Central Air-Conditioner stopped workingThey sent two technicians who "worked on the problem" for over an hour and presented me with six "options", from their "bandaid" option to their "platinum." They ranged in price from $to over $The cost included a new "line set" (which I had paid them over $to replace last year when I put a hole in the line.) The system is less than years oldI told them to double check and they came back to tell me that nothing was covered under warranty, including the line setThey wanted to start work thenI sent them away and contacted their customer serviceNo one responded to the email I sent (that day) until late afternoon on 7/and "Natalie" had not read my email yetI was busy and arranged to re-contact her in minutesSubsequent attempts to contact her or her manager have been unsuccessfulI called a different company ( [redacted] - Burnsville)They showed up this morning (7/6)Their techwas here and gone in less than a ha

Ryan and Andrew, the professional technicians from Genz-Ryan Plumbing & Heating showed up on the same day that I called for service on my furnaceAlthough the diagnosis was not what anyone wants to hear, (I need a new furnace), both of the technicians commiserated with me in my painful demise and were very professional by thoroughly pointing out the problems with my furnace which could have killed me as it was emitting COand thankfully the roll out switch was doing the job of shutting off the furnace keeping the COfrom reaching a catastrophic levelRyan and Andrew were very friendly, professional guys that you would want to arm wrestle with for a better deal on the furnace--(Not Really)! They spelled out the cost, financing options and made sure that space heaters were delivered within an hour to keep me warm until the new furnace and air conditioning unit are installedIs anyone really ever happy with the price of a new furnace? I rest my case; But Ryan, Andrew and myself had a group hug and we all felt good about the end resultI live in a condo and the furnace has to fit the footprint of my building; It also comes with an AC unit combinedLet me spell it out...Although it pains me to give in, these guys were very professional, they diagnosed my furnace problem, kept me safe and alive and guaranteed installation within three days in the middle of a winter cold snapWhat more could anyone expect! I give these guys the highest recommendation and would refer them to anyoneThey didn't charge me for the service call which was about an hour of their time and I'll be warm and toasty in a few daysI may not love Genz-Ryan like the commercials say, but these guys make it easier to lean that way! OK, so I love these guys!

I'd leave zero stars if I could I made a mistake I agreed to have Genz Ryan install a water heater and some venting in my home I signed a contract to have them install a water heater and some venting for a couple of sinksThe estimate was over $7,which seemed high to me (There estimate for a Rinnai Tankless Water Heater was over $14,500) When I thought about it over the weekend, I decided it was too much money I called over the weekend and talked with the sales person and told him I didn't want to do the ventingIn the awkward conversation the guy giving the estimate kept saying they are not a "time and materials" plumber and said he wouldn't give me a detailed estimate The next Monday, a plumber came and installed the water heater for $3, They were supposed to install an outlet which I told them not to do and was assured there would be a credit for the fact that their electrician would not have to come out I found the exact same water heater on line for $from Home Depot which means they charged $3,for half of a day of installation for the water heater The water heater was installed in the exact same space No new venting or piping was neededThe water heater works fine They did a great job installing it but the pricing from Genz Ryan is sketchyI'm not sure if it was the person who priced out my job or if it was the organization as a whole but they refused to give an itemized invoice for the service I never received an paid invoice or a credit for the electrician that never came It seems like they need to gouge customers to pay for all the "cute" advertising they are doingAgain, I agreed to this for which I take responsibility but I'm hoping this review might protect others from using them Go somewhere else There are plenty of plumbers out there who are more honest in their pricing then Genz-Ryan

Ryan [redacted] , service technician for Genz-Ryan heating and plumbing checked the A.C and the furnace He seemed to do a very thorough job, was pleasant, and professional He explained the concerns that he had with our aging furnace He did not seem rushed at the end of the day Overall, did a good job

David A was the Genz-Ryan technician who performed routine maintenance on the plumbing, including the hot water heater, in my homeHe checked all the faucets, toilet tanks, showers, etcand drained the hot water heater I appreciated his helpfulness in answering related questions I had David arrived on schedule, was careful in the home, friendly and professionalI appreciated his skill and his demeanor and recommend him in this role to others

I awoke in the middle of the night smelling a burnt type odor coming from the lower level of my houseThe furnace was making a terrible noise and running extremely hot, so I turned it off I called Genz Ryan up first thing in the morning, they sent Steve Mover before noon to take a look at my furnace, it was determined that the blower motor burnt out, causing the heat exchanger to crack due to the extreme heatThey began removal of the year old furnace that afternoon and installed a new furnace that eveningI am very satisfied with their quick response to this emergencyEveryone was very professional, knowledgeable,courteous, and proficient in their work

Zach Bwas performing our scheduled furnace checkup today The furnace was fine, but, he found a leak on our 14yr old water heater That saved us a great deal of stress had we not agreed to replace it Since we are elderly folks we are plagued with allergies Zach also recommended we install an electric furnace filter We complained that we were having lots of dust particles in the air causing us breathing problems He was able to perform that work on the spot We are extremely pleased with Zach's pleasant attitude and knowledge We would recommend his services to anyone GREAT JOB!!

David [redacted] is an outstanding to asset to the Genz-Ryan Family He is an excellent plumber and technician He has been to our home several times and we continually ask for him, when we need work done by the Genz-Ryan David is punctual, smart, congenial, honest, and can immediately diagnose any plumbing/air conditioner problem that we may have We highly recommend David and Genz-RyanMary and Gene

Zac [redacted] came out to clean and certify my furnace He's an outstandingly friendly technician who took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do and even invited me to watch Finished up very quickly but took the time to make that personal connection I'll recommend Genz-Ryan and specifically Zac to everyone I know that needs to have their HVAC worked on

Mike Svisit performed a furnace tuneup - inspected and cleaned parts on the furnace and provided a performance reportHe is confident that his work has eliminated the furnace gas smell that my neighbor and noticed outside the furnace exhaust the prior weekend Mike Salso looked at the insulation wrapped around the gas dryer vent tubeOnly the top portion of the tube is now insulated because the bottom portion was removed by Genz Ryan employees when they cleaned the duct two weeks priorAs the utility room is very cold in the winter, I thought the insulation should run the total length of the tubeMike Ssays the drawback is that the temperature gets very hot where the tube connects to the dryerAs the cement block walls are cold, he suggested installing rigid insulation board instead...so, I will look into that option Mike Sis congenial and has a pleasant personalityI thank him and Colleen, the person I discussed my situation with over the phoneColleen was pleasant to speak with and she setup the appointment that was needed for the two services
