% in 2010, I calculate that I have overpaid approximately $3600.00 in interest to the account.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the APR on this card reduced to the original 9.9%. Additionally, I would like to have $600.00 of the the $3600.00 in oveerpaid interest, creidtied to my account to pay the account off, and have the the remaining refunded to me in a check. With this outcome, I can sever all ties with JP Morgan Chase.

Review: My transaction closing date is the second of every month. I paid $300 on my credit card on February 17, 2015. I expected a $300 charge from Culinart which posted February 26, 2015. To avoid a big payment in the next transaction period, I paid another $300 on February 27, 2015 to cover the Culinart charge. JP Morgan/Chase posted the February 27 $300 payment but excluded the $300 Culinart charge which posted on February 26. The transaction period closed on March 2, 2015 which caused me to have a big payment in the current month and pay additional interest charges. I have brought this to their attention several times and they have not responded to my request that the charge be posted in the month in which it belongs.Desired Settlement: That they readjust my account to reflect the Culinart charge in February where it belongs and then my $600 payment be applied for the transaction period ending March 2, 2015.

Review: I had deployed to Afghanistan in 2009-2010. I put my Chase credit card on auto pay minimum balance while I was gone. In 1013 April, I paid off all my credit cards. On 09Dec 2013 I used one of the Chase Sapphire checks to write myself a loan of $4,000. I was charged $80 for this service. On 07MAR2014, Chase auto repaid the entire loan amount of $4080. even though I had already made a payment of $400 on the loan. When I asked about it, I was told my account had been inactive so long with a zero balance that it was moved to a balance payoff auto status. That certainly would have stopped me from taking out a loan. When I asked the money to be returned to my account, I was told the interest would then be 27.8% instead of the 0% of the check. I closed the account to get the four hundred dollars back as soon as possible since chase has screwed up my checking account. I would like the $80 back as well.

Thank youDesired Settlement: Refund of loan fees of $80 dollars.

Review: Back in July 2007 I had contact Chase for a settlement on two debts (according to their timeline of events) in August of 2007 I had made two large settlement amount payments (verified by Chase with obtaining my bank statements illegally) as they claimed in the letters attached they acquired my statements when they took over Washington Mutual (they did not take over WM until 2009 so how did they legally acquire my bank statements?) They have been inaccurately reporting to the cra's about both of these accounts stating they were charged off when in documentation they were settled. I have researched their collection history and have seen many states where a law suit for their illegal activities.Desired Settlement: 1. They are to delete these two files from all reporting agencies

2. They are to compensate me for damaging my credit over the past seven years! Refund me the money that I had paid them in 8/2007 since according to them it was not settled and for them illegally obtaining my bank statements!
