Mad City Windows & Baths Reviews (%countItem)

We had Mad City Baths install a walk in shower. We are not satisfied with the finished product. They finished the outside of the shower with floor molding. They also would not finish the floor where they took out the old spa tub. We have called and talked to the office and also a man who came out and checked the work. He agreeded with us that the finished work was not good. They have already received the full payment of almost $8300.00 from the finance bank.

We hired Mad City to install new door, window and siding on May 3, 2017. He measured the house for materials and we ordered 20 shutters. An inspector came and measured the house a week later to make sure it was done correctly. The salesman came back to re-measure the house two weeks after that. They finally began the work in August. The two men worked approx. 6 hours/day and after the 7th day advised that they would not be there the next day or the following week as they had to install emergency windows someplace else. I contacted the salesman and advised that it was already taking two weeks to get a one week job done. The men showed up and worked full days to get the job done before the weekend. The siding was up but the frosted glass for the new front door was clear (not frosted as ordered). The door *** and dead bolt for the front door had no keys. He came back on Saturday to install a new door lock but it was the wrong color (didn't match the deadbolt). One of the screens in the new window didn't have a spring on it so may fall out when it's windy. They forgot to install a strike plate under the back patio door (still the old original painted wood). There were no shutters. The service person told us they hadn't been ordered yet. They also had to order the frosted glass for the front door. When they were done with their part, they had my husband sign a release form but they noted on the form what still had to be done and advised that we wouldn't have to start paying until all the work was completed. In September we received our first installment from the finance company. I called them and explained that the work wasn't completed yet. From that phone call, we received several phone calls from various people from Mad City and the finance company. Everyone advised that the work would be completed soon. Yet one more person came out to make a list of all that had to be completed. In late September we received a call that the shutters were in. They came to install the shutters but they were the wrong color. They were the same color as the siding. They advised that they would have to re-order them. Also they had to order the frosted glass. I received and paid our second installment with the finance company. Last week I called Mad City and gave them one week to get the shutters and have them installed. Surprisingly they "just came in" and would be there on October 30th to install. They came yesterday to install the new shutters and four of the windows were too short. Two of the windows facing the road weren't included at all. The frosted glass came for the side of the new door but not the window in the door. We are still without keys to the front door and they still don't match. The kick plate under the back door was too narrow so that has to be re-ordered also. I don't have to tell you that we are VERY angry and dissatisfied with Mad City. We would not recommend them to anyone. We have been waiting for this job to be completed since May 3rd - that's almost six months. Now our home is sided and there are shutters on some of the windows - it looks like hell!!!!

Sorry I didn’t get back to you. Mad City came to our home last Wednesday and completed all of the work. Thank you.

Sandra

Many problems with this company, bad product, many mistakes made from ordering the door to ordering the wrong sizes, to a bowed door , and bad glass that had to be replaced 3 times, and the attitude of the management when I called to complain. Namely Corey who told me if I continue to complain and tell people about the situation he would have their lawyers on me. I paid $12,000 to have the job done and it's been nothing but trouble. And the hassle to have to be here every time they come out to do the job which will be the fourth time now.

Customer ordered a new French door. Was installed 8/16/17 Customer was upset that the new door did not come with a screen door. The screen door was not on contract so there was not one ordered. I offered her to install a new screen door at Mad City Windows expense to make her happy. She wanted this along with a large discount I explained that She could have one or the other but not both as we were giving her free materials. There was a small flaw in her glass which was within industry standards but due to the level of frustration the customer expressed we replaced them at no cost to her. My field manager did make a human mistake and ordered the wrong size screen doors which we have on order and will be installing as soon as they come in.

Signed a contract 07/19/2017 with Mad City Roofing Siding and Windows to remove my aluminum siding, and replace with a insulation/vinyl siding product and new window/door cladding. They agreed to remove and install two new windows. The price was $25, 610.
The contract said shall start on or before Sept 10, 2017 and work will be complete in 2-5 days.
Sept 10 I contacted company and they said due to being busy and lack of crews, Oct 17 is start date.
Company rep stopped by on Oct 9 to tell us start date FIRM on October 16.
Rep showed up Oct 11 with delivery of supplies on 3 pallets. Rep called us on Oct 12 to say they have a crew that can start removing aluminum siding Oct 13, 2017. Start date still FIRM for Oct 16.
Oct 16 removal crew completed removal. No word from rep on install crew. Tuesday Oct 17 rep says start on October 18. Crew shows up on October 19.
Today is October 27 and 4 pm. They almost have one side of the house sided and windows clad.
Crew works 4 to 6 hours a day. Complained to production manager and QA rep about lack of progress.
Get no where. Do I have any recourse here to get 1) the job completed in a timely manner and 2) reduction in amount owed to company for their tardiness according to the signed contract?

Mad City Windows & Baths Response

Mad city has been working with this customer to complete their siding job. The job has been going slow for the most part due to delays of answering the customers questions or stopping progress to look at items the customer wants to show us or have us do such as hanging a decoration on the wall for them. Progress also and halted to install ground breaker that the customer asked us to add which was done at our cost. The customer has not been charged for this cost of the ground breaker as of yet . The crew is our smallest crew of two men as the customer insisted on only our best quality. It is always our intention to put out only the best quality work however in this scenario we are having to put a level on every piece of siding to show the customer that we are running true. For the past week we have now been able to make a fair amount of progress on the job as the crew has been able to keep going without interruption. It is Mad City's intent to work out a form of compensation with this customer in the end after we can assure that they are satisfied with the work done.

I was very pleased with the installation of my new walk in shower by Mad City Bath. The workers were very professional and friendly.

We had an excellent experience with our sales person Rob. He was right on time with appt and stayed for quite awhile to make sure we were ok with what we wanted. He had knowledge on what Mad City Baths had available and worked with us with the selection. The install team also arrived at the time they said they would. They explained everything they were doing as the day went on and even ran into issues, but they resolved them quickly..Very impressed
